The 2011 C30 is a 2-door, 4-passenger sports coupe.

Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, I5, 227-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 5-speed automatic transmission is optional.

The C30 is Volvo's first hatchback vehicle since the 480 of the 1980s, which followed the P1800 ES of the 1970s. The C30 was first introduced for the 2007 model year, following the successful unveiling of a concept by the same name in early 2006.

Now for 2010 onward, the C30 gains a redesigned front-end as well as more standard features. The list includes standard Bluetooth hands-free phone interface, leather gearshift knob with aluminum inlay, leather parking brake cover, trip computer and cruise control.

Unlike the A4 convertible that preceded it, the A5 convertible is styled much the same as the A5 two-door coupe. The body styles share the same basic lines on the outside, as well as the same interior and the same powertrain.

Eschewing the folding metal hard tops found in some Swedish, German and Japanese rivals, the A5 convertible features a fully insulated cloth top with a heated glass rear window. The top's lines roughly follow the roofline of the coupe, unlike many competitors.
What's new for 2011?

The biggest change to the 2011 Audi A5 is the availability of a new 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. It replaces the previous 6-speed Tiptronic, and Audi claims the new compact gearbox is smoother and returns improved fuel economy.
