Rumors on petrol price for RON 97 will increase from RM1.80/liter to RM 2.00/liter with effect on 1Sep’09.

This RON 97 is common use for majority of our cars.At the same time, another new petrol grade will be introduced which is RON 95 (with cheaper price, RM1.75/liter).

RON–> Research Octane Number

Wiki notes:

Octane rating of a spark ignition engine fuel is the detonation resistance (anti-knock rating) compared to a mixture of iso-octane (2,2,4-trimethylpentane, an isomer of octane) and n-heptane. By definition, iso-octane is assigned an octane rating of 100, and heptane is assigned an octane rating of zero. An 87-octane gasoline, for example, possesses the same anti-knock rating of a mixture of 87% (by volume) iso-octane, and 13% (by volume) n-heptane. This does not mean, however, that the gasoline actually contains these hydrocarbons in these actual proportions. It simply means that it has the same detonation resistance properties as the described ’standard’ defined mixture.

Octane number refers to the gasoline ability to withstand auto ignition inside the engine. Simply said, RON97 is harder to ignite compared to RON95.

I believe some of us might switch from RON97 to RON95 due to the cheaper price.BUT, you are advised to check out your vehicle fuel requirement, to ensure compatibility and usability.

The effect of using lower RON then the requirement: KNOCKING ( poor performance of your vehicle)

Further refinement is currently underway. The looks will be different from the Lancer and spot its own characteristics. But one things for sure, the mechanical aspect and design is all Mitsubishi. Let’s hope the assembly is of quality.

This also means that Proton is now effectively in the business as a car assembler rather than car manufacturer. There is effectively minimum difference between Perodua (backed by Toyota/Daihatsu) and Proton (Mitsubishi).

All are petrol engine automatics, and almost all are 8-seaters. There was a five-seat N Type available from 1999 to 2001, but not many were built. Originally powered by a 2 liter engine, it was thought a little underpowered, and since June 2004 a 2.4 liter engine has been available as an option.

Featuring a low-floor, low-center-of-gravity platform, the new Step WGN offers superior comfort and a compact body along with sedan-like handling and maneuverability. Attractive features such as floor panel design, a first for a production passenger minivan, help create a comfortable and inviting interior.

Introduction.

The combustion engine vehicle efficiency is about 9%. This means that your car consume more energy that it convert in movement. In other words, you pay more energy that you use. In this text I will describe you some methods and apparatus for improving the combustion of fluid fuel in combustion devices, such as general burners, incinerators, fuel oil boilers from appliance boilers to heat power boilers ( home or industrial heating ), combustion furnaces, and internal combustion engines in automobiles ( two-cycle and four-cycle, diesel and gasoline ), trucks, ships and jets, where the fuel employed is liquid or gaseous hydrofuels, such as gas, natural gas, propane, kerosene, gasoline, fuel oil, butane, etc…

Magnetic FuelSaver.

Applying a magnetic field to ionizing fuel to be fed to combustion devices we can ensure more complete combustion, obtaining a maximization of the fuel economy, improving the fuel efficiency and reducing polluting emissions.

The fuel is subject to the lines of forces from permanent magnets mounted on fuel inlet lines. The magnet for producing the magnetic field is oriented so that its South pole (red) is located adjacent the fuel line and its North pole (blue) is located spaced apart from the fuel line.

The magnetic field strength must be at a higher Gauss level (500 Gauss) since it may be demagnetized to some extent before reaching the combustion chamber.

The car has undergone a full rebuild by MEM ( Mellors Elliot MotorSports )in accordance with Super 2000 specifications and probably the only reaining commonality between this car and the road foing version of the Satria Neo are the door handles and headlights, while everything else has been strengthened, modified or switched.

Designed by Mellors Elliott Motorsport, (MEM), the new Proton Satria Neo Super 2000 rally car has just raised the performance bar for the rapidly expanding FIA Super 2000 rally series.

The concept was developed by using a combination of innovative engineering designs, the 25 years of experience of the team’s technical staff but, crucially, also the input from the team’s owner and extremely successful driver, Chris Mellors. The result is an astonishingly small and agile car which from the very outset was designed for the driver.

With an attractive and aerodynamic package for the front bumper, wings, rear bumper and rear spoiler complimenting the eye-catching Satria design, the Proton S2000 can achieve in full rally trim the smallest frontal area and the lowest roof height in its class even at rally ride height settings. Driver and Co-driver seat positions are fixed at the rearmost possible mounting points to maximise the car’s weight distribution but with the pedal box and steering column both adjustable to suit different pilots. The MEM rollcage design uses 35 metres of lightweight Chrome Moly tube together with strategic body strengthening resulting in vastly improved torsional bodyshell stiffness and a no-compromise safety cell for the crew. The cleverly designed side crash protection bars are uniquely shaped to aid driver and co-driver access into and out of the car.

A facelift Perodua Myvi SE will be launch on the 10th October 2008. Eventhough it is not yet officially launched, the new Myvi has been available in showrooms the past week now.

I got to see on the road yesterday, notice the front design is a bit small with a large wheel base at the bottom. Other specifications new front and rear bumper, sideskirts, rear spoiler, new sports rims, blue outlined Optitron meter panel, chromed muffler tip, leather seats, and silver trim for center console.

On the interior, we can see that certain models have had their integrated stereo system replaced with a 2-DIN slot, filled with a 2-DIN player that is likely MP3 capable as a USB slot for thumbdrives or other USB-capable MP3 players can be seen. There is also a shot of a dashboard which shows a 6,800rpm redline: a new engine option?

(Daihatsu) and Perodua, Daihatsu’s joint venture vehicle manufacture and sales company in Selangor, Malaysia, today announced the minor redesign of a compact car, the Myvi. An event to mark the launch of the new vehicle was held in Kuala Lumpur on the evening of August 22.
The Myvi was developed jointly by Perodua and Daihatsu in May 2005. Both the interior and the exterior of the vehicle have been redesigned. The annual sales target is 7,000 units and the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices range between 39,500 MYR and 49,700 MYR (approximately 1.20 to 1.53 million yen).

Get the full picture here.

The hood top a resemblance of Lotus APX, from side view it is sort of a taller Toyota Wish, and rear is like those Naza Ria. Sources stated that it will be launched in March 2009.
What do you think?
