The car’s safety systems have been designed to cope with its extraordinary performance, acceleration and speed. The single-piece carbon-fiber monocoque alone scores maximum points in crash tests, while airbags give the driver and passenger additional protection. The high-speed tires designed specially for the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 (for vmax. > 350 km/h), sizes 265-680 ZR500A (front) and 365-710 R540A (rear), incorporate a further innovative safety feature in the form of the PAX System fitted to the wheels and tires, ensuring safe handling even after sudden pressure loss. Another Bugatti Veyron 16.4 component with a safety element is the rear spoiler. As well as providing the necessary downforce during high-speed travel, it acts as a kind of ‘parachute brake’ during emergency braking. Once precisely-defined deceleration forces are registered the spoiler tilts and the additional air resistance this generates reduces the braking distance to that of a lorry.

Caparo T1

The Caparo T1 will be launched in the summer 2007 with a new and more powerful engine than previously mooted.
The bespoke lightweight, all aluminum V8 has a higher capacity of 3.5 liters and is now normally aspirated. The increase in power (to 530 bhp) was made possible by the engine’s improved volumetric efficiency through reduced intake load losses and by exhaust backpressures, together with optimized electronic control. Lamborghini engineers decreased the Lamborghini Gallardo’s already low weight when empty by another 154 lbs using advanced materials and tecnologies. The engine hood is made of visible carbon fiber and transparent polycarbonate, a type of material that guarantees lightness and also shows off the magnificent V10. The rear diffuser and underbody covering, the rearview mirrors, door panels and the central tunnel’s covering are also made of carbon fiber.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

Lamborghini presented the first official photos of Murcielago LP640 Roadster. Although its front size is the same as for its similar concept- 20 Cup, the new French creation is unique, by having 4 wheels instead of 3. Unlike 908 V12, it will be presented in other races, where the cost will be cheaply. That is the reason why this concept has many characteristics from all Peugeot models. Brake discs are from 407, direction system is a hybrid from 206 and 407, and the cooling system with the turbo propeller (EP6 DTS code) of 1.6 litres, with 16 valves, which develops 175 hp are from 207.

Citroen C-Metisse

Citroen C-Metisse has an unconventional propulsion system, containing the same HDi from C6 (V6, 2.7 litres, 208 hp) and 2 electrical engines that make the back wheels to keep on rolling. But, as we all know, Ferrari FXX it can’t be driven on streets and the British product is a road-legal one. Of course, there must be a problem the price, € 522,000 and even so, there is much less than the price for Ferrari FXX. The body is built of carbon fibre and weight only 1.2 tones. It accelerates at 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and gets to 160 km/h in less than 6 seconds. Another bad news is that if you want to buy one, you have to hurry, because will be built only 10 pieces.

392 Hemi Dodge Challenger

Based on the concept that will appear on public roads, the Americans have developed a race version, named 392 Hemi Dodge Challenger Super Stock, presented at SEMA tuning show. And, if the Italians have a 640bhp Lamborghini Murcielargo LP640, is the time now for the Germans to show what a real police car means. So, they offered a Brabus, based on the Mercedes Benz CLS. Brabus Rocket set the record for the world’s fastest production saloon, by hitting 227.2 mph at the Nardo high speed bowl in Italy.

The car is used as a PR exercise, but the Rocket is very real and can be yours for £235,178. For this price you will get a great modified Mercedes V12, which starts life as a mere 5.5 litres in the S-Class. Brabus has also a couple of turbochargers and a performance exhaust system to ramp up the power to a 730 bhp. The peak torque is of 973 lb/ft, 5 speed automatic gearbox, accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.0 seconds, 12 piston callipers grabbing on to enormous ceramic brakes and 19 inch alloy wheels. This means 100hp more than the simple version, Dodge SRT10. Also, this means that the Corvette Z06 is behind with 88Hp, and that makes the Dodge Viper SRT10 the most powerfull. Not many specifications are available, but it is known that it does reach to 60mph in “under 4 seconds”.
