I headed over to Como Park today for some family photos. Fall color is starting to fade, but we still found some gorgeous color and it was just a beautiful day to be outside.

Downtown Minneapolis Skyline at Sunrise

After Chris and I finished up our headshots, I headed out onto the balcony for 10 minutes to capture these images of sunrise. I had hoped to catch the lights of the the future home of the Twins, Target Field (top right of the first horizonal field below)… but the lights turned off about 10 minutes before it was bright enough to take a picture of the city. If the Twin’s marketing guys ever happen to read this, be sure to keep those lights on around sunrise / sunset (free marketing from anyone who happens to be photographing the city at the most beautiful time of day…)

Headshots

I’ve been shooting more corporate headshots lately, these are Chris at Wells Fargo and my friend Bob. Chris has a killer view of downtown from the Fifth Street Towers that I managed to catch (since we were shooting at the crack of dawn). Come back soon to see that view…

Declan, Ian, Jill, and Erik | Minneapolis Family Portraits

I had a great time Sunday enjoying a colorful fall day with Declan, Ian, Jill, and Erik. After taking some shots around home we headed toward the Mississippi River, where there is plenty of fall color right now. We had a pretty good spot, but a couple of friendly runners (who were taking a quick break by their car before the 2nd half of their run) gave us a great tip to head to a new trail on the other side of the river. They were right on, the colors were amazing! We then stopped by Hidden Falls (which I’d never seen before) and ended back up where we started. The same guys were back from the second half of their run, enjoying a growler of IPA, and offered me a glass and some good conversation. I then headed off to photograph a 2nd family and later joined up with friends for “scary movie night” in honor of Halloween. Not a bad way to enjoy Sunday!
