I posted some pictures from Playfair Park in Victoria BC, in the June 2007 new cards, from July 1 2007 Canada Day celebrations in the July 2007 new cars, and a large group of pictures from a trip to Port Alberni and area in their own folder. The pictures in this group were taken during a visit to Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. The trip included visits to Bamfield via The Lady Rose (the mail boat), Long Beach and Tofino, and the McLean Sawmill Historic Site via The Alberni Pacific Steam Train. I posted a group of 16 pictures of the early flowers for 2007 in the February 2007 folder.
Spring has been later in arriving this year so the flowers are about two weeks later than usual in popping their heads out to greet the spring.

I created a number of new cards using pictures taken during a winter driving trip to Manitoba. There are some nice mountain scenes and some Christmas lights as well as some from the lighting display set up for the 125th anniversary celebrations for the city of Brandon, Manitoba.

I recently added links to an alternate card service to the entry pages and the backup page.
The new pages use the ABCard ("A Bilingual Card") service to send and receive cards.
The selection on my pages there is not nearly as extensive as either the main or backup sites for Cards From Ogden Point. They, however provide a different style of card with different music selections. They will work when the main site is unavailable -- like during the storm earlier this week when the power to my house (and consequently my PhotoServer) was off for a couple of hours. The Victoria BC Santa Claus Parade was on November 18. I posted 32 pictures from the Parade in the November 2006 folder and I created a slide show card with a Christmas theme using those pictures.

I have continued adding special effects and graphics to the system to allow the visitors to enhance their Posty. There are now backgrounds for a number of special occasions, and graphics ready for the Christmas Season. There are special effects like birthday balloons and envelopes on various pages.

Today I finished creating a bit of diversion from the Posty's featuring my photographs with some game cards. There are 8 Game Cards featuring nostalgic games reminiscent of the days of Apple II's and Commodore 64's and 14 Solitaire Card Games that can all be played right in the Posty.

Welcome to any new visitors arriving from the "Langa Blog". I "Flogged The Blog" last week and placed the link to The Langa Blog on the right hand side of the page. Check the link for more information about what this is about, and for some great computer advice.

I added "Flash" Slide Shows to every category in the site today. You can now not only send an individual picture as a Card From Ogden Point, you can send a slide show of pictures with music that can be turned on or off as the viewer wishes.
I added the Slide Shows because my "Hit Counters" are showing that there are more visitors to Cards From Ogden Point who just watch the slide shows themselves than there are visitors who send and/or pick up Posties. This will give viewers the option of viewing the pictures as a slide show, and of sharing that slide show with others.

I finished adding the ability to add graphics to the Message Section and/or to use a few custom graphics at the bottom of the Posty.

October 9 New Pictures and CardMaster Contest

I got some pictures from early October posted just in time for the start of the Fall Holiday CardMaster Contest on the MyPostCards Network. The tune up of the site is finished, and the Index Page is split into two pages to allow faster loading. I added a Big Hug card to complement the Hug Puzzle card, and I reposted the link to the random jigsaw puzzle.

October 3 2006 New Pictures and Site Tune Up

I didn't take a lot of pictures in September 2006. Most of my creative time was spent going over my various web sites fixing files corruption and sorting out the various features and cards in Cards From Ogden Point.
I added a verification function that won't let the visitor accidentally forget to fill in the essential parts of a card. It is particularly fussy that the recipient's E-Mail address is correct. I added the ability to add "Wallpaper" to the page behind the card, I standardized all the font and music choices to be consistent from page to page, and I added a bit of music that I found in the files. Today I also added some pictures from September, and I'm awaiting the Fall Holiday Contest start.

October 9 is Thanksgiving Day in Canada.
I put the links to the Thanksgiving Cards and the Autumn Splendour Cards on the Index Page today. I also entered the Fall Holidays Contest from the MyPostCards Network. I have reworked all the pages on the site so that they should load and display better, and I added a utility that won't let you progress to the "sending" stage until you have filled in all the necessary boxes on the card.

I posted two new groups of pictures tonight. The August 2006 folder and a series of pictures from Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria BC.
Cards From Ogden Point went on line on August 23 2004 and converted to the "Pro" service with no advertising on September 9 that same year.
The two years have brought over 18,000 visitors to the site.

July 10 Travel Pictures added

I got my pictures from my trip to Nova Scotia added to Cards From Ogden Point.
They are in a folder of their own. The pictures were taken in Saint John, New Brunswick and in the Digby, Nova Scotia area.

For those who just want to see the pictures, they are in the Recent Pictures Album on my PhotoServer as well. There are more pictures in the album than there are in the Cards From Ogden Point pages. The pictures in the Recent Pictures album are set up with the newest pictures first, so the first pages of the album are pictures taken after I arrived home -- including the Canada Day fireworks in Victoria, BC.

I was away from home for much of June, visiting family in Manitoba and Nova Scotia. I finally got a number of pictures from my holidays sorted and cards created from them. Tonight I uploaded some more pictures in the May 2006 folder, a June 2006 folder, a July 2006 folder, and a July 1 2006 fireworks folder. There is still a folder with the pictures from my travels to create and upload -- that will be on line in the next few days.

May 13 Last Minute Mother's Day Cards

I sorted and added 16 May 2006 pictures to the 2006 pictures galleries and a sequence of 64 pictures from a visit to Government House in Victoria to the Spring Spectacular gallery on Cards From Ogden Point. They are just in time for any last minute Mother's Day visitors.
Government House is the name of official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of the province in each province in Canada. The BC Government House is a very impressive looking building on a cliff in the Rocklands area of Victoria BC. The view and the grounds are spectacular. The grounds constantly change to reflect the season and are worth visiting in any season of the year. (The Halloween Cards on Cards From Ogden Point include pictures from the Pumpkin Art show that is held there annually.)

Spring Spectacular Slide Show Added

I added a slide show of the Spring Feature Pictures.
The Slide Show includes the 300 pictures in my recently added Spring Features Page.

The slide show changes the pictures every 40 seconds -- the picture that is shown is completely random.
You can click any picture for a closer look and/or a POSTY using the picture.
You can change the slide by clicking "Change" or by refreshing the page.
Since the show is completely random, if you miss clicking on a picture you want to see or use, you will have to go to the index page and go through the individual thumbnail index pages.

My daughter is visiting this week and we are taking in the local Parks and enjoying the flowers.
