The 6th annual Health Professions Virtual Conference hosted by Irvine Valley College and PreMedCC is set to take place via Zoom over two days on Thursday, April 16 to Friday, April 17.

The conference is free and open to all California community college students, staff, counselors and STEM faculty members. High school and university students are also welcome to register and attend.

Admission officers will cover academic opportunities, financial aid, transfer requirements and host a live Q&A. This session is open to community college and non-traditional students who have graduated from high school. Registration closes one hour before the event.

It’s set to take place on Friday, May 2, 2025, 8am to 6:30pm.

The conference features keynote speakers, workshops on admissions and career tracks, focus groups on various health fields, interactive skills demonstrations including suturing and casting workshops, panel discussions, networking, a 2 1/2 hour health education fair, deans of admission, and much more.

For those interested in the latest research in medicine and public health, an all day scientific track features speakers from major medical research centers such as UCI, UCSF, UCLA, Loma Linda University, and USC.

As you are aware, the Cal State Apply application opened on October 1, 2023. For more information about our 134+ majors and concentrations as well as admissions requirements and Fall 2024 deadlines, please refer students to check out our new Virtual Steps to Admissions digital brochure.

To assist students with the application, our Student Outreach and Recruitment team will be hosting, once again, a series of virtual Cal State Apply Workshops from mid October through late November.

The event aims to provide insights into the unique experiences and resources that await your students on our campus, helping them make informed decisions about their future education. Our main target audience are for high school Seniors and transfer ready community college students ready to apply for Fall 2024 but we welcome all cohorts of students to visit us and partake in this event.

In recognition of National Transfer Student Week, admissions representatives from the undergraduate programs at Amherst College, Pomona College, Princeton University, Williams College and Yale University will host a virtual information session about their respective undergraduate programs and transfer admissions processes.

The information covered will be particularly relevant to community college students and/or U.S. military veterans and servicemembers.

Topics will include:

• Academic programs and the liberal arts
• Undergraduate admissions policies
• Financial aid, affordability and support systems for transfer and military-affiliated students

As proud partners of the Leadership Scholar Program, Service to School and the Warrior-Scholar Project, we will also discuss how we work with these organizations in our processes.
