The problem was that she had written none of it down and so it was ‘he said, she said’. The outcome of this messy business will not be satisfactory for any of those involved because nothing has been recorded.

Care lesson 101, write everything down. That includes the incident – date and time, who was involved, the action you took and the resolution (if there was one or if there was not). At the time it might seem an insignificant issue but be certain that if it is added to a heap of other insignificant issues – it will become a mountain and then it’s too late.

Read this simple and easy to understand book.

As a 64 year old ignoramus when it comes to this whole new communication system called blogging, I have felt embarrassed by ignorance and totally overwhelmed when young friends and family happily blog away and make money.

A family member introduced me to this book “31 days to build a better blog” and each day has been a voyage of discovery for me. The mystique of blogging has been dispelled a little each day and as I do the daily tasks, my fear is vanishing.

Suddenly post lists and elevator pitches have taken on a whole new meaning for me.

The book is meant for people who have started a blog and then got stuck or for those who are not getting traffic to their site.

As a novice in this field, I am almost ready to graduate!

When I read them recently, I found them incredibly detailed and intense.

Even the cover art is something quite special.

Take a look at the cover of Meridon and another of her novels, Wideacre. The artwork is something quite special, particular in the detail of the Georgian facade on the cover of Wideacre, it’s well worth taking a look at if you like period literature.

I must say that I have read her royal historical novels which I have found fascinating.

The last one I read was  The Constant Princess – there is so much to learn about Katharine of Aragon. We were told such a different story as school kids.

Has anybody out there perhaps read The White Queen or The Red Queen?

I haven’t read them myself. They are some of Phillipa Gregory’s lesser known work, but should definitely be worth a look if you liked her more mainstream books, such as The Other Boleyn Girl which was even made into a movie, starring Eric Bana, Scarlett Johannson and Natalie Portman, as Henry VIII, Jane Boleyn and Anne Boleyn respectively.

I wonder how much time, you as a carer, get to read these days, or do you prefer to relax in your downtime with a DVD?
