Marry Me Part 1 & 2

I was looking for a movie that will really satisfy me, when I stumbled upon this great flick on youtube (because they are allowing full length movies now. Thank God!). The movie caught my eye & got me excited when I saw Lucy Liu as one of the lead characters. It's been a while since I saw her. And it was her first movie, I think that doesn't have any martial arts or something similar to "Charlie's Angels".

The movie is entitled Marry Me. All along I thought it would just be an hour and a couple-of-minutes movie but I was wrong. It has Part 2! It left me hanging when Part 1 ended and flashed "to be continued". I was like really devastated because im so into the movie.. and Lucy Liu! So I really took time to search in IMDB for any information and viola! Part 2 was also shown on the same year, which is 2010. Can you feel how desparate I was? Haha! Oh well..

Going back to the movie..

When I already knew that Part 2 was also shown on the same year (because I thought it was a 2012 movie. Fact: youtube also shows latest movies! How cool is that? Yeah, I bet you know all about it.) I immediately search for it in youtube and stream all the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Lucy Liu plays a social worker in this movie. She has a photographer boyfriend, named Adam, whom she thought will propose to her soon. But things went differently.. then she met the nephew of their family friend priest, Luke, and his best friend and college roommate Harry.

And things became interesting.

From a photographer to an interior designer (Luke) and almost to the very rich bestfriend (Harry).

Now, it's very interesting. But I won't dish out other details of this movie because I might spoil it.

So go ahead and watch it!

Lucy Liu is so HOT! And the castle made me realize that it will take a few weeks before you will memorize every corner of it.. or maybe a year.

The Awesome Ipanema Fashion Show

I always loved Ipanema. They never fail to bring unique style.

They make not-just-your-ordinary slippers!

My favorite!

Hands down to Ipanema & Bambu for a very unique and awesome fashion show that was held last October 12 at Abreeza's Activity Center.

The Fashion show was so colorful and full of life!
It was full of most-likely contemporary dancing mixed with a theater like performance but was not able to confuse it with the main purpose of the show - which is to introduce the new set of flip flop designs & collections of Ipanema

Giving away some limited edition laptop bags!

And the winner is...

Gave out some new pairs of flip flops before the proper fashion show started.

Sharee got a new pairs of slippers!

Ipanema that night featured amazing styles from their new collection and
I can tell from the designs what that I saw is that people will really dig it.

Fashionistas and bloggers were invited to the event but the show was for everybody.
The show was engaging because not only it's one of a kind presentation but I got to see the latest style from Ipanema. And I spotted 2 slippers that I want to buy soon!

Ipanema slippers are comfort plus style. I have my own pair in a basic black color and I love how it completes my simple and relaxing outfit! Plus, it doesn't let me down when it comes to comfort.
Whenever I decide to wear something that is laid back, I always use my black Ipanema and it completes my outfit.

The invitation

Sumo Sam is now on its third branch here in Davao.

It is actually called The Legacy of Sumo Sam And it is said to be quite different from the branches that opened.

Well, what makes it different from the other Sumo Sam's is that they're going to feature guest chefs every now and then, as said by the principal owner Mr. Raymund Magdaluyo

Fortunate enough to be there.

Some of the bloggers were invited to dine and chat with the owners of the newly opened branch.

And one of them was me!

I was lucky enough to meet the great actor and chef Marvin Agustin, part owner of Sumo Sam.

And along with them was the owner of the three Sumo Sam branches in Davao, Carlo Lorenzana.

On that day, they served us their best selling dishes.

They served us the sumo sam pride salad - which was the best!

-the sauce added a uniquely special taste to it.

Also, 4 types of maki's - California Roll, Cunchy Tuna Roll, Dynamite Roll and the Mt. Apo Roll.

What I like about their Makis is that it has toppings, adds more flavor to each bite.

Dynamite Roll was one of a kind for me, much more spicy but doesn't overtake the taste of the other contents. When it comes to their Tuna Roll, unlike any other tuna roll that I have tasted, this one has more "tuna effect" than the others that I have tried before. The tuna wasn't that limited, it somehow beats the rice that wraps around it.

For the ever famous California Maki. It has its own twist and not the ordinary type. Well, I have always believe that all California Makis taste the same until I tried Sumo Sam's version. Just so you know that I always order California Maki in any restaurant and I can tell that their is something different in the Sumo Sam way.

And for Mt. Apo Roll, the Davao meets Japan Maki, It has a touch of Davao's King of Fruits: Durian.

For me, it's a must-taste maki.

Aside from those, they also gave us a chance to taste Kani Nori Tempura, Vegetable Kakiage, Chicken Yakitori & Sesame Chicken.

Among those 5 foods that I just mentioned, Chicken Yakitori and Sesame Chicken are my 2 new favorite Japanese food.

Food that I suggest you to try is their California Roll, Dynamite Roll, Tuna Roll& Mt. Apo Roll. Also, the Salad and Chicken Yakitori. Those are the food that really caught my palate.

My boyfriend got jealous when he heard that im going to this Sumo Sam event.

I can actually feel him now reading this post and feeling really really sad that he never got to try Sumo Sam yet.

I went to the SM Lanang Premier soft opening!

It opens on September 28 but we got to take a peek a day before its opening.

How cool is that?! ☺

I won't be describing you how it looks like inside because by the time I post this blog you've already been there.

Forever 21 is now in Davao!

One of my very late post for this week.

Okay. So SM Lanang Premier opened to 'us' last September 27.
Lucky us! We get to see the mall inside - exclusively.

One of the stores that opened that day was Forever 21.
And boy, I witnessed the fashionable people in Davao emerge!

As I went inside the store, I can't help myself but drool over the items that were around me.
The pair of shoes that I have been looking for, the clutch that I always wanted to have and a panda purse that I find so cute.
Right then and there, I decided to make a Forever 21 Wishlist.
But that list is still in the process since it's really hard to do!
With all that items around me, I just can't concentrate!
I'd end up listing each and every item in the store. Hahaha!

Let's go back to the Forever 21's soft opening..
I visited the store after the event that I went to finished.
And here are the things that have caught my eyes:

SHOES!
There was a clutch and panda purse that I also wanted, however I was not able to take pic of it.

After walking around, checking out each of the pieces that they are selling. I finally got to purchase a top and hair accessory on the day of its soft opening.. And on the exact opening date, a pair of pants.
Too bad, the things that caught my eyes weren't the items that I bought.
Oh well, better luck on my next salary. lols

A taste of Tokyo in Davao

Tokyo Tokyo was introduced to a few media people and VIP’s last September 27 – which was the “preview” event of SM Lanang Premier. And I was lucky enough to be one of the media people who got to be there. For sure you would want to know how it tastes, well… It’s a high 10! The Food was amazing, one of the best Japanese restaurant that I have ever been to.

The best dish that I tried was the tempura, it was crispy, cooked just right, not to mention big & delicious!

And my NEW fave drink from Tokyo Tokyo is their Red Iced Tea, It really taste good, the type of red tea that I was looking for. Sweetness was just right. It is actually very addicting. Expect me to be ordering it every time I am in Tokyo Tokyo.

I got to try their milk tea too, it was amazing! I am not a milk tea fan but it’s the type that makes lactose intolerant regret being lactose intolerant in the 1^st place. It‘s oh so tasty. *sorry babe @artfel_lazo Then there is the Pork Tonkatsu, It was simply indescribable. The breading made it crispy which adds a little crunch when you bite on to it, followed by the soft pork meat the oozes with juices with every bite. I also had a try of their Beef Misono, the Beef was seasoned just right which taste-wise wasn’t too salty nor was it bland. It also had a hint of sweetness probably from the onions and Kikoman and from each bite that I take the juices permeates in your mouth! Then there was the chicken, not just any chicken it was Tokyo Tokyo’s Chicken Teriyaki, it glistens with sauce and from every bite you take, soft meat accompanied by the sweetness of the sauce meets your mouth . YUMMY!

While there we were able to see a Maki-making Demo. It showed how to make 2 diffferent Maki’s Tokyo Tokyo style! I tried making Maki before and it was difficult for me but they made it look easy. Some were even lucky enough to get hands – on in making their own Maki and it seemed really fun to make one. I wish I was the one to do that.

On the same day also, they introduced their new menu, which is the Tokyo Tokyo Burgers. The burgers are still on their way so we were not able to try it yet. But if its anything like the way they make their meals. Then I believe that it will be epic, on that note I want to try it on its release.

Tokyo Tokyo Davao branch is the first branch in VisMin region.

Unlimited Ice Cream!

I was so excited to eat at this place that offers unlimited Ice Cream! Just so you know that I'm obsessed with Ice Cream! So when one of my mom's friends, Ate Cai, told me about it I went as soon as possible to this restaurant just to check it out. And it was really true.

ICE CREAM BUFFET!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only that, even the toppings for the Ice cream are Unlimited!

I put on some chocolate syrup but it failed to make the Ice cream more yummier. I never got to try the other toppings 'cause I can't have another scoop since i'm full. Maybe I'll try on my next visit.

We had this Ice Cream buffet at Safari Grill in F. Torres Street. Near Davao Convention and Coco's.
It's not only Ice Cream that they offer but also some barbecue buffet and a whole lot more! (My excuse.. 'cause I can't name it all. hahaha)

I highly recommend this place. So visit Safari Grill now! Buffet is just 299 & everything is eat-to-sawa!

My New Fave: Coco's Pizza & House-blended Ice tea!

We had a double date last July 13 at Coco's.

Ham & Cheese. So Cheessssyyyy & hammmmyyy. lols

Before the Unlimited Ice Cream happened. We stayed at this place that has a really yummy Pizza and addicting Ice tea! And it is now one of my favorite places to go!

Ask my boyfriend of how much I love the place and food! He'll be happy to let you know how satisfied I am with the service, food and place.

Just 199 for this Pizza!

They have this promo going on every weekdays, from 2pm 'till 5pm: Selected Pizza's will be 199 and that's for the biggest size already which is good for 2. And 45php for the home-blended Ice tea that looks plain but taste really awesome! Fits the budget and tummy! Also, the potato chips that they offer taste good! My Boyfriend likes it so much ♥

Like the Golf course & Bumpcars just to name a few.

I wanna stay here!

Davao Life is Here: Second Stop, Gap Farm.

My last visit here was when I was in Nursery. And visiting this place reminds me of childhood.

One of the oldest tourist spots in Davao City. Just like Jack's Ridge, Gap Farm is one of my highly recommended places to visit when you're in the City. Never leave without visiting it. If you're a foreigner and you want to understand a little bit of "Probinsya", this is the place to visit. With its variety of statues that you will surely appreciate while walking around, I bet you'll understand right away a part of the farm culture.

The first one you'll see when you enter the gate.

The place is also good for the kids. Specially the pre-school and nursery ones. Actually, some Educational Tours are mostly held here. And I think I now know the reason why my nursery teacher decided to have our Christmas Party in this place.

Gap Farm does not only offer a nice view to look at but also offers filipino dishes & souvenirs that you will absolutely love!

And don't forget the swimming pool!

City Tourism invited us to visit different tourist spot in Davao City. They divided us in 4 groups and each group has different itineraries. And for our crew, the assigned location is the upper side of Davao. Let's start with Jacks Ridge.

Jacks Ridge is one of the ever famous tourist spot in Davao. It has always been one of the places that is mostly visited by foreigners. You can view a part of the city from up above. Not only that, it is also a nice place to celebrate special occasions.

When my Uncle got married, the reception was held here.

Jacks Ridge not only offers a good view of Durian City but it also offers a place where you can celebrate or hold different events. Name it: Pool Party, Wedding Reception, Romantic Dinner, Company Meeting, Small Concert & etc. Also, its a place where you can breathe and relax. And if you ask me, my favorite place to stay when Im in Jacks Ridge is the Karlo's Gourmet & Coffee. A Coffee Shop where I can relax and take a good look of the city.

La Esperanza, Kalibo.

This is the hotel that I've been talking about from my previous post.

Thanks to my friend who shared her room to me.. FOR FREE!

This one is not like those 5 star hotels though. But it's quite great to stay here. Pretty awesome.

Nice Bathroom and has strong wifi. And the room itself! It's great! We stayed here for 3 days and we have no problem with the service. Employees are nice and very approachable. No problem with the transpo 'cause tricycle are just outside waiting and the hotel is just next to the bus station. Not only that, there are food everywhere!

The Hotel also has a Cabled TV. So it's not so boring when you decided to just stay in and not go out for a couple of hours. And by the way, when it comes to the bathroom, it has a big bathtub. Also, the water is not that cold when you take a bath very early in the morning like I do.
So everything in this hotel is pretty pretty great! Not expensive and worth the money!

It's been a while since I wrote something for this site. Well, I have been really busy lately with work and lovelife *blush.
Luckily, I can still travel even though I'm busy with work.. yeah, mostly with that. *insert a weird smile here.

My recent Travel was in Kalibo, Aklan. I attended a religious conference there for 3 days that was really life changing. Never got to roam around that much though since conference was whole day. But I got to visit their eco-park which was pretty awesome! And also the Old Church and their awesome museum!

Travel Buddies!

We traveled this places just by riding a Tricycyle & the fare would range from 8 to 10 pesos. So Cheap!
And One thing I've noticed when we were travelling from one place to another is that the Tricycle drivers, the ones that wear vest, are honest when it comes to giving change. So be worry free when it comes to it! Lol.

Kalibo is near Caticlan where the famous Boracay is located. However, I haven't got the chance to go there since I don't have enough time. But the bus station going to Boracay is near the Hotel where we stayed at - which was nice & affordable. And i'll tell you about it on my next post.

Smallville Hotel

We were heading back to Iloilo when my friend, who made me stay in La Esperanza for free, decided to check-in in a 3-star hotel (Not pretty sure about that 'cause it looks like 5 star to me. lols). So as we set foot on the City of Iloilo, we went straight to this Hotel that was suggested by a fellow passenger whom we talked to while we were waiting for a bus.

The suggestion was not bad. Actually, it was pretty awesome! The hotel was definitely two-thumbs up.
Not that cheap but worth the penny. And we got a discount since we were just staying overnight & not really wait until check-out.

Smallville Hotel is great place to stay with family and friends. It's also a great place to spend your night alone when your are travelling by yourself. The hotel is surrounded of different establishments. So if you're lonely, just go out there and have fun.. alone! :)

We didn't take much picture while we were there 'cause we were too busy hanging out and enjoying the luxury that we could only experience once in a blue moon. hahaha!

I found this movie while I was watching a Heath Ledger film.

I thought it was kind of serious medieval but it's not.

It was funny and at the same time makes you think.

A world class seducer, that is Casanova.

Who fell inlove with someone who hates him.

But not for long.

The story is really sweet and something.

I think i'm liking Heath Ledger movies now.

By the way, everything in this movie Casanova is a fact.

Somehow.

Had a date with friends last feb 14.

And we already planned to watch this movie as soon as we saw the trailer.

Quite surprise with the story.

It was WONDERFUL!

It's also dreamy.

And just like the others, this one is really great too!

Lucy Hale is really really pretty!

So very pretty!

And the songs in the movie are catchy.

The evil step-mother could really get into your nerves.

I thought it was the musical one with Richard Gere and Penelope Cruz.

But as I played it, I was surprised.

Not the movie that I expected.

However, I continued watching it.

I've never heard this before.

But it was worth the watch.

Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom

I borrowed this book from a friend because I need something to read.

And it gave me a handful of good insights

which I will pour here.

So here it goes..

At first, I got so many questions about what's happening in each story.

then slowly.. I got some queries answered because of the explanations that were stated throughout.

And I can relate to some of the stories given, which gave me instant answers and better comprehension of different situations.

It made me realize a lot things.

It gave me hope to almost anything.

And with God.

I am so grateful that I have read this because I really need something that will inspire me.

And if it wasn't for this book.

I would have not found what I really wanna do.

This book made me understand that I am really capable of change.

And that people who knew my past are the ones who is holding me back.

They might find the change unbelievable and might misunderstood me as pretentious..

But I should care less.

Yes.. they know my past. But it doesn't mean that I can't change.

And when it comes to helping others.

It should come from the heart.

We should also complain less about what's happening in our life 'cause we are too lucky already that God gave us "everyday" to live.

And something to eat, somewhere to live and money to spend.

Think of the homeless people. The incapacitated. The low class society.

God put us here, to where we are now for a particular reason.
And that reason might be helping the person next to you.

The Big Bang Theory

At first, I didn't understand why a show is named after a theory.

But now I get it.

I thought the show would be boring but i was so wrong.

If you are into sarcasm and intelligent answers then this show is for you.

You'll experience hemorrhage on the first few episodes but it'll stop when you are already used to their impeccable lines. lol.

Hands down to the writers of this show.

For me, it's kinda hard to come up with smart statements just like Sheldon's

but they did a really great job on that.

And now, he's my favorite.

They are on their 5th season and I wanna get there now.

Almost done with Season 2, can't wait for 3.

& I'm Half-way there!

The Last Song

I'm sort of a Miley fan..

And I watched this because of her.

But for everyone, it is because of Nicholas Sparks.

Because it's one of his famous works.

Sad to say, I'm not a fan of him.

But I admire his creations.

Pretty awesome!

So, I bet almost everybody have watched this.

But I still wanna give a few comments on this one.

Or at least a comment.

It's a nice coming-of-age movie.

Any teenager can relate to this.

Being rebellious and all.
Gives you this I've-been-there kind of feeling.

I'm sure a lot of people went through those stuffs and can really relate.

And I am one of them.

Going back to the movie..
Well, it has a good plot.
But should have been much better if it was played by anyone rather than Cyrus.
Don't get me wrong.
She did well in being a rebellious daughter.
But as Liams girlfriend, that's another story.
And Liam was kinda lame.
Not feeling him in this movie.

Aside from that, I like the realization part of the film.
And thank God, there's no antagonist bitch all throughout the movie.
So common.

The one who played the father of Miley, Greg Kinnear, Well.. he did good.
Suits him.
Also the kid that played as Miley's brother.
They are the only 2 actors that, I think, fits the character that they are portraying.

But overall,
I like the movie
despite of the things that can upset a viewer.
