My girls love watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse – they love seeing Mickey and friends go on adventures and solve mysteries.   The gang’s newest adventure Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Quest for the Crystal Mickey is now available on DVD.

This new story takes them on a quest to find the Crystal Mickey and restore magic to the clubhouse.  ‘Kansas City Mickey’ travels through the Sandy Desert, the Rushing River and Hidden Jungle, all while avoiding Plunderin’ Pete’s antics.

Besides the featured episode -Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Quest for the Crystal Mickey, this DVD includes over two hours of programming. Other episodes include – Donald of the Desert, Donald the Genie, Goofy’s Coconutty Monkey and Goofy’s Giant Adventure.

There’s nothing better than a fun weekend with no plans.  We made our usual trip to the arts market on Saturday for a picnic along the riverfront.

That afternoon, Maggie and Dad had errands to run and when they came home Maggie yelled, “Mom, I have a surprise for you that I’m not supposed to tell you about… but it’s a cake.”

Our local Publix grocery store had mini-cakes for sale and let kids decorate them right there in the store.  How fun is that?!  Maggie was so proud of her cake!  It was pretty tasty too!

Sunday morning, I woke up to a nice surprise -  a fancy, new Sony NEX-5R camera! So, needless to say, I spent my day playing with the girls and taking lots and lots of pictures.  The perfect way to spend a day.

This upcoming week is going to be pretty hectic, I’ve got a few projects for my VISIT FLORIDA job to finish up and some traveling to do too.  So, a quiet weekend at home was just what I needed.

And who wouldn’t want to spend time with silly girls like these…  Maggie was trying to get Molly to smile for the camera.

It’s Mother’s Day weekend! Do you have big plans?  Pending the weather, I think we are going to the zoo and spend the day playing outside.  Nothing too fancy here.   For now… let’s do a little Five Question Friday fun! Be sure and share your answers in the comments below!

What’s the one personal hygiene thing you will not do in front of your spouse?  The bathroom is my place.  Closed door… always.

 What’s your favorite thing about a newborn?  I love little baby fat rolls and their little soft skin.  And I love the smell of new babies – except the diaper part.

When is “too young” to have a Facebook account?  Doesn’t the Facebook TOS state that you must be 13 years old?  Regardless, I think thirteen is a good age for a kid to have a Facebook account – as long as the parents have access to it.

What are you hoping for this Mother’s Day?  I’ve been drooling over this Sony NEX-5r camera for awhile now.  I don’t think I’ll get it, but it’s good to dream big right?!   I’m really just hoping to sleep in, maybe a yummy breakfast and a fun day at the zoo with my hubby and sweet babies.

What was the best field trip you took in school?  My senior year in high school, the AP government class went to President Clinton’s inauguration in Washington, DC.  I wasn’t in the AP class, but thankfully the teacher liked me and I got to go.  It was an amazing trip to see DC and be a part of history.

Seattle has been high on my bucket list of cities to visit for years.  And prior to my trip to Seattle last month as a member of the Windows Champions program, I never thought I’d make it there.   It’s not exactly a quick trip from sunny Florida.  However, if you get the chance – it’s a trip that is worth taking.

And if you find yourself traveling to Seattle, you’ve gotta stay at the Hotel 1000, located in Downtown just a few blocks from the popular Pike Place Market. This modern hotel is in a convenient location, has a wonderfully friendly staff and it feels like a boutique hotel, rather than a big chain property.

Technology

I knew I was at an amazing hotel when I was greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne at check-in!  How cool is that?!  And then, I walked in my room and was overwhelmed at how spacious it was and I loved all of the modern touches!  The hotel was featured recently by CNN as one of America’s 10 highest-tech hotels!

The electronic “Do Not Disturb” notification was pretty impressive.  With the touch of a button, I could notify housekeeping if I was ready for my room to be cleaned or when I needed privacy.  And hooray for free wi-fi.  Sometimes when wi-fi is free, that means it’s extra slow and a bad connection – but the Hotel 1000 connection was super fast.

My Bathtub…Yes, Bathtub!

And as much as I love technology, I couldn’t get over the enormous bathtub!   Isn’t that every mom’s dream…  an amazing bathtub to relax in at the end of a long day?  Well that’s exactly what I did during my stay, with the complimentary rubber duckie. (And yes, there’s a privacy screen if that window makes you uncomfortable.)  My room had a huge walk-in shower too.

I could relax in the bathtub and see the water and the ferry boats.  How’s that for relaxing?  The cool thing about this bathtub – the water faucet was in the ceiling and the button to adjust the temperature was on the wall.  So high tech!

Amenities and Perks

More of the cool amenities at the Hotel 1000 included an in-house spa called Spaahh!  (love that name!), the BOKA Restaurant & Bar located just steps from the lobby and an indoor golf range – in a virtual setting.  My room also had a huge 40′ inch television screen that was so much more than for watching my favorite shows. There was a beautiful photo album displayed and Windows channels accessible from the home screen. And for those of us with four-legged friends, this hotel is pet-friendly!

I hope I have the chance to return to Seattle one day.  If I do, I know exactly where I’m staying…  Hotel 1000. And this time, I’m going to make time for the Spaahh!
