Hello lovelies,

I know it has been awhile. Don't judge me. This week has been crazyyyy! The end of the semester is here and eating me up and spitting me out. Speaking of which. I am currently avoiding a 10 page monster, and the parentals are going to be here in four days! Which means I cannot avoid it for much longer. Or can I? One good thing about my dad is he is an excellent writer.... yes people, the thought of him writing it for me just crossed my mind. Once again, don't judge me I promise I wont think of it again. In the midst of this craziness we did get to enjoy a beautiful Saturday with beautiful people. I'm telling you I'm in love. I'm in love with one day hot and the next day snowing Rexburg. I'm in love with the fact that in 14 days I will be on an island soaking up some rays. I'm in love with the fact that three weeks worth of laundry is done. I'm in love with the fact my parents are coming in four days! I'm in love with the fact that I am the newest employee at the Hart Fitness center here on campus.

But mostly I'm in the love with this goober.

pillow talk

Pillow talk is the best. Especially when you originally start at 8 and then fall asleep until midnight and then wake up and do some homework watch your favorite show and then resume pillow talk at 2. And over here by 2 were pretty slap happy. And can we all agree any conversation is better when your slap happy? We like to talk about aliens and huge telescopes and giving each other the butt. Which is the worst. It happens when husband decides he wants to be the little spoon for once but you don't give in so you roll over to your respective sides and wait for the other person to budge. Following the stand off that lasts no longer than 30 seconds, you both roll over and meet in the middle. Immediately following that, a series of loud laughter abrupts and in that second you know your neighbors hate you. And then comes your alarm bright and early and then you hate yourselves too. But then we quickly realize this small problem of exhaustion can easily be fixed. So we fixed it, with a tall glass of orange juice and some deliciouussss homemade blueberry waffles which obviously had to be scarfed down in point 2 seconds. Due to the fact we were running late. And this my friends was our week. Late nights and rushed mornings. But today is Saturday. And we didn't get out of bed until noon, moseyed to cal-ranch to look at the baby chicks, stopped at some tool stores for my sweet husband to window shop and volunteered at the latino conference of eastern-Idaho. Tonight we will be munching on all sorts of festive food colored food and will not be waking up hungover like the majority of the rest of the population. In our church we believe in the word of wisdom. Which is really for the best. Who wants to gain an extra 20 pounds from drinking beer this close to swimsuit season?

Lets be honest. Winter has a way of staying in Rexburg and so do homework assignments. Which can really bring a girls attitude down. Especially when it is supposed to be 65 in her homeland all week! What also can bring a girls attitude down is the fact that there was not a lick of sun out this morning when Husbands alarm went off. Anyways you can see where I am going here. Life is out to get me. Atleast I thought it was until I got this sweet email this morning.

I nannyed the sweetest kids back in wisconsin. There were 7 of 'em. And I loved every single of them. I miss them beyond what words can explain. I cannot wait to see their beautiful faces again! And with that, the universe is in order yet again. And I have this to say to you cloudy, cold, dreary, assignment filled Rexburg: See if your nasty weather and obnoxious amounts of assignments bring me down.

Well. Remember how my ads were removed? Yeah, I am trying to block it out of my mind to! Oh heavens. There goes our airplane, I wanna get my nails done, carwash, special treat money. At least this girls ads were removed too. You know what they say: misery enjoys company. Especially when she is in the family. Anyways, that is all that really went on over by us. I wish I had some amazing story to grace you all with however I don't. Except we are going to see our good friends and their new baby tomorrow. Let me tell you I cannot wait to hold that little Roselyn! Let me also tell you, in no way do we have baby fever. Well okay maybe a little. 2 years will fly by fast enough right? Right. Anyways we took a super fun trip with them to California last winter. Yes, We love to take trips. Especially with fun couples! Anyone want to cruise with us to the Bahamas April 2013? Sorry group. This week it gets a little pg-13. But remember when you were a little kid and the S-e-x word was something you tiptoed around, and then when you were a little older your parents sat you down and gave you the awkward birds and the bees talk? Well actually I dont remember any of that because, mad props to my parents, we never had the awkward talk. It was a wide open topic and there was never any blushing involved. Some days I look back and am like shoot I can't believe half the things we talked about at our dinner table. Anywho I am sure some of you can relate to scenario one and some can relate to scenario two. Which ever way you remember it, in class this week we had that coversation again. Except this time we are all adults, and it wasnt the how it works it was more why it works. In marriage, having a healthy active sex life is a good predictor of how your marriage is going. According to my teacher who is also a family therapist, the majority of patients who hadn't been intimate in years and were on the verge of divorce were encouraged to begin being intimate once again. A simple back rub, a kiss longer than a two second peck and even a hug were where they were to begin. These patients who followed the instructions were once again satisfied and their marriages were in tact. The big S word is meant to fortify a marriage. It is meant to bring trust, pleasure, and communication into a lawfully wedded companionship. Welp. Now im blusing because I don't really know how to all of a sudden just change the subject to the fact that yesterday we did absolutely nothing except for sit on the couch all day. And by all day I mean we literally didn't move until 6 which then we got up to go get an asphalt pie, and the night before that we went out and got the most amazing oreopie shake and immediatly came home and ate it in our bed. Call us fatties, call us bums, call us introverts. We call ourselves practicing for our vacation to the island. Which all we will do is eat all sorts of dessrets and lay on the beach. (with the occasional parasailing adventure, kyaking adventure and tandum bike adventure). 6 WEEKS my friends 6 weeks.

Happy Weekend lovelies.
It seems like we wait for these suckers all week and then they get here and then they are gone. This weekend however, we were not happily anticipating. Mainly because it was midterm week. I suppose I should rephrase. We are totally excited for sunday and monday. But so far our plans for today consist of the testing center so husband can take his calculus test, which he is gonna rock, nevertheless, the testing center still sucks. And then his cute self is gonna plant himself right into a chair at the library and not move until princess charming comes to rescue him at approximately five. Princess charming would be me. Ask husband. I am especially charming in the morning when I announce he needs to get out of bed and bring me home an ice cream cone. His response was pulling the covers over his head. So I took that as a no and am still currently waiting for that miracle. I on the other hand and going to sit right here in my pajamas and play catch up on a couple assignments in the comfort of my own bed. Lets be honest. I work better with a oversized tee and XL sweatpants on in my bed. I am sure some kind of important scientific study proves otherwise, you know that you work better in a designated area. But to them I say WRONGO. Now that we have discussed the negatives of midterms, lets discuss the positives. We are on a downward slope to the end of the semester. Which means: Deb and Rich, only the most hysterical parents ever, show their faces in this tiny town here in 40 days. Pao, Dal, Man and I leave for the first vacation ever in 47 days. And to answer your question. Yes, we are gonna draw those ridicules hearts in the sand with our intials in it and think we are so clever and precious. And last but not least Makenzie Marie Loefke will be here for second block in a mere 48 hours. This girl is an angel. Yes she flew from California to Wisconsin, not once, but twice in 2 months. All for the wedding. Once for the bridal shower and once for the actual wedding. She my dears, has a knack for decorating and making things beautiful. She and I have had quite the times together and I cannot wait for her to get her bum back here! It has been far to long. My question to you amazing people is: is it five yet? I am ready to get my weekend on. Hope your weekend is not full of test taking and playing catch up with your homework, rather, snowboarding down a mountain, booking the hotel for your trip and eating a delicious chocolate ice cream cone. You know I love ya!

Well my lovelies,
Whitney Houston is dead. Which means a big part of my life is dead. Well at least a good nine months of my life. Lets take it back to high school shall we. There I was dancing my little heart out. There we were 24 girls dancing over and over to "How Will I Know?" by Whitney Houston. Perfecting it. Drilling it. Loving it. Hating it. Eating, sleeping and drinking it. I kinda miss those days like crazy. I am sure those of you who were in a high school athletic can relate. Your teammates , whether you like it or not become part of you. Let me also share a sentimental moment with you. Stay with me here. The six girls that graduated with me and danced with me, probably my heros. Probably some of my best friends. Girls who really saw you at your best and worst. Who suffered those nasty sock buns, tights, and bright red lipstick. Girls who you had the best laughs with, the most inside jokes with, and the joys of victories with. Girls who also talked trash with you about the latest boy who did you wrong, and the girl he did you wrong with. Girls who showed up to your wedding reception without the slightest hesitation, even though it was on a thursday night and those smarty pants's had class on friday. Now lets not forget about those coaches as well, who put up with the drama and tears and sometimes bad attitudes. Those same coaches who showed up to your wedding reception. The ones who you admire so much and who taught you some of the most important life lessons. Yep, a big shout out to all of them! Miss you guys. Come visit me? You cannot put a value on people in your life. I have been blessed with the most amazing people in my life. I have the most supportive and fabulous husband. Some of the best friends from wisconsin who have left a huge footprint on my heart and taught me about true friendship. Outstanding friends in Idaho who motivate me to be my best, who constantly provide me with support. And last but definitely not least a wonderful family, scattered from Washington State all the way to Wisconsin. Love you guys. Well now thats over with. Are you still with me? Good. When You Give A Girl A Fast Car

When you give a girl a fast car, nothing good will come out of it. Especially if said girl aspires to be Danicka Patrick. The nothing good will come out of it has a name. His name is Officer Pepples. I tried explaining to him I was late to get to work. (which he could clearly see with my sopping wet hair, half eaten banana and frazzled look.) After showing no sympathy and closely examining my license he tried explaining to me that he could charge me with a misdemeanor. Whoa Whoa Whoa. I know what your thinking how does late for work and misdemeanor go together? Well I was speeding a little. Right. Thats it. Just a little. But I would like to remind you again that we have a fast car and some days I wish I was Danicka Patrick and sometimes the bare Idaho roads tempt me to act like her, especially when I am running late. Anyways back to the no good. Officer Pepples was not the most friendly Officer in the bunch. Nope. In fact, he was probably the grouchiest. He let me know, very clearly mind you, I was in violation of the state law by not having an Idaho license but being the "good man" he is, he would just add a fine onto my already large ticket. Racking that sucker up to 150.00 dollars. Now the question is who really has a spare 150 buckaroos. We don't. So I am going to go see the judge and plea my case and if push comes to shove cry a little. And in the end i'll hopefully get that sucker reduced. Desperate times call for desperate measures and this is a desperate time people. Now heres the difference between boys and girls (which just so happens to be what we learned about in class this week.) Husband I am sure, tried to be very calm and tried reminding himself he loved me, and a ticket is not the end of the world. However, boys don't have the outstanding verbal skills women have. So he sat there and looked at me and then looked down and repeated this action several times. Once the boy started finally talking I got a looonggg talking to. I got the I told you not to speed. I told you to be careful. You need to be nice to the car. Speeding down the highway does not conserve gas. Once he was exasperated he went and layed on the bed which was my cue to quickly make dinner. So I did. I made tacos like nobody business. And after that all our problems were solved. Like you know when you watch little boys on the playground stop playing, because somebody broke the rules, and then they are clarified and then they pick up the game again. That was us. There was a time out, rules were clarified, and then the game was back in session. In a family we each have our roles we play based off of gender. This week in our apartment was a perfect example. On the husbands side there was a lot of well lets fix this, and a little protection and a tiny bit of aggression. Over here on my side there was lots of emotions and trying to talk my way out of being in trouble and cuddling and being able to recall exactly what the officer said to me. But it ended alright. The Wehrhahn girls took Rexburg by storm with our men. We hit up costa vida and played some skittle bowling and just had a marvelous time without one mention of the ticket. Happy weekend lovelies. I am going to go have lunch with THIS girl and then have a low key night at home with the husband full of puppy chow/muddy buddies pillows, blankets and a movie. Hope your week was full of bliss and your weekend is full of relaxation.

Mad props

Oh Heyyy!
Let me just begin by answering the questions on all of your minds: No husband did not try killing me this week. Although, we did many other things... swam a mile, set a new goal to run an 8 minute mile, ate mexican, and more mexican and then more mexican, an epic trip to the laundry mat, and learning how to do some serious time management. We managed to play with our good friends all weekend and get some homework done to. Mad props to us! Well more mad props to husband because I went to get a pedicure and ran into this cute girl! Perfect timing is what that is ladies and gentleman. Because let.me.tell.you: she did an excellent job selling Paola and I on our double date vacation to this beautiful place :) April can hurry up now. April can also hurry up because that is when the most fantastic parents come into town. NINE weeks those lovelies will be here in my very apartment. NINE WEEKS! Yes, it is clearly evident I am a mommas girl. I talk to that woman every day. That woman has really defied all odds. This week in class we talked about social class and how it effects you and the statistics for your future. My mom, grew up in the "ghetto", in a one parent home and took care of her siblings. She worked for everything she had growing up. In the "lower" class the marriage divorce rate is skyrocketing. Many people in circumstances similar to the one my mom grew up in, never had a model to show how a parent should act, or how a healthy relationship should look. Many peoples faith in the institution of marriage and family is dwindling. A lot of times there is such a desegregation in marriage and family and our society just accepts it. We accept it so much that we can make movies about it. Like this little clip from baby mama. Now I love this movie just as much as the next, but the sad reality is that this type of reality is becoming more the norm. Having a baby and being married no longer go hand in hand. So I guess the real mad props this week go to my mom for beating the statics and being happily married. For her to rise above the odds and marry a man who helped her raise a family where the belief in marriage and family is strong and intact.

The week I almost died.

Hello Lovelies.

We have a lot to talk about. Where should we start? Should we start on monday, when husband tried killing me? Or fast-forward to Thursday and Friday when I started with my new nanny family. Right, the nanny family. I agree. Well they are super cute. The momma of the family is a photographer, she's opening her own studio. Her babies are equally as cute. I spent most of the day friday playing with play-dough and tickling and play shopping. Let the good times roll is always what I say. Now lets get back to Monday. Being the good wife I am, for christmas I bought husband a season pass to Targhee. Being the good husband he is, he bought me bright yellow snow pants, a blue checkered coat and boots. We were set for the season. In the past we have always had an enjoyable run. This specific monday however was not as enjoyable as most. That was until I saw husbands snowboard go flying down the mountain... without husband. Let me set the scene. After a few runs down the baby slope, he decided I was ready to go to the top. I hesitantly obliged, once we got to the top I had a minor freak out. It was cold and blustery and one slight move to the right, there I would be falling off the Teton Mountain. Talk about the staring death in the eye. Anyways, there I was at the top, sitting. And there was husband 100 feet in front of me down the mountain, ready to go. When he quickly concluded I was not getting up, he unstrapped his board and came to my rescue, all prince charming like. (minus the prince charming and plus a really cold, hungry man.) When in all the near death, traumatic experience husbands board goes flying down the mountain and quickly turned the mood into joyful, only the joy was only in my heart. Upon recovering his snowboard and finally making it down the mountain. He shot me one look and we walked silently to the car. We stayed silent until we had to decided if we still loved each other enough to stop for dinner. And ladies and gentleman. Let me tell you: we are still happily married and totally in love. After some good pizza pie cafe and a warm comfy bed all bitterness was forgotten. In class we talked about all different sorts of theories and the way relationships and families work. One of them for instance was symbolic interaction. We all know what this is. It is what different phrases or actions mean to you and how you react to them. For instance the word shut up. In my house the word shut up was more of a loving, are you serious, I can't believe it statement rather than a harsh be quiet. When the husband and I went snowboarding monday and he shot me the look, I knew real fast in that in his house that meant don't even test me right now, lets go. There is all sorts of theories. There is the exchange theory: cost versus rewards. There is the system theory: You know the unspoken rules. And another one the conflict theory: something you have to deal with. At one point in a relationship or another we will be part in all these theories. Kinda crazy huh? Think it over. Learn it, love it. Hope you all had a blissful week topped off with Lasagna and bread and corn and cake and games. Oh wait, that was us. Either way hope it was lovely!

What's Love Got To Do With It?

Well look at this here we are at a new semester! I have a feeling its going to be a crazy one. A crazyy but good one! Being a newlywed for four months everything is so exciting. COOKING dinner: exciting. Making OUR bed: exciting. Cleaning OUR apartment: exciting. Going on double MARRIED dates with Paola and Dallin: exciting. ( check those cuties out here) Waking up to my best friend EVERY morning: exciting. Saying HUSBAND: exciting. I want to be sure that when we have been married in forty years we will still be as excited as we were at four months. We want to raise a happy and successful family. In family 160 we talked about how in Denmark, kids, I'm talking 14 here, have the opportunity to move out of their homes and are given the "necessity's" by the government. By necessity's I mean that country over there by Germany gives them a large T.V., gaming system, a comfy bed, yummy food and no restrictions. Lets be honest here at the age of 14,15,16 who wouldn't want to move out into these luxury apartments? It is every kids dream, and every societies nightmare. Lets talk about this: Who raises these kids? Who teaches them morals? Who teaches them right from wrong? Who shows them unconditional love. My parents taught me right from wrong, how to have morals and how to build strong healthy relationships. In my family we spent a couple weeks in the North woods of Wisconsin, took a couple trips to Disney, Road-tripped to Utah, played a couple rounds of Wii Bowling in the living room, painted a few bedrooms, had a couple food fights, disagreements, arguments and we have all had to make a couple compromises. My parents have shown me how to have a healthy strong marriage. Where do these kids get those opportunities? Where are they shown unconditional love? When they grow to an age when they should be marrying, many of them do not feel ready and miss out on this. And who would want to miss out on that?
Happy weekend loves. Go spend some time with your family. I know husband and I are going to spend some quality time up at Targhee snowboarding down the mountain!
