Getting around in a store or in a mall for an hour at a time can be difficult if you are not feeling well, or if you are experiencing any type of pain. You can put the pain and the discomfort behind you using a scooter. A scooter gives you the mobility you have been dreaming about so you can shop. From groceries, to holiday shopping, or just personal shopping you can take your scooter along, and enjoy your day out of the house.

Advantages Of Owning A Scooter Are Vast, But Different For Every Person

The advantages of owning a scooter include the ability to be self-dependent. You dont want to wait for your children to take you shopping or do your shopping for you, but with a scooter, you can get out and do it yourself still.

A scooter can be used to take you to the store. If you live in town or near the store, you can ride your scooter to the store, shop while riding the scooter and carry your goods home on your scooter. A scooter is a great method of giving those who are unable to walk or those who are unable to walk long distances the ability to be self-dependent.

While owning your own scooter, you dont have to disinfect a scooter in the store where you are shopping. Sometimes accidents and spills will happen in the retail setting leaving you with a scooter that may not be clean, sanitized. If you were to purchase your own scooter, you will feel more comfortable.

Using your own scooter also means you have the advantage of always having a scooter that is fully charged and ready to go. Often times those who are disabled will enter retail centers only to find the scooters are out of power, and are useless. To provide yourself the freedom of mobility with a fully charged scooter, bring along your own scooter and leave all the worries behind you.

Owning your own scooter gives you the choice of knowing and being familiar with the scooter you are riding. Riding a scooter you are not familiar can often times be a little awkward as you learn the controls. The retail scooters are big, bulky and will not cut corners very well. Using your own scooter is going to allow you the freedom to travel in the retail setting while still feeling comfortable. You make the personal seat adjustments to your scooter, adjust the handle bars and the controls to your personal liking, and the scooter settings will stay that way, because you are the only one who is using your scooter. Your personal scooter is just like your car, your personal transportation.

Industrial engines. They are still used by several manufacturers (most notably Blata on their entry level bike) and typically produce between 2.5 and 3.5 horse power (hp). All are air-cooled. Tuning and performance parts are very limited.

The Chinese 47/49cc. These engines are used in the Chinese made mk2, and mk3 minimotos. They are air cooled and produce between 2.5 and 3.5 horse power (hp). This engine is different from the industrial engine that is used in the Blata, as it is specifically created for mini moto use.

Polini 4.2 engine. This is the basic Polini engine and, as its name suggests, it produces 4.2 hp in standard form. It is air-cooled and uses the series I crankcase with the 3-port cylinder. There is plenty of scope and parts for tuning but few people bother because most racing classes for the 4.2 wont allow any modifications.

Polini 6.2 engine. The top end of this engine is the same as the 4.2 (3-port) but is available with either water or air-cooling. The bottom end uses the series II crankcase. This helps to make it more powerful. Race regulations dont allow modification to the engine internals but do allow performance parts, the most significant being the exhaust. There are a wide range of alternative exhausts that year after year manage to extract more power from the engine. Consequently the 6.2 tag no longer means anything, these little rockets (more often referred to as production nowadays) claim power outputs of up to 9hp.

The Chinese made water cooled engine. This engine is very similar to the Polini 6.2 however it is a series 1 crankcase engine. The engine is water cooled and is used in the Origami B1 replica. The engine produces around 7.5/8.5 horse power (hp) Many of the parts on this engine are interchangeable with the Polini.

Whats the difference between the series I and series II crankcase?. Fuel is drawn from the carb into the crankcase via a one-way valve known as the reed valve. The intake port (where the reed valve and carb join the engine) on the series I engine will only accommodate a reed valve assembly with one reed petal whereas the series II will take a reed valve cage that accommodates two reed petals. A two-petal reed valve will allow more fuel mixture to flow into the engine and, therefore, produces more power.

Polini Super engine. The super also uses the series two crankcase but with a 5-port cylinder. It is only available in water cooled now but used to come as air cooled as well. To compete with Polini, Mallossi manufacture an alternative 5-port cylinder. There are no restrictions on tuning supers and with engine porting, bigger carbs and other performance parts they can be turned into awesome machines (for their size) easily producing 12hp.

What is meant by 3 and 5 port?. This refers to the amount of transfer ports built into the cylinder. The transfer ports draw the fuel mixture up from the crankcase and dump it above the piston prior to ignition. A five-port cylinder has potential to produce more power.

40cc or 50cc. The 3 port engines are only available in 40cc. The 5 port cylinder comes in both 40 and 50cc. ZPF offer a tuned 5-port polini cylinder with their own special cylinder head. The extra cc gives 25% more displacement and, therefore, has the potential for more power. 50s are more common in the USA but they’re catching on fast in the UK. The UK now allows them to race in championships.

The Polini engine components are interchangeable, which can make for some interesting combinations. However, people dont tend to bother because of class restrictions and it is usually easier to upgrade the whole bike or change the complete engine.

General Motors Saturn division is hard at work on building a replacement for its small SUV, the Saturn VUE. Currently based strictly on U.S. technology, the 2008 VUE is expected to be heavily based on Opel technology: Opel is General Motors principal European brand. This is good news for those who were concerned that GM would ditch the Saturn VUE. Instead, the SUV will get new life and additional support via its new relationship with Opel. While it is too early to know all the details about the upcoming Saturn VUE makeover, there are some things we do know about this revamped model.

Ever since Saturn released the first S Series models back in 1990, the company has struggled to maintain a unique identity. Neglected by parent GM, the upstart Saturn brand had to wait nearly a decade before additional vehicles were added to its line including the Saturn VUE SUV. Along with the L Series midsize cars, the three vehicle lines [ION having replace the S Series] fully comprised the Saturn line for several years. Unfortunately, none of the three models were stand out performers, so the brand suffered accordingly.

With the demise of Oldsmobile has come new life for Saturn. Now a fully integrated GM division, Saturn is getting additional vehicles to help beef up its line up. Drawing upon its highly regarded dealer network and high consumer satisfaction scores, Saturn is being quickly remade into a European style division. Saturn has Opel to thank for that.

Along with the coming Aura midsize sedan which is heavily based on an Opel design, the Saturn VUE will be based upon the Opel Antera GTC. An Antera concept has been making the rounds of auto shows across Europe and what we know about the Antera points to what we can expect to see with the VUE.

The Antera is slightly smaller in size than the current Saturn VUE; although the Antera reportedly will have only two doors, the Saturn VUE model will get four doors. Both vehicles are closer in size to the current Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V models, their chief competitors. This smaller size also permits Saturn to introduce a slightly larger 7 passenger SUV next year, the Outlook.

The 2008 Saturn VUE will feature both four and six cylinder gas powered engines. Expect both AWD and RWD to be offered. The Anteras front end will be redone to mesh with the current Saturn look. Beyond that, the VUE will likely incorporate current GM technology with upgraded safety and performance features included. A base price of around $20,000 for the FWD model is likely with fully loaded AWD versions retailing for as high as $30K.

The 2008 Saturn VUE will be built in Spring Hill, TN home of the original Saturn plant. Along with the Outlook, the Aura, the SKY roadster, the RELAY crossover, and the ION compact, new life is being breathed into Saturn thanks to Opel. This is good news for Saturn fans that have loyally supported the automaker since its inception more than 15 years ago.

In the current market, there are several ways for one to get help in paying for a nice, personal vehicle. Banks, dealerships, financing groups, and, nowadays, even the Internet have gotten in on the act. However, there is an emerging increase in online auto loan applications, likely due to the reputed convenience and speed by which these institutions are characterized. These online auto loan applications websites can be very competitive with one another, as well as with their real world counterparts. As such, it is not unusual for them to offer competitive rates and terms that are easier on the pocket that a bank or car dealership would.

In previous years, a history of bad credit, declarations of bankruptcy, and default on loans meant that a person was not fit to be given money or be approved for any sort of financing deal. While this still holds true at the core, several online auto loan applications specialists have found ways to work around those limitations. The blatant disregard for past credit history is currently not the standard by which the industry works but it is becoming a trend among the websites that have decided to specialize in the car financing field.

Previously, getting a financing deal approved was seen as both an activity which took up too much time and was far too complicated a procedure. However, with online auto loan applications, the process has become faster. Online lenders can easily check into an applicant’s financial history, based on the information provided to them on the applications on the company’s websites. After a few minutes of checking, these online lending organizations can easily determine whether or not one’s credit rating is acceptable enough for them to loan the money needed to get that car the buyer is interested in. The online environment also makes it faster for these online financing groups to actually transfer the money to the buyer, making the time between the application and the buyer receiving the money far shorter.

Another bonus is that online auto loan applications tend to have lower interest rates than a bank or a real world equivalent. These rates are results of the drive for competition between these online lending companies, as well as competition with banks, dealerships, and real world lending organizations. While the tendency to vary interest rates has currently been adopted by online lending groups, it is not as widespread as it is in car dealerships. However, the interest rates and the terms of the loan are all determined primarily by two factors. The first factor is the potential buyer’s credit rating. The second factor would be the actual amount that the buyer is actually asking for.

While by no means perfect, online auto loan applications are fast becoming the norm for people who are intent on purchasing a car, be it used or new. As with their real world counterparts, knowing one’s credit score is essential in successfully completing one’s online auto loan applications. There are also some risks involved, even though most websites have taken security measures to make sure that no identity theft is made. That does not mean the consumer can be lax in preventing such theft on their end, however. Regardless of the risks, the benefits of convenience, speed, and flexibility offered by the online lending companies is far more tempting than the prospect of having to drive over to an office and discuss things, only to end up feeling as if one’s time was wasted.

So you want to go on a motorcycle road trip to Sturgis this year. You’ve made all of the travel arrangements for the trip. You have your hotel room reserved. You have the local hot spots during the week all mapped out. Your job knows that you are taking your vacation. Everything is set. Or is it? Did you remember to pack everything?

When planning any motorcycle road trip, it is good to plan what and how you are going to pack your motorcycle. Make a list of supplies you are going to need . Lay out everything and check off the items on your list as you pack them into your motorcycle luggage. Remember to take an extra change of clothing, just in case. Pack your motorcycle rain suit in last, so that you can get to it easily. The last thing you want is to have to search for your gear in the rain.

Take the time to research different motorcycle repair shops along your route. Keep a list of these shops in your wallet, or even better in your motorcycle tool bag. You did remember to pack that right? Take as many tools that you might need for any minor repairs. A phillips and standard screwdriver, a pair of needle nose pliers, some cable ties, a couple of combination wrenches that fit majority of the sizes on your motorcycle, and a repair manual might even be handy too.

Make sure to pack some easy to eat snacks for the road. Granola bars, trail mix, and candy bars are a good idea. You can also purchase MREs, (Meals Ready to Eat), from a local army surplus store, and use these on the road as a quick meal. Use a large gallon sized sealing bag to store your food to keep the mess to a minimum.

A road map is essential. You can buy folding maps for the trip, no matter your destination. Even better, consider buying a navigation system for your motorcycle. These are great, and can be easily adapted to work with your motorcycle. If you don’t want to use a navigation system, consider using a cell phone with broadband internet access, to use free services like Google maps or Mapquest.

Think about the other essentials of the road. Personal toiletries like travel sized tooth brush, tooth paste, shampoo, soap, and deodorant can all be obtained and stored in a small travel bag, easily stored in your motorcycle luggage. Consider even packing a small roll of toilet paper, for when nature calls, and you are in the middle of nowhere. You are going to some remote locations at times right?

When packing your motorcycle luggage, try to keep the weight balanced on each side of the motorcycle. You don’t want to have a bike that wants to lean to one side or the other. Taking a long trip with a lopsided motorcycle will wear you out quickly as you try to fight to keep the motorcycle upright. The best way to do this, is to have someone help you pack the luggage, while you balance the motorcycle. After packing, take your motorcycle out for a short test ride, and make adjustments.

Mercedes has long looked at the entire U.S. auto market as fair game, meaning it is not just a place where it can sell luxury vehicles, but a place to market low budget vehicles too. Unknown to some American motorists, the Mercedes name is much broader than simply being a luxury make. Like its German rival, Volkswagen, Mercedes sells cars in Europe that compete directly against the Golf as well as against the luxurious VW Phaeton. Still, introducing a budget Benz to America is a psychological hurdle that parent DaimlerChrysler is delaying making a commitment to. Lets take a look at the proposed B Class and the reasons why the model not make it to the U.S. anytime soon.

For starters, the proposed B Class is based upon Mercedes A Class line of cars. Okay, that tells you a lot! In short, the A Class is a true line of compact cars that are popular in Europe. If you were to give serious consideration to purchasing a Volkswagen Golf you would consider the A Class to be its logical competitor. A slightly larger model, the B Class, makes better use of engine placement and design to produce a car that isnt much larger than the A Class on the outside, but is almost as roomy as the S Class is on the inside [when configured as a wagon].

Beyond all of that, the B Class will be built with Mercedes electronic stability program and come equipped with more standard features of any car in its class. Basically, the B Class would be about the size of a Rabbit with all the typical Mercedes gadgets and trim that Mercedes owners prefer. So, if the B Class were to sell in the U.S., most models would likely retail for around $25,000, which is well above the price of a fully loaded Golf.

Published reports via automotive sites and blogs are indicating that the car may not make it to the U.S. due to several concerns. These include:

Cost factor. Mercedes lost plenty of money in 2005 and the company is doing all it can to return to profitability as soon as possible. Preparing any car for the U.S. market takes time and costs money; DaimlerChrysler is loathe to expend money

There are a number of reasons to consider leasing a vehicle and, of course, a number of reasons to consider buying a vehicle. These reasons are very different from one another because, naturally, buying a car is significantly different from leasing a vehicle. For the time being, the attention will be focused on the advantages of leasing a vehicle as it stacks up versus the other options of automobile purchasing and ownership.

Some of the potential advantages to leasing a vehicle include:

Lower Monthly Payments

Leasing is broken up into payments of the car or truck that you are actually using. Your monthly payments are significantly lower, usually around 30 to 60 percent lower, than standard loan payments on a vehicle purchase would be. Length terms are also put on leases, which makes for more access to the vehicle for relatively the same amount of money. On top of that, you have the ability to drive a different car every two or three years, depending on your overall lease agreement.

Less Headaches Related to Maintenance

One of the biggest headaches when it comes to car ownership is the repair bills incurred. With leasing an automobile, however, the terms of the lease typically match up with any manufacturing warranty coverage. This is an easy way out of major vehicle repairs, as the lease runs out right at the moment engine parts run out of warranty coverage and it becomes the manufacturers problem, not the drivers.

Less Cash Upfront

A lot of lease agreements these days ask for very little cash upfront to secure the lease. This makes getting into a new car incredibly affordable and frees up valuable cash for other purposes than securing a vehicle. Lease agreements may suggest that you make a down payment or trade in your own vehicle. This will result in the lowering of your overall monthly payment amount, which is always good news for leasers.

Lower Taxes

In most locations, you dont have to pay the full sales tax on the vehicle in a lease agreement because you arent paying for the whole value of the car. You would only face taxation on the portion of the vehicle you use during your lease or the amount of cash you paid during the terms of your lease. The tax is spread out into easy payments, therefore, and is paid alongside the monthly lease payments instead of being paid all at once. This is how most agreements work, but not all. Check with your lease agreement for more information on taxation.

Less Hassle

Instead of fiddling around trying to sell your old used car, you simply bring it back at the end of your lease agreement and pick up a new lease model. This takes the headaches and hassles away from selling your own automobile and, instead, puts it in the hands of the experts.

Gap Coverage

A final note about leases pertains to gap coverage on insurance policies. Most leases automatically include gap coverage in case the vehicle is stolen or wrecked in an accident because it leaves the manufacturer and leaser in the clear. This prevents the leaser from owing more than the vehicle is worth. In the case of most vehicle loans, this coverage is not included and car owners are on the hook in the event of accidents or theft in most cases.

An electric scooter uses no gas, but will use an electric charge to move about the home or the store. The electric charge is held in a battery. The scooter is plugged in as needed, for a few hours, to recharge the battery. No special electric outlets are needed to charge the scooter or for continued use of the battery charger in the home.

The Electric Scooter Battery
The battery is a small piece of equipment you will charge weekly. The more you use the scooter, the more often you will be required to charge the scooter. The chargeable scooter battery is one you will find easy to understand. Most all scooters are available with a charging system that will display when the charge is full, and when the charge is low so you are never left stranded with a dead battery.

When charging the battery be sure to charge it until the light says the charge is full. Charging the battery half way, or only partially is going to lessen the life of the battery. Avoid charging the battery that is not empty. If you must take the scooter for a short ride to use more of the battery life, so you are then left with an empty battery, or at least almost empty battery.

Another feature about the scooter battery is that when it is low, when it is empty be sure to charge it again right away. The battery that sits empty for long periods will be difficult to charge again after sitting for a long time. Think about your cordless phone, you must charge it 15 hours when it is empty. The same will apply for your scooter chair if you leave it empty for a long time. It will require charging for a longer amount of time. When it is empty, recharge it, and the process will be faster.

Avoid adding or putting water on the battery, the charger or the connections for the battery. Water can easily make electric outlets surge, or worse break. You want to keep the battery and the charger moisture free for as long as you

The newly-released, fuel-efficient 2008 Isuzu Ascender was recently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 25 “Midsize Affordable SUVs” in the U.S. In terms of safety features, the 2008 Ascender received the same rating as the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer and the 2008 GMC Envoy.

U.S. News & World Report noted that the 2008 Isuzu Ascender fared well in crash tests conducted by the federal government, particularly in side-impact crashes. According to the article in U.S. News, the Ascender received five out of five stars in government crash tests (if you’d like to see for yourself, check out the Ascender’s page on the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration’s website for the full report) for both front and rear-seat passenger safety. One of the many reasons the Isuzu Ascender earned such a favorable rating is that side-impact airbags now come standard in the 2008 model.

The Ascender comes standard with fog lights and daytime running lights, and also includes a specialized stability control system called Stabilitrak StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control. The system combines traction control with stability control systems, as well as anti-lock brakes. Together, the three are designed to help the driver maintain directional command of the vehicle.

In addition to its active safety features, the 2008 model also has upgraded passive safety features. The 2008 Ascender offers air bags for both the driver and the front passenger, as well as standard head-curtain side-impact air bags. These air bags were options on the 2007 model. The newer Ascender also features an automatic air bag suppression system designed to deactivate the front-passenger airbag and reduce airbag-related injuries.

The Isuzu Ascender also has a body style that allows for exceptional visibility from the driver’s seat. In comparison, U.S. News & World Report noted that, with regards to the 2008 Mazda CX-7, “test drivers have expressed concern, however, about impaired front visibility due to the sharp design of the CX-7’s windshield.”

But safety isn’t the only reason to get behind the wheel of an Ascender. U.S. News & World report, in the overall impression of the 2008 Isuzu Ascender, noted that the Ascender “delivers and an outstanding warranty and smooth ride” and also pointed out the SUV’s superior towing capabilities. The 2WD model can tow, when properly equipped, up to 5,800 pounds.

In general, reviewers were impressed with the Ascender’s V6 engine power and the way the SUV handles. Kelley Blue Book noted that “the Ascender feels controlled and agile.” Another reviewer from Auto Media pointed out that the Ascender runs “smoothly and quietly” and “accelerates vigorously from a standstill.”

According to a review in the Orlando Sentinel, the Ascender beats the Ford Explorer when off-roading. Comparing the two, the reviewer praised, “ the solid rear axle of the Ascender is a better arrangement, giving the Isuzu more agility in severe off-road traction situations.” U.S. News also noted that the 2008 Ford Explorer’s “heavy steering detracts from overall performance.”
Intellichoice has not yet rated the 2008 Isuzu Ascender, but did recognize Isuzu’s entire 2006 line up as best in their class for low costs.

There are a number of advantages that arise from using a hybrid car over a conventional vehicle. The rising cost of fuel is a big issue for a number of people especially in present times and people are constantly looking for alternative ways of saving money. Some use fuel replacements but others make the smarter decision to cut down on their need for fuel by using a hybrid car. Hybrid cars use small gasoline engines combined with an electric motor which reduces the amount of fuel used, lowering the cost of running a car as well as lowering the gas emissions released into the atmosphere.

The biggest advantage of using hybrid cars is the effect they have on pollution levels. They can dramatically reduce the amount of gas emissions released and provide both an economically and environmentally friendly machine. The growing technologies of hybrid cars hold many advantages over conventional vehicles as they are becoming more and more affordable and the results in emissions can only improve as time goes on. Although the effects on the environment are excellent most people think that the advantage of using hybrid cars is the amount of gas which is regularly saved. Manufacturers are constantly researching ways of improving the efficiency of hybrid cars making them the car to watch in the future as the benefits steadily improve.

There are a number of economic advantages to using hybrid cars, the most popular being the amount of money that can be saved on gas. This is hugely important especially during times of rising gas prices and due to the fact that the lack of fuel supplies will drive up prices in the future, preparation for this is essential. This is how hybrid cars can be of an advantage economically as they are extremely fuel efficient and provide lifetime savings on the use of gasoline.

Other economic advantages of using hybrid cars are the number of tax credits available for owners of hybrid cars. There are many financial incentives geared towards influencing the public to use these environmentally friendly cars and people should take advantage of them while they can. A tax rebate can be just the thing to persuade car owners to switch to hybrid cars as they are now a smarter option that is constantly being updated to improve the efficiency even further and provide even more savings.
