-0500

People often apply for a loan without properly considering what difference the rate of interest makes, they will often take the first loan offered to them, without a thought as to, if they could have saved money by shopping around, it is essential to compare car loan rates.

There are basically two parts of a car loan. The first part is the length of time that the loan is over, usually from one to five years, and secondly, the interest rate, even in a very small difference in the rate of interest over dozens of payments, can make a big increase in the amount you have paid for the car, in total.

Before you apply for a loan, you need to be very clear in your own mind, exactly how much you can afford to pay each month. This amount should be reasonable, and should not stretch your monthly budget. With this in mind you should also pay the maximum you can each month, over the shortest period.

It is also essential that you compare car loan rates, therefore, you need to get more than one quote, if possible obtain several quotes, and a competent loan officer should have no problem obtaining a handful of comparisons, for you to take a look through.

If possible payoff the loan in the shortest available time, which is usually within 12 monthly payments. This will save a very large amount of money, compared to five years or 60 monthly payments. This is because every month the loan is not repaid, there is additional interest.

Most people cannot afford to pay off a loan within a year, but you should strive to make the payments in the shortest possible time, two or three years would be ideal. Once you get up to four or five year, payment plans, the total interest you are paying can be large amount of the total cost of the vehicle.

It is very important to compare the car loan rates. If you can save 1% over three years, this may save you $1000 to much as $3000 in total payments, if you could bargain the car salesmen down $2000 you would be very pleased with yourself. Well, take the same attitude with the loan. If you can bargain down even a quarter or half a percent, this will represent many hundreds of dollars in savings over the life of the loan.

You must always make every effort to compare car loan rates, not just the actual cost of the car in the showroom. The cost of the loan is very much a part of the total cost of the car and should not be ignored, and brushed aside as unimportant.

A good loan company should be willing to work with you, to find you the very best quotes for your personal situation and credit history. The officer should prepare a little report for you, with several options with different lenders. That will allow you to compare car loan rates across the board, and it should be fairly simple to see which company is offering you the best car loan deal, and the biggest savings on the cost of the loan, and therefore the total cost of the car.

CarLoan123 will recommend you the very best quotes for your personal situation and credit history and will prepare a little report for you, with several options with different lenders.

The 2009 model year expands Lexus’ AWD lineup, making the LS 460 the fourth luxury sedan to offer AWD performance following the IS 250, GS 350 and LS 600h L.

The AWD versions of the LS 460 and LS 460 L will utilize a drivetrain almost identical to their hybrid counterpart, the LS 600h L. The AWD system features a highly compact center TORSEN® Limited-Slip Differential (LSD) that distributes drive torque between the front and rear wheels. In normal driving conditions, the front and rear torque distribution ratio is set at a rear-bias 40:60, but it can instantly and optimally vary between 30:70 and 50:50 depending on driving conditions, thus helping to ensure excellent traction performance and driving stability.

The AWD LS 460 and LS 460 L are powered by a 4.6-liter V8 mated to the world’s first eight-speed automatic transmission, identical to their rear-wheel drive equivalent. The AWD versions will produce 357 horsepower and 344 lb.-ft of torque and can accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in about 5.9 seconds.

In addition to the luxury, convenience and safety features found on the current LS 460, both AWD versions will come standard with air suspension, Variable Gear-Ratio Steering (VGRS), and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). The computer-controlled AVS system continuously adjusts shock-absorber damping rates to help provide comfort and handling precision. The VGRS system selects the steering gear ratio according to vehicle speed, enhancing responsiveness and driver control. VGRS also partners with the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system, making minor steering adjustments to help improve control during challenging road conditions.

The AWD models will also come standard with 18-inch wheels with all-season tires, a wood and leather-trimmed heated steering wheel and power rear sunshade for added luxury.

The 2009 LS AWD models will be available in dealerships in October 2008.

Though there are many steps you can take to be as careful as possible and avoid them, road accidents are still a part of life for all drivers, and there is no guarantee that you will never have one. After all, you can be the worlds best, most cautious driver, but there are other people on the road with you that may not be as trustworthy. On top of that, the condition of the road itself might be an issue.

Of course, no one likes to think about it, and we all hope it never happens to us, but at some point in your life, you might find yourself in a car accident. It is important to be aware of what factors go into determining liability, particularly if you are injured during the accident. Personal injury sustained by you or anyone in your vehicle is unfortunate, but if you are not at fault, then you may be entitled to compensation. Knowing who or what was at fault will be necessary when you file accident claim to get that compensation.

Determining who is at fault is usually straight-forward if another vehicle is involved for instance, if you are hit from behind by another car, the other driver is generally found to be liable by default. Even if you are rear ended because you braked suddenly or stopped unexpectedly, the other driver is required to have been a safe distance behind you, and should theoretically have had enough time to see your sudden braking and adjust his speed accordingly. This is just a general rule, though, and in some cases, it may not hold up, but such disputes will require legal counsel.

There are other times that the condition of the road itself causes you to have an accident. Excess gravel, pot holes, ice, mud and more can make driving conditions hazardous. If there is not adequate signage to warn you of these problems, and you are injured, then that is information for your road traffic accident claim, as well. Individuals or companies that werent anywhere near you at the time of your injury could be found at fault if, for instance, a company did not resurface the road properly after repairing a pothole, or oil was spilled onto the road and not cleaned properly.

We all hope to never experience a road accident, but you must take heed and be aware of the basics regarding liability, particularly should you or someone in your vehicle be injured in an accident. Personal injury accident claims can help you get compensation and recover some of your losses in such an event.

Munich. The BMW Group’s information package “H2 - Mobility of the Future” presents an updated and reworked version of its course folder on the topic of hydrogen.

“H2 – Mobility of the Future” deals in depth with the many different aspects of “Supplying energy for the future and sustainable mobility”. Within this comprehensive teaching folder the company provides materials that are best suited to use in 1st and 2nd levels at college-prep high schools and secondary schools according to the recommendations of the ISB State Institute for School Quality and Educational Research. “H2 – Mobility of the Future” can also be used at other teaching facilities. The material, which is available in German and English versions, also provides information on the subjects of “Hydrogen, mobility and energy supply” for the interested public.

Practical, specialized information and ideas for the classroom
In light of the climate debate and the finite nature of fossil fuels, the general public is taking a greater interest in alternative energy issues. The topic of developing renewable energy sources is more relevant than ever, especially at schools. The BMW Group picked up on this issue early on and in response to repeated requests from the educational community started providing comprehensive course material back in 2001.
The new, completely updated teaching folder includes 55 photocopy masters containing practical, specialized information on the central issues of sustainable energy generation and hydrogen. A wealth of graphics, pictures, diagrams and charts illustrate the textual information. Alongside methodical and didactical suggestions for class planning, the “Exercises and solutions” section also includes tasks for completion with recommended solutions. These offer suggestions on how to tackle the subject matter and how to integrate it into interdisciplinary lessons in sciences such as chemistry, physics and technology. While the chapters do follow on from each other they can also be used individually and in project work.
Although the materials are suitable for individual work, they also promote communication skills – rather than just imparting knowledge – when they are used in group work.
The package is completed by an extensive glossary and a long list of useful links which make it an important source of information outside of school, too.

Thinking the future, shaping the future
Above and beyond informed discussion in the classroom, this material helps boost interest in issues to do with sustainability, create an awareness of individual responsibility and encourage thinking about solutions to the problems of the future – especially among the younger generation. In the preface to the folder the Deputy Chairman of the German Council for Sustainable Development, Prof. Dr. Klaus Töpfer, urges: “We all need to become visionaries: to think the future and to shape the future.”
The materials encourage a problem-based approach to topics relating to the importance of mobility and energy, renewable energy generation, hydrogen as a source of energy and its mobile and stationary applications.

“H2 – Mobility of the Future”
The “H2 – Mobility of the Future” course material is just one project on the BMW Group’s long list of activities in the field of “Sustainability, mobility and energy resources”. The automobile manufacturer has spent more than 25 years researching mobile applications for the use of hydrogen in the combustion engine. Its BMW Hydrogen 7 proves that tomorrow’s drive trains can be realised without compromising mobility and dynamic performance. With its innovative drive strategy the BMW Group will continue to champion the development of mobile hydrogen technologies and set the standards for the future of sustainable mobility.

The BMW Group’s commitment to education
The updated edition of “H2 – Mobility of the Future” extends the BMW Group’s educational activities in the field of sustainability. The information package is just one project among a series of teaching aids and activities the company uses to present technical and scientific subjects. All of these projects are developed in collaboration with experienced teachers and scientists.

The course materials may be obtained free of charge from the BMW Group by sending an email to presse@bmw.de or a fax to +49(0)89-35846861 with the recipient’s address and the required quantity.

The complete information package as well as further illustrative material will also be available online for download as of 28th August 2008 at www.bmwgroup.com/socialcommitment under the heading “Educational Projects”.

As with a lot of lifestyle choices these day’s there are those who seem happy to ignore the health warnings (It’s my choice and all that) as is the case with smoking for example, but inevitably when a wealth warning becomes self-evident then people become more likely to sit up and take notice.

I think it would be fair to say that if you asked the average American motorist a few years ago about driving a more fuel efficient car they probably would have politely backed away from you as if you were slightly mad. I recall visiting the USA a few years ago and being dumbfounded by the cheap cost of fuel especially as it was priced in gallons. This practice was abandoned long ago in the UK partly due to the European Union but also I think to hide the true cost, after all despite the metric system most people still refer to how many ‘miles per gallon’ they get from their car.

It’s pretty startling how things have changed in the last few years, when I read motoring articles from the USA nearly all have some reference to high gas prices or how to save money by using alternative fuels. Some people seem to be experimenting with all kinds of things often resulting in blowing up their engines as a result. One thing which seems certain is despite the occasional fluctuation in price the days of cheap motoring for all are set to be a thing of the past.

Until recently the manufacturers of less fuel efficient cars have been able to confidently sit back and raise two fingers to the traditional environmentalists who have been arguing against recreational off-road vehicles for a number of years, regarding them as a harmless but irritating group of misguided hippies. Now as with any evolutionary process it’s a case of adapt or die and Jeep are determined to evolve.

I recall a few years back I used to catch the bus to work which although took twice as long as driving and meant a long walk at the other end I felt happy in the knowledge that I was not contributing to the chronic congestion which blighted my city. Most days the commute was fairly uneventful and I could hide in a book or turn up my music if some mad person insisted on sitting next to me and then started to ask if I liked sponge cake or saying something like “nice weather for ducks”.

Occasionally the bus would simply not turn up and just as I was despairing, my saviour would arrive in the form of a green Jeep Cherokee driven by someone I used to work with. “Morning JB want a lift” he would say and to the envy of the large crowd at the bus stop I would proudly jump in and we would roar away albeit with some cringe worthy music blaring out but you can’t have everything.

These were heady days and I would listen to my friend tell me quite proudly “just had a service done, cost me £500!” Blimey what’s the fuel consumption like I said, “Well I get at least 30mpg if I take it easy” he would say and then floor it to get through the traffic lights so I guess 30mpg was a little optimistic. I became strangely attached to the car though and although the cream leather interior seemed ludicrously impractical it was easy to understand the appeal.

Apart from the obvious military requirements the demand for a vehicle which could be driven off-road without falling to pieces is what spawned the whole SUV market and believe it or not there are still people out there who genuinely need a rugged vehicle. Jeep has returned to their roots with the all-new Cherokee with the latest version not offering any concessions in the styling department. The softer lines of the previous model have been beefed up and the Jeep philosophy seems to be if you are going to stand the costs and ridicule of driving a 4×4 you can do it with masculine pride. Jeep has set a realistic sales target for the Cherokee in the UK and as we’ve seen with the smoking ban if someone really needs one, they will have it regardless.

In 2007, Dodge sold 33,500 commercial vehicles, a 285 percent increase over 2003 when the company returned to the commercial vehicle market and is now the sixth largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles sold in the U.S. Also in 2007, the Dodge Avenger and Nitro entered key volume segments outside North America, joining the Dodge Caliber, the highest sales volume vehicle for the company outside of North America.

Usually, physical damage coverage will apply to newly acquired vehicles (whether additional or replacement vehicles) only if you request the coverage within 30 days of the acquisition. However, liability coverage for a replacement vehicle is automatically provided until the end of the policy period.

The liberalization clause states that if the insurance company makes a change to its policy form which provides broader coverage without a premium charge (for example, if it drops a policy exclusion), that change will automatically apply to your policy on the date the change goes into effect in the insured’s state. This simply eliminates the need of the insurance company to endorse all existing policies when coverage is expanded without a change in premium.

Cancellation is an important issue. In most states, the reasons for which an insurance company is permitted to cancel a policy are limited-if the policy has been in effect for at least 60 days or is a renewal policy.

The general agreement is a very brief statement. It means simply that all of the remaining provisions of the contract (the policy terms) apply. The reason that the general agreement is so brief is that each coverage section contains a much more detailed insuring agreement.

Exclusions involve some of the most heated-and most often litigated-disputes over insurance language. Some exclusions exist simply to remove coverage for above-average risk factors which are not anticipated in average rates and premiums, and that the coverage is often available for an additional charge.

This is the case with respect to audio, visual and data equipment and the tapes, records, and other media used with such equipment. The basic policy form excludes coverage because these are items of value which have an above-average exposure to theft losses (they are easily removed and are often targets for thieves).

On the other hand, some people want specific drivers excluded from coverage. These special exclusions have become increasingly common in recent years.

Liability is probably the most important kind of automobile insurance. It covers moneys owed when one automobile driver causes bodily injury to another person or damage to another person’s property.

Injury or damage suffered by a driver who causes an accident is not a matter of legal liability. Being liable means being legally responsible for damages suffered by a third party (someone other than the driver or owner of the vehicle).

If a driver who causes injury or damage suffered by another person can be shown to be at fault, that driver may be held liable for the accident.

In other words, if one driver is liable for an accident, then the other party may be entitled to compensation for injuries or damage or both. Compensation may be in the form of money paid to the injured party for tangible damages (such as a medical bill or the cost to repair a damaged vehicle) and/or money paid for intangible damages (such as pain and suffering).

With cars like the R8 Gordini, 5 GT Turbo and Clio Williams, the Renault range has always featured affordable sporty cars based on mainstream production models.
Twingo Renault Sport is latest car to enjoy that distinction. Twingo Renault Sport is the result of a double challenge which sought to deliver a car with genuine sporty credentials at an affordable price. It is a Renault Sport car through and through, and features the same ingredients that have helped forged the success of its larger siblings, Clio and Mégane Renault Sport. These include specific styling, coupled with a chassis, engine and braking system engineered for a high standard of efficiency and performance that is also suited to everyday use.

Twingo Renault Sport’s release stems from a desire to facilitate access to the
Renault Sport experience. Twingo Renault Sport’s compact proportions and sharp styling echo the Twingo
Concept show car which was a star of the 2006 Paris Motor Show. The newcomer’s pedigree and sporty looks are highlighted by its bumpers, wider front and rear wings, sculpted side skirts and an aerodynamic spoiler. Inside, the cabin has been tailored for focused sports driving, with Renault Sport front seats for enhanced
lateral support, plus specific aluminium pedals, a leather steering wheel and revcounter.
From launch, it will be possible to customise the car to owners’ individual tastes thanks to a range of exterior and interior Renault Sport detailing accessories, as well as a multimedia connection point.
As suggested by its fully disconnectable ESP, which comes as standard, Twingo Renault Sport delivers genuine sports enjoyment but is also suited to everyday use. Its finely balanced handling ensures that it is easy to assimilate and fun to drive, while ensuring a particularly high standard of safety. As is the case with Clio and Mégane Renault Sport, two types of chassis (’Sport’ and ‘Cup’) are available.
Both benefit from wider front and rear tracks, while the main components of its powerful, durable braking system are sourced from higher segment models. Twingo Renault Sport is powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.6 litre 16V engine developed by Renault Sport Technologies. This powerplant pumps out 133hp (98kW) at 6,750rpm, with 160Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. The unit’s punchy character is reinforced by a characteristic engine note which has been the focus of specific development. The four-into-one exhaust is a technological feat which strikes a perfect balance between acoustics, performance and low emissions.

Twingo Renault Sport has plenty in its favour to win over a new, young clientele. To support these customers buying their first hot hatch, Renault Sport is offering a Renault Sport Experience driving tuition course in certain countries. This service is unprecedented in the small car segment and offers instruction on safe driving techniques. The Renault Sport Experience comes in addition to the Enthusiast Days which permit customers to drive their car in the safe environment of a circuit in the presence of instructors and service staff.

The new models are the all-new Ford Fiesta, the Ford Focus RS and the Ford Escape.

Visitors to the show will also be given the opportunity to see the Ford Explorer America Concept, which showcases a number of technology and engineering innovations designed to deliver fuel economy improvements of between 20 to 30 per cent.

All-New Fiesta
Designed and developed in Europe for sale in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America between 2008 and 2010, the all-new Fiesta is the first major product of Ford’s new global product development process. Its stylish and dynamic flair combines with all the traditional Ford small car strengths to create a confident, contemporary introduction to the next chapter of the Fiesta success story.

Shown in Moscow in three-door and five-door hatchback body styles, the all-new Fiesta makes major strides in craftsmanship, quality of materials and product choice while continuing to represent Fiesta’s traditional strengths of practicality, value for money and agility.

More than 12 million Fiestas have been sold since its introduction in 1976.

All-new Fiesta is manufactured with sophisticated techniques more commonly found in big-car production. Areas of the Fiesta European assembly plants in Cologne, Germany and Valencia, Spain – and eventually those in China, Thailand and Mexico – look like film sets. High-intensity lights and cameras are used by robotic assembly technology to position glass and doors on vehicles with meticulous accuracy.

2009 Focus RS
The new Focus RS will go on sale in 2009 and is being created by a small team of dedicated engineers, under the direction of Jost Capito, Ford of Europe’s Vehicle Line Director for Performance Vehicles.

The Moscow show car previews the design intent for a final production vehicle, although as development work continues, some final details may change before volume production begins at the Ford plant in Saarlouis, Germany.

With a target power output of 300 PS, the new Focus RS will be equipped with an innovative front wheel drive system, with a combination of a Quaife limited slip differential and new ‘RevoKnuckle’ front suspension technology for excellent traction and driveability, despite its high power output.

SUV Strength
In Russian Ford dealer showrooms a little later this year will be the new Ford Escape. It will join the Kuga, Ranger and Explorer to further strengthen Ford’s position in the growing Russian SUV market. Already this year sales in this market segment have grown by 20 per cent when compared to the same period in 2007.

The new Escape is powered by a 2.3 litre petrol engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. It is available in two trim series - XLT or Limited.

With the Ford Explorer being a long-time favourite with Russian consumers, The Ford Explorer America Concept on the Ford stand is sure to draw the crowds at the show. This concept vehicle – there are no plans for it to go into production – not only represents one possible direction for Ford’s design language on future sport utility vehicles but also illustrates how all of Ford’s sustainability-minded actions – from turbo-charged direct injection petrol engines, more fuel-efficient transmissions, weight savings and improved aerodynamics – can be packaged in a single vehicle.

The high-efficiency engine for the Concept is one of the new family of EcoBoost petrol engines which deliver better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. Ford EcoBoost petrol engines combine turbocharging and direct injection technology, allowing for the downsizing of engine capacity but with improved torque and performance. Depending on whether a four cylinder or V-6 EcoBoost engine is specified, fuel efficiency could improve by 20 to 30 per cent versus today’s V6 Explorer.

The Ford stand at the Moscow International Automobile Salon will also feature the full Ford vehicle range on sale in Russia. This includes the new Kuga, new Focus, new Focus Coupé Cabriolet, new Focus ST, Explorer, Mondeo, Galaxy, S-MAX, C-MAX, Fusion, Ranger, and Tourneo Connect.

In a special area of the stand dedicated to Ford’s World Rally Championship activities, show visitors will be able to experience all the thrills of a WRC event by sitting behind the wheel of a Focus WRC simulator.

Well, it depends. What you want to do is find car insurance that covers your needs exactly, for the lowest premiums possible. Therefore, let’s take a look at how you can find insurance companies that will cover your needs and provide you the best value for the money.

First of all, everyone, no matter who they are, needs liability insurance that covers both personal injury and property damage. You need this in the event you’re involved in an accident and are found at fault. Keep in mind that this is not going to cover any damage to your car. It’s simply meant to pay the other party damages should they become injured or need repairs done to their car because of damage you caused from the accident.

Now, on to insurance that actually covers your car itself. If your car is new, less than two years old, or not paid off yet, you’re going to want and need to find a company that will cover you fully in the event you need your car replaced. In this case, you’re going to need both comprehensive and collision insurance. Comprehensive insurance covers your car for things like hail, weather damage, vandalism, and so on. Typically, these are “non-driving” types of damage incidents for your car.

Collision insurance covers your car in the event of an accident whether or not you are at fault. (Note that this is different from liability insurance, which covers the other party in the accident for both property damage and personal injury damages in the event you’re found at fault.) What this means is that you’re sure to get your vehicle replaced or repaired beyond any deductible you pay if you should damage your car in a moving vehicle accident.

Now, there are times when you’re not going to want either collision or comprehensive coverage for your car. If the value of your car is less than the premiums you pay for it within a year or so (including deductible), it’s not worth covering with comprehensive or collision insurance. This is because the money you save on premiums by simply carrying liability insurance and nothing else is going to be money you can put in the bank to repair or replace the car yourself. This is a good idea if you’re someone who drives an older car that’s fully paid off and that doesn’t cost you any money beyond maintenance, gas and oil. In that case, you’re better off putting the money that you would normally spend in extra premiums toward the purchase of another car if this one is rendered undrivable in an accident.

Finally, shop around for car insurance. Even for the exact same coverage in the exact same area of the country, different insurance companies are going to give you different premium rates. The Internet is a great way to comparison shop and find a good deal so that you’re paying lowest premiums for the greatest amount of coverage you need. When you comparison shop, make sure you read reviews of insurance company performance as well, so that you’re sure the company you eventually sign up with truly does provide good service to its customers.
