As Hollywood continues to churn out remake after remake, filmmaker Robert Zemeckis is set to recreate the Beatles' animated movie 'Yellow Submarine.' On top of that, Zemeckis -- who's helmed such films as 'Forest Gump,' the 'Back to the Future' series and 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' -- revealed he has approached Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to participate.

"We haven't gotten the word yet on the two surviving Beatles, whether they're interested in doing it or not," the director, producer and screenwriter told MTV News. But Zemeckis -- a self-professed Beatlemaniac who titled his first ever film 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' some 30 years ago -- wants to move forward with "a 3-D performance-capture adaptation" of the 1968 cartoon movie.

"The Beatles have always been a great source of inspiration for me," said Zemeckis, who is midway through writing the film's script. "I think it's a perfect example of a movie that can be re-envisioned in the digital cinema and be absolutely beyond spectacular. I call it, 'Yellow Submarine: The Digital Trip!'"

While Paul and Ringo are the director's ideal choices for the film, Zemeckis seems hellbent on going forward whether they're in or they are out. Then again, in the original film, actors provided the Beatles' voices, so their lack of participation certainly wouldn't kill the project.

all i can remember is one seen where there are two cats on a train, a girl cat and a boy cat and a bunch of scrawny black cats start singing on top of the train and try to catch the two cats and they all had french accents, i think the girl cat was a cabaret dancer or something.

Kate Gosselin said on her show that she feels normal being on TV, and would like to be in a cartoon movie.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS

* Gosselin answered "any and all reasonable questions" on the last episode of "Jon & Kate"
* After being on TV, Gosselin said she would like to be in a cartoon movie at some point
* As far as the kids being on the show, she said, "they're not suffering from this"
* The family's dogs have been returned to their trainer for the time being

Answering what she described as "any and all reasonable questions" on the Monday episode of "Jon & Kate Plus 8," Kate Gosselin refuted allegations she and her now-estranged husband Jon staged their renewal of vows in Hawaii, she insisted her kids were OK on the show -- and she left the door open for a second marriage.

Despite all the troubles being a reality-show star has brought her, Kate also said she wants to stay in the limelight even after her show goes off the air.

"I've done enough years on TV that I feel like it's a normal, comfortable, natural place to be," she said. "I'd love to be in a movie at some point, I'd love to be the voice of a cartoon character in a movie for my kids. I think that would be fun."

Fame fine for kids

As for being married again?

"To be honest, I don't know," she said when asked by a viewer. "I really don't want to be married again, but I don't want to be alone. The alone-ness is really alone."

For the most part, the questions steered clear of the family drama. Viewers were interested in Kate's shoe fetish, and whether she's still clipping coupons.

Kate, 34, did lash out at the media, saying the glare of the spotlight has made it hard to maintain friendships. But she was firm in her insistence that fame hasn't harmed her kids, a claim Jon, 32, made to try to end the show.

"They're not suffering from this," she said. "The fact that they have these different experiences they need to handle is only going to help them in life."

Dogs not gone forever

On the other hand, asked if the craziness of raising eight kids while in the middle of a nasty divorce ever pushes her to the edge, she came clean.

"Hello, have you seen our show?" she asked. "Yes, I do flip out."

As for the family's dogs, which were returned to a trainer in September, Kate said made the decision to get rid of them because she had too much on her hands, but that she would bring them back if things calmed down.

"I knew the dogs needed more than I could give them," she said. "Are they gone forever? I'm hoping not."

A cartoon movie about fairies I used to watch?? What's it called?
I used to watch this one movie a lot, and I'd like to rent it out again, but I can't remember the title!

It was a cartoon about I believe two kids that went for a walk in some wood, and I think the boy of the two ventured into some circle of mushrooms around a tree, which was the entrance to some fairy world. There he ate fairy food and couldn't leave or something, and yeah, that's all I remember.

Does this sound familiar and do you know the title?

As you can see at the bottom, i need to be at level 2 to give an answer even though i have submitted one. Since i am still at level 1 in this Yahoo answer & question and a beginner therefore i need back up from anybody out there to just submit the correct answer to the person who mailed me this question. edited by: Saudi Ali

STAY TUNED TO ANIMATED NEWS! NORMAL SERVICE WILL RESUME SHORTLY!

We’ve had a number of emails sent in to us in the past few days to ask about the lack of updates to the site. While this situation isn’t ideal for us we wanted to let our readers know that, rather than being dormant, we’ve actively been working on a number of changes to both Animated News and our sister reviews and interviews site Animated Views that have been hinted at for some time now. These steps will ensure that a regular News service continues and, we hope, flourishes better than ever.

Since launching Animated Views in 2006 as an additional component to the headlines and stories of Animated News, that site has grown to include more and more DVD and Blu-ray reviews, and has a thriving interview program, all of which took our main writers away from the day to day running of the News service. Although we enjoy a large readership, an advertisement for more News Researchers to join our team did not yield the successful response we were hoping for, and so we have been struggling along to continue both pages to a respectable level of quality.

As such, our commitments to reviewing various Studios’ home video releases and assisting with publicity on new titles led to more time being spent on Animated Views, which has unfortunately resulted in the slow decline of this Animated News page. Without wanting to put together a simple “quick fix”, we have been forging ahead for the past few months with long-standing plans that will see the News service once again become an integral part to the future of the Animated News & Views network.

We understand visiting a stagnant page can be frustrating, and know you have a choice when cruising the net for animation based news stories. We genuinely appreciate the members of our enthusiastic community forum and their always insightful and constructive comments, and not only thank those readers that have cared enough to write in, but ask everyone to bear with us and “stay tooned” to the site. Our new plans are not ready to be unveiled publicly just yet, but rest assured what we feel are positive changes are on the way.

We’re very excited about the approach we are working on, and are always on the lookout for new contributors. If you are interested in being involved with Animated News & Views, please make yourself known to either James R Whitson, Ben Simon or Randall Cyrenne in the Animated News & Views Forum.

We appreciate the past few weeks have not been the highpoint of Animated News’ existence, but believe a new lease of life is about to be unleashed, perhaps even by the end of this month in time for our sixth anniversary. In the meantime, Animated Views is still going from strength to strength and is packed with new content, including a full serving of features celebrating this week’s release of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs on Blu-ray Disc.

Tarzan Animated Movie

Disney's 37th full length animated feature film Tarzan was made on a budget of $150 million, making it the most expensive animated movie to date. It was the first Disney movie to open at number one since 1994's The Lion King and is considered to be Disney's last major animated hit prior to the studio's slump of the early 2000s. Capitalizing on the success, Disney released a direct to video sequel, Tarzan and Jane in 2002 and a direct to video midquel Tarzan II in 2005. The film also spawned a Broadway musical and the animated series The Legend of Tarzan, which aired on the Disney channel from September 2001 until February of 2003.

Europe opens new cooperation with the world

A new initiative

CARTOON CONNECTION is a training programme intended to initiate and establish lasting professional relationships between European producers / distributors and their counterparts based in other continents. The first event is taking place in Argentina (Buenos Aires), from 25 to 27 November 2009.

This new initiative was born under the umbrella of the preparatory action MEDIA International, which aims at reinforcing cooperation between EU and non-European professionals from the audiovisual industry on a basis of mutual benefit, as well as improving the exhibition and circulation of European audiovisual works in third countries and vice versa.

How it works

The 3-day meeting will alternate formal speaker’s presentations, panel sessions during round tables and project presentations.

The programme content will offer attending animation professionals practical tools to work together with particular focus on financing, distribution and co-productions.

The ultimate aim of CARTOON CONNECTION is to increase knowledge of the different markets, promotion, networking and distribution of animation works for both European and international professionals and to facilitate cooperation between Europe and the different continents in the field of animation.

Irish-born German-based filmmaker David O’Reilly won the 2009 Cartoon d’Or Award last night for his contemporary short film “Please Say Something”. The Award Ceremony took place in Stavanger during the annual co-production event Cartoon Forum.
The other nominees are: “Aston’s Stones” (Uzi & Lotta Geffenblad), “Madagascar, carnet de voyage” (Bastien Dubois), “Party Animals” (Merwan Chabane) and “Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death” (Nick Park).

from Wednesday 3rd to Friday 5th March 2010

Cartoon Movie 2009Cartoon Movie 2010 will take place for the second time in Lyon (France), the city where cinema was born.

Created in 1999, Cartoon Movie is neither a fair nor a festival, but rather a co-production forum for European feature films. For two intense days, European producers have the opportunity to present their animation projects to all potential buyers in order to negotiate financing, to find partners and to interest distributors. All of this is happening in a very relaxed and convivial atmosphere… the human touch is the soul of Cartoon Movie!

The successful 2009 edition was attended by more than 620 participants, including 180 investors – of which 79 distributors – and 38 professionals from the game industry. 51 feature film projects were pitched, be they in concept, in development, in production or completed films.

It has become quite easy to create just about any thing you want, including cartoon movies using your home computer. The invention of the Internet has not only opened up doors for novices it has also made the cartoon movie making process much quicker. There are several sites that you can use for free and they will even take you step by step through the process. You can be a kid or a novice and still be able to create a cute little cartoon movie. Here's how you can get started:

Step 1

Search for a site called Stripgenerator in your favorite search engine, or use the direct link at the bottom of this article. Once you are there you can move on to Step #2.

Step 2

Create a plan or idea about what kind of cartoon movie you want to make. What kind of characters are you going to have in it? What are they going to be doing? How is the cartoon going to end? Having a plan in place before you go to Step #3 will just save you some time. If you don't have an idea you can take a look at the site and see if an idea comes to you.

Step 3

Begin adding your characters to the strip. You can choose humans, cartoon characters, animals, and much more. You have full control and can click on anything you want to use. Then drag it and let go in the space you want the object. If you decide you don't like it you can click clear or undo. The clear button will erase everything in the scene, but the undo button will only take away the last object you put in the frame.

Step 4

Use the text editor to add words. This is located directly underneath your frames. This text editor is much like a standard word text editor in that you can align your words left, right, or center them. You can make your works bold or italic. If you want your text inside of a speech bubble then click the bubble box on the top right and corner.
5.
Step 5

Click Print when you finish your strip if you would like to print your cartoon on your printer. Click publish if you would like your cartoon published to the web. You will even be given a link that you can give to all your family and friends so they can see your finished movie.
