FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Carys Rainn Foundation Provides Memorial Opportunity

The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. is a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting hope and healing through awareness, support, and research for parents who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.

Grayson, Kentucky – May 23, 2018 – Local Non-Profit, The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. is scheduled to host the 5th annual Ready… Set… Glo! 5K run/walk and 1 mile walk on Friday, June 22nd, 2018 and would like to invite businesses and individuals to sponsor in memory of babies who are no longer with us. All proceeds from the foundation’s events will be used to further the foundation’s goals to minister to individuals and families facing pregnancy or infant loss and infertility.

The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. was founded as a response to the brief life of Carys Rainn Kitchen, who was born (along with healthy twin brother, Paxton) in April of 2011 with a fatal neural tube defect. Through the experience of Carys’ terminal diagnosis before birth and the months that followed, Carys and Paxton’s parents recognized a need for additional resources, support, awareness, and research in the area of perinatal loss.

The foundation provides support to bereaved parents, encouraging hope and healing through efforts such as memory box items, resource information, professional trainings, and financial support for end-of-life costs, among other support and memorial events. The Carys Rainn Foundation also donates an annual memorial tree to the Paramount’s Festival of Trees, inviting all festival attendees to include the names of loved ones of any age to our memorial display.

This year marks the fifth annual “Ready… Set… Glow!” 5K run/walk and one mile walk to benefit the foundation. In addition to our business sponsorship opportunities, we are making space available on the backs of our race shirts to memorialize individual babies. Information about sponsoring the event or adding a baby’s name to the memorial roll may be found at www.carysrainn.org/5k.

Keri Kitchen, founder and Executive Director of The Carys Rainn Foundation states, “By inviting the public to add their baby’s names to our shirts this year, not only are we increasing opportunities for individuals and families to support other grieving families, we are reminded that we are participating with a purpose in memory of these little ones. As a mother, it has been a huge part of my healing process to do things in Carys’ name because this is how she leaves a legacy – it helps me find purpose in her brief life.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Local Non-Profit Acknowledges Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month

The Carys Rainn Foundation works to bring awareness to pregnancy/infant loss and infertility through various events throughout the year, and would like to invite those who have faced pregnancy and infant loss to share their stories. October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month, with October 15th being Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

Grayson, Ky – October 15, 2016- In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month, The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. would like to invite anyone who has faced pregnancy and infant loss to share their stories of loss on the foundation’s website or facebook page and visit the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day event sponsored by KDMC at Central Park on Oct 15th at 6:00 pm.

The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. is a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting hope and healing through awareness, support, and research for individuals and families who have experienced pregnancy/infant loss or infertility.

The organization’s founders, Aaron and Keri Kitchen first entered the world of pregnancy and infant loss when one of their unborn twins, Carys Rainn, was given a fatal diagnosis 16 weeks into the pregnancy. They quickly learned that sharing their story opened the door for many others to share their own stories of loss, which, as a mental health counselor, Keri recognized as a healthy part of the grief process. As more and more parents shared their stories, it was clear that they had not always felt free to do so due to the discomfort of those around them regarding the topic of pregnancy and infant loss. Inspired by the impact of sharing Carys’ brief life, they began the Carys Rainn Foundation.

Anyone impacted by pregnancy and infant loss is invited to visit the foundation’s website at www.carysrainn.org or facebook page at www.facebook.com/carysrain to share your experience.

Regarding Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, Keri states, “I have worked with clients who have struggled with unresolved grief for many years, largely because they did not feel free to mourn the loss of their little ones. Complicated bereavement can begin to interfere with overall wellness, and even a person’s ability to engage in their everyday lives. We want to encourage people to acknowledge their losses, give themselves permission to grieve, and ultimately find peace and healing so they can move forward, carrying with them the memory of a loved child, regardless of how long that child existed on earth. We want people to know that their losses were significant and it’s healthy to acknowledge that experience.”

The Carys Rainn Foundation provides support to bereaved parents, encouraging hope and healing through memory box items, memorial opportunities, information, and more. Upcoming foundation events include the 4th Annual Online Auction November 4th and 5th, hosted on the facebook page, and the annual memorial tree in the Paramount Arts Center’s Festival Of Trees, where the public is encouraged to memorialize their loved ones of all ages.

The Foundation also makes efforts to provide professional training opportunities around the topic of pregnancy and infant loss treatment and support, the annual Ready… Set… Glo! 5k held in June, and more.

For more information about The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. or learn how you may participate in events, sign up for the mailing list at www.carysrainn.org. For questions, such as how you may volunteer, or to schedule a speaking engagement or training for your church or organization, contact Keri Kitchen, Executive Director, at Keri@carysrainn.org. Keri and Aaron’s story, Maranomi: The Story of Paxton Cole and Carys Rainn, is available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble online.

ready+set+glo[1]Grayson, Kentucky – August 4, 2015 – Local Non-Profit, The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. hosted the second annual Ready… Set… Glo! 5K/ 1 mile walk on Friday, June 26th, 2015 and would like to

express appreciation to all foundation supporters. All proceeds from the foundation’s events will be used to further the foundation’s goals to minister to individuals and families facing perinatal loss.

The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. was founded as a response to the brief life of Carys Rainn Kitchen, who was born (along with healthy twin brother, Paxton) in April of 2011 with a fatal neural tube defect. Through the experience of Carys’ terminal diagnosis before birth and the months that

followed, Carys and Paxton’s parents recognized a need for additional resources, support, awareness, and research in the area of perinatal loss.

The Foundation provides support to bereaved parents, encouraging hope and healing through memory box items, memorial opportunities, information, professional trainings, and more. The Carys Rainn Foundation recently partnered with The Cash Ryan Memorial Fund to purchase a DSLR camera for King’s Daughters Medical Center, to provide and means for hospital staff to offer bereavement photographs when outside organizations are not available. For anyone interested in being involved in the foundation’s efforts, item donations are currently being accepted for the third annual online auction, scheduled to take place through the foundation’s facebook page during the first weekend of November.

Additionally, a Bereaved Parents’ Retreat is being planned for October 9th and 10th, to be held at Carter Caves State Resort Park, and the foundation donates a memorial tree each year to the Paramount Arts Center’s Festival of Trees with an open invitation to have loved ones represented.

Keri Kitchen, founder and executive director of The Carys Rainn Foundation says,”The foundation runs entirely on contributions from the public. We very much appreciate the support we receive in our mission to minister to grieving parents and their families. While we are well aware that the efforts we make don’t take away the pain of loss, we hope to offer a little more comfort than these parents would have otherwise. We want parents who experience the tragedy of pregnancy or infant loss to have support made readily available, as well as tangible memories created. We understand it can be very difficult to cope when memories of a loved one begin to fade. Without physical reminders, the whole experience can begin to feel as if it were only a dream. In short, each of these little lives matter and deserve to be acknowledged and remembered, just as grieving parents need to be given the freedom to openly grieve, acknowledge, and remember their little ones.”

Local Non-Profit Organization Hosts 5K

The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. is a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting hope and healing through awareness, support, and research for parents who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.

Grayson, Kentucky – June 11, 2015 – Local Non-Profit, The Carys Rainn Foundation, Inc. plans to host the second annual Ready… Set… Glo! 5K/ 1 mile walk on Friday, June 26th, 2015 at 10:00pm. In addition to these events, a Bereaved Parents’ Retreat is being planned for October 9th and 10th, to be held at Carter Caves State Resort Park.

Heather Pick, one of the foundation’s board members, stated,The Ready… Set… Glo! 5k is an awesome opportunity to get out there and be healthy with your family and friends to support a great cause. You can walk or run in support of families that have gone through the devastating loss of a baby or child. We all either know someone who has had a miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or child loss, or had a loss or losses ourselves. Sometimes it is hard to find the right words to say to those who have had losses, but even something as simple as doing a walk in their baby’s memory means so much to them. The campaign I want people to recognize is miles for awareness of stillbirths, miscarriages, child losses, and infertility. You can make a difference just by doing something as simple as walking. I encourage you to support this cause and come out and light up the Kyova Mall on June 26th.”

The Carys Rainn Memorial Ready… Set… Glo 5K Run/Walk will take place at KYOVA Mall on U.S. Route 60 in Ashland, Ky, with registration and 1 mile walk beginning at 9:00pm. More information about the event may be found by visiting http://carysrainn.org/5k
