MAN OF STEEL Star Henry Cavill Wants Superman/Batman Crossover Movie!

Back in 2004, Wolfgang Petersen (TROY, POSEIDON) was set to direct Warner Bros' BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN but the highly-ambitious project was failed to get into the production status. Now Henry Cavill, lead actor who plays Superman in the upcoming MAN OF STEEL, would love to see a Superman/Batman crossover movie happens. Here's what he had to say below:

I think it would be really interesting with the age-old Batman/Superman conflict, because they are two different sides of the same coin and their methods are entirely different. And I think it would actually make for an interesting story as to why, first of all, they were going head to head and how. I think that would make a great story.

So is Batman/Superman crossover movie will be seen in the big screen one day? Henry Cavill only responses:

Who knows. I’m sure there’s all sorts of ideas being thrown around at Warner Bros right now.

In the meantime, MAN OF STEEL will be opened in just less than a month away -- which is on June 13.

Donnie Yen Is Aiming For LAST OF THE BEST In 2014!

Of late, martial-art superstar Donnie Yen has been juggling various movie projects including the big-budget remake of ICEMAN 3D, his eagerly-anticipated return to modern-day action thriller SPECIAL IDENTITY (which is currently in post production) and his recently-announced involvement to star in CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON 2: THE GREEN DESTINY. Now die-hard fans can look forward to another Donnie Yen movie!

And that movie in question is LAST OF THE BEST, a modern-day action thriller in which Donnie Yen will begin shooting at the end of May for a 2014 release date. In this movie, Yen plays a former police martial-art instructor who is imprisoned after accidentally killing a man. When he discovers a serial killer is targeting martial art masters, he offers to help the police in exchange for his freedom. Wang Baoqiang, Charlie Yeung and Bai Bing co-stars, with Yen also serves as the movie's action choreographer. LAST OF THE BEST is directed by Teddy Chen, who last collaborated with Yen in the critically-acclaimed BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS (2009).

Johnnie To Is Planning To Make ELECTION 3... And His Retirement

In his recent media interview, acclaimed Hong Kong director Johnnie To is planning to make ELECTION 3 in 2015, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the release of the original ELECTION back in 2005. This is certainly a great news for die-hard fans out there since both ELECTION and ELECTION 2 were among the best gangster movies ever made in Hong Kong cinema.

In another related news, To has told the media he's planning to retire at the age of 65. Just so you know, To is now 58, which means he has 7 more years to make more movies before his retirement.

Joss Whedon Confirms Quicksilver And Scarlet Witch For THE AVENGERS 2!

So who's the new team members will be joining THE AVENGERS 2? According to IGN, director Joss Whedon has stated that he confirms Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be included in THE AVENGERS 2. Here is what he had to say about their involvement in the upcoming superhero sequel:

You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.

THE AVENGERS 2 is coming to theaters on May 1, 2015.

An interesting news has surfaced online that Ubisoft's popular video game-turned-big screen feature ASSASSIN'S CREED, starring Michael Fassbender, will be released on May 22, 2015.

As of now, no director has been announced for the movie.

Christopher Nolan Is In Early Talks To Direct Bond 24?

Last year, Sam Mendes did a great job directing last year's SKYFALL, which was no doubt, one of the best Bond movies ever made. Now that Sam Mendes has made it clear that he ruled himself out of directing the follow-up to SKYFALL, The Daily Mail reports that the long-rumored Christopher Nolan (THE DARK KNIGHT RISES) has been approached to direct the next 007 movie (aka Bond 24).

As for now, it's still early talks but I'll be glad if Nolan is the one who's going to helm Bond 24. Meanwhile, Nolan is currently in pre-production on his upcoming sci-fi epic, INTERSTELLAR which starred Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain.

Less of a superhero movie than a Tony Stark show in an action comedy mode, IRON MAN 3 is energetic but suffers from unnecessarily bloated screenplay while the comedy element borderlines into near parody.

Wong Kar-Wai's 10 years-in-the-making of the so-called Ip Man biopic is exquisitely photographed and blessed with some dazzling fight choreography, but THE GRANDMASTER is mostly a scattershot mess of unfocused direction.

A horror fan's wet dream in term of its graphic violence and excessive gore display, but EVIL DEAD suffers from weak script and mostly forgettable characters.

CONSPIRATORS has a fairly intriguing whodunit with a scene-stealing performance from Nick Cheung, but the movie suffers from excessive shaky cam and labored pace.
