The real reason that @YogaAlliance

didn’t donate money to NY or VA

The real reason that Yoga Alliance didn’t donate money to the Yoga for New York Association or the Virginia Yoga Teachers Association, is because they just didn’t expect NY or VA yoga teachers to succeed!

During the NY and VA state attempt’s to tax Yoga teachers and Studios, Yoga Alliance was asked by both Alison West and Susan Van Nuys to help them pay for the defense – so the yoga teachers could win against the State Governments….

What’s the Truth???

Yoga Alliance didn’t want them to win, because if they didn’t win, then they would own the ONLY mandatory state accredited yoga credentialing for every single yoga studio would have to use. Yoga Alliance was busy paying $336,325.00 to two different Web companies to fix their horrifically bad reputation, because they are misguided.

And when I say they are misguided, I specifically am referring to the core group of board members of Yoga Alliance (Lynn Bushnell, Gyandev McCord, Virginia S. Cowen, Arun Tilak) and the 2004 contract employee John Matthews.

They all signed Non-disclosure agreements that (they think) legally protects Yoga Alliance from telling people the truth about their ineffectual credentialing. But it doesn’t, those documents haven’t stopped people within that organization from coming forward to tell me that, “Everything I write is the truth,” or “I am on the right track.”

I know it’s the truth, from the people I have spoken to, from the relationships in yoga I have cultivated and emails I get on a daily basis and I have fully accepted the responsibility that goes along with that.

Every yoga teacher who joins Yoga Alliance‘s “new” venture for YA Plus, understand that you are agreeing to join the organization that gambled against US Yoga, against US Yoga Teachers – because they were consumed by their own appetite for greed and wanted to be crowned the mandatory state controlled monopoly on yoga credentialing.

Before you align yourselves with Yoga Alliance, realize that the big reason YA changed their tune a whopping 180 degrees after Virginia and New York had successfully won there legislative fights is specifically Yoga Alliance knew that they had been caught. Yoga Alliance knew that their credentialing was not legally binding, and for all intensive purposes worthless; they knew that it served no real legitimate purpose for yoga teachers to buy it, (even though they had been buying it for 15 years) and that in order to survive they had to start doing what they should have been doing from the beginning.

Yoga Alliance had rolled the hard six and lost their gamble, and they would not have survived unless they changed they mission completely.

So now they have changed, why should we not be satisfied?

Because there are still bad blood residing in Yoga Alliance, there is still corrupt people within the board.

The only way for Yoga Alliance to make their entity right, the only way any of us should be happy, is for ALL of the board members agree to complete transparency and everyone of the board members, including John Matthews, steps down and resigns for their part in the last 15 years of the Yoga Alliance farce.

If you think I am negative, then so be it. You won’t be first and you won’t be the last. I have followed their evasive and dishonest tactics for over two and a half years now.

The days of hearing Yoga Alliance rumors and clam baked rhetoric are over. This is about speaking the truth, not a subjective truth but the truth because all the facts point towards the truth, and the truths say’s they knew all the yoga regulation facts and did nothing.

An omission of the truth is worse than a non-disclosure agreement, because every single person at Yoga Alliance was involved and could have done something about NY and Virginia but chose to wait and see how it all turned out.

This is more about intention than anything, and why more people refuse to see that is truly unfortunate.

The actions Yoga Alliance takes today – the secrets, the lies, the inauthentic intentions – they all will have a lasting affect on the imminent future of yoga tomorrow.

People start lots of good and meaningful organizations… but, what about you? Do you really have to belong to an organization to make a difference in the world? Of course not. Anyone paying attention can see that the actual urgency of what is occurring in the world today, has accelerated at such a rapid rate, that it’s not only changing before our eyes, it’s also redefining racial equality, religion, social mores, business, countries, economies and yes, even yoga.

This change is less about corporate survival and more about the human condition. Believe it or not, there are others who can’t openly do yoga.

For the first time in history, as a yoga community, we have a choice to put aside our differences, step across borders and foster the true test of humanity. We are being asked to be supportive of the entirety of yoga.

It’s easy to forget that certain areas in the world are not open to the practice of yoga or measure the health of a changing society on a basis of spiritual growth. For American’s religious freedom is a choice, for other countries it is a choice that does not always exist.

In the three years that I have known Nouf Marwaai , she has done what I feel is the most important event for yoga in the past 50 years.

The fact that Nouf is courageous enough to start a yoga studio in a strictly closed society is almost unbelievable! The fact that on her own, alone in Saudi Arabia, she still continues to make such a significant difference in, not only Saudi Arabia, but also the entire (mostly Muslim) world.

The very first yoga studio in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – “Saudi Arabia Yoga & Ayurveda Health Clinic,” is playing a huge part in changing social morays within her own culture. She is a true yogini and a hero for so many who yearn to grow and expand.

Since the opening of Saudi Arabia Yoga & Ayurveda, she has been well received by many Saudi’s, but has had endure arguments with devout Muslims on Saudi television for the right to have the Saudi Arabia Yoga & Ayurveda Center.

She has shouldered the responsibility of bringing yoga to Saudi Arabia openly and with the support of the Yoga Alliance International. (Not affiliated with the US based Yoga Alliance.)

Nouf is a proud sponsor of the Fifth International Egyptian Yoga Festival

I am blunt, too pragmatic, too realistic and really, really stubborn.

There is not a compartmentalized version of myself that you meet – when you meet me, you actually meet me. I am not going to pretend that I am better than I am, I won’t fool you about how great, or how shitty everything is, and I won’t tell you how to embrace the possibility of abundance for your life.

I do as much yoga as much as I can, which sometimes is not as much as I’d like. I have bad balance from a previous accident and have been known to fall when pushed. I am focused and purposely oblivious to certain people and can also be selective with tunnel vision, but that’s mainly because I know what I’m passionate about.

Gravity and reality win, so don’t waste time in the upper echelons of hypothetical aristocracy.

I am one of the few who changed the entire yoga industry just enough to wake people up.

The Yoga Community forget’s that Yoga Alliance has done a 180 degree turn about from their initial stance of completely abandoning yoga for their corporate interests.

In 2007 and 2008 Yoga Alliance attempted to make it mandatory for ALL yoga studios and ALL yoga teachers to become Yoga Alliance members by instigating a nationwide – city and state – fact finding mission about specific tax loop hole that would effect taxing teacher trainings.

They are now attempting to become a US Government Certified 501c6 Trade Organization so they can monopolize and control world wide yoga goes as a practice.

The questions to ask yourself are:

Does the current Yoga Alliance yoga credentialing actually serve me as a yoga teacher?

If the Certification is not legitimately checked, why then is it valid when anyone can pay money to become a YA Certified 200/500 Hour Yoga Teachers?

If the certification only benefits the topical insecurity of yoga corporations and does not really address the actual fundamental concerns of yoga clients, then what is the real point of having Yoga Alliance.

Did Yoga Alliance preemptively called local state governments encouraging them to ADOPT the benign 200/500 hour yoga teacher training credentialing, as it states on their FACEBOOK Statement?

Does Yoga Alliance have their motives in the right place, because until 2011 they have been silent and absent.

Why aren’t their clear cut directions on how a yoga teacher is to become better qualified, or medically qualified.

See the below link for further explanation.

HERE:

http://yoganomics.net/2011/03/how-yoga-is-dealing-with-government-regulation/

If you want to remember anything, remember that we are the few people in yoga, who took a stand when all the corporate entities decided it was more important to protect their earnings than talk about the truth.

If you think I am negative, or if you think I am too blunt.

Then what can I say?

For myself, yoga is the individual personal practice that allows someone to surpass their own limitations.

How about you?

Do you have a better corporate version of of yoga I don’t know about?

Enough about them, back to me….

=================================================

I was born on December 17th, 1973, in Decatur, Georgia, at 11:35am. Adopted at two weeks of age by my loving parents, Edward and Hazel Castellani, one adopted brother, David Castellani, and one half-birth sister, Vera Anne Stover.

Currently each of my family members live on complete opposite spectrum’s of the United States. My Parents are in Florida, brother in Washington State, my half sister lives in Texas.

The reason why I find yoga useful is specifically for the medical benefits I receive from it …. and personal growth I have experienced though practicing yoga.

On December 4, 1993, I was in an incident where I was beaten to death and suffered a head injury. That means specifically I had brain damage.

I was in a four day coma and when I came too, my eyes had crossed, I had trouble speaking, I lost all equilibrium and mobility on primarily my left side, and could not walk unassisted.

I was at Harborview Hospital in Seattle for a month doing physical therapy and speech therapy. I eventually left the hospital in a wheelchair, later graduated to a walker, and then for some time after, I used a cane. The doctors prognosis of my injury upset my parents and friends a great deal, and it is probably one of the lowest points of my life. I also feel it is 100% responsible for my tenacity, resilience and ability to have courage when there is absolutely no reason to.

Doctors conveyed that physical rehabilitation would be a life long process, and that people with traumatic brain injuries have little to no hope of significantly changing.

In retrospect, the information was sparse and fragmented and the negative “sentences” that the doctors gave was more of a poor legal disclaimer. Even though there are effects today, it wasn’t an accurate hypothetical of my situation. Life deals tough breaks, and in many head injury cases the situation is much worse. How was I to know what would happen in the future? How is anyone supposed to know, for that matter? They didn’t, and no one can foretell the future.

I had never been in a position where my reality had been so altered. There was nothing I could do but accept and adapt. My eyes were crossed and my left foot would not “sync” with a regular pattern of walking. There was nothing I could do about it. I had to focus on what I could do mostly because I couldn’t understand half of what was said to me for years to come. For 8 years I found myself off balance, quite literally. I practiced my pronouncing words in a mirror for over a year and a half. Even today, I will stop mid sentence and re-start a sentence if I feel as though I am saying it improperly. Some people think I write this for understanding or a need for compassion, but don’t let that fool you, I just want to move on. The incident itself has has altered my life enough. I have accepted it as being a part of who I am and I have moved on. I have carried so much rage over the circumstances of December 4th and it effected me to such an extent, that they have shadowed the entire decade of my twenties.

In 2008, I made the discovery that I had a younger half-sister Vera Anne and also confirmed that my roots are Greek, Cherokee and slightly Welsh.

Regrettably, my birth mother Mary Jo Stover passed away April 22nd, 2005.

Today I have close relationships with my adopted family and a close and loving relationship with my sister. My conclusion? We don’t always choose our family’s, they choose us.

I remember many things about my mostly loving childhood, but above all, the reoccurring theme that stands out to me is in the 7th grade, when I first noticed a world beckoning to me.

I am not a theoretical person, I am quite literally a creative “take your time, but hurry up,” kind of person. Some believe that life is about suffering silently, and that by remaining silent a person can remain cozy in their safe suffering… and one day they will graduate to the new society of real martyrdom. Skeptical bosses and skeptical employees are two vehicle of the same sad little fat diseased pigeons in the park. Being a nay-sayer makes you incredibly constipated, negative and manipulative person who lives only by limited definitions and known variables. Your silence will not save you.

I started yoga in 2006, when I first started working at Yoga Journal Magazine as a temporary employee. I was then hired on permanently, and my practice continued to flourish. Today, with regular and consistent practice, I have seen huge improvements in my physical, mental and emotional abilities, in every area – but, particularly my left side.

I am now doing things that I seriously never thought I would be able to do again…like regaining range of motion in my left leg, getting better with balance and (oddly enough, because I don’t wear my glasses when I practice) my depth perception. Yoga humbles me on a regular basis and I am constantly amazed by how my life continues to change. With the best of intentions, I would encourage anyone to start today.

I have since left Yoga Journal to start Yoganomics, continuing to work in fields related to yoga. I am currently more engaged with individual studio’s and individual teachers, than I ever have been.

Yoga has opened up the world to me in so many different ways and now it my intention is to give back to the community that I now call home.

In November 2009, I started Yoganomics. I spend a great deal of time alone because I am in the most unknown territory that I have yet to experience. Sometimes I am completely terrified and other times I think I just might make it.

I try to practice yoga 4-5 days a week. Feel free to drop me a line if you’re in town and want to go to a class. Yoga has given me a worldwide community of people I love being around, and each person I get to meet, I always walk away feeling blessed.

My advice to you, the avid yoga practitioner, the beginning yoga practitioner, the person struggling with no faith, and the zealot who won’t shut up…

Everybody wants to prove you both wrong and right. They want to say they knew you before you crashed and burned and they want the credit when you get back on your feet.

You don’t have to answer to anyone but yourself. Not your boss, not you wife, not your husband, not you friends and not your family.

The only one that has to live with yourself is you, so find your greater purpose and survive.

If I can die, be brought back to life, and repeatedly fail, be crazier than anyone would ever suspect, be told (repeatedly) that I will fail, go through fits of anxiety AND still make it… then so can you my friend.

A new trend from the Far East is coming to the US – yoga classes for dogs, otherwise known as “doga”. The classes are intended to help dogs find their inner peace and take the canines through a series of exercises and positions designed to improve their heart and digestion. The practice is thought to date back as far as 2500BC.

After a hard day guarding the house and generally being kept on a tight leash, a dog deserves some relaxation. And now it can, thanks to the latest canine craze. . . dog yoga. Known as ‘doga’, it is the latest trend from the Far East, which now has a cult following in the U. S.

Beaver Holds Canadian City Hostage in Tweed, Ontario

Yoga Sunday Cancelled

I don’t know if this is true, it’s worth mentioning just because a beaver can hold a city hostage and Yoga was cancelled. Nature has an awesome way of telling people man made mechanisms don’t apply to their domain.

A large, agitated beaver attracted a crowd in Tweed., this week when it meandered through town and got hissy with a German shepherd.
The beaver was spotted Monday evening wandering around a residential neighbourhood, along a busy street, through a graveyard and golf
course, all the while escorted by a Tweed Environment and Natural Resources officer.

Mike Keizer, a longtime resident in the town of 2,400, said he hopped on his dog sled as soon as he heard there was a beaver on the loose.
“It looked huge & greasy. I always thought beavers would be smaller,” Keizer told CBC News on Thursday. “This beaver needs a diet or beaver
tighening surgical proceedure”.

“All the beavers I’ve ever seen have been in water, so you only ever see pieces of them; like, you don’t get to see the whole beaver.”
An employee of Best Buy & resident, Jason Mercredi, shot video footage of the beaver moving in a ditch and on a sidewalk along
McDougal Street.

“There’s a beaver holding up [the] main street,” Mercredi says in the video, before asking his uncle if the animal would attack.
“He’s pissed,” Mercredi remarked. The wayward animal, which Keizer estimated was the size of a moose, zigzagged across people’s lawns and around their homes.

“Every time it got agitated or flustered, it would bang its tail on the ground. I mean, I was amazed at how fast it moved when it was
agitated,” he recalled.

Keizer said the beaver became especially agitated when it came nose-to-nose with somebody’s German shepherd, with just a chain-link fence
separating the two animals.

“It never backed down once. It grabbed the fence, it was hissing, and the dog was barking,” Keizer said.

“When the ENR officer went to get it turned [around] so he’d get it away from town, he had a plywood sheet in front of him, and it rushed
the sheet.”

Keizer said he rode his bike ahead of the beaver, knocking on residents’ doors and warning them to bring their dogs indoors “because
there’s a wild beaver walking through town, heading your way.” ”While I was there, all kinds of people were driving up in their
trucks and their cars and taking pictures,” he said. The beaver wandered about another kilometre or two before it headed towards the Slave River rapids and disappeared.

Keizer said in his 17 years living in Tweed, he has never seen a beaver — never mind a beaver so large — come in town

ONE is not a charity and ONE does not solicit donations; “we’re not asking for your money, we’re asking for your voice.”

ONE.org

ONE is a global advocacy organization co-founded by Bono and supported by more than two million people around the world. ONE is not a charity and ONE does not solicit donations; our tagline is “we’re not asking for your money, we’re asking for your voice.” We have currently just launched a campaign to help save 4 million children in the next 5 years by vaccinating against the top two disease killers of children in developing countries – pneumonia and diarrhea (rotavirus).

In the West, diarrhea in children is a nuisance; in poor countries it is often a death sentence. In fact, roughly one of every three child deaths worldwide — nearly three million each year — is caused by pneumonia or diarrhea. More children die from these two diseases than from HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined.

But the good news is we now have two new vaccines that can prevent these deaths IF we can get them to the children in the developing world who need them.

Campaigning To Save Four Million Lives

World leaders are meeting in London on June 13 to decide whether to fully fund The GAVI Alliance (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization), the partnership that helps fund the purchase and distribution of cost-effective vaccines in poor countries. ONE will also put positive pressure on Congress during the budget process to support GAVI.

ONE is launching a yearlong global campaign to let world leaders know we want them to fund these life-saving and cost-effective vaccines. Our campaign launched in France on April 7 at an event with Bill Gates and we launched our global campaign on April 19 with a petition asking world leaders to support this important initiative. ONE’s goal is 500,000 signers. YOU can help us do this!

ONE will be releasing several creative products for this campaign, including a cutting-edge PSA called “Why Bother?”

“Why Bother?” is the first global PSA in ONE’s history, airing in French, U.S. and U.K. dialect versions across the world. Using children to bare our most cynical views about poor countries and development assistance, the PSA then flips the switch, and uses those same children to share the “living proof” of how smart, effective assistance is saving millions of children’s lives around the world.

“Why Bother?” brings to life the jaded views of adults who do not have the facts about the progress being made in the fight against poverty through the mouths of those who yearn to imitate them: children. The PSA culminates by coming full circle to share the successes that have been achieved for less than 1 percent of the U.S. budget and urges viewers to raise their voices to save the lives of 4 million more children over the next 5 years.

ONE is kindly asking your station for support in sharing our message to save 4 million children’s lives in the next 5 years by simply watching the “Why Bother?” PSA in :30 or :60 formats.

For more information on ONE, our “Why Bother?” PSA or how you can further support our campaign efforts, please contact info@ONE.org. We sincerely appreciate your time and assistance to build the movement.

The majority of yoga is made up of thousands of yoga teachers, small businesses, and loyal yoga practitioners. The small businesses of yoga are the action, and the action is in the yoga and the people who practice it. As I have said before, Yoga is not just about the appearance or the words – it is about each individual’s process to the core.

YogaClothed.com: Yoga Clothed was built for only one reason: to help support beginning yoga designers. The biggest issue that a yoga business face’s today is that either they don’t publicize enough or don’t understand how to reach their target market effectively. When I left Yoga Journal, I struggled – not really knowing what I was going to do – I really only knew I felt passionately adverse about the non-profit charity and corporate deception in the field of yoga. I have been in business for almost a year and a half and have yet to turn a profit, however, in in January and February – two short months – suddenly our unique website visitors number tripled over night and things seem that they are only going to grow bigger.

In order to better help our customers and people who submit information, I am very happy to announce thatYoganomics.net, YogaWithStyle.com and YogaClothed.com will be combining forces. In a very short

There is a constant flow of change that occurs through action, and our specific customers will be directed to our NEW website, and with each article or product that is submitted, it will automatically be submitted to another corresponding site. - NOT A BLOG-FARM – but an already established yoga site. We will maintain a focus on yoga teachers, yoga studios, small yoga businesses and sole yoga proprietors – so the information is constant, adaptable, comprehendible and completely yoga specific – targeted to always keep moving forward.

These are uncertain times we live in, we are putting our best pose forward to make sense of the world around us – by giving yogis a wider view of the worldwide yoga and meditation communities. We are also going to have a weekly donation process where you as a user have a chance to address different causes.

OneMama Came to Be

The Birth of OneMama! Jan 6th marks the anniversary of the birth of OneMama,
Really the original source, The beginning of my life’s purpose.

This day is called the Epiphany, On this day it is said The Wise Men came for the Divine Birth.
It is the day my Mother was born and it is the day I lost my baby Sepulveda’s spirit to the heavens.

This day marks the long hard journey of transmuting the deepest pain I’ve known to my greatest JOY and what I now know I am here to do.

I cry tears of JOY today and sadness all fused into this lovely sweet package of Truly Living and experiencing all that is Love.

The Spirit of Sepulveda is there to usher every Baby born to safety and to let Every Mother know she too is LOVED and MATTERS.

I try to swim through life with Her in my heart she sacrificed so much LIFE so that I could be of service to
So many others like her in this life.

Sepulveda whispered in my ear to go to Africa to heal my grief by being there with an open heart for others in need.

Sepulveda then whispered in my ear when I met Mama-Jamira that this is the OneMama who can support all Mama’s.

Then Sepulveda smiled on my heart with every child I see enter the world,
I experience a new life on my journey of service with this experience my heart is healed and continues to heal.

Siobhan’s Vision

When I was 15 years old, I had a vision that changed me deeply.
I saw myself in Africa, working with its people and making a difference in their lives.
I saw myself showing people in such desperate conditions that they mattered.
I decided to live out my vision after college.
Then Life Happened!
After many obstacles and so much time, I thought my vision would never come to fruition.
Now, much later in life, the time is right.
I am ready to live my vision- to be of service in Africa.
I am now humbly honored that I have been guided by something higher to be OneMama’s caretaker.
