160 New Gym Renovation Commencing

We are writing to inform you that the new gym renovation will commence on Monday, November 16th. Significant noise can be expected during the demolition phase of the renovation commencing on Monday, November 16th and will take approximately a week to complete.

Our goal is to have the gym completed by the end of the year and opening on January 1, 2010.

Saving Tip:
Do repair leaky faucets and turn taps off tightly. A slow drip wastes 15 to 20 gallons each day.

CASTLE VILLAGE REGULATIONS FOR HALLOWEEN
1)Only Castle Village children and their guests (two per child) are allowed to go trick-or-treating on the grounds and buildings of Castle Village.
2)Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult and must carry an official Castle Village bag for identification.
3)Older unaccompanied children must show doormen the Silver Halloween bags identifying them as Castle Village residents/guests of residents in order to be admitted to the buildings.
4)There is a list of apartments participating in the Halloween festivities in each lobby. You should sign-up if you wish to be visited. Trick-or-treaters are asked to check this list and to visit only apartments on that list. Participating apartments may also be recognized by the orange and black streamers attached to the doors.
5)If you experience problems with trick-or-treaters, please notify the doorman, who will take appropriate action.
6)Anyone found not complying with these regulations, creating disturbances, or misbehaving will be asked to leave the premises and will not be allowed to continue trick-or-treating on Castle Village grounds.
7)Do not overload elevators. For your own safety, DO NOT CROWD ELEVATORS and instruct your children, if unattended, not to do so either.
8)Do not use lit candles as part of your decorations.

In response to security issues raised by residents in the past, once again this year, Castle Village Trick-0r-Treaters (residents & guests) will be required to show a special silver Mylar bag in order to gain entry to the buildings. These bags are from crime stoppers and show safety tips as well as a Castle Village imprint. You may pick up your bags from your doorman.

Annual Meeting – Monday, November 2

Dear Shareholder:

This is a reminder that the annual meeting of shareholders will be held on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 8:00PM. The meeting this year is being held at the same location as last, the Fort Washington Collegiate Church located at 729 West 181st Street. It is imperative that as many shareholders as possible attend since matters of importance to all will be discussed. If you have not already received one, Financial Statements for the year ending December 31, 2008 are available from the management office and will be distributed at the meeting.

If you have not already sent in your proxy, please do so immediately.
Unless there are sufficient shareholders and proxies for a quorum, the meeting and elections cannot be held.

Please submit your proxy even if you plan to attend. If you then attend the meeting and vote, the proxy will not be used. If you do not wish to vote for members of the Board, leave the ballot part blank; your proxy will be used only for purposes of establishing a quorum. In order for your proxy to be valid, it must be signed and dated.

For your convenience, the proxy you received may be faxed to the attention of Sal Schiano at Goodstein Management, Inc. (212-755-1398). This year the proxies have been coded to assist Goodstein in identifying the voter/shareholder; therefore, the proxies are not interchangeable as in the past. If you have misplaced your proxy, you must pick one up at the management office or call (212-927-0600) and request that one be sent or faxed to you.
Alternatively, ballots will be available at the meeting.

Rescheduling of 180 Basement Closing

The painting of the basement was not accomplished last Wednesday as scheduled because an emergency occupied too much of the handyman’s time preventing him from completing the task. Barring unforeseen circumstances, the handyman will attempt to paint the basement on Thursday, 10/15/09. Consequently, the basement will be closed from 8pm Thursday night until 8am Friday morning. The laundry room will close promptly at 8pm also.
