As announced in our memo of June 11th, Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) will be installed on all radiators in your apartment except those found in the bathrooms. A TRV is a self-regulating valve that replaces your existing manual radiator valve. It acts as a thermostat to control the temperature of a room. You need only set the TRV to your desired comfort level once and the self regulating valve automatically controls the flow of steam to that radiator. If you wish, the valve can also be shut off completely.

We expect to start installations in your building on Monday July 26th . The intention is to install at least 30 valves per day starting at the penthouse level and moving down the building three floors per day.

Glashow Plumbing, a trusted and regularly used plumber at Castle Village, will be doing the installations. The workmen will be accompanied by Castle Village staff during the installation. If you have elected to have water saving showerheads and aerators installed, Castle Village staff will mount them while the plumbers are installing the TRVs.

The table below shows the schedule the contractor will try to follow. The schedule might change depending on the pace of the job. Keeping to the schedule also relies on your cooperation. Please make your apartment available on the days that correspond to your floor. If you cannot be home on the day allotted for your floor, installations can also be performed on weekends and after work hours by in-house staff.

Thursday	29-Jul	2, 1 & Sublevel

You must call the management office to advise if you will be home or how access to your apartment will be arranged. Evening and weekend appointments are also available.
Installations take about twenty minutes per valve.

Precautions
•	Please remove furniture and breakables from in front of, on and around the radiators.
•	If there is heavy furniture that you have trouble moving, let us know in advance so staff can be prepared to help.

Starting today July 1st, L&Z Building Restoration will be working along the 1 & 9-lines as indicated below. The work consists of caulking windows, brick demolition and reconstruction at several apartments along the drop shown. You can expect periods of loud noise due to the demo, which will start on July 6th and continue through July 23rd.

Work will start at 8:00am and will close at 5:30pm Monday thru Friday. If necessary, quiet work will be allowed on Saturday.

Precautions/Procedures
•	Keep your windows closed to avoid dust and debris from entering.
•	Air conditioners will be protected with a filter fabric but it is best to avoid using them during the demolition if possible.
•	In some cases, an air conditioner will have to be removed to properly perform the work required.
•	To avoid possible damage to window and adjoining wall decorations, remove breakable items from these areas.
•	Because of the bonded wall construction of our buildings, damage to interior surfaces of your apartment may occur during demolition. Any damage to the interior will be repaired.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but the work is necessary to preserve the integrity of your building.
