Find better dates with PersonaliDate

2026-10-28T14:22:23.954-07:00

If you haven't had the best time with dating give PersonaliDate a chance.

It is absolutely free (at least at the time of this post) and it promises better dates and happier relationships thanks to their unique, "5-traits" based personality test and matching algorithm. It is a lot less like window-shopping for dates like on other apps. The "5-traits" personality tests are scientifically the most reliable way to understand and categorize personalities and PersonaliDate uses it to show you how well you match each person in 10 categories to help you find lasting connections instead of ultimately-disappointing dates.

It is simpler and more fun to use compared to other dating apps and refreshingly, there are no complicated membership levels, confusing features, or pay-to-play access... it is very straight-forward and completely free!

You can go straight to PersonaliDate.com, or find it on the play store.

^Not too much info, and not too little info, just the right amount to make a good call. See, you get a total match number at the top, and a breakdown of how well you match in 10 categories so you have a pretty good idea of what this person is like besides just pics and the age etc.

Relationships, and "this too shall pass"

2022-10-28T15:37:00.002-07:00

This is a very cool video and it made me think of relationships; each ball is doing its own thing, always at the same frequency, they don't change over time. But the relationship between them changes. For brief periods they seem to be in harmony and shortly after they seem unrelated and things seem chaotic. Romantic and non-romantic relationships are kinda like this too. No friendship or romance ever jives forever, even though the individuals involved don't seem to have changed all that much. Maybe it's just a matter of the point in time that you get to know them. Even in strong, long-lasting relationships you'll have periods of dissonance and harmony.

So if you don't seem to be currently in harmony with those around you, remember; "this too shall pass." Consider being patient and understanding, and trust that better days will likely come. And if your relationships currently seem to be harmonious, enjoy them and be grateful, but -1; understand that "this too shall pass" and don't be too shaken up and disappointed if they seem to regress. And -2; keep in mind that if you choose to be patient and stick around, better days will likely come around again.

Pothos Vine (Devil's Ivy) Propagation from Cuttings

2020-11-19T11:11:00.006-07:00

The pothos vine, also known as devil's ivy or golden pothos (Epipremnum aureum), is very easy to take care of and looks great year-round. Pothos are especially good as hanging plants placed in high spots. Pothos vines are especially beneficial indoors. They clean the air more than most other plants. They absorb harmful gases like formaldehyde, xylene, and benzene, that may come off of wall paint, furniture polish and other synthetic materials. If you or a friend has a pothos vine you can easily propagate it and add some beauty to your house, breathe cleaner air, or give it away to loved ones.

I've tried various methods for propagating devil's ivy/pothos plants and covered the most successful (and the most prolific!) method here. I also try to cover the important aspects of pothos propagation in a clear and concise way. I hope you will try this method too. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Don't go to Starbucks outside the USA

2020-11-19T11:10:00.009-07:00

I only wish Starbucks staff and baristas well, because they are the best part of Starbucks, but the company itself has some negatives, and there are some good reasons not to go to Starbucks, especially outside the United States. This video lists some of the most important reasons not to choose Starbucks. Some of the reasons directly effect the customers' experience, and some of them are harder to see immediately but lead to significant consequences that effect us all in the long run. There are excellent alternatives to Starbucks, especially outside the US. Maybe you too will spend your money elsewhere and do yourself, your local economy, and the environment a small favor.

Potential cure for migraines: Rosemary tea recipe

2020-11-19T11:08:00.004-07:00

I'd hate to waste anyone's time or give false hope, but rosemary teas completely stopped my migraines so I wanted to share this. If this helps just one of you it would be worth it.

I started having migraine headaches just before my 30s. After about 4-5 years of occasional migraines, I came across some articles online that mentioned rosemary might help. There was a rosemary plant in our yard at the time so I decided to try it. Migraines are terrible and I was willing to try anything that could help, but rosemary is a beneficial herb anyway, so I figured even if it didn't do anything for my migraines, I didn't have anything to lose. After rosemary teas I had maybe one or two more migraines that were noticeably lighter, and then they completely stopped. I had a 3-4 years that were completely migraine-free but we ended up moving out of that house. Since I wasn't having migraines anymore I got comfortable and forgot about the rosemary teas. About a year and half after we moved (and I stopped having rosemary teas) my migraines started again. Of course, I went and got myself a rosemary plant and started making the teas right away. Thankfully, it worked again and my migraines stopped for the 2nd time. I have (once more) been migraine-free for about 2 years now. I hope it will stay that way, and I hope these rosemary teas will help cure your migraines as well. I apologize in advance if they don't work for you and I end up wasting your time. I wish you all well.

Propagating jade plants -How to root jade cuttings: stems, and leaves

2020-11-19T11:07:00.006-07:00

Jade, like most other succulents, is easy to care for, easy to propagate, and beautiful year-round. They make great houseplants. There are many varieties of jade (crassula, aka money tree) and they can all be propagated in the same way.

There are two methods of propagating Jade plants; one using stems and one using individual leaves, and this video shows how to do both. Propagating Jade using both methods is easy, but using stems is a faster and a more successful method. If you have access to a jade plant, you can propagate many more plants using both stems and leaves. You can give them away to friends, family, neighbors, and make the world a better, a greener place.

Here's some more information on jades: They like bright areas, but not much direct sun light. Their roots like to be crowded, so they rarely need to be potted-up into larger containers. They don't like sitting in wet soil so after the initial 2-3 weeks after propagation make sure the soil dries between waterings (good draining/sandy soil is best, but it's not a necessity.) Good luck and thanks for watching!

In this video, I want to talk about some specific things I do, and that we can all do to protect the nature or at least reduce our harm to it. Besides their benefit to the environment, a lot of these will save you some money, too, so let's dive right in.

Pruning jade plants (crassula, money tree)

2020-11-19T10:27:00.000-07:00

Sometimes jades need a trim so that they can be both better looking and healthier. Like most succulents, jades (crassula, aka; money tree) tolerate pruning pretty well. But still, there's no need to make more cuts than what's best for our plant. And it's not good to unnecessarily traumatize the plant, or interfere too much with its natural beauty. In essence, we should only cut the problematic branches that waste our plant's resources. In this video I explain how to go about pruning jades and share some helpful tips.

The pruning principles explained in this video applies to most plants and trees as well.

By the way; if you prune your jade, don't throw away the branches you cut off. Check out my earlier video here youtu.be/JyLGW72fP so to see how you can propagate more jade plants with those cuttings. It's very easy.

ZZ Plant/Zanzibar Gem Propagation using full/partial branches & leaves

2020-11-19T10:22:00.001-07:00

ZZ plants (zanzibar gems, zamioculcas zamiifolia, also known as zuzu plants) are quite easy to propagate. Whole branches, parts of a branch, or single leaves can be used for zz plant propagation. All 3 methods work, but (spoiler alert!) if possible I would recommend using full branches, since that method has the highest success rate.

Zanzibar gem plants are some of the easiest to care for and hardest to kill plants. They do well in low, indoor light conditions, aren't too prone to pests or diseases, and with their shiny emerald-green leaves, they look great year-round.

I hope you will try propagating zanzibar gems. Good luck, and thanks for watching.

Spider Plant Propagation - Simple and Straight-forward

2020-11-15T16:02:00.002-07:00

Easy and straight-forward explanation of spider plants (Chlorophytum comosum, often called spider plant but also known as airplane plant, St. Bernard's lily, spider ivy, ribbon plant) using baby plants/spiderettes. Spider plants are easy to care for, and they have a good-looking shape. They especially look great as hanging plants, placed somewhere above eye-level. They are also one of the easiest plants to propagate, they pretty much propagate themselves.

For best spider plant care, keep them somewhere bright but without direct sunlight, and water them every 5 to 7 days, depending on temperature and humidity in your house.

I hope you'll try propagating spider plants, too. Good luck, and Thanks for watching!

Why candles produce smoke only when blown out? What is candle smoke? + 2 experiments

2018-05-10T12:57:00.006-07:00

Why do candles burn without smoke but produce smoke when blown out? This video covers the basics and includes two experiments involving candle smoke. One of the experiments is a well-liked, magic-trick-like demonstration, where you get to light a candle from a distance.

THESE EXPERIMENTS REQUIRE ADULT SUPERVISION! Dealing with candles, lighters, matches is very dangerous. Fires can cause serious injuries, massive property damage, and can even be fatal.

There are many people taking photographs and footage of waves and Nolan Omura is one that creates some of my favorites. He lives and shoots in Hawaii, and is a very young photographer with hopefully a bright future and many lovely images to come. (Assuming it is current, his bio on his website says he's 17 at the time of this posting.)

Turkish Proverb on friendship & coffee

2017-03-14T09:49:00.001-07:00

"The heart seeks neither coffee nor coffeehouse. The heart wants friendship, coffee's an excuse." Translated from its original in Turkish: "Gönül ne kahve ister ne kahvehane. Gönül sohbet ister kahve bahane." It's a lovely proverb with a non-materialist attitude, reminding us of the importance of our real needs.

Dear Brother - Johnnie Walker

2017-01-02T14:53:00.003-07:00

Dear Brother

Walking the roads of our youth

through the land of our childhood, our home and our truth

Be near me, guide me

always stay beside me so i can be free, free

Lets roam this place

familiar and vast

our playground of green frames, our past

We were wanderers

never lost, always home

When every place was fenceless

and time was endless

our ways were always the same

Cool my demons and walk with me brother

until our roads lead us away from each other

and if your heart’s full of sorrow, keep walking, don’t rest

and promise me from heart to chest

to never let your memories die, never

I will always be alive and by your side,

in your mind

I'm free
