I arrived in this house with my sister Socks a couple of months ago and the main problem was that there were three cats already living here. It has yaken a while but we kind of tolerate each other now.

Everyone thinks I am a but grumpy but it’s just that when I’m a bit upset or nervouse I strike out with deadly force. I shall write about the everyday stuff from a grumpy cat’s perspective.

Why are they too busy? My HuMum’s bruvver and his missus iz coming to live here and their two cats are coming to live here too, the staff has been moving furniture and making space.

There will be five cats in this house !? Will it work? – as long as they know that I am the boss it may work out, not looking forward to it though.

Anyways the theme we was going to have here won’t work if the other two cats want to join in so we’s gone back to the old theme for a while till the staff has time to sort it.

Is it the invasion of the territory snatchers? Babe Cattykins really will not like it but Danny Mittens probably won’t even notice, we shall see.

My HuMum is buying a feliway contraption specially for Babe cos she is easily freaked out – it’s supposed to calm down freaked out cats but if it calms down Danny any more than usual he will be in a coma.

So I rest my head on the mousie hand and get stroked on the head while she tries to work hee hee…

After a bitter battle for supremacy, which involved Babe chasing me around the garden and then me growling at Babe it was decided that I would be Captain of Cat Things. Danny just sat and watched from the sidelines – big wuss.

All three of us are going to just write whatever we like – ha ha. This internet stuff is new to me but Babe is always bragging about being the best interweb cat and I don’t like to be outdone by her, so here I am.

We will probably have to poke Danny wiv a stick to get him to do anything.

The staff will be around to maintain the site but will no longer be writing posts.

The will be some maintenance taking place so it may take a few days to get the site looking as it should – new theme, different categories etc.

You can buy packets of seeds but a couple of year ago I got seeds for free in a packet of dried catnip that I bought for my cats. It took a while to sort them out from the leafy matter but with patience I collected many of the little dark grains.

It is very easy to grow, just keep it away from the cats for a while to give it a chance. In early spring sow the seeds in a seed tray with good compost, sprinkle a thin layer of compost over them and water. Cover over with glass or clingfilm until they germinate. Now place the tray in good light, but not in full sun. When the seedlings are big enough you can either repot or plant out in the garden.

If your seedlings were grown indoors you may need to harden off before planting outdoors, don’t plant out if there is risk of a frost. Plant about 12 to 18 inches apart and always plant more than you think you need (hide a few). Planting them activates the smell that cats love and it won’t take them long to find them.

They are not really the prettiest of plants, looking like a cross between mint and nettles; I think some of the more compact varieties are better looking. But as I grow them for my cats I am not too concerned by their appearance.

By early summer they should start to have spikes of tiny pale lavender flowers. Later on as they get to the end of the season and the flowers start to drop, cut off the top half of the stems tie them into a paper bag and hang them to dry. By tying them in a paper bag you can collect any seeds that drop ready for next year’s planting. Once they have thoroughly dried give the bag a good shake to get as much seed as you can. I usually store the seed in a labelled envelope ready for the next spring. Any stems that are too woody should be discarded the rest of the dried catnip is ready to give to your cats, or to use to make your own catnip toys.

Any plants still in the garden will need to be cut low at the the end of the growing season. The old stems get woody, new stems will usually grow the following spring.

To make a basic cat toy you just need a small rectangle of cloth folded in half, sew the three seams, leaving a small opening on one side. Turn so the seams are inside, fill with catnip and stitch up the opening. Or you could be more ambitious making mice or rats. If you’re not into stitching put catnip onto a cloth gather it up into a ball and tie string around it.

And now comes the best part, watching your cat play!

Barbara’s hand must have got infected as she said that she lost the use of it and nearly had it to have it amputated during a weeklong hospital stay that cost her thousands of dollars.

She has taken out a lawsuit against a Bronx shelter for $2 million. 

Okay so maybe she would want compensating for her hospital stay, but looking at the photograph she still seems to have a full set of fingers.

I know an upset cat can get mean, the cat obviously felt trapped and didn’t want to be there. I have scars from a stray cat that got accidentally trapped in my home, twice. I also have many more scars from my own playful cats. Cats have teeth and claws and should be handled with care, if you want a safe life don’t get a cat.

Thomas Gorton, the shelter owner’s lawyer said  “It was a very nice pussycat, the plaintiff is the only one who’s talking, because the cat’s not saying a word.”

Pinchbeck did got a replacement cat from the shelter, and Wheezer was adopted and got a new home.
