Proceeds from the Birdathon support educational programs at the Green Mountain Audubon Center and GMAS programs held throughout the year. The Catamount Outdoor Family Center is an outstanding birding hotspot.  This bird walk marks the first in a series of walks at the COFC that the GMAS will lead throughout the spring and summer. Join us to tour this property and to learn more about birding at the COFC. The bird checklist for the COFC is available in the Resources section of this website. Select Resources from the menu at the top of this page and scroll down to the end of the page to find the link to the checklist. To read more about birding at the COFC go to the Hermit Thrush link at the top of the page and select the 2011 articles. Carl Runge contributed an essay on Birding at the COFC to the Hermit Thrush in 2011, which has been updated.

The Mud Fund received 27 fantastic applications from boys & girls from across the United States & Canada, ranging in ages from 10 years old to 22 years old, who race & love cyclocross. Deciding who to award scholarships to was tough, but these eight stood out for various reasons.

“It’s great that the Mud Fund class of ’13 had so many applications. It shows there are some great young athletes out there. Sometimes a talented rider may take some time to show — the Mud Fund keeps young riders in the game while school, life or circumstances continue on,” said Tim Johnson
