Hi Catanetwork fans. I’m Linda Thomas-Sundstrom, your guest blogger for today, and I’m so happy to be here among so many romance fiction readers and writers. See me waving?

First up, I’d like to say a little about my own background and my writing, because I am thrilled to my underpants to be writing paranormal romance – and getting published by three great New York publishing houses, Kensington, Dorchester, and Silhouette ( Nocturne). And then I have a couple of questions for you-all, and hope you will chat a bit, and share your opinions. Okay? Ready – set – go.

Delving into the mysterious:
My history with the paranormal goes way back. My love of the paranormal started when I was a kid, and my family would travel in a station wagon (remember those? Ours was a blue Chevy) to and from the midwest to visit family. Since my dad had limited vacation time, we’d drive all night sometimes, and to pass the time, my dad would tell us ghost stories. (!) He’d tell us about phantom lights in the desert, and about old diners that were burned down, but refused to die.
Do you now see what started all this? So it was natural that my first book, written after my father died, but with his help from the Great Beyond, was fantasy fiction dealing with Route 66 and diners that refused to die… and called Café Heaven -An Autobiography of the Afterlife (2002).

But my love of the paranormal was only kicked off there. I was a private travel guide in the summers for a British agency, and as a result spent a lot of time in Britain, going from ancient site to ancient site, then studying megaliths, stone circles, etc, from a more scientific angle.
“Paranormal happenings” were in my blood. for sure. And have been ever since.
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I can’t write anything that isn’t paranormal. No matter how hard I might have tried, early on, things just turned out mysterious. I gave in!

I think my Muse is a werewolf – because as a writer, my paranormal species of choice is —- Werewolves.

Why? Because unlike vampires, sexy alpha Weres are human (sort of) most of the time. The heros in my current Nocturne series are ER doctors, detectives, cops, and even a deputy D.A. They try to lead normal lives and blend in… but just have that teensy little problem when there’s a full moon. Grrrr….

Still, you can curl up in bed beside a Were twenty-eight nights a month, without having to worry about being accidentally (or otherwise) drained of all your blood.

Plus, a nice, juicy werewolf is warm. I mean, who doesn’t prefer warm on a cold winter night? To the pleasant scent of damp puppies, in comparison to the smell of potting soil or cedar coffin linings?

My Wolf Moons series from Silhouette Nocturne kicked off last year with two Nocturne Bites, Blackout and Wolf Bait. Now, those Bites are included in print this year as bonus material in this month’s full Nocturne, Red Wolf, and also in its back-to-back sequel in March, Wolf Trap.

The series is all together in two books. And did you see the covers? Hot, sexy, yummy stuff!

I was chosen by the editors at Nocturne to be test-pilot for having my Bites in print as bonus material with the full books, and couldn’t be more thrilled. This way, e-book lovers, Kindle and Nook owners, as well as paperback book fans, can find my books in every way possible.

Oh – and did I mention my January Nocturne Bite, just out – Moon Marked ? Also related to the Wolf Moon series, if not directly conjoined.

What’s the series about?
A rogue werewolf in Miami is biting innocent people. Eight people will come together because of such bites. Four couples emerge… and try to take this criminal wolf down. It’s dark, sexy fare in sultry Miami. Heat all the way around.

Please do check the books out. I’d love to hear from you about it.

Now—- ta da. My questions for you. Pick one or all. Pretend we’re at a party and getting to know each other through pleasant chichat. Go for it. Share.

1) Are you a paranormal fan? Or not?
2) Do you like your reads dark, or on the lighter side? (Yes, this is going to tell us a lot about you – ha!)
3) What is your preferred species, for paranormal fans? (Team Edward? Team Jacob? LOL)
4) Are you writing a book?

Oh, and — Have you perhaps read any of mine? (Fingers are crossed, don’t you know!)

I hope you’ll join me today – and even want to win a copy of one of my books. Because one person will.

xo for now-
Linda

The Sunrise Foundation motto: “Helping Exceptional People Lead Exceptional Lives”, says it all for Anna and Ceelie. The two women work hard as life coaches to help their clients reach their potential despite their handicaps. Therefore, Anna met the caregiver for a potential client with smiles even though Liam Franklin was all tense frowns. Liam only wanted a babysitter for his twin brother and he wanted things to remain the same with Colm in a cocoon of safety at his home. Anna, on the other hand, knew Colm could do much more for himself. She encouraged him to spread his wings.

Liam was intrigued by the feisty Anna and she made him smile. So how could he convince her to stop pushing Colm without pushing her away? Anna knows she is getting too close to Liam but she loves both of the Franklin brothers and she knows Colm would flourish with more freedom and responsibility. Should she step back or speak up?

Award winning author Holly Jacobs tugs at our emotions as she tells a tale of twin brothers, one a successful business owner the other with special needs, and the compassionate woman that loves them both. Ms. Jacobs describes the challenges and joys of having a family member that is exceptional with her classic inspirational style. A ONE-OF-A-KIND FAMILY is a lovely read that delivers a potent message.

Dan falls in love with Michelle but he soon discovers that he needs help and hires Alexis to be Michelle’s live in nanny. For the past two years, Dan had been deep in grief over his wife that died of breast cancer. But since meeting his daughter and her feisty auntie, he is beginning to see the joy in life again. Alexis is falling for this gentle man but her trust is hard won.

Emotionally charged, QUARTERBACK DADDY is a book that will be hard to put down. Dynamic characters Alexis and Dan each have their own demons but their love for baby Michelle brings them together and allows a deep affection to grow. Award winning Linda Barrett relates this tender love story with warmth and perceptiveness that will captivate her readers.

The Unbound series is always convincingly written, and THE HELLHOUND KING has you believing in every detailed aspect of this fascinating story from the first page. Lori Devoti has created an intriguing world, and gripping scenarios heighten the enjoyment throughout the fifth installment.

When Marina Adal and Raf Dolg seemed to have a chance meeting previously, she thought he actually came to care for her but discovered he had been lying and had him put in prison for years. Now the hellhound is out and plans to make the elfin princess pay dearly for condemning him to such a harsh punishment. When Raf finally manages to get close to Marina in Alfheim, her homeland, he quickly understands the political clash between her uncle and the elf lords strongly affects everything in her life and any expectations.

Raf is struggling with personal demons and does not want to protect Marina, yet he repeatedly feels compelled to do so because of his undeniable potent feelings for her. The princess has her own worries as she is tired of being used by her relative and other elves to further their causes, and wonders how everything will play out plus who will end up ruling. Although Raf has his reasons for being in Alfheim, his feelings for Marina soon become most important to him and supersede his retribution plans. To ever be completely happy, these two must overcome falsehoods while following the desires of their hearts.

Lori Devoti never disappoints her paranormal readers. Her creative mind assembles all the right elements to make her stories not only mesmerizing but enchanting as well. Add in the many diverse characters and you have a totally enjoyable tale. The settings are carefully crafted to let you experience events along with the characters, and each meticulous fact brings realism to all scenes. A vivid portrayal of life and how individuals react in similar situations, regardless of the type of being, is brilliantly shown through political scheming and personal deceptions, thus making the circumstances seem truly plausible. There is also plenty of mystery as to precisely who is behind past and present happenings, and Ms. Devoti certainly keeps the reader guessing as to whom is responsible. The whole cast of characters is superbly depicted with distinguishing natures, and each one will be loved or despised for their true-to-life rendering When it comes to Raf and Marina, their lives have been filled with much heartache and this story has them currently facing many difficult decisions where happiness still seems out of reach. This leads to numerous scenes where emotion pours off the pages as honest sincerity is the driving force behind their responses. There is also some suspenseful moments surrounding these two, as the danger is perilous with no guarantee as to what will occur in the next instant. Magic, passion and fate cleverly entwine in THE HELLHOUND KING to create a notable story of the elf world.

Ian Martin didn’t much like the idea of covering the opening of a hospital, even if it was the state of the art privately owned Safe Harbor Medical Center. After all, he was an international reporter and there were far more interesting, action packed stories to tell. Then he got a look at the PR director, Jennifer Sera, and decided things were looking up. As a result of his internet interview with Jennifer, a young woman surrenders her new born and pleads with Jennifer to keep the baby. Ian’s story becomes viral and other babies are left at Safe Harbor Medical under the safe haven law. His editor pressures him for more and Jennifer agrees to let Ian follow the story of the placement of the infant Rosalie.

Jennifer hadn’t planned on keeping Rosalie herself but she could not give her up, especially when the birth mother was so adamant. Rosalie has stolen Jennifer’s heart and fills an emptiness that needed filling for a long time. But would Jennifer’s past catch up with her and what about Ian? He seems so loving and giving but his career keeps him on the move around the world. How could their budding romance survive being apart now that Jennifer had a baby?

Once again, talented Jacqueline Diamond delivers an emotionally driven story based on real life. The safe haven law, which allows parents to leave their children in a safe place instead of abandoning them, is showcased in THE WOULD-BE MOMMY. Ms. Diamond takes this premise and weaves a story of love, dedication and life lessons that feature characters that could be our own next-door neighbors. Thank you Ms. Diamond for this brilliantly moving story.

Lily Morgan had fallen head over heels in love with Nico from the very first moment she clapped eyes on him. Sinfully gorgeous, charismatic and a master between the sheets, Lily knew that the mysterious stranger had stolen her heart from the very first spine-tingling kiss. But when Lily woke up the next morning, she was stunned when she found herself in bed cold and alone, with only her memories to remind her of that night of love…and his baby!

Lily had never thought that she would ever clap eyes on the man who had changed her life forever – until she opened the newspaper and realized that Nico was not just a handsome foreign student, but the Crown Prince of Montebianco!

Lily might have been carrying the prince’s baby, but she was damned if she was going to let Nico have access to his son! Although, money is tight and times are tough for Lily, she has no intention of going cap in hand to the prince and begging him for money or protection. But, when she finds herself forced to travel to Montebianco for work purposes, Lily’s plans to stay out of the prince’s way go awry when she finds herself arrested and thrown inside a prison cell, where she soon comes face to face again with Nico, who demands to know the reason why she has kept his son a secret from him!

Nico is stunned to find himself confronting the woman he has been unable to forget for the last couple of years. Although, he had been immediately attracted to her that night when they had met and made love, duty demanded that he forego the desires of his heart for the rigorous demands of royal responsibility. Ever since he became Crown Prince of Montebianco, Nico had been betrothed to Princess Antonella, but as soon as he found out that he had fathered a son, he called off his engagement and demanded that Lily become his wife -whether she likes it or not!

The last thing Lily wants to do is marry into royalty, but she knows that she cannot deprive her son of his heritage. Yet, Lily is troubled by the fact that Nico seems so different from the man she had first met years ago. He might look the same and his kisses might reawaken the same feelings which they evoked during that fateful night, but can she ever be happy with a man who makes it blatantly clear that although he will share her bed, he will never share with her his heart?

Cavelli’s Lost Heir’s winning blend of steamy sensuality, electrifying sexual tension, heart wrenching emotion and intense romance will keep readers riveted from the first page to the very last! Tender, sexy, glamorous, dramatic and fabulously readable, Cavelli’s Lost Heir is a must-read for Harlequin Presents fans from a fabulous new writer who is on her way to becoming one of the line‘s brightest stars: Lynn Raye Harris!

The Wolf Moons series is especially innovative, as the supernatural beings have their own special traits which let them respond differently from your typical werewolf. Linda Thomas-Sundstrom has developed a well-crafted paranormal tale where the reader will be kept emotionally involved from start to finish.

Although Tory McKidd knows the park where her murdered brother was found is exceedingly dangerous, her only concern is locating the one responsible for killing her beloved sibling. As a werewolf, she is aware of the ruthless rogue who is a shifter like her but only brings suffering to both humans and other werewolves in Miami. Determined to see him pay, she frequently roams the park hoping to discover the whereabouts of this elusive being. One night, a human cop is chasing a criminal, and one brief glance is all it takes for a powerful connection to be formed between them.

By being a cop, Adam Scott is fulfilling his dream to protect others, and he gets plenty of chances by working the night shift. When he saw a woman for only a moment following an exhausting pursuit, thoughts of her constantly keep invading his mind and make it difficult to concentrate on his current case which is surrounded with much mystery. Tory does not particularly like cops as she feels they did not handle her brother’s case well, yet realizes she and Adam are now linked with a possible future together. She also comes to understand his association with her could lead to him being in danger from the rogue werewolf, so Tory plans to make certain no harm comes to the human for whom she is coming to care.

Linda Thomas-Sundstrom entwines wonder with reality to create a compellingly fascinating paranormal read. The mystical aspects are believably depicted and leave one speculating as to what course of action would be followed if the same situations arose around you. Ms. Thomas-Sundstrom has given her werewolves their own abilities and does not follow the norm, making her story inventively original. When readers are introduced to Tory and her lifestyle is revealed, they will be charmed by her compassion and awed by her capabilities. The way werewolves blend in with the humans seems convincing, and left me wondering if there is the slightest possibility of fiction becoming fact. There are several extremely touching scenes where inner feelings come to the surface, and these sentiments frequently cause the reactions of Tory and Adam to be fueled by heartfelt sincerity. The desperate longing felt by these two for the other adds much tension to their lives, and also makes the passion between them all the more potent when they finally meet. Theirs is a complex love story, and the author definitely has numerous trials arising all throughout the book. When it comes to the suspenseful circumstances, some are frighteningly realistic and will leave your heart pounding as you await the outcome. There is another story in the intriguing Wolf Moons series next month, and I am very eager to see what happens. RED WOLF captivates with the enthralling combination of suspenseful supernatural phenomenon, earnest emotions and a passionate romance.
