These social workers continuously assess the safety and well-being of identified children; provide comprehensive family-centered, solution focused interventions that will strengthen parents’ capacity to protect and nurture their children; initiate court action when a child is not safe at home and an alternative placement is necessary. Child Protective In-Home Services and comprehensive child welfare services are provided to approximately 12 families at a time. Family members speak Spanish primarily. Strong collaboration and advocacy with other agencies that provide services to immigrants, both documented and undocumented is necessary. Flexibility and strong organizational skills are needed to meet the needs of families often in crisis in addition to complying with all legal and agency standards. We are looking for energetic persons who have a background in CPS and/or a commitment to a career in the CPS field. REQUIRES: Master's degree from an accredited school of social work with Child Welfare Collaborative; or Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of directly related experience; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work with Child Welfare Collaborative and one year of directly related experience; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of directly related experience; or a four year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and three years of directly related experience; or graduation from a four year college or university and four years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination or education and experience. NCSW is preferred. Must have a valid Driver's license. This is considered light work; lifting up to 20 pounds.
