How Do Online Fax Services Work?

What is online fax service?

Internet fax or also called e-fax and online fax is the exchange of fax using the internet rather than the traditional fax machine that is connected to a telephone line. Online fax is capable of sending and receiving messages both through internet and fax machine.

How do online fax services work?

Like the traditional faxing, there is an assigned fax number to those who sign up for the efax service. This assigned number is where people can send you their faxes, emails and more using the fax machine or internet and vice versa.

How to send an online fax?

Attach the document or email to be sent.

Type in the receiver’s fax number followed by the faxing service.

The online fax service will format your message so that it can be received via fax machine.

The recipient’s fax machine will print your attachment.

Is there a free online fax service?

There are free e-fax services you can sign up to. However, it comes with very limited type of services. Subscribing is the only way to get full features. Most of the online fax services standard premiums are priced around $10/month and has a limited number for sending and receiving fax. You can choose your subscription depending on the number of send/receive service you need.

How safe is online fax service?

Online faxing is safer compared to printed fax. For one, it receives and sends messages directly to the person’s computer. Unlike fax machines, when left unattended, confidential materials are at risk of being stolen. They also come with security features and encryptions to keep your messages safe. Many efax services also uses confirmation emails to prevent fraudulent fax or use of your online fax service account.

Printer Problems: Xerox Phaser Error Code 20 Causes and Fixes

What is Error 20 on Xerox Phaser?

Error 20 is an error code in Xerox laser printers which indicates interior hardware damage. This printer problem usually occur after installation of new parts or supplies. It means the installation was not done correctly or a part is already worn out and needs replacing. Here’s what to do when Error 20 Code appears on Xerox Phaser 6500.

What are the causes of Error 20?

There are several reasons for this printer error to happen. It is likely to have something to do with one or two of the replaced interiors or supplies including toner cartridge, imaging drum unit, precision rollers, transfer kit and main charge grid.

How to fix printer error 20?

Toner cartridge

When this error code appears, one of the first thing to check is the toner level. It might be too low to print with consistency that it requires replacement. If you have replaced the toner cartridge and the error persists, reinstall the cartridge. Turn off the printer wait for a few seconds before turning it back on.

Imaging Drum Unit

In most cases, this error code serves as warning that the drum unit has already reached the end of its lifecycle. Drum unit contains more toner than cartridges so when it’s depleted, change it immediately to continue printing. If the drum unit still has sufficient amount of supply or is new, try to remove and reinstall it again. Make sure that it is safely locked in place. Turn off the printer for a few seconds than turn it back on.

Transfer belt

Transfer kit is a sensitive and a vital part of the printer. When it’s worn out, it is advisable to replace it before continuing on printing. Transfer kit if not replaced causes much more damage to the printer. Turn off and unplug the printer and let it cool down for a few minutes. Open the front cover and push the lever that locks in the transfer belt and raise it carefully to remove it. Lift it gently on the side and slide it gently to completely remove. Replace the transfer belt with the new one. Make sure to lock it safely before putting back the lid. Plug and turn on the printer.

These are the common fixes for Xerox Phaser 6500 error code 20. If the problem persists, call in a printer technician to completely evaluate or diagnose the printer.

For many reasons, there are still people who are hesitant in using compatible ink cartridges. It’s almost the same about the people who find also difficult to distinguish which ones are the OEMs and which are compatibles. To help you with your shopping here are some ways to tell whether you are buying a compatible or not. In this article, we will be using HP 4620 ink for comparison:

What is HP 4620 ink?

HP OfficeJet 4620 uses HP 564 ink cartridge series. It comes in 4 individual colors – black, cyan, magenta and yellow. Both color and black cartridges come in economy or standard yield and high yield.

HP 564 black or B3B11AN / CB316WN – Priced at $13.59 for standard and $16.99 for XL

HP 564 cyan or B3B12AN / CB318WN – Priced at $9.99 for standard and $14.99 for XL.

HP 564 magenta or B3B13AN / CB319WN – Priced at $9.99 for standard and $14.99 for XL. HP 564 HP 564 yellow or B3B14AN / CB320WN – Priced at $9.99 for standard and $14.99 for XL.

How can you tell if the HP ink cartridge is genuine?

Use of smartphone.

A genuine HP ink cartridge has a QR code or security seal. Simply use your QR code scanner app or download HP SureSupply App.

Label

As mentioned, HP ink cartridge has a security seal and it has an HP logo, “OK” and “√” signs in the same direction in a blue strip.

Log in www.hp.com/go/ok and type in your cartridge serial number.

HP Store

You can be sure that an HP ink is genuine when you buy on their physical and web store. Also, HP has a replacement programs which sends customers their replacement ink cartridges when the ink or toner level hits low.

Is there a difference between a compatible and a genuine cartridge?

Surely there is. In terms of prices, compatible replacements are much cheaper than the OEM. Depending on the kind of replacement you are looking for. There are premium ones, which are considered brand new and made from highest kind of materials and formulation comparable to that of their genuine counterpart. They are also patented and specifically designed to work on their model printers. They are 25%- 35% cheaper yet offers the same if not better print quality.

Remanufactured or refurbished cartridges are from worn out OEMs. What these aftermarket companies do is they replace the worn out parts with new ones and refill the cartridges with compatible ink or toner. Replacements like these allows you to save up to 70%.

HP Printer Won’t Print Black

If your HP printer won’t print black or missing in colors even with newly installed ink cartridges, don’t fuss. It’s a pretty normal printer problem you can encounter at least once in your printer’s lifespan. Here’s what you can do. It’s a step by step simple solution to keep your machine printing.

Why is my printer missing in colors?

There are several reasons your HP printer won’t print black or other color. The only way to find the solution is to remove the cartridges and start diagnosing the problem from there.

What are the possible causes of missing colors?

Clogged printer head:

Turn on printer and open lid cover to cartridge compartment. If you are using an HP Photosmart, wait for the cartridges to stop in the middle before removing them. Be careful not to touch the printhead.

Next, lift the lever that locks the cartridge container. Remove the cartridge compartment.

Your ink cartridges might be okay and new but your print head might be full of gunk and dried inks.

To clean, you can ran or dip the container under a warm water to dissolve dried inks.

Once cleaned, dry the container with clear tissue or paper.

Put it back into the printer and lock into place. Reinstall the ink cartridges and run test print.

Update printer driver:

If it is not the ink cartridge or the printhead, then one cause could be an outdated driver. Update your driver by running your printer utility application or tool. You can also update by visiting their website https://support.hp.com and type in your printer model. They give you a direct link to your drivers and other updates needed.

You can also try restarting your printer after reinstalling the new cartridges. By doing so, the printer is prompt to run the new cartridges and calibrate them. Follow the instructions until completed.

How to Change Canon MG2520 Ink Cartridge?

When it’s time to replace Canon MG2520 ink cartridge, proper installation is needed to make it work with the printer. It is vital that changing the ink cartridge is done correctly to avoid possible printer problems.

What is Canon MG2520 ink cartridge?

Canon MG2520 uses FINE PG245 black ink cartridge that comes in standard yield of 180 sheets and high yield in 300 sheets. Its color inks of CL246 in tri-color cartridge in high yield of 300 sheets. They are one of FINE (Full Photolithographic Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) Technology ink cartridge lines for Canon Pixma series. What makes it different from other Canon ink cartridges is its built-in mechanical printhead instead of one that are found in printers. Therefore, they should be handled differently and carefully.

How do I change the ink cartridge?

Open printer’s front cover. Look for the ink cartridge compartment.

Remove empty ink cartridge by pushing it down the cartridge lever until it clicks.

Take out new replacement ink cartridge and remove protective seal. (DO NOT leave the cartridge unsealed as it will cause the ink to dry.)

Insert new cartridge. Lift the cartridge lever until it locks in position.

Do the same with the other ink cartridge if both need replacing.

Close cover lid and run test print.

What other printers uses PG245 and CL246?

PG245 and CL246 are also compatible with Canon PIXMA MX492, MG2420, MG2520, MG2920, MG2922, MG2924, MX492, iP2820 inkjet printer series.

How to handle FINE ink cartridges?

When replacing a FINE ink cartridge, it is important to give extra attention on its printhead as it will cause damage to the cartridge and may deem unusable or unreadable to the printer.

Do not touch the electrical parts or printhead nozzle of the cartridge. Avoid contacting it with bare hands or hitting it on other hard surfaces.

Do not leave your printer open and empty of the cartridges or when the cartridges are installed. This may dry up the nozzles and causes clogged ink.

Do not hold or stop the cartridge while it is printing. Forcing the cartridge to stop will damage your printer and cartridge.

Printers with the Cheapest Ink

What printers have the cheapest ink?

Although there are certainly printers with cheap ink and toner prices, many consumers assume that they actually save money by buying them. An economical printer may have an ink or toner that costs more than the printer itself. Cheap printer ink does not exactly amount to savings. Printers with the cheapest ink are printers that are cost-efficient.

What makes a printer cost-efficient?

Price – It is something to consider when you want a printer that is cost-efficient. Generally, there are printers that are affordable yet still cover all your basic printing, copying, scanning or faxing needs. Functionality, speed, paper capacity. Monthly cycle and energy usage are some key features you need to look for in a printer.

Cartridge page yield – The higher the page yield, the longer you don’t have to replace the cartridge. You will be able to create documents in thousands of pages before the need to replace arise.

Cost per page – Another factor for cost-efficiency is the cost per page (cpp). It determines the true cost of printer ownership and its cost efficiency. Ideally, the lower your cost per page, the more your ink or toner cartridge is efficient. Toner cartridges is pricier than ink cartridge. However, you can save more with toner cartridge as it yields higher than the ink and therefore has lower cost per page.

Monthly duty cycle – The printer comes with the rating of how many pages it can print in a month. This is one to consider when choosing a printer. You may not exactly reach the number of cycle but the number of pages you print in a month may be closer. Why is this important? It’s because the number of pages determines the capacity of the mechanics. If the printer prints more than its page capacity, chances are the interior gets worn out easily and causes more damage. Repairs are costly.

How can you make your printer cost-efficient?

Use compatibles. OEM ink and toner cartridges are pricey and possibly ruins the budget in the long run. Printers with the cheapest ink uses compatible cartridges. A consumer can save from 30% to 70% on their printing expenses simply by using compatibles. Compatible replacement cartridges offers options of multipacks and combo packs. They offer the same amount of pages like OEM yet comes in almost half the price. This instantly lowers the cost per page.

Use draft mode. When printing not so important documents, use the draft mode. It limits the amount of ink or toner during printing.

New Ink Cartridge but Will Not Print

Epson XP-410 ink said low level so you replaced the old ink cartridge with a new. Unfortunately, when you started printing, nothing shows on the page. What’s wrong? There are many possible reasons why a new ink cartridge won’t print. Below are some causes and fixes you need to know. If you want to learn more about Brother printer no toner override, look at the True Image.

Why is my printer not printing after changing the cartridge?

There are several reasons that could apply on your case. These could be:

Not removing the protective tape

New cartridges have protective tape. Not only that it keeps the ink from leaking, but it actually protects the print nozzle of the cartridge which is very sensitive. Do not touch the print nozzle when removing the tape. Otherwise, it may get damaged and the printer will not be able to read the cartridge. If you happen to remove the tape but did not install it right away, the ink might have dried out.

Not resetting the cartridge counter

A reason why your ink cartridge was not recognized by the printer is because you fail to reset the ink cartridge counter. Even if the cartridge is new but the counter was not reset, the printer will read the cartridge as empty. To reset Epson XP-410 ink counter:

Simply and hold the load/eject button for a few seconds.

Open the cartridge compartment and lift the cartridge lever.

DO NOT remove the cartridge. After a few seconds, push back the lever and shut the compartment.

Press the load/eject again.

Run test print.

Not correctly installed cartridge

The problem might be very simple. The installation was done incorrectly. Follow the installation procedure from the manual. Insert the correct ink cartridge to the correct slot. Make sure they are safely locked. You might need to repeat the installation again if necessary. Shake the ink cartridge from side to side to even the supply. Do not leave the ink cartridge exposed for a long time because it will dry out the ink.

Defective Cartridge

If you followed the steps and your new ink cartridge is still not printing, there is a possibility the cartridge replacement is defective. Check the manufacturer or the retailer’s warranty and ask for another replacement or refund.

Getting the right printer for your office also requires a lot of thinking. Yes, there are numbers of great printers in the market but not all of them can cater to your needs, or perhaps they are more than what you need. Having the right printer will save you resources and lets you have significant savings in the long run.

Here are some guide question you need to consider when choosing the right printer.

What should I look for in a printer?

Regardless of the printer price, what you must really consider is the price of its cartridges. Whether ink or toner cartridge, the supplies are what you’re going to buy for the longest time. Cheapest printer ink or toner is not determined by the printer. If you choose a multifunction printer that print, scan, copy and fax, it will most likely cost you to buy replacements every now and then. A full price set of OEM ink or toner cartridges will set you back at least $150 or more depending on the brand and page yield. So you really might want to consider the price tag on that printer cartridge.

What do I the printer for?

The designs and features of printers are wide in variations. So how do you pick the right one amongst the plethora of brands and models? First, find out your printing needs. Do you lean more on document-demanding prints or do you mostly print images? Will a monochrome printer suffice to carry out your requirements? Does it have to be a color printer? Once you have all these criteria, it will be easier for you to sort out the kind of printer you need.

Of course, every printer has their own counterpart on other brands. Professional opinion would matter too so it is better to ask on other technical features offered.

Here are other things to consider:

Page yield of cartridges

Monthly duty cycle

Cost per page

Print speed

Resolution

Finding the cheapest printer ink or toner can be a bit challenging. However, getting the right printer for your office gives you the biggest savings.

How to Replace Cartridge on Pixma Printer?

Ink cartridge replacement is required when your printer shows an error or warning message of insufficient ink supply. There are printers that use individual ink cartridges and most of the time not all of them need replacing. The Canon Pixma printer cartridges varies from 2 to 8 ink colors. Knowing how to replace these cartridges will help continue your printing without delay. Here’s how to replace Canon Pixma MG3620 ink cartridges.

How to remove the ink cartridge?

Turn on the printer. Open the front lid. Make sure there are no stuck paper on the cassette.

Open output cover and locate the cartridges.

Remove the cartridge by gently pushing down the cartridge lever until the lock clicks.

If the ink cartridge does not release, reposition it again and push down the lock until it can be completely removed. (DO NOT touch the metallic parts in the machine).

Take a new ink cartridge. Shake the ink cartridge gently from side to side to even the supply inside.

Remove the protective tape. DO NOT touch the print head or nozzle.

Enter the new cartridge in a slant position into the compartment. Push up the cartridge lever until you hear a click.

An electronic sound will confirm if the installation was done correctly.

Close cover lid. Start printing.

What if the printer can’t read my ink cartridge?

The most common reason why ink cartridges can’t be read by the printer is because of wrong installation. Make sure that the correct ink cartridge is inserted in the correct slot. Issues of misalignment is also one of the reasons.

On Canon Pixma MG3620 for instance, the print head might be clogged even if the ink cartridge is new. Make sure to remove any dried inks before installing.

How do I know which ink cartridge needs replacing?

You can check Printer Properties from your computer. It will indicate the supply level of each ink cartridge and other options you can have to continue printing if no replacement cartridge is available.

What if I continue printing despite low levels of ink?

There are tricks on making your printer print the remaining ink in the cartridge. However, these are only temporary solutions. You will eventually have to replace the cartridges once they are depleted or reached their indicated page yield. Replacing the ink cartridges is necessary for your printer to continue printing and prevent interior damage.

What is a Canon Printer Passphrase?

What is a passphrase?

A passphrase is a combination of letters, numbers, spaces and punctuations used as a security key for network connections. It is basically a sentence and case-sensitive to make it hard to remember. A Canon printer with a wireless feature like Canon MX492 usually requires a passphrase to connect and set up a protected network or wi-fi access.

Example of a passphrase: +#!s !s a p@$$p#12a$3

What is the difference between a passphrase and a password?

A password is another protective measure for network or wi-fi access. Its difference with the passphrase is a password that only contains one grouping of letters, numbers or punctuations and without spaces.

Example of password: p@$$w0rd

Is having a passphrase important to connect to wi-fi or network?

Not necessarily. However, wireless printers like Canon MX492 is capable of creating password or passphrase as an added security feature. A network you might want to connect to may require a passphrase, or if you want to know or limit the people who can access your printer network, you can simply create a passphrase.

How do you set a Passphrase for Canon Printer?

Note: Make sure you know your IP address, network name and security password for WEP, WAP, or WPA2 whichever you use for your wireless connection.

Open your web browser and access the IP address of your wireless router.

Log in to your ISP password and ID.

Select your network connection. Select change password/passphrase.

Type in password/passphrase and save.

How to connect to a network with a passphrase?

Open your computer control panel. Go to Devices and Printers.

Select your printer.

Right click and select Configuration.

Click wireless LAN.

Select Use WPA, WPA2 in Encryption Method then click Configuration.

Click Change Settings to open window.

Select Authentication type then Next.

You will be asked to enter the passphrase. Type in your passphrase and select encryption type.

Click Finish.

Check if your printer is connected. Run test print.

You can always set your printer to automatically connect to your access network. However, if you want a protected and secured connection, creating your Canon printer passphrase will help you secure confidential files and other documents created through your printer.

Brother Printer Status Offline on Windows 10

What are the reasons for Brother Printer Offline status to show?

Many have experienced their Brother Printer offline after a Windows 10 update. However, this connection problem does not only occur during an OS update or driver update. There are various reasons for your printer to go offline. It could be something else other than the two common culprits. Solve this printer problem the easiest way.

How to bring Brother Printer back online?

Below are some methods you can try to solve your printer problem:

Method 1:

Check printer connectivity

Printer could show offline when not connected properly to the pc, internet network or device. When this happens, check on your connectivity following these steps.

Restart printer. Wait until printer is fully ready.

Check your printer connection. Are you using connected via wireless, USB or cable? If you are using cable connection, make sure that they are plugged properly and securely on your pc and printer. If you are using wireless connection, make sure you are connected to the right network internet access and IP address. A wireless icon on your printer will lit-up if you are connected.

Run test print. If problem persists, continue to the next method.

Method 2:

Check Printer status

If you are properly connected but the Brother Printer remains offline, then it might have something to do with the printer status. It might not be set as the default printer or it might be offline or paused. The only way to know is to check. Here’s how:

Go to Printers and Devices from Control Panel.

Select your printer. Right click to open drop down. Click on “See what’s printing”

Click on “Set as default printer”.

Below the “Set as default printer” you can see your printer status – offline or paused. If the printer is paused, simply click on “Resume printing”. You can also set your printer to print offline.

Run test print.

If problem persists, cancel the print queue. You can opt to add a second printer or call on a professional printer technician.

What Are The Common Types Of Printing Paper In The Office?

What are the basic types of printing paper?

There are various types of printing paper in office supplies depots and you might find yourself confused of which one to pick. Each paper is made for a different purpose and some even made for specific printers. Knowing which paper to buy and to use for a printing requirement will help you achieve better printout quality. Here are some of the most common papers you might need.

For Laser Printers

Laser Paper- There is a type of printing paper made specifically for laser printers. Laser paper is made to match the features of a laser printer and hold toner powder better. It is best for printing address and mailing labels as well as checks.

Bright white paper- This type of paper is what we generally use when printing documents. It has smooth surfaces that gives better results for printing texts and simple images. It is non-textured and can be used to print in duplex or double-sided.

For Inkjet Printers

Matte paper – For daily and general use, this printing paper works well with inkjet printers. Its surface is absorbent and quick-dry for inks.

Glossy paper – Often confused with photo paper because of its glossy surface. Good for general use, it is however prone to smudge. A quality paper for photos but takes some time to dry the ink when printed on.

Photo paper – Specifically for printing photos. This printing paper has similar glossy surface that creates vibrant colored pictures. The only difference is it is quick-dry and comes in different paper sizes, coating and weights.

Cardstock – Another commonly used type of paper, it is best for arts and crafts due to its sturdy and thick surface. Greeting cards, invitations, signage, scrapbooking and business cards are just some of its many uses.

What to consider when buying printing papers?

Here are some things to consider when buying printing paper for home and office use.

Brightness – This refers to the contrast and reflectiveness of the paper and how it holds ink and toner when printed on. The standard of brightness is rated from 1 to 100 which means the higher the figure, the better the paper quality. A typical office paper has the brightness of 80-100. Common photocopy paper has a brightness rate of 92 and its premium type has brightness of 96-97.

Finish – Surface texture determine how printable the paper is. This also affects its ink and toner absorption, mechanical strength and resistance to tear. Paper finish is rated from 1 to 5, 1 being the highest. The lower the number means the better quality. There are five common types of finishing qualities:

         Gloss

         Cast Coat

         Dull

         Silk

         Matte

Weight – It refers to the heaviness and thickness of the paper. Paper weight is rated by pounds or GSM (Grams per square meter) with measurement reference from the 500-sheet uncut printing-press paper or 17x22 inch paper weighs. The heavier the paper is, the sturdier it is. Heavy papers are often used to make cardstock, paperback, catalogs and postcards. On the other hand, what we normally use for printers is 20 lb paper category.

Opacity – This quality refers to the transparency of the paper. It measures how much a paper can block light from passing through. This determines how a paper hold and passes through ink or toner to the other side when printed on. Basically, the thicker the paper, the less likely the prints will be visible on the other side.

Texture or Smoothness – This refers to the ‘feel’ of the paper’s surface. It can come as coated or uncoated which is determined by the materials used during manufacturing. Bond papers have non-textured surfaces that are best for home and office printing as well as handwriting.

Paper size – There are various paper sizes and dimensions that are commonly used for general printing. The regular printer paper sizes used in offices are:

8.5" x 11" – Letter size paper used commonly for standard and regular printing documents.

8.5" x 14" – Legal size paper has extra length for printing documents especially those that needs signatures.

11" x 17" – Tabloid size is comparable to 2 letter sized papers that is typically used for printing magazines, brochures and some self-publishing materials.

13" x 19" – Super B or wide format printer paper is equivalent to 2 tabloid sized papers or 4 letter size papers. Commonly used for printing newspapers.

A4 – 8.27 × 11.69 inches is the standard letter size in most European countries.

A5 – Measures 5.83x8.27 inches and the standard for Europe’s notebooks and paper books.

The letter size (8.5”x11”) is what we normally used in offices to print documents, copy papers, faxes, print presentations and more. This paper size is called “A” and is the standard paper size in the US. In Europe and some other countries, the standard letter paper size is A4. A5 on the other hand is the standard size for notebooks.

What is the best paper to use for document printing?

As mentioned, each type of printing paper has a different purpose. They have different values, materials and sizes that should be first in considerations to achieve great output. Using the right kind of paper not only produces best results but also saves money, energy and resources. If you are looking for a printer paper to be used at home and office for your letterhead and documents, then bond paper is the best choice. It has uncoated surface and absorbs ink or toner well. You only need to buy using the aforementioned guidelines to choose a high quality paper.

How to Change Canon MP495 Ink Cartridge?

What is Canon Pixma MP495?

Canon MP495 is an all-in-one personal inkjet printer of the Pixma series. It features all the basic technologies of printers today including LED display, wired and wireless connections, printer apps and its basic functionalities – print, copy and scan.

What ink cartridge does MP495 uses?

MP495 uses PG-210XL for black and CL-211XL for tricolor ink cartridge. Both ink series are available in high yield. PG-210 also known as 2973B001 yields about 401 pages and 2975B001 reaches up to 349 pages. PG-210 is pigment-based while CL211 is dye-based. These makes printing color images more vibrant, true to life and long-lasting.

How to Change Canon MP495 ink cartridges?

The MP495 has a different design compared to other printers of the same series. For one, the location of its cartridge compartments are found under the scanner bed. Therefore, installation and replacement is also done differently. Here’s how:

Turn on printer and open paper output tray.

Lift the scanner bed lid until you see the ink cartridge compartment below.

To remove ink cartridges, gently push and lift the lever that locks and covers the ink cartridges. Take out the ink cartridge by lifting it on a slant position. Do the same with the remaining cartridge.

Prepare the new ink cartridge replacement.

Remove protective seal. Be sure to not touch the printhead or the metallic part of the cartridge.

Gently shake from side to side to even out the ink inside the cartridge before installation.

Put the new cartridge into the compartment slightly slanted until it is securely positioned. Bring down the lever and push down until you hear the click. Do the same with the other cartridge.

Bring down the scanner bed to its position and wait until the printer reads the newly installed ink cartridges.

Run a test print.

Are there any precautions in handling Canon MP495 ink?

MP495 ink cartridges are FINE cartridges – a smarter and newer version of ink cartridges for Canon inkjet printers. A FINE cartridge has its own built-in printhead instead of in the printer. They are also smarter as they can signal errors and warning related to installation of cartridges.

When handling a FINE cartridge:

Do not touch the electrical parts or the metallic parts of the cartridge as it may cause damage.

Do not leave the ink cartridge exposed after removing the protective seal. This will dry out the ink inside.

When the ink cartridge is stained or has clogged ink, do not clean or remove with bare hands or cloth. As it is sensitive, you can simply use paper or tissue to remove clogged ink.

Do not perform any operations until cleaning is done. The printer automatically cleans the printhead once it is installed.

Kodak Verite 55 Wireless Inkjet Printer Review

Kodak Verite 55 is perhaps the most popular inkjet printers Kodak has produced. This multifunction wireless printer is inexpensive, compact and delivers consistent prints. What makes this printer different from other in the market? Let’s review this printer before Kodak completely stops manufacturing printers.

What are the best features of Kodak Verite 55?

There are few advantages and features this wireless printer has. Firstly, it’s convenient, compact and a space-saver. Its two main functions are printing and scanning and has an Eco Mode that we actually find useful – something that is not commonly found at printer of the same price point.

The Eco Mode button reduces 30% of Kodak printer ink usage. Something that most users would find very significant in lowering operational costs. It can also scan directly from smartphone or any compatible mobile devices. Note though that this printer is designed for occasional and personal printing requirements. It also has NFC connection

What Kodak printer ink does it use?

Verite 55 uses XXL black and XL colour ink cartridges of Kodak Verite 5 ink series. They are fast-drying and water-resistant so you can get the printing task done quickly and efficiently.

Is it worth it to buy this printer?

Although there are many printers that offers the same features and print quality Kodak printer has to offer, the most advantageous perhaps are the price of the printer and ink itself. Kodak Verite 55 has one of the cheapest operational cost and considering the nature of the company, they offer high quality inks that capture colors that are more vibrant and sharp.

What To Know About HP Global Warranty?

What is HP Global Warranty?

HP Global warranty covers standard warranty to a specific HP product bought in a particular country. For instance, if you have HP Officejet Pro 8610 in country A and will be moved to country B, if the product is present in the country B it will receive the same warranty offered in the country.

What does HP Global Warranty cover?

HP Global Warranty does not offer same warranty everywhere in the world. It does not affect HP Service Agreements and HP Service Contracts. It supports services to HP Hardware or HP Support Packs. HP products will not function to the country which is not intended to function for regulatory reasons.

What actions can be done to get warranty service?

When HP has no support present in the country of use, you are responsible in all actions and costs required to have warranty service. You can call HP customer support or Hp Authorized Support Providers for diagnostic concerns. For hardware services, there were two options: You can send off the particular part to HP Customer Support and It is your responsibility to deliver the part to its location. You could also move to the closest country where HP support is present in order to get an easy access to your concerns.

Is there a need to register again?

If you are going to move your HP product to a different country and you are asking if you will register it again, the answer is NO. HP has a worldwide warranty database that allows you to access warranty services that only requires to register once. As long as the country you moved in has an existing HP support there is no need to register again.

To promote the Global Warranty for valid customers, HP is giving 3 year warranty extension for HP officejet and HP officejet Pro selected printers. You might want to check if your printer is included.

How to claim the 3 year warranty extension?

You have to purchase HP 3 year warranty extension printers. (Ex. HP Officejet Pro 8610.)

Complete the details of your printer as well as your address date up to 60 days after the data of purchase.

After six weeks you will receive the confirmation email of your 3 year warranty registration.

How to Set Up HP Printer and Use HP ePrint

HP ePrint is a convenient printing application for HP printer users. It features wireless printing, web printing, mobile printing and direct to printer capabilities. Here’s our guide on how to set up.

What are the requirements to set up HP printer for ePrint?

There are 2 basic things needed for HP ePrint. One is that it only works on wireless printers and second, the printer must be HP ePrint enabled. Here’s how to check whether your printer is compatible;

Look for an HP ePrint logo, button or icon. It can be found easily on the printer control panel. HP LaserJet Pro 400 supports ePrint and has a built-in wireless connection.

If your printer’s control panel does not show the icon or button, check on Web Services Setup, Network Setup or Wireless Settings. Navigate the web services menu.

You can also check online to make sure your printer is ePrint supported.

Connect your printer to an Ethernet or wireless internet connection.

How to setup HP ePrint?

Turn on computer or directly turn on printer.

Wireless printers such as HP LaserJet Pro 400 or Photosmart series display an option to automatically connect to a wireless network without the need for a computer. Press YES to connect. Enter password/passphrase if required.

Once connected to the internet, an option of activating the web services will appear on the control panel/screen. Simply press OK to enable ePrint.

Setup the email address of your printer. Select services you want to use.

After selecting and setting up your email address, a manual on how to use ePrint tools and applications will be printed. This will allow you to limit recipients, emails address and more for setup.

How to print using ePrint?

HP ePrint handles print jobs that were sent via email address (the one you setup for your printer). You can send any print jobs from your computer, mobile devices and online storage anytime as long as you have access to the HP printer’s email address and an internet connection. It’s like sending an email, the only difference is your recipient will be your HP printer.

To send using your mobile, simply fill out the To: field of the printer’s email address. Make sure to add a subject line. HP ePrint tends to cancel a print job without a subject line.

ePrint allows you to print up to 10MB size of images and attachments. However, attachments are limited only up to 10 individual files.

When ready, simply send the document or image you want to print.

If this does not solve the problem, continue to Method 2.

Method 2:

Open Control Panel. Double click on ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS.

Click on SERVICES to open the list of services.

Scroll down and select PRINT SPOOLER.

Right click to open drop down. First, click on STOP to stop the print queue. Give it at least 10 seconds then right click on the PRINT SPOOLER again and click START.

Open DEVICES AND PRINTERS on CONTROL PANEL and select your printer. The print queue should be empty.

If the print queue still appears, you only need to restart your computer.

Run test print.

These methods can be used to resolve stuck print jobs on HP Deskjet 3050, home office or shared network printers.

Solving HP 50.4 Fuser Error

If your HP LaserJet 1320 is flashing the 50.4 Fuser Error, then your laser printer is probably requiring a fuser replacement. This type of printer error is related to its interior that may be malfunctioning due to worn out.

What causes 50.4 Fuser Error?

One of the main reasons for the fuser failure is its wiring. It could be that it no longer heating or warming up due to being worn out. The average lifespan of an HP printer is up to 100,000 pages. However, the fuser may fail prior to its end of life depending on its printing conditions.

Another reason could be prior printing errors especially paper jams. Not updating your HP LaserJet 1320 driver could lead to several more errors.

It could also mean that the power source is insufficient for the printer to run and print. It is important to meet the power requirement to prevent malfunctions.

How to fix the 50.4 Fuser Error?

If you are in the middle of a printing queue, you can try this temporary fix.

Cancel the printing queue.

Turn off the printer. Let it completely cool for 30 mins.

Turn on the printer and continue printing when ready.

Remember, this is only a temporary fix. The error warning means your fuser needs to be replaced already. Not replacing your fuser will further develop more printer problems and may cause it to breakdown.

Make sure to buy the correct fuser and a quality one for your printer to run perfectly again.

If the problem is due to insufficient power, you can try to use a low-voltage power supply. Most HP printer runs with 43 to 67Hz frequency. It may also only need proper reconnecting.

Turn off printer and let it cool down.

Unplug the power cord.

Reinstall the power cord and turn on the printer again.

If your printer is flashing interior parts error, it is best to check if they already need replacement. Interior errors usually lead more serious printer problems such as overheating that could breakdown your machine.

HP Officejet Pro 8600: How To Print On Cardstock

HP Officejet Pro 8600 has been one of the popular choices for small office printers. This compact all-in-one inkjet printer delivers all the basic requirements for occasional printing. With its flexible paper handling capacity, it can print, copy and scan on different paper sizes. Here’s are some common printing tips you can try.

How to print on cardstock?

Cardstock is a type of paper best used for printing postcards, business cards, catalogues and more. But due to its thickness and size, printing on them can be quite a challenge. Here’s how to print with HP Officejet Pro 8600:

Adjust paper tray. Go to ‘Printer and Devices’ and select ‘Paper Handling’ on the menu. Scroll and select “Heavy” or “Card Stock” on the “Tray” menu.

Change printer settings. Click on the document to be printed. Click on the “Print” option to open the dialog box for settings. Click on “Properties” >> “Paper Quality >> “Card Stock”. Click “Ok”.

Feed the paper. Place card stocks on the paper tray. Do not exceed the recommended number of sheets. Make sure all papers are of the same width and height. Adjust paper feeder and align.

Run a test print.

What happens if I don’t change the paper settings?

When you print without adjusting your printer to the kind of media you will use, you end up getting output that are of different size, color and quality than you expect. The amount of ink and the interior machine will have difficulty printing as it was not set properly.

Do I get a different outcome if I use a different paper?

Yes. Paper size and quality affect the output of your prints. The thickness or thinness of paper determines the amount of ink to be used or how it spreads on the paper. Other factors include the texture, opaqueness and material of paper. Depending on the kind of prints you want, there is an appropriate media and settings on the printer. You might need to check the manual which media is compatible with your HP Officejet Pro 8600.

Samsung SL-C1860FW: What Is NFC?

What is NFC in printers?

NFC or Near-Field Communication is a feature found in some printers such as Samsung Xpress C1860fw. In printing, it is a technology that allows a printer and mobile device to have a two-way communication in close proximity.

How is it different from other wireless connection such as Wi-Fi?

NFC is a short-range one-to-one connection of printer and mobile normally only within just a few inches, whereas the other wireless connection such as Wi-Fi is long-range and can easily accessed virtually anywhere within an area or building. By simply enabling the NFC feature on your printer, users don’t even have to download any printing app on their smartphones or connect to any network to print.

How to turn on NFC on my printer or phone?

For printers such as Samsung Xpress C1860fw, NFC icon is the ‘N’ symbol found on the touchscreen menu. As for mobiles especially on Android smartphones, Wireless connection options may include NFC along with Bluetooth, Android Beam, VPN and Wi-Fi connections which can be activated by simply tapping the switch on the dropdown.

How do you turn off NFC on your mobile device?

As convenient as this technology may be, some users do not want to turn on this feature. As this is a close-range sharing application, your device may send or receive data and other information once it is in close proximity with other devices. Depending on your Android version and phone model, NFC can be easily turned off by accessing wireless and networks menu.
