Does rickrack make you nostalgic, too? The Ben Franklin Five and Dime kept Grandma Heaton stocked with an unending supply of gingham and rickrack she used to make darling pillowcases. On the other side of my family tree, Grandma Black made adorable rickrack trimmed sundresses for me and my dolls. Ah . . . the good ole days, right?

Howdy, Stampers! If you’ve hopped here from the 3rd annual Mother of All Blog Hops (sponsored by There She Goes Clears Stamps) here’s a big ‘ole Texas Welcome. Don’t get too comfortable in that saddle, though, because I’m taking you to outer space and then it’s “Onward Ho” to your next stop.

I had a hard time picking just one favorite so I decided to pay tribute to Houston’s Nasa Space Center. (Gotta represent Texas, right?) So . . . Houston, We have Lift-off!

My little astronaut is fussy cut, paper pieced and Copic colored. To color his face I used my standbys: Copic Markers E30, E11, and E000 and some Stampin’ Up! Pastels (chalks) for his cheeks. I just let the stamp set, Out of This World, and the October Afternoon Rocket Age paper do all the rest.
