What has Adobe worked out with Facebook. All pre-intel chip Mac G4s, laptops, towers, et and OS 10.5 will not allow Flash content to play on Facebook, while watching on Youtube or other sites streaming the content work fine using the Flash player 10. This doesn't add up. Meaning all pre-intel chip Apples, OS 10.5 or before, are expected to enjoy a limited edition of FB - less any flash content, while all streams fine from Youtube. What a cram down!

Occupy Broadway Big Hit! OWS Lives On and Beyond

OWS UPDATES

Occupation Broadway was smashing success.
Saturday performance went well with
“Bye Bye All Those Wall Street Lies”
parody on '71 hit "Miss American Pie," and
"We Shall Overcome."
____________________

So Bye, Bye all those Wall St Lies.
The 99 percent is here and ready to RISE!
And them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and lied
Singing this'll be the day Wall st died.
Sining this'll be the day Wall St. died.

A long long time ago, I can still remember
How my bank teller used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance,
That I could make those dollars dance
And maybe I’d be happy for a while
But Fall ‘08 made me shiver,
Mountains high of toxic paper .
More bad news on the doorstep
with globalized economics.
I can't remember if I cried,
When I read about how Bernie Lied!
But something touched me deep inside,
The day – that day, that Wall street died/cried.

Did you write the book of hope
And do you have faith the Fed can cope?
If the senate tells you so?
Now do you believe in toxic loans?
Can bank bail outs save your simple home?
And can you teach us how to think real slow?
Well, you know some ---------- 1 percent,
Ran the banks on shorts without even a scent.
Some sat back and smiled,
While the markets fell a mile!
We were a lonely first class one time bunch.
With a lot of hope, not on some Wall St dope.
I knew we were running with little luck,
The day that Wall St died.

Now, for 200 years we've been on our own,
Where no toxic moss grows on a rolling stone
But that's not how it used to be,
When Goldman Sachs sang for FDIC
In a coat they borrowed from AIG
When the showdown stage lights grew dim.
Oh and while the SEC pants were down
Madoff stole the all time crown.
The congress couldn’t sort,
An mp3 from a CDO.
While commissions paced - the traitors danced
The DOW fell down beneath Euro trance.
Most counted pennies in the dark,
In the days, as Wall St died.

who recently just married the highly esteemed piano virtuoso and teacher Johana Harris) on what was an assignment in altered chromaticism involving 12 tone rows and retrograde inversions. My “misunderstanding” evolved into my theoretical conception that “no pattern” or motif sequence was in any regards to be repeated in any context, therefore leaving the motif subject to no repetition in any regard whatsoever during the course of the entire piece, as far as it’s original form or statement was concerned, but with the exception of designation in a displaced homophonic manner but then, and only then, for the purpose of designating a cadence or otherwise, but never in original color or serial origin.
The outcome was such as reflected in this recording, listen here. I’d like to suggest this theoretical form as a an alternative to the highly publicized school Kyle Gann, Mikel Rouse and the like have come to coin as “Totalism” and perhaps a bit of “Nothingism,” nonetheless! And therefore a nod to the king of "nothingisms!"

!5 Mins On YouTube - Watch Out CNN

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 158px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3owtbEZiGic/TF_HDYsMMTI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/j8Emas5IRBs/s320/gulliver_travels_tied_by_lilliputians.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5503336130651369778" />

Yahoo News report that YouTube’s expanding it’s upload baseline to 15 minutes for basic members, (as opposed to unlimited time for Gurus and pre-spring subscribers of ‘06) is a benchmark in new media none could have imagined 10 years ago.. Broadcasting world-wide from any one of our kitchens, diners or favorite park benches is now possible! And as digital real estate and broadband costs drop, it wont be long before this media giant increases the same to 30 minutes, if not more.

As we have come to discover the artistry of others we'd likely never come to know with this media mammoth, so too, I believe, will other content begin to spring among our motivated and aspiring "citizen journalist," with this unique accessibility. Enough already with "internet radio" streaming, now you can be the next "CBS" to "CNN." I don't think it will be long before the goal post moves again. 10 minutes has been a God send for short films, and it likely wont be long before we hear of the next great "unknown" feature film making it's debut on their servers.

To my nieces and nephews -

i think this edit is as deserving as RM gtr genius is with taking a song by Pete and going with it where he did.. The below On the Media interview with Concert promoter John Scher directly addresses this "phenomenon" and characterizes such as the "dark ages" for concert promotion in years ahead. And I couldn't agree more. (although i don't agree with his theory as to why ticket prices are so high these days. It's my impression if promoters saw people scalping 35.00 tix for 150.00, promoters got savvy and simply cut out another middleman. Did staging acts really see "that" much of an increase in their take home ?

A New Darkness On The Edge Of Town

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3owtbEZiGic/SsiUZEDUbpI/AAAAAAAAAG0/GpYqyDGKoxM/s320/bruce+darknessedge2.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388720112454102674" />
Last night I saw my first, and probably last, Bruce Springsteen concert at the Meadowlands. Why ? Because it just couldn’t be beat. Just couldn’t. A perfect night! Temperature. And as if staged, the falling rain started to “lightly” sputter before Bruce could pull his guitar cord after finishing the last song.

They band played the album “Darkness On The Edge Of Town,” start to finish, to mark the series of album shows performed over the last week in the Wetlands. “Promise Land” lit the night with the diehard NJ audience articulating every chorus like a well-oiled machine. Bruce was among “his” people. And they gladly sang along with all their hearts. It was his hometown, the Meadowlands, Friday night. I’ll never forget it.

The HD video screens brought profound realism and intimacy for the distant viewers less fortunate to make it down to the floor. I’d be very surprised if the show(s) isn’t going to be coming out on DVD, because it was a historical performance in many a context. The cameras and real time cuts clearly suggested something worth owning in the future.

It’s hard to imagine the boss turned 60 just a few short weeks ago. But if there were anyone that could exemplify 60 as the new 40, Bruce is it. But what amazed me more than the great show last night, was the NJ audience and fans. Those fans, I believe, are truly a class of their own. From the early tailgater goers to the SRO elbow to elbow folks on the floor and stage center. They are a unique bunch. But what one ought to question, I’m afraid, is whether in times ahead, will subsequent generations ever come to know an act that could command an audience as I witnessed last night? And my sense is that this, what I saw last night, the performance and all, is the waning crescent of a distancing star.

As AOR, album oriented rock, and the era of how artists were developed since the time of the Beatles, and how major labels populated the majority of the airwaves, it’s my impression eventually this sort of “phenomenon” I witnessed Friday night will eventually be a thing of the past. Just a memory. And Bruce may well be among the last to command an audience that size, as such, again.

With CBS and other major labels no longer tooling the minds of pop culture, and what “pop culture” once was, it would seem their mastery in how greats like Bruce came to be will eventually lessen in time. And the stardom like I saw last night, will similarly diminish due to how the advent of the Internet, mp3s and social registries like Myspace and Facebook compartmentalized how major record labels operated for over a century.

Oct 3, 2009

Old hangs, friends, lovers and nites of all the rest. My mom would have been so touched, you can be sure, had she survived, - she'd be reading "Dear Georgia."
Our family's history with the democratic party is profound, from all of us having chanced to meet JFK*, in the early 60's, to present, there couldn't be stronger ties. And more so now than ever, especially given the current fiscal disaster out west and Arnold's necessity to panhandle his way out of a corrupt housing crisis, all can be quite humble and thankful this administration is on the page of "America."
Thank you for the note Mr. President.

JMP

Subject: A day to celebrate and aspire
Date: Saturday, July 4, 2009 2:02 PM
From: President Barack Obama <democraticparty@democrats.org>
Reply-To: democraticparty@democrats.org
To: John Pendley <jp@johnmichaelpendley.com>

John --

This weekend, our family will join millions of others in celebrating America. We will enjoy the glow of fireworks, the taste of barbeque, and the company of good friends. As we all celebrate this weekend, let's also remember the remarkable story that led to this day.

Two hundred and thirty-three years ago, our nation was born when a courageous group of patriots pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to the proposition that all of us were created equal.

Our country began as a unique experiment in liberty -- a bold, evolving quest to achieve a more perfect union. And in every generation, another courageous group of patriots has taken us one step closer to fully realizing the dream our founders enshrined on that great day.

Today, all Americans have a hard-fought birthright to a freedom which enables each of us, no matter our views or background, to help set our nation's course. America's greatness has always depended on her citizens embracing that freedom -- and fulfilling the duty that comes with it.

As free people, we must each take the challenges and opportunities that face this nation as our own. As long as some Americans still must struggle, none of us can be fully content. And as America comes ever closer to achieving the perfect Union our founders dreamed, that triumph -- that pride -- belongs to all of us.

So today is a day to reflect on our independence, and the sacrifice of our troops standing in harm's way to preserve and protect it. It is a day to celebrate all that America is. And today is a time to aspire toward all we can still become.

With very best wishes,

President Barack Obama

July 4th, 2009

P.S. -- Our nation's birthday is also an ideal time to consider serving in your local community. I spent some time with it months ago - but couldn't determine fully the pros or cons on either or why I should bother. But now faced with a big job, member-side features, bulletin boards and anticipated user-interface file exchange(s), I had to weigh in between Drupal or Joomla..

For starters, Xampp will not work on Mac OS for recognizing Joomla, and suspect the same for Drupal. So that meant a Mamp install, MySQL config (pre-installing/sourcing CMS in htdocs folder!!!) and then Joomla launch. All of which was a headache since I couldn't remember whether I created "master" admin vs regular admin, and which pertained to either the database vs the backend admin privileges of J. Stay organized as you admin your install.. Easy if everything installs correctly, and you have no previous MySQL databases/privileges or username discrepancies.

Having finally got the admin sign-in working, I sought out some templates, tutes to follow on template installs, and then some to get up to speed on navigating the system configuration and how it works. It was a headache at times, but i was able to finally get a banner logo installed and fumbled around the file hierarchy, folder locals, et.

The membership feature and modular aspect of how I envision to integrate files exchanges should, I hope, make this production easier, especially if membership should take off. So there's bound to be a little frontend learning curve on design, formatting and installing needed plugins. Just more WIP and remaining patient. It's my impression the PHP integration of the system is probably one of the louder bells, than whistles when it comes to SEO objectives. So, we'll see. In due time.

Nevertheless, I'm optimistic with getting the CFM community concept "on-line" soon, and tugging on favors/ears/code from developers far and wide. This is a project I started 5 years ago, however untimely, pre-broadband (50%) across most cultural and socio-economic lines. But with that changed now, and prices on related software/hardware more accessible, perhaps things will line up more readily..

Stay tuned !

"Back to me"

KE - tearing it up. My concept was that musicians of various points of the planet could join together, collaborate and produce songs in each of their locations and share the files, using - Protools or Logic, and make an "open source" or "open system" type of production that all around the globe could add on to, musical parts or variations, et, in each of their various creative ways from wherever anyone may be online and connected via broadband.

As some may remember, it was during that fall that broadband bandwidth for ISP's in the US had just exceeded over 50 percent of home ISPs, “internet service providers.” It was my impression it would take some time before this would become viable in other countries due to bandwidth yet to have reached comparable levels of home usage. A month ago I had just learned of some friends in Sommerset, SA that just came online at home in a modest income community.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 74px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3owtbEZiGic/Sf8NNtbjAvI/AAAAAAAAAE8/jgSkC1nz4hc/s320/change2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331995013014553330" />
One hint of this concept arrived in 2005 via Playing For Change, (it was later posted on YT) which was followed by a subsequent concept on the newly arrived "YouTube" and an artist by the name of Terra Naomi. It was the subsequent arrangements and parts that musicians contributed in on with Terra's "Say It's Impossible" original that I thought really solidified what I was thinking back in WNY that fall 2004. And the rest is history.

My vision at Catfish Friday Music, in late 2004, was that of a "portal" for musicians and producers to source another’s talent via this online community of musicians. This community would consist of musicians with home studios tooled with Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) using Protools, Logic Audio, Cubase, (and then later "Garage Band"), since prices for these platforms were becoming more affordable.

Four and one half years later, and with GarageBand selling at $ 99.00, and most new electronic keyboards equipped with USB interface means, now couldn’t be more fitting a time for this community to arrive.

PLAYING FOR CHANGE

TERRA NAOMI

TERRA NAOMI & margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 190px; height: 115px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_3owtbEZiGic/ScOYQcXTesI/AAAAAAAAAE0/nKh98SoPnOw/s320/cardgame1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315259393486584514" />
It’s appears quite obvious now that
the 20 + employees at the AIG Financial Products division overseeing the remaining books of “credit default swaps”(CDS) (presently estimated value now reduced to a mere 1.6 of the original 2.5 trillion) have been playing the “hand of their life” and sticking to their guns, entitlements, for their now infamous “retention bonuses.” AIG Edward M. Lilly, the CEO that stepped in last year as a public service for a $ 1.00 a year, stated before the senate yesterday that the matrix, therefore “the manufactured knot of financial genius, behind these CDS is so complicated and intertwined that should these “special” few not get their way, their entitled “retainment bonus,” that the banks of the world would melt to their cinder blocks. There can be no question now how good these “salesman” were, given the solemnity Liddy expressed in alluding, deferring, to these “gods of finance.” It may well be the last sales pitch these Wall Street wizards are ever likely to pitch, at least on US soil.

Liddy gingerly stepped around not having to bring this "belief" to the floor as he was certain to be asked the “names” of these holdouts in this specialized AIG division. But Barney Frank wasn’t buying it. Without hesitation, Frank demanded the names of these “masters of the universe” which precipitated Liddy to say in so many words that such disclosure would force the hand further and these “righteous” few would lay their cards down and walk. Liddy stated this “holdout” in the most sober and solemn of assurances, and with great confidence that such vacuum would defeat all the intent behind the stimulus billions now propping up this hobbling financial giant. On several occasions Liddy reassured the house that should these chosen few not get their way in keeping their entitled “retention bonuses,” they’d walk, which now seems inevitable if congress’ newly proposed legislation to tax, claw back, the monies is passed in the next few days. Unfortunately, a good number of these holdouts are on British soil. Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney of New York spoke on CSPAN this morning she was confident both houses would pass the 90 percent tax bill on TARP fund bonus recipients without incident.

This drama on the stage of “Capitalism” could never have been imagined. That said, this “real time” world news epic playing out before all appears to have the potential of reaching ink levels akin to all the published works of our American and French Revolutions combined, if not more. Liddy even went further to shore up “insulation” for the holdouts and not disclosing identities by reading from documented copies of purported “threats” he’s received towards various AIG players. Senator Frank wasn’t buying it though, and suggested that should any of us “be held powerless to exercise our government business, nothing would get done.” Perhaps the term “Financial Terrorism” crept on the mind of many as these events blossomed in Senate hearings Wednesday. And, President Obama’s characterization later Wednesday of AIG being like a “time bomb strapped terrorist” demanding concessions couldn’t be more on point. Frank additionally added that he was willing to solicit the DOJ and FBI to determine the threat level behind the communications, the Liddy threats. It seems imminent the names of these traders, not “traitors,” will surface, and their names burned in the annals of finance, world business and history for centuries to judge them, should they do what they seem to be threatening to do. If their game is that toxic and capable.

New York’s Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo has long been on the trail with disclosing the names of these “FinTers” since investigating these individuals connected to AIG surfaced while taking issue with similar types at Merrill Lynch. Subpoenas have already been served on AIG for these insiders Mr. Liddy mentioned to the senate, despite his consternation to openly admit, if not hesitant and reluctant combined, they’re complying with the disclosures. Several individuals at Merrill walked with comparative numbers in “bonuses” while the Fed was shoring up the Bank of America merger, buy-out, and guarantees were being drafted to close that bail out.

And while so many would like to “claw back”10 years of de-regulations and impose criminal liability in the context of these “doings,” nothing could be more aggravating to many a US and local attorney generals’ whose hands are significantly tied without substantive law on the books.

“We’ll see your 169 million, raise you “every financial institution on the planet” and call you.

As I write this, our congress, and thus their crying constituents - just played their biggest hand in this poker game they’ll ever chance to against these “holdouts” with HR 1586 and the 90 percent tax legislation imposed on TARP bonus recipients. And they call.

Now – were soon to see whether our calling these “holdouts” bluff was smart, albeit haste, or whether those three cards they’ve been holding really were three aces, king high. And if they are, and these CDS book overseers at AIG walk, and the matrix underlying their complicated books beyond the scope even Einstein couldn’t imagine to untwine in reasonable time to save the world’s financial institutions, the heat from the blame game to follow is likely to bring some global warming few could ever have imagined.

JMPendley
March 19, 2009

Yes, indeed..
