Yves Rocher Skin Care

Yves Rocher was a company I hadn't heard of before, so when I was contacted to try a couple of products I was intrigued I popped over to their website and was impressed by the range of products and I love trying new things as a beauty blogger you're always on the hunt for the next perfect thing.

Firstly I tried Culture Bio Wake Up Cream this is cream which you use before you apply your make up, it certainly does wake you up its a strong peppermint smell which feels invigorating and refreshing on the skin leaving a slight tingle, it gives a lovely base for make up and isn't oily so is great for people like me who have combination or oily skin. The smell may be a little off puttig for some as it is quite overpowering.

The next product I tried was more of an anti-ageing product Rich Creme Intense Regenerating Care I am fast approaching my late twenties I seriously don't know where the time has gone I will be 26 in July, so have started to look at anti- ageing products and creams this comes in a very luxurious looking gold pot which looks expensive( although it's a little hard to photograph) this is a night cream which you use by rubbing it together in your hands before to make it warm, it apples like a dream and leaves skin feeling silky smooth. I don't have any wrinkles at the minute so anything I do use is just trying to slow the process down, so I can't tell you if it works miracles or not but it certainly does make skin feel lovely, it is more rich so is more oily asare most night creams.

My First Glossy Box April 2012: My Thoughts

When I was contacted to try Glossy Box I jumped at the chance, beauty boxes were something I'd always admired from afar but never actually tried, so couldn't wait for my box to arrive although it did take a while to receive as I kept missing it and went away so only got to pick it up at the weekend. The traditional boxes are normally a gorgeous pale pink colour but this month it is more of a natural earthy toned colour as you can see below., as this month is a Natural beauty box.

The box is actually smaller than I thought it would be from all the pictures and things I'd seen I'd always imagined them to be an A4 size where as they are more A5, they are such pretty little boxes I plan to use mine for storage afterwards, so they are great to recycle too.

I was really impressed with the presentation I'd always imagined they may turn up battered and dented boxes but they are immaculate and the contents in the box are nicely presented.

My favourite from this months box.

As you know I am a lover of lip balms so it's no surprise that this is the favourite item from the box it smells so refreshing and leaves lips feeling so soft and a little tingly, the cute packaging is lovely too.

To be honest I'm not sure if any of these products I would buy full size or again, but it's always nice to try new things and see what other products are out there that you wouldn't normally look at or see.

As you all know I love nail polish it's one of my weaknesses and after my first No7 nail polish purchase Minty Fresh I couldn't wait to try more and took the advice from you lovely lot and choose Cheeky Chops with my £5 off No7 voucher, I love it, it's such a gorgeous coral colour.

What do you think? I can't wait for the vouchers again so I can buy more colours.

Shake It Like A Polaroid Picture

Whenever I look at this dress I just think of Outkast 'Hey Ya' and the lyric 'Shake it like a Polaroid picture' it's an amazing ruffle dress which is screaming for you to shake in it. I haven't actually worn this out and have actually been considering putting it on eBay, I bought it from the H&M website in the January sales as I just loved the look of it, but didn't actually think of when I would wear it, I think I only paid £6 for it though with a couple of discount codes. I love looking at it in my wardrobe.

My Hair Saviour: Loreal Mythic Oil Review

I've had a few comments on how my hair was shiny on a few of my posts and this is the reason why, Loreal Mythic Oil is truly amazing and is my favourite hair product it rescues my hair from frizz and fly aways, here are my thoughts.

What they say

Enriched with a special blend of avocado and grape seed oil, this lightweight oil cares and pampers all hair types. Nourishing even the finest hair, the formula leaves hair looking shiny, feeling nourished and supple.

What I think

Packaging: This comes in a large clear bottle so you can see how much you have left, it has a pump dispenser and you only need one or two pumps to do all your hair. .

Smell: This smell gorgeous, I love applying it to my hair and enjoying the smell afterwards

Application & Results:

I use one or two pumps of this everyday, I have had this since August and still have so much left, so for the money it's such good value. I use this to either tame my frizzy fly away hairs or after I have blow dried and straightened it, it makes my hair super soft, shiny and silky to the touch with only a tiny amount of product, you can see the results on my hair below.

Summary

This is such an amazing product one which I will repurchase again and again, it leaves hair feeling so soft and silky and lasts so long as you only need the tiniest amount.

Ideal for: All hair types and those with frizzy fly away hair.

Wedding Outfit # 2

Another dress for you, after my LOVE Dress I saw this one and loved it I think I actually prefer it to the LOVE dress, and after I saw Glamour had 25% off Warehouse I thought it was fate that I buy it. So full price its £52 but with 25% of it's £39. The 25% off is in this months Glamour magazine all you have to do is show them the page and it lasts till the end of this month.

It has a mesh detail and the top and even comes with this bronze belt, It's longer than the LOVE Dress and I like how the dipped hem falls.

It's that time of the month again where I tell you what my favourites of the last month have been, I seriously can't believe it's May already it's our two year wedding anniversary soon, I can't believe how quick it's gone. Any who these were the things I was loving and regularly reaching for in the month of April.

♥ Real Techniques Blush Brush ♥

I bought the blush brush, stippling brush and the tweezers as part of the 3 for 2 offer that was on in Boots with my Advantage card points, and since then I haven't looked back with these brushes they do really deserve all the hype they get, I love this blush brush it gives me the perfect amount of blush to the apples of my cheeks, it is so soft and it blends great.

♥ Real Techniques Buffing Brush ♥

I bought the core collection just to get this brush, such was the hype surrounding it, it had to be mine, I do wish they sold it separately, but I did find another great brush in this set. This is the perfect brush for buffing in liquid foundation, it delivers such great results.

♥ Real Techniques Stippling Brush ♥

I love this brush I use it to apply cream blushes, it's perfect at picking up the right amount of blush and looks so much better than just applied with your fingers, this brush is a must for me if you like your cream blushes.

♥ Real Techniques Contour Brush ♥

This brush is part of the Core Collection which the Buffing Brush came in I use it to apply bronzer as a contour or my powder highlighter, it's the perfect size brush to do this.

♥ Tweezerman Mini Slant Tweezers ♥

I've always wanted some proper tweezers and when the 3 for2 offer was on it was the perfect opportunity to buy some, they are so good and can pull out the smallest of hairs, these are a definite must have.

♥ Topshop Head Over Heels ♥
I have recently dug this out again as it was left a little neglected, as I find cream blushes hard to apply but now I have my Real Techniques Stippling Brush it makes it a breeze, so I really want to try more Topshop cream blushes so ant pink recommendations would be great.

♥ Orly It's Not Me It's You Nail Polish ♥
I LOVE this polish it's such an amazing pink, when it started to chip and took it off and applied it again and this is a rarity for me as I never wear the same colour twice in a row, you can see it in a recent outfit post here

♥ Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24HR In And On Bronze ♥

I love this its so easy to quickly sweep over your eyelid and they really do last forever, this colour is gorgeous, I would be interested in trying more of these.

The name of this post comes from my new gorgeous Orly nail polish its such a gorgeous pink, I love it, it's Barbie-esque and the name is fun too, I think it may just be my new favourite pink polish and I think it looks great with my hot pink blazer and turquoise blouse, I think the colours look amazing together.

MAC Stunned Blush Vs W7 Candy Floss Dupe?

I've not posted for a while as I went on a hen weekend in Nottingham from Friday to Sunday so yesterday was spent recovering, we went to It's a Knockout and our team won the whole event! it was so cold though on the Saturday we were all frozen, we had a great time though any who onto my possible dupe of MAC Stunned blush, I've had these two blushes a while now but when I was swatching them I realised how similar they looked so decided to swatch them next to each other and was surprised at how close a match they were. H&M Nail Polish In Blue My Mind

H&M is one of my favourite shops on the high street and when I saw they were offering a £5 gift card with any purchase I had to go in and buy something, I had seen H&M Nail polishes on a few blogs before and was planning on buying one soon anyway so thought it was the perfect opportunity. I love the packaging, and the colours drew me in especially this one it's such a gorgeous blue, so here is Blue My Mind (great name too).

Look Of The Day: Mint Jeans

Another pastel outfit, what can I say I love them. I bought these gorgeous mint jeans from H&M and I am also show casing a necklace which I made myself. In other news our new bathroom will be finished this week I can't wait we have moved it to a much bigger room the old bathroom was so small and didn't have a window and now in our new bathroom we have a big window, a separate bath and shower which is like a waterfall, so I can't wait to enjoy baths and I'm planning a trip to Lush soon, so if you have any bath recommendations for me that would be fab, anyway onto these gorgeous mint jeans.

MUA Lip Booms By Alexandra Burke Review

I'm sure you've seen and heard about the newest upcoming release from MUA they have designed Lip Boom in collaboration with Alexandra Burke, on one end you have a lipstick and the other a highlighting gloss to create fuller more curvaceous lips, you can use these alone or together. They come in eight shades chosen by Alex herself , OK.com, Vibe, O.M.G, Cheeky!, Doin' Good, Bring It, It's A Situation and LMK (Let Me Know).

What I think

Packaging:Plastic tubing with one end that holds a lipstick which is the regular twist up style and the other end a lip gloss with a doe applicator.

Smell: The lip glosses are so sweet smelling, which may be a little overpowering for some who don't like sweet smelling lip product as these are quite over powering but I'm all for sweet smelling lips.

Application & Results: The results below show the lipstick alone and then with the gloss on top, the lipsticks are quite drying and cling to every bit of dry skin as you can see from my below pictures, these would be best worn on good lip days or after a good scrub with a lip scrub.I wouldn't be able to wear the lipsticks alone as I prefer a little more moisture but they deliver good pigmentation. The glosses are very glittery and they have relatively large glitter chunks in them you can see this below in the swatch pictures, and they can sometimes feel a little gritty on the lips.

The first colour that drew me in was Cheeky been a lover of pink this was perfect, it is such a barbie pink.

I'm so impressed with MUA for a budget beauty brand they deliver such great products for bargain prices and are alwys coming up with fun new ideas such as these and the Love Heart Collection.

Summary

Overall I think these offer highly pigmented lipsticks and a lovely sweet smelling gloss, the gloss isn't for me but the lipsticks are fab with a little lip balm and they are such a bargain price.

Ideal for:Those with good lips and those looking to experiment with different colour lipsticks and glosses on a budget.

Price: £3

Repurchase: I would love to try more colours when they are released, they are so purse friendly.

I have raved of my love of 17 First Kiss Blush many a times and thought it was about time I tried some more 17 blushes as they are such good value for money at only £3.49 each and are regularly on 3 for 2 offers, I picked up a few the first been China Pink, as you all know I just can't resist a good pink blush.

Card Suit Nails

These are a quick and easy way to update your nails and you only need a few colours to create them.

I used Barry M White for the background, Barry M Bright Red and a black nail art pen.

On another note I would love it if you could help me decide what to spend my Boots Advantage Card points on I just can't decide and it's driving me mad. I have been in Boots I don't know how many times trying to decide and walk out empty handed. I really wish you could put your Advantage Card points towrads a purchase rather than having t spend under.

So I have £24.28 worth in points and two options, firstly the Real Techniques Core Collection which is £21.99 I really want to try the buffing brush that everyone has been raving about, or my second option is using the current 3 for 2 offer and getting some mini Tweezerman Tweezers, Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation and maybe a new mascara or the Real Techniques Stippling Brush or any other recommendations you have for me around the £12 mark included in the 3 for 2 offer?

It's time for another Girl Behind The Blog post, today my girl is Gemma and the blog is gemsies.

What would be your five desert islands must haves?

Ahh I left this question til last as this is so hard! It would be Batiste Cherry, my Denman hairbrush as I don't want to come back with a beehive on my head, my Blackberry, Soap n Glory 3 in 1 cleanser and sunscreen as I am extremely pale and would burn within 2 minute of being there haha!

If you could only use five nail polishes for the rest of your life what would they be?

Ohhh it has to be these - OPI in Lady In Black, OPI in Coney Island Cotten Candy, Barry M in Berry, Barry M in Bright Purple and Collection 2000 Lasting Colour in Geranium!

If you had to choose one shop that you could shop in for the rest of your life what would it be?

This is probably the toughest question yet haha! Erm it would probably be H&M as it has it's really good quality basics which you can dress up by their amazing accessories and they also have some lovely tops and dresses that are really dressy and you could wear to special occasions at reasonable prices. Gosh this is now making me crave shopping.

What’s the one make up item you couldn't live without?

It would probably be my Rimmel Foundation which I use at the moment as I can never go out without wearing it. It's so lightweight and covers up really well, I think it's the perfect foundation for me at such a small cost 7 quid!

In terms of make up what’s more important eyes or lips?

Eyes. No question about it haha! I get a lot of compliments about my eye colour so that obviously stands out the most on my face, plus I never really do anything to my lips I'm not a lover of lipstick so a quick lip balm and then I'm sorted!

If you had to choose one what would it be handbags or shoes?

Hmmm, I think I'm going with shoes as I always really wear the same bag out. With shoes, I also wear a lot of the same but that's mainly because I'm going to school, when I go to work sometimes I wear boots etc...

You can only use three make up products for the rest of your life. Which ones will they be?

Collection 2000 Pump It Mascara as it can do anything from a simple separated look to a dramatic lashes look, Mac Liquid Eye Liner as I can never go without eyeliner on the top of my lids and this product is my favourite and my Rimmel Foundation as i find it's the perfect foundation for me.

What’s your best beauty tip?

Clean your make up brushes at least once a week! Not only will it be better for your skin but it will also apply your make up so much better! You can clean it with a number of things, shampoo, olive oil or white vinegar so there's no need to splash out on 'special make up brush cleanser'!

What's your best fashion tip?

Hmm, it would probably be 'DIY before you buy' (quite happy with that rhyme haha). Basically I'm saying half the tops you see around for about £40 you could actually make yourself for a tenner. Grab a basic t-shirt from Primark or somewhere, buy the decor from eBay and you've saved a lot of money. This also allows you to make the t-shirt your own and suit you personally.

It would actually be the one I just done, the outfit I put together was in my head at first and when I tried it on I loved it, especially seeing as I never wore jeans/trousers! I also got my highest amount of views for that post so I was extremely happy, you can read it here
