At one point, artists really needed to rely on getting a recording contract or having a top management firm such as Violator Management to work their contacts and make a deal happen for the artist. This is a first hand account of how to build your own career in order to get a deal offered to you similar to Drake’s .5 Million deal from Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Records.

If you do NOT have a home studio to produce and at least reference tracks, I would start by doing this first. This will stop you from being at the mercy of any producers when you want to jump in a studio because you are creative. Creativity can hit at any moment to an artist. To be dependent upon a producer to get into their studio will hinder you and stop the creativity because you can’t just jump in and create music at will.

I recommend working and saving every dime of your money and buying an iMac computer that I am on right now first and foremost. The iMac comes with a software package called Garageband that will allow you to create music at least on your own. You MUST learn the software and the software instruments in order to become proficient with your tools. Making music is really about being technically proficient. It is a requirement to know how to use the computer, how to use the iMac, and how to really use Garageband effectively to create your own sounds.

Knowing how to use Garageband will allow you to reference your own tracks and not have to wait until you get enough money to pay the producer for studio time. The other alternative is to have great relationships with studio bosses and producers and sound engineers who can get you into the studio for free and reference tracks. Once you’re able to do this and create songs, start creating and getting your best tracks and songs together. Do NOT shop them to a record label! You will become very disgruntled and very discouraged and will go on a 10 year trek to find a recording company to get signed. This will NEVER happen in your lifetime.

Compile your best songs and attempt to put together your own album. Try to be different and make unique music. Once this is done, it is critical to move on to the next phase of the DIY Music Guide and that is to build an audience and build a fan base. This is NOT done the way artists thought it to be done on Myspace. Do NOT go putting your music on other people’s myspace as a comment. Do NOT go sending your music to DJ’s on Twitter via zshare links. Do NOT get an email of all the DJ’s that your boy has and send them emails promoting you as the next Drake and new coming of Hip Hop. This does NOT work and only makes everyone pissed off.

What do you do then if that seemed like the sure fire way to get noticed and the cheap way and every one tells you to utilize social media and facebook to promote yourself? You must find someone around you that has some money or work yourself to do this next part. You must find a sponsor who will help you pay for advertisements on Facebook and Myspace. If you’re utilizing Facebook primarily, you can create a Fan Page on there and upload your tracks to Facebook. You can also easily put your music up on iTunes via a digital distributor such as The Orchard.

The Orchard will create an account for you and allow you to upload your tracks. As a distributor, they will then get your tracks on all major online music retailers including iTunes, Walmart, Napster, etc. Your tracks will be in the online retailers. But being in the retailers and being found in iTunes is still like being on an island. No one knows you’re actually stranded on the island. You must promote yourself. Experiencing sell through of your music is the toughest part of the music industry. Having people buy your music is NOT easy even if you’re music is great. In order to get 1,000 people to click on your music you must have at least 1,000,000 people see your advertisement. This is NOT a joke and no exaggeration. The only way to truly move any type of record and get people’s interest is to literally pay in advertising or pay the DJ to spin your record.

Music is a very crowded market as seen and evidenced by the proliferation of artists on Myspace. Myspace pretty much went to crap from all the artists on their promoting their music via comments and posting bulletins. The truth of the matter is that to really get a deal like Drake you must be able to show a record company that you have sales in some form or another. You either have sales from shows or you have sales from a reputable digital distributor such as The Orchard. You will get a recording contract if you walk into a label and show them the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet report showing that you have had 2,000 ringtone downloads from iTunes in the last 3 months, and 5,000 album sales from online retailers in the last 3 months. If you cannot prove this, you will NOT be entertaining a recording contract or top flight management from Chris Lighty and Violator Management.

You must have provable sales numbers that you can show to people when you go to a pitch meeting. Do NOT focus on a recording contract. Focus on marketing and selling your music. Focus on raising money to run your advertisements on these social networks such as Myspace, Facebook, and others. And again, you must REACH millions of people and get thousands of clicks on your website or song. This is the business side of music. Music is NOT about entertaining people because you have a passion for the craft. Music is about reaching the masses and proving to labels that you can reach this audience. You are forced to generate big numbers that start by reaching smaller numbers and building up a musical tsunami for yourself.

With music becoming the food for life, there are many bands that had created a name for themselves in the music Industry and there are others who are still struggling to make their names. In the recent years the young generation are very much attracted to pop music because of its hip hop lyrics and also the use of new technical instruments which imparts a different tone altogether. Moreover the lyrics are mostly based on love and friendship. There are many Popular Music Artists in the industry who have achieved the name and the fame and this proved to be an inspiration for the upcoming bands that are eager to create a niche for themselves in the industry.

Since college is the place where one tries to hone the skills so in that way there are many bands that are formed with the help of the friends. My Hero is one such group with many talented artists within the group. The members are very much passionate about music and they always try to make something new so that they can gift it to their fans. Their liking for music developed in their High School when they participated in different talent hunt competitions and they secured second position in few of them. In this way the band which had two or three members in the initial years started participated in different competitions in colleges and especially girl’s college so that they can draw a major portion of the youth crowd. Gradually they became a known face among the college circle and in this way they later moved to public events where they had put up their performance. In the beginning they performed at pubs and restaurants. People liked their performance and praised them and in this way they made their foray into the world of entertainment like the radio which made them a much more common name among the masses.

With the spreading of the internet, it has become very easy to download music whenever and where ever you want to and in this way pop music online USA has become popular in today’s world. My Hero group also has upload their songs in the website and so if you wish to then you can obviously listen to their songs. Their songs are very much unique and they always make it a point to present something new to their audience. The artists are all very much talented and passionate about music. They have won at the Wango Tango concert with Lady Gaga and it was one of the most amazing feelings that they had t the prestigious concert. They have a dream of making their band the most popular band and they will obviously succeed creating a niche for themselves in the music artist band USA. After their initial phase of struggling years all the artists of My HERO Music group have united together to make every show a new one and make the people understand what they are trying to achieve in their genre of music.

And we are individually having learning centers with our near places. Though many people have no time to go for classes and spending their precious time in classes.

They seems to be very professional or easy but amazing technology, we can get it through the internet depending upon our needs. It is available in various categories for type of people requirement, some one needs the software to be highly professional, some people needs it to be very easy. Most of the instruments are available in those software, so we no need to purchse the instruments. And we dont have to go for music classes for learning music, we can learn how to compose the music from their manuals. We donot have to gain music knowledge to work in those software, we simply start learning the music from their software, then we switch over to the professional music learning if we are interested. ClassicalMusicCity.com is a new and innovative web site devoted to the classical music industry. It is the most comprehensive, free source of classical music information on the web that includes information resources in the form of video, articles, news, reviews and listings. It has everything from video of masterclasses, an archive of famous classical music cartoons, classical music composer’s biographies, sheet music, youth orchestra audition notices, recordings and concert announcements. All content goes through administrative approval, so it is a safe and fun place for children to roam and discover the wonders of classical music. Lots of informative content for parents too.

With over 10,000 pages and growing, you can easily find what you need. Search by keyword, topic, type of content or even by regions from as large as “worldwide” to as small as a state. It offers the traditional navigation via tabs at the top of the page which includes audio, auditions, jobs, events, articles, video, blogs and more. The annual CMA Music Festival provides the hottest four days of music action in the scorching summer months in downtown Nashville, Tenn., and this year’s forthcoming extravaganza is already cranking up the heat. The 2010 CMA Music Festival, slated to take place June 10-14, 2010, has officially announced its opening act to debut this year’s blowout event, and the Judds will provide the opening night’s entertainment, kicking off the festivities at this year’s ultimate country music hoedown.

Mother and daughter Naomi and Wynonna Judd are steeped in the tradition of the country music industry, and the duo known as the Judds will take center stage at downtown Nashville’s Riverfront Park June 10 at 10 a.m., commencing the festivities at the 2010 CMA Music Fest. The Judds are one of the most anticipated acts at this year’s big expo, especially as the mother-daughter duo is preparing the country for their upcoming reunion tour and subsequent album. Wynonna has been flying solo over the last several years, but this year’s Nashville gala will bring (as Hank Jr. calls it) the “Family Tradition” back onto the big stage at Riverfront Park.

In a statement released by The Boot in mid-April, the Judds said, “We are totally psyched to get to kick off CMA Music Fest this year on the Riverfront Park Stage. We can’t wait to be live with fans and music lovers from across the country. It’s such a privilege to partner with CMA to spread the word about our final tour. Plan your life around it. The Judds are coming back.”

The Judds are back in town, and they won’t be the only country music outfit drawing thousands of fans to the big stage in Nashville this summer for the CMA Music Fest. Several headliners for this year’s main event have already been announced, and country’s most prolific superstars set to take the stage at LP Field, the second Nashville venue to hold the music fest’s biggest performances, include Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Easton Corbin, Randy Houser, Alan Jackson, Billy Currington, Danny Gokey, Trace Adkins, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Justin Moore, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Josh Turner, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band.

With this many big names all performing on the same stage over a four-day span, CMA Music Festival tickets are some of the hottest tickets on the music front this spring. Tickets are sure to sell out far in advance, but country music fans can always get them at StubHub.

Patrons who attend this year’s June 10-14 festival will gain entrance to four hard-hitting days of country music bliss, but they’ll also be helping the Nashville charity Keep the Music Playing, which channels funds for music programs in Nashville area schools for disadvantaged youth to obtain cheap lessons and instruments. The summertime Nashville festival donates half of its net profits to the organization on the artists’ behalf. This year’s annual CMA Music Festival promises to be even better than ever, and with the recent announcement of the Judds leading the way for the 2010 edition of the biggest collective performance in the world capital of country music, the 2010 music festival is a must-see event for contemporary and traditional country fans all over the nation!
