Cattle Dog Website Update

Cattle Dog Pty Ltd's http://www.cattle-dog.com.au website received a major update today, the 23rd March 2006. The updated website includes more detailed information about Cattle Dog's services, particularly software license management and software deployment.

The new website also gives the first official announcement that the long awaited iCOLLECT product is now available to IT service providers wanting to offer an IT/SAM solution to their own clients. This is an excellent opportunity for service providers to add real added value to their service offerings, while also acquiring a new revenue stream with monthly cashflow. Currently the website is still light on details, but Cattle Dog can be contacted for more details by interested IT journalists and IT service providers.

BMW Group Nordic chooses the new version 2.13 of Snow Inventory to manage computers and software.

TNT Freight Management implements complete software lifecycle management from Snow Software. The system manages the entire lifecycle and includes functionality such as license management, software deployment and inventory.

FYI we're updating our website over the Christmas break. Already the News section has been added, and we've given each page a Search box for those of you that love controlling your own destiny.

The About Us page has been updated to show you a bit more of who we are, and we will be further expanding upon our solutions, so that CFOs can get a better idea about what we do.

Snow Inventory 2.13 Released

We are happy to announce the release of Snow Inventory 2.13. The new Snow Inventory client is now available for download from Snow's download page.

This new version has been integrated tighter with Snow Metering, allowing Snow Inventory to transport all data from Snow Metering to the server via HTTP with the same data transport functionality as you already have today with Snow Inventory. The result is a significant increase in performance and the ability and control the use of software on mobile computers or others machines that rarely logs on to the network.

The Snow Metering client is now also included in this setup file, so you can choose to install Snow Inventory on its own, or Snow Inventory and Snow Metering from the same setup. The serial number you enter will control which functions are available. To install Snow Inventory you will need a single serial number. In order to install Snow Inventory and Snow Metering, you will need a new combined serial number for both systems. It is not possible to install a stand alone version of Snow Metering from the 2.13 setup, so the Snow Metering Standalone Edition (SE) 2.12 client will continue to be used.

Swedish Customs (Tullverket) invests in Snow SAM

Our major software supplier, Snow Software has their Snow Software Asset Management (SAM) solution taken up by Swedish Customs. A key issue was the way that Snow's SAM solution gives them capabilities beyond those in Microsoft SMS 2003.

Tullverket (Swedish Customs) has invested in Snow technology in order to gain control over software costs and to minimize the risk of legal incompliance.

“We want to see how we are actually using our installed software. We know that we can lower our costs for licenses." says Anders Edlund, System Administrator at Tullverket. Tullverket wanted an easy and effective tool to complement their existing Microsoft SMS 2003 system. “The ability to find computers and software even if they are outside the active directory was one of the important demands we had when looking for a software asset management solution." says Anders Edlund. He continues “We wanted to be certain to have 100% coverage in all reports."

The system will be implemented in December 2005.
