"Kelev (the Hebrew word for dog), is a 1 1/2 year-old tri-color Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Six months ago he had surgery for Chiari I malformation (CLM) and syringomyelia (SM) at the Long Island Veterinary Specialists. The surgery consisted of a Foramen Magnum Decompression (FMD) with a cranioplasty and a titanium mesh plate. He has a follow-up MRI in a few weeks to see if the surgery was successful. He seems a lot better and was able to participate in the parade last month in Alexandria. Kelev is doing well at home, after 3 months of bed rest, and enjoys rough housing and taking walks with his two Golden/Lab girls, age 1 and 6. Kelev has been my best medicine for fighting metastatic breast cancer that I have had for 6 years."

"Another intro to our beautiful Maizey girl. She is 1.5 years old. My name is Katie and I also share my house with my big girl-a rescued Rottie. This picture of Maizey has special significance as she has had both patellas surgically fixed in the last 8 months of her life. So to see her jumping up mountains as if she was never hurt at all warms my heart. Of course at this point we are still very protective of those knees, but we are starting to let her have more freedom. It is a beautiful sight!
