It seems as though the piper was sufficiently paid during the last visit to the yard, or the fact I didn’t let anyone from the yard onto the boat (to find more projects), but she should be back in the water tomorrow morning ready for a lovely romp back home.  A special thanks to the boys for coming out and helping finish the job, so many able hands truly made quick work of her bottom!

Crossing the bay in route to Point RichmondCasting off the lines on a damp, foggy morning with the knowledge that your house is about to be lifted from its water home up onto the hard cement of a boatyard can bring about some fairly ominous thoughts.  Even with a simple plan and fair amount of due diligence a trip to the boatyard is never a simple cut and dry matter.  Reminiscing over the previous planned 2 week haul-out that lasted a month and half and was full of new obstacles and adventures does not add to the enjoyment of the glorious trans bay trek.  But alas it is just this type of adventure into the unknown that makes the life of a sailor so appealing.  So it off to the yard Cavalo goes, with enthusiasm in our heart and thrift on our mind.
