Based on this iconic cartoon above, featured in The New Yorker in 1990, "Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's" is a documentary about the history, inner workings & untold stories of the iconic department store that is Bergdorf Goodman. And holy shit am I excited to see it.

Tuna Fish Find: Xhilaration® Lavada Slide Sandals

I've been on the hunt for the perfect summer sandal, but for some reason I have been having major commitment issues. Every sandal I've found has been a bit on the pricier side. And as much as I loved many pairs, I could not get myself to pull the trigger and spend the money. This past weekend I took a little trip to Target with my cousin & found these Xhilaration® Lavada Slide Sandals.

I now have a little extra money to put towards summer clothes. Woohoo!

Last night, the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum held their annual Met Gala. Which I like to call the Super Bowl of fashion. While this year's theme was Punk Chaos to Couture, not everyone came punked out. Some came punk, some avant guard, some goth, some completely feminine and some just came... It's been a while since my last Beauty Banter. My sincerest apologies.
I just got my hands on three new products that I am absolutely obsessed with. Clearly, I have to share each of them with you. They all make me extremely happy!

1. Givenchy Noir Couture 4 in 1 Mascara - Say hello to my newest lash obsession! I kid you not, this tube is filled with eyelash magic! Not only does it give you volume, length & gorgeous curl, but this mascara is filled with Givenchy Lash Booster Expert Complex. GLBEC provides your lashes with nutrition, revitalization, fortification and protection. And I must touch on the wand. It's amazing! The wand is brilliantly structured for control and even distribution. It's beyond easy to apply & gives you everything you could possibly want in a single mascara. Givenchy Noir Couture 4 in 1 Mascara is hands down the best mascara to ever touch my lashes! To say I highly recommend it is an understatement.

2. Stila Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner - For the past few years I've been a devout gel liner enthusiast. I've been going back and forth between M·A·C Fluidline & Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Liner for a while. But after trying Stila Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, I think it's safe to say that I have been converted to liquid. Don't get me wrong - gel liners are fantastic, but there is just something about Stila Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner that I can't get enough of. Maybe it's the maker-like tip or the quick-dry no smudge formula. ;)

3. Studio 35 Dual-Tip Cosmetic Applicators - Okay, so I've been trying to master the winged eyeliner look for ages & just could not seem to get it down. My hands are known to be a little on the shaky side, so getting that perfect line is a challenge for me. Until I met these Studio 35 Dual-Tip Cosmetic Applicators. The fine end is perfect for helping define & shape the wing perfectly without having to remove it entirely every time you mess it up. Before using these, I would remove the entire line up to 9 times when applying my make-up. These changed my life!

There is a major resurgence of denim jackets for spring & summer. And frankly, I couldn't be more excited about it! My denim jacket may be one of the only pieces in my closet that I refuse to ever get rid of. You always know that at some point in time it will come back. I've had my Earl Jeans denim jacket (see embarrassing elevator selfie below) for the past 8 years. I found this puppy in a thrift store one summer in Asheville, NC. Honestly one of the best thrift store finds ever! The denim jacket is the perfect wardrobe staple for layering during the spring & summer months.

Happy Monday Muffins! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine was pretty low key. I spent a good majority of the weekend cleaning out my closet & getting organized. A little spring cleaning if you will. I've been avoiding cleaning out my closet like the plague. But there comes point when your closet & drawers look like they threw up everywhere & it's just completely unavoidable. As much as I dread doing it, I will admit - it felt pretty damn good! Anyways, let's talk "Flamingos & Palm Trees." How adorable are flamingo & palm tree themed accessories for spring/summer? I could just eat them up, they're so cute! Now that I've made some room, I may need to invest in a little flamingo & palm tree cuteness. Especially those Dannijo earrings!

This morning I saw a woman on the subway with this partially-shaved head hairstyle and it made me think... First and foremost, I must point out that the girl looked hot. Seriously! She was able to rock this hairstyle & still look like a classy bitch. I honestly feel that it truly takes someone truly special, with big cahunas, to pull a look like this off. Not going to lie... The wild child in me is kind of digging it. But unfortunately for me, my [once was there] cahunas have been circumcised quite some time ago. Okay, now back to my thinking. What happens when you decide to grow it out? What does one do when that portion of your hair grows to amish length? See photo of incredibly straight shooting amish man here. Have any of you done this to your hair and let it grow out? I am dying to know the answer to this. Enlighten me, please!

Jenna Lyons is my favorite style icons. She is the whole package - brains, humor, creativity, talent, style, beauty & impecable taste. It's really comforting to know that Jenna Lyons is like everyone else. She is not perfect. She struggles to fit in as much as the next person. But she is strong, extremely creative, and has a true sense of herself. I really admire her as a female entrepreneur. She has done incredible things for the J.Crew brand. And her no bullshit, grabs life by the balls mindset is contagious. She sticks to what she likes & believes in, and looks fabulous while doing it.

What I love most about Jenna, besides her impecable taste & brilliant mind, is the fact that she's real. Real in all sense of the word. And this Fast Company article is evident of that. Jenna Lyons is the real deal!

Oh & I may or may not have gone back for seconds this morning. Oops!

So all in all I snagged $2,985 worth of Marc Jacobs Collection for $491. Not too shabby!

I am so beyond tickled pink over this. I feel like I won the Marc Jacobs lottery.

Currently Coveting: Zara Neon Box Clutch

How fab are these Zara neon box clutches for spring? And the $35.90 price tag ain't to shabby either. Zara seriously never seizes to amaze me. I look forward to seeing what they come up with season after season. I actually own this exact box clutch in clear with a black & white striped inside. I wear it to death & have received tons of compliments while doing so! So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered it in neon hues. And the pink one has my name written all over it. I would totally rock it with a Canadian tuxedo & some leopard to mix it up. I swear, the Canadian tuxedo has become my go to outfit as of late. It's such a fun look & you can really jazz it up with bold accessories [see below]. I can't wait to do a Zara run when I get back to NYC from my work trip.

I am totally crushing on these Rebecca Minkoff pastel bags for spring. Aren't they precious? And let's talk about the studs... Love them! Gives that extra bit of roughness to counteract with the soft femininity of the pastels. The Blake & Skylar are clearly my faves. Once again, RM has hit the nail on the head. I swear, she just keeps getting better & better each season.
