It also consisted of technical talk and interactive session by Mr Satish Babu. He talked about the evolution of various operating systems, the benefits of FOSS and about the various upcoming operating systems and mobile platforms. He highlighted the importance of Linux and its various advantages. Many students were inspired & motivated by the session as they understood the importance of FOSS. The event ended at 11:50 am and a set of CDs consisting of free software’s was also distributed as a part of the inauguration of the SIG-FOSS. 129 students attended the whole event.

A series of events will mark the 15 year celebrations. They include technical sessions,management sessions, experience-sharing sessions provided by previous vibrant volunteers of the SB, and a grand ending to the celebrations in the month of December.

Happy to inform you that Mr Jithin J Kumar [CEC 2012 EC] , Mr Manu S Ajith [CEC 2012 CS], Mr Arjun Nair and Mr Harisankar P S [CEC 2012 CS] have been shortlisted to present their Business Plan at IIT Bombay, as a part of E-Cell, IIT Bombay iniative called Eureka.

Their entry was selected out of a total of 3,263 among which 420 were from abroad, being the only team from Kerala who got selected.
