Featured 3 Idiots Movie Review

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Fri, 01 Jan 2010 23:06:00 +0000

NEW DELHI: `3 Idiots' may be creating box-office history. But all's certainly not well between Chetan Bhagat, the author of the book from which

the movie has been adapted, and its hero Aamir Khan, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Rajkumar Hirani.

An `idiotic' controversy has broken out over accusations of credit poaching. The film credits the story to Abhijat Joshi and Hirani. Bhagat's name appears at the film's end.

Bhagat is miffed that the film does not give him due credit. Khan claims that Bhagat is trying to take away the credit from the film's scriptwriter, Joshi. Agencies have quoted the actor as saying that he has advised Chopra and Hirani to file a case against Bhagat as he has defamed them with "false" allegations.

Reacting to this, Bhagat told a news agency, "For the past two years I have trusted Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Aamir blindly and this is what I get in return. Now I am being threatened with legal action but I am ready for it."

Chopra too jumped into the fray on Friday. When the controversy was brought up by journalists at a press meet in Noida, he thundered, ``Have you read the book? I have read the book, so shut up!'' He also charged that Bhagat was trying to gain publicity for his book. Bhagat retorted that he doesn't need this kind of fame and he can't help it if millions of people who have read the book have spotted the issue.

The row first erupted on Thursday, when Bhagat blogged, "Pre-release, the makers made press statements like the movie is only `very loosely', `2%-5% inspired by the book'. After release, those who have read the book and seen the movie (and frankly, I think those are the only people who have the right to comment) find the film to be an adaptation of Five Point Someone.''

"The setting, characters, plotline, dramatic twists and turns, one-liners, theme, message - almost all aspects that make up the story are from FPS. Yes, there are some changes, any adaptation requires that - but it is no way an original story. Leading movie critics have privately admitted to me that the film is 70% the book. Still, don't take my word for it - go read the book, watch the film."

Aamir's view is totally different. At a press conference on Thursday, he said "it is unfortunate that Chetan is behaving in this manner". Aamir said Joshi and Hirani have "abided by the contract" entered into with Bhagat and the author has been given due credit as per the contract.

"For nearly three years, Joshi has been working on the script. It is unfortunate that Chetan is trying to take away the credit from someone not as famous as he is," Aamir said.

He also mentioned how Chetan had dropped in on the sets of `3 Idiots' one day, when Aamir had the chance to interact with him. "During the course of the conversation I told him that I was yet to read `Five Point Someone', which I intended doing sometime soon. Chetan then told me that Abhijat's script is different and that I might not necessarily read the book. Let's not talk about this topic anymore and move on to other interesting things," he said.

However, in his blog, Chetan also says that "crores was poured into publicity on shutting me out and cementing the fact that `3 Idiots' is not based on `Five Point Someone'. However, the book had been read by millions of people and the FPS buzz just did not die down."

He adds, "My family sat in the theatre shocked, as sequence after sequence came from the book. 2%-5% means 3-6 minutes, and I had told my family to look for the few FPS moments and note them. However, there were so many that it became impossible to keep track. The plot line was the same - people meet at ragging, the first class with definition of machine, the friends separate, Alok (Raju) moves with Venkat (Chatur), Ryan (Rancho) helps Alok's father, Alok rejoins group etc etc. From Alok (Raju) jumping to stealing the papers and calling out from Cherian (Virus's) office - the book came alive on screen. I was surprised and happy that FPS has made it in such a grand way.

However, my family had not spotted my credit in the beginning (there was none) and they were feeling let down....The story credit was not shared with me."

Bhagat adds in his blog, "I wanted to see the final script - it was never shown to me. I wanted to see the film before release - it was not shown to me (even though trials had been done for people). What's more, the makers had called me to their office and pressured me several times to withdraw my `Based on a novel by' credit, which was by contract. They told me they'd replace it with something like `initiated by' - a credit that doesn't exist anywhere in the world. I still told them that if the film is indeed original, I'll happily withdraw the credit, but somehow the promos don't tell me so. I asked them to show me the film and they fell silent."

The film did not get good reviews from the critics, but it was a success at the box-office and Ileana attracted a lot of attention for her charm and beauty.

The film gained her good reviews. She then made her Tamil language film debut alongside Ravi Krishna in Kedi. Sexy Anushka in SwimSuit!! Superb Figure!!

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Tue, 13 Oct 2009 01:46:00 +0000

She is the hottest item right now in south india. Debutted in Tollywood but also acts in kollywood entertaining tamil souls.

She has the perfect shape and probably got that shape through her interest in yoga. Having paired with Big Actors delivering Hits, there is a bright chance for telugu/tamil fans to enjoy her beauty for a long time.

Mangalore born, tulu girl Anushka Shetty is relatively new to Movie Industry. But reached the top spot in telugu cinema quite fast after a string of stunning performances and with a number of box office hit movies. Started out as a yoga teacher, she found cine field as a better alternative to showcase her well structured, shapely body. Coupled with the beautiful face and acting skills she is an instanct winner and sure to stay in cine industry for long.

Even with the amazing success at the telugu box office, she wasn’t quite capture the tamil and hindi cine field through her few attempts. Nevertheless, she is quite busy in Andhra movies itself and hardly has time to worry about. Recently she is acting with tamil popular star Vijay for a new movie. With that movies success, and with the help of dubbed version of highly successful movie Arundhadhi, she is sure to catch tamil fans attention soon.

Hot Kajal looking very Cute in New Film ! Arya2!!

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Wed, 30 Sep 2009 00:32:00 +0000

Kajal has been on high with the success of "MagaDheera". Now ,We have to wait and see her performance in Arya2!!
Kajal Agarwal is one busy actress. Off late, she has been working 14 hours a day, thanks to her three big projects that are lined up for release this year — Magadheera with Ramcharan Tej, Aarya-2 with Allu Arjun and a film opposite Ram. While every other starlet struggled her way to the top, Kajal admits that right from her debut, she has had a “dream run” in Tollywood.

“I am lucky to have bagged such big budget projects. Roles in movies like Magadheera, which is a period film and one of the most expensive ones made in Tollywood, doesn’t come your way everyday. This is certainly a milestone project for me. When I sign up for a project, I take my work seriously. While shooting, I switch off from everything else in my life. I’m happy with my career graph,” says Kajal who attributes her success to her hard work.
Hard work is not the only virtue of this chirpy actress who is known to be the ‘Miss Congeniality’ of Tollywood. Rumours are rife that Kajal is using her people skills to circulate her sister’s portfolio who is also a Tollywood aspirant. Ask her about her promoting spree and the actress justifies, “My sister, who has attended theatre classes, has already got a couple of offers. It’s totally her call whether she wants to act in movies or not. If she is interested in a role, she will take it up. I will only guide her. I am definitely not promoting her.”
But won’t her sister be adding to the competition from the horde of young actors? “There is fierce competition in Tollywood but it is healthy. Directors choose their actors depending on the character they have in mind. The industry is huge and there is space for everyone,” says Kajal doling out an evasive response.
The actress who has dabbled even in Tamil cinema claims that she has her roots fixed in Tollywood because she prefers the Telugu “happy endings” over the dark, “reality” of Tamil movies. “If I come across a good script, I will be ready to act in any industry. But Tamil movies are sometimes too realistic and the truth isn’t always pleasant. There are rarely any sad endings in Telugu cinema and I enjoy that,” says Kajal who even has her eyes set on Bollywood.
“I’ve got a couple of Bollywood offers but I haven’t signed up for anything yet. Language is not a barrier. In college, I learnt to appreciate the beauty of different kinds of cinema, be it Japanese or German. It is the story which ultimately matters. I really want to do an intense thriller flick as well,” says this graduate in mass media and Journalism who plans to pursue her MBA. “I have not given up on my education completely. Right now I am focusing on my film career, I plan to study a few years later.”
But her busy career has led her to live a “dual life,” admits this lady. “Stardom hasn’t changed me as a person one bit. So, I have started leading a dual life. My friends and family treat me normally and keep me grounded, while outside it is a world of full of glitz and glamour,” she ends.
