Prayer: Nancy Jeltema's mom

Nancy's mom, Grace, went home to be with the Lord yesterday morning. Thank you for your prayers! The family is at peace, knowing that Grace is in His presence now. There will be a visitation on Sunday (the 27th) from 3-4pm at the Grandville Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf funeral home, with a memorial service at 4. Please continue to pray for Nancy and the family during this time.

Prayer: Deborah MacDonald's BIL

Thank you for your prayers for Deborah's brother-in-law, Dan. The family has received some very hard news. The mass in Dan's brain IS a malignant tumor. They don't know exactly what type of cancer; only that it is aggressive and may actually be multiple types of cancer. Dan will start a course of chemotherapy and radiation treatments in mid-June. Because the treatments will be in Cleveland, the family has made the difficult decision to leave their home in Maryland and move to Cleveland where they can live in a condo owned by Dan's dad. This is an abrupt change and will be difficult on all of them, and as of yet they have been unable to sell their home. Please continue to pray for Dan, Cathe, and their 3 kids! They have an awful lot of uncertainty right now and your lifting them up in prayer is much appreciated!

Prayer: Deborah MacDonald's BIL

Please pray for Deborah's brother-in-law, Dan. You may remember we've prayed for him before...he has had multiple brain surgeries and radiation in the past. They recently found a mass in his brain and he will be having surgery next Tuesday to biopsy it and see what it is. The doctor doesn't THINK it likely that it's a tumor; it may be "scar" tissue from earlier radiation treatments. They won't know for sure though until they perform the biopsy. Pray for Dan and for the surgery on Tuesday!

Prayer: Jordan Harney

Thanks for praying for Paul & Pat's grandson and the problems with his eyes. The family hadn't heard back from the specialist at UofM and just found out it's because one office never sent Jordan's file to another office. That was frustrating and Jordan has been getting discouraged. He now has an appointment at UofM on May 30th and will be trying a special contact lens to try and flatten out the cornea. Please pray that this will work!

Prayer: Cheri Williams - Update

Thanks for your prayers for Frank Suidinski's friends Cheri and her husband Dave. They made the determination tonight that Cheri had essentially died and so the hard decision was made to remove her from life support and hope to donate some of her organs. Please pray for Dave during this really difficult time!

Prayer: Cheri Williams

In the past, we have prayed from Frank Suidinski's friend Dave. Frank just let us know that Dave's wife Cheri has had a major heart incident and is now on life support at the Meijer Heart Center. The situation is not very hopeful, so our prayers are with Dave and his family and friends during this extremely difficult time. Let's also pray for God's miraculous healing as well as comfort and support for Cheri's loved ones.

Prayer/Praise: Marybeth Molenkamp's dad

Here's the latest from Marybeth: Her dad is doing much better today. His left side IS still very impaired from the stroke, but he had begun to see improvement even between yesterday afternoon and evening. Evidently, his life was probably saved by a very fast response and administration of a drug that often can't be gotten to stroke victims fast enough. Praise God! We're so thankful that he is stable. Please keep praying for his recovery!

Lori is home now...she got home about 8pm Tuesday night. They still don't really have a definitive answer for what happened on Sunday, but they ruled out all serious issues and there was nothing to be gained by her staying in the hospital. She will meet on Wednesday with her doctor and discuss further options. Praise God that she's doing better! Please continue to pray for a diagnosis and treatment.

Prayer/Praise: Marilynn Walker

The nodule that was removed from Marilynn's breast was a bit larger than they thought previously, but now that pathology has come back they still feel confident. The closest lymph node to the mass had an extremely low level of cancer that is not a big concern. They still are going to start a treatment of localized radiation that Marilynn will begin this next week. She will have 2 treatments per day for 5 days, then she should be done. Thanks for your prayers!

Prayer/Praise: Marilynn Walker

Marilynn is out of surgery and in recovery, and it sounds like everything went very well! They will of course know more after pathology, but the surgeon seems fairly confident that the cancer had not spread past the nodule they removed and that there is a good chance they got it all. Praise God! Thank you for your prayers. Keep praying now for Marilynn's recovery and for the final pathology results.

Prayer/Praise: Deborah MacDonald's mom

Deborah's mom, Joanne, met with the oncologist on Friday and got some very encouraging news. She has been put on a pill form of chemotherapy that has been given a prognosis of giving her at least 3 years (and possibly many more) with a minimum of side effects. Praise God for this positive news; it is a huge relief for the family! She has started the medication and your continued prayers for its success are appreciated.

Prayer/Praise: Sherryl Fall

God is good! Sherryl had the surgery today to remove part of her pancreas, and she came through the surgery very well. The surgeon is very encouraged about her prognosis. She still needs our prayers; the recovery is going to be long and painful, but it looks like it may have solved the issues she has been having for so long. Thank you so much for all your prayers!

Prayer: The Wendt Family

Pray for the Wendts, as Steve's mother has recently been given 3-6 months to live, but her family believes it is even less. She was hospitalizes with blood clots in both of her lungs last week. During that time, they found her breast cancer (that was treated a couple of years ago) has actually spread and is now classified as stage 4. Pray for Steve and Lynn as they figure out plans to see her in the next few days. Also pray for comforting for the entire family during this very difficult time.

Prayer: Sherryl Fall

Next week Sherryl will have the stent, which has not been working, out of her pancreas. Then, on August 4th they will perform a surgery to remove about half of her pancreas. This is radical and risky surgery, but they believe it to be the only viable option left to address the ongoing problems. Please continue to pray!

Prayer/Praise: Sandi Geurink

Sandi is awake and responsive and making definite progress! Her blood pressure is stable and it sounds like they will be removing the vent soon (so she will be breathing on her own) and they may try to get her sitting up today. Praise God for answered prayers! Please continue to pray; she is doing much better but still has a ways to go and there are still blocked arteries that will need to be addressed.
