Doctor Strange - Challenge for Benedict Cumberbatch's Talent ?

Benedict Cumberbatch plays Dr. Stephen Strange, a brilliant surgeon whose hands are damaged beyond any medical repair following a car accident. Determined to cure himself, he travels to Nepal to seek out the less conventional healing powers of the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), a monk-like character who harnesses great magic. Strange is taught how to tap into this sorcery (almost like the Force in Star Wars) and is enlisted by the Ancient One in her efforts to thwart Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen), a former student gone bad. Along for the ride are Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), another, more dutiful, student of the Ancient One, and Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams), a doctor at the hospital Strange used to work at and his former flame.

Donning a slightly strange American accent, Cumberbatch is nevertheless an assured casting as Stephen Strange, never quite as smarmy as his Sherlock Holmes but exuding just enough egotism that he can share an inevitable chest-pounding confrontation with Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark in the next Avengers.

The talents of Mikkelsen, whose portrayal of Hannibal Lecter on TV series Hannibal is worthy of sharing Anthony Hopkins’ prized role, are wasted on what is essentially a paint-by-numbers villain no more discernable than Thor: The Dark World ’s Malekith or Guardians of the Galaxy’s Ronan. This is perhaps Marvel’s biggest problem in its cinematic universe; that beyond Avengers and Captain America films the villains could simply be assembled on a factory line and instilled with one egomaniacal character trait or another, whether world domination or eternal life.

Although they’re allies in the upcoming movie, Baron Mordo has been one of Strange’s oldest foes, battling him many times over the years—especially in the character’s earliest stories in the pages of Strange Tales. After being thoroughly smacked about by Strange multiple times, Mordo finally teamed up with Strange’s other longtime foe, the demonic Dormammu, to beat the sorcerer once and for all in Strange Tales #132. The three-issue arc culminates in issue #134, in an epic battle between the spirit forms of Strange and Mordo that takes place on and inside the heart of the sun itself, surrounded by atoms.

Almost every superhero has had a time in their career where they’ve found themselves stripped of their powers. When Strange found his sorcerus abilities diminished for dabbling in forbidden magics for the 2010 storyline The Doctor Is Out, he decided to try and find new magical apprentices he could teach to do continue helping safeguard the Earth.

Doctor Strange has always been kind of an asshole—he was extremely arrogant even before he became a sorcerer—but this has got to be one of his most shocking dick moves. In Strange Tales #129, the sorcerer declines an appearance on a TV news show to discuss the existence of magic, instead allowing the hosts to muck about with a powerful artifact that, live on TV, sucks them into the dimension of an evil tyrant named Tiboro.

It’s only then that Strange decides to get involved, so he promptly follows the reporters to Tiboro’s dimension, beats the evil being, and then decides to wipe the minds of the hosts to forget everything that just happened to them. Next time, Strange, just say yes to the interview.

She has been talking to a nutritionist at Betty Ford about eating healthier,” an insider revealed.

Lindsay Lohan has been looking a bit too thin as of late, and putting on a little weight wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for the actress. However, if she can learn to get her issues under control, and get back to being the talented, focused actress that fans remember.

Lohan has put on five pounds since being taken off the drug, and sources at Radar say that she is finding comfort in food as she copes with the emotional effects of being in rehab.

Betty Ford's doctors rarely prescribe anyone over the age of 15 the powerful drug, because they believe there are plenty of alternative treatments and also think that many people misuse the drug to control their weight.

Lindsay has been assigned a full team of carers - including a psychologist, dietician, chemical dependency technician and physician - who have devised a tailored care plan for her.

The troubled starlet was previously said to have freaked out and ditched her original plan to enter the Seafield Centre in New York for treatment because it doesn't allow its patients to smoke.

Ashton Demi $10 Million

There have long been reports that the couple's divorce could be one of the most expensive in Hollywood history as Kutcher is TV’s highest-paid actor and reportedly worth $140 million. And while Moore doesn't need the money, having allegedly netted $90 million in her divorce from Bruce Willis, the Post previously reported that the 50-year-old actress was "shocked" and "really hurt" by Kutcher's decision to make the first move to file for divorce.

"Demi was asking for so much money, and [the negotiation] was dragging on so long, that Kutcher got fed up and filed papers, which means their divorce negotiations will become more public," a source previously told the Post.

With hurt feelings and millions of dollars on the line, it doesn't seem like the couple will agree on a settlement anytime soon.

Although she isn't sure if more babies are in her future, Spears is said to be getting serious with boyfriend David Lucado. There was even speculation she could be engaged after she was spotted wearing a gold ring on her left hand.

Kristen Wiig 'lost'

The "Runaway" rapper has not appeared on "SNL" since 2010, but reports Thursday indicate that he could feature on the show on May 18.

According to sources close to West, the rapper has been working on a new album in Paris, but will appear on "SNL" as a musical guest next month, Page Six has reported.

Furthermore, the insiders hinted that the rapper is considering moving to Paris permanently.

NBC has not commented on the May lineup for the late night comedy show, as the bookings have not yet been finalized. Also, musical guests are only made official when they are announced on the show.

Weird. If I didn't know better, it's almost as if perhaps someone sort of almost believes it might -- might -- be possible (however unlikely, of course) that Michael Jackson didn't actually father those kids.

Meat Loaf, whose real name is Marvin Lee Aday, cancelled a European Tour in 2007 after being diagnosed with a cyst on his vocal chords and sparked further fears for his health in 2011 when he collapsed on stage. He later blamed the blackouts on past concussion injuries and his health issues on asthma.

Last year he underwent a knee replacement operation and is due to have an operation on his other knee shortly.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers spotted the comedian driving in a black Mercedes on the 101 Freeway at around 4:30 AM PT. The CHP says he was "driving erratic," "going 90 MPH" and "almost collided with a gas tanker truck."

The CHP says when they pulled Hart over, he showed "objective signs of intoxication" and was "unable to perform field sobriety tests."

He was booked into a local jail for misdemeanor DUI just before 6:00 AM PT and posted a $5,000 bond.

The actor claimed Hadid -- who has appeared on "Shahs of Sunset" -- charged him a fortune for a high end kitchen island but installed cheap wood veneer/plywood. And the complaints went on and on.

In Sly's lawsuit, filed by Marty Singer, he blamed Lisa Vanderpump, who gave Hadid a four-star referral.

Comedian Jonathan Winters dies at age 87

He was a favorite guest on the late night TV circuit for decades, often appearing with Jack Paar, Johnny Carson and Steve Allen. And he often performed in character. One one of his best known was Maude Frickert, an old lady with a quick and acid wit. He had his own TV show in the 1950s.

Winters also appeared in nearly 50 movies, including a particularly notable role in the 1963 film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

Eileen Schauder Winters, his wife of more than 60 years, died on Jan. 11, 2009. Jonathan is survived by two children and five grandchildren.

Winters was a master of improvisational comedy, "with a grab bag of eccentric personalities and facial expression," and inspired many other talents including Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, according to the Associated Press.

Winters' career began when he won a talent contest, which led to radio gigs and appearances at comedy clubs. He later was a regular on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," and recorded several classic comedy albums.

The groundbreaking comedian worked right up until his last days, voicing the character of Papa Smurf in the 2011 movie "The Smurfs" and the "The Smurfs 2," due out later this year.

Armstrong Sells Estate

The 1.7 acre home is believed to have been sold for around £2m to energy dealer Al Koehler, despite the property originally being listed at £6.5m.

"I'm glad this house stayed with a loyal Austinite," Koehler told the American-Statesman. "We can do a lot of good for the city of Austin with this home. I didn't pay anything close to that [listing], but the Austin rumour mill is what it is."

Armstrong, who also owns a home on Hawaii, has a fortune is said to be worth £39m.

The Yankees star has been dating former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson but if the reports are true than the two have probably split ways. Either that or A-Rod will have a little explaining to do when he gets back to New York.

The Yankees would probably appreciate it if Rodriguez focused a little more on his recovery instead of flirting with young women but at least he’s not getting involved in any drunken wrestling like Rob Gronkowski.
