ELLEN DEGENERES and her partner PORTIA DE ROSSI have topped an online poll to find the most popular celebrity couple.
Fans of the talk show host and her actress wife flocked to PopEater.com to vote for the openly gay couple – handing them 31 per cent of more than 25,000 votes.
The pair beat music’s first couple Beyonce and Jay-Z into second place, ahead of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who finished third.
Rumoured Twilight sweethearts Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes round out the top five.

KATY PERRY has celebrated the New Year with a new tattoo – she has posted a photo of her latest henna design on her Twitter.com page.
The pop star, who rang in 2010 in India, where she’s holidaying with boyfriend Russell Brand, had her wrist and hand tattooed as part of her New Year’s Eve (31Dec09) celebrations.
In a post to accompany the photo she posted online, Perry wrote, “I’m typing this with one hand… Isn’t it lovely? It’s Henna!”

Hip-hop producer SCOTT STORCH has confirmed reports he dated rapper LIL KIM in 2005, insisting she’ll always be the love of his life.
The stars sparked rumours they were a couple when they attended various events together following the rapper’s release from prison in July 2006.
Neither Storch nor Kim ever confirmed or denied they were romantically involved – but now the beatmaker has opened up about his feelings for the Lady Marmalade star, admitting they are now just close friends instead of lovers.
He tells AllHipHop.com, “I love her to this day. She’s a wonderful girl.
“She has had a not-so-easy life. And she’s dealt with the same things that the media puts everybody through and I have feelings for her as a person and wedated. We were cool and that’s all that was. I consider her a friend and somebody I care about for the rest of my life.”
Kim was sentenced to a year-long prison stint in 2005 after being convicted on charges of conspiracy and perjury relating to a shooting in New York in 2001.

The former Simple Life star – who welcomed daughter Harlow Winter – her first child with beau Joel Madden – in January this year – “is taking vitamins, eating healthy and designing trendy maternity wear in preparation for her second pregnancy,” Star magazine reports.

A source tells the publication, “Nicole simply told Joel that she wants another baby – right away.

“He was a little overwhelmed at first, but now he’s with her 100 percent. They’re both thrilled about adding to their family.

“They went through a rough patch, but now things are amazing between them.

“Nicole knows it’s because they’re both so happy with Harlow, and she truly believes another baby will double their commitment.”

The beautiful actress, who has a two-year-old daughter Suri with husband Tom Cruise, claims her parents were very strict when she was growing up and admits her parents would not have been happy if she began drinking alcohol and dating boys.

She said; “I was quite shy at parties and I always had an early curfew. It was kind of like, ‘Oh, hey, the party is starting, I’ve got to go.’

But I had fun in high school. I did go to parties, I went to football games, the movies and I went to all the dances.

I wasn’t the one who was bringing kegs of beer though. I wouldn’t be sitting here today if I did that, that’s for sure, because I would be locked up in the basement still. My parents would have done something to me.”

Katie also revealed she found it difficult to meet boys because her father Martin hated when she had boyfriends.

She told Britain’s OK! magazine; “My dad always tried to intimidate boys because he is quite tall. So I always dated very nice boys and got home early!”

Meanwhile, Katie has become extremely fond with her husband Tom Cruise’s jeans that she can’t seem to stop wearing them.

The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star has been spotted recently wearing Tom’s jeans with various T-shirts while she’s in New York rehearsing for her upcoming Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s play ‘All My Sons’.

A source close to Katie revealed; “It’s the new look Katie is going for.”

The Hollywood couple’s stylist Jeanne Yang has also confirmed Katie has been wearing the jeans and a representative for Prps revealed the beauties unique sense of style has inspired them to start up a women’s range of denim for the fall season.

Representaitve Kim Dillard for the clothing company said; “Prps has adapted the style for women in the new fall collection as the Boyfriend jean.”

The beautiful actress, who has the new animated movie ‘Madagascar: Escape 2 the Jungle’ currently playing in theaters, believes the couple’s relationship would struggle in a professional enviroment.

She said; “Will wanted to do ‘Madagascar’ with me but we decided to stay married. I love being in control. I plan on being in control on a film sometime next year as well.”

Jada had previously asked Will to direct her scenes in her new directorial debut in ‘The Human Contract’ but did admit in doing so the request led to some family tension.

She said; “The family that directs together has to work hard to stay together!”

Earlier this year the beautiful actress confessed her marriage has it’s ups and downs revealing; “My life with Will is beautiful and sound.

But I don’t want people to misunderstand what that means. That doesn’t mean that we don’t have disagreements or that sometimes I want him out of my face and he wants me out of his.

Meanwhile, Jada recently admitted she is a “tomboy”, who grew up taking part in traditionally males sports and had a lot of males friends.

She said; “I’m a girl-guy and I always have been. I’m a tomboy, I like boxing, and I like sports.

The irony is I was the girl in school that was always very petite and underdeveloped so I was thought of as everybody’s little sister.

I was never the girlfriend. I was always the little sister. Guys were going, ‘We love Jada. That’s my girl. That’s my little sister, right there.’”

The beautiful actress, who recently joined up with director Woody Allen for the third time in ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’, is said to have changed severly since she first appeared in Woody’s 2005 movie ‘Match Point’.

A source revealed; “The producers have been saying that Scarlett isn’t the same and that she has turned into the biggest prima donna.

These are the same producers who worked with Scarlett on ‘Match Point’. Everyone back then said she was a sweetheart but now they say, ‘Scarlett has let it go to her head.’”

However a representative for Scarlett is denying these claims telling the New York Post newspaper, “Scarlett loves the movie and enjoyed working with everyone on it.”

Meanwhile, Scarlett recently admitted she hates having to leave her movie characters behind once shooting the film has wrapped.

She said, “I can’t help thinking about what happens to them after the film ends. I care about them. I usually assume that my character lives happily ever after.

In my mind every character I play ends up living in the suburbs with two-point-five children. That’s just the way that I see it. I’m always thinking, ‘I’m sure they’re OK.’ ”

In other news, Scarlett recently slammed Hollywood’s treatment of older actresses insisting many women see their careers “wilt” after they get past a certain age.

The young star is upset that the majority of the movie industry relies on looks and has blasted film bosses for ignoring the talents of several mature actresses and she also believes this rule doesn’t apply to men.

As male actors get older they don’t lose their popularity with casting directors.

She said; “Women kind of wilt as men achieve as they get older, like wine.

It’s like, ‘Oh she’s past her prime and can’t play a sex symbol’.

It’s just a preconceived notion about women in general and particularly in this industry. It’s a very, very vain industry.”

Britney Spears will kick off the 2008 MTV Video Music awards (VMAs), the channel has confirmed.

The Toxic star put in an unforgettable performance at last year’s ceremony, stumbling her way through dance routines and miming poorly as fears grew for her mental state.

However, since her hospitalisation earlier this year – as well as her family being granted control of her estate – the 26-year-old is on the road to recovery and is “excited” to open the 2008 awards.

“MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs?” she told People magazine.

“I’m excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated.”

The singer has been nominated 16 times for an astronaut-shaped VMA but has never been successful.

However, she has another shot at glory this year with nominations in the best female video, best pop video and video of the year categories, all for her hit Piece of Me.

MTV Networks’ music president Van Toffler commented: “Britney has done everything from perform with a snake, lock lips with Madonna and prove that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.

“I can’t wait to see what she does to kick off this year’s show.”

British comedian and actor Russell Brand is hosting this year’s event, which takes place on Sunday in Los Angeles.
