Describe life on campus.

I like it. I learn a lot every day, especially about psychology.

Describe Crush ng Bayan.

One who is good-looking and who should be a role model.

What is your biggest challenge in school? How do you cope with it?

I’m especially stressed when I have one exam after another for my major subjects. I have no other choice but to study hard to cope with the pressure.

What is your biggest reward?

I became one of the models for ABS-CBN, which is in search of role models for the youth. I made it to the top three. I was given the chance to walk on the ramp and do print ads for Props.

Why did you choose your course and your school?

My school is suitably located. My course helps me understand why people act the way they do and helps me handle difficult problems I encounter in life.

What is your motto as a student?

Study hard. When you study hard, you learn more.

What is your ultimate goal?

To be a successful psychologist abroad, particularly in Spain, where my parents are, or in London, where my aunt is.

How is school helping you become a better person?

I learn so much in school. Now I have a better understanding of people’s behavior, why they act and react in certain ways.

How do you see yourself five years from now?

I see myself as a successful psychologist, able to help a lot of people by giving them the right advice.

What is your favorite:

Subject: Mathematics, like solving math problems and statistics.

Flower: White rose. It symbolizes purity and honesty.

Memory: When I went to Bantay-Bata at the ABS-CBN compound with the other members of C.A.S.T. or Circle of Achievers and Spirited Teens and threw a party for the kids to make them feel loved and cared for. We also took part in Bantay Kalikasan. We planted trees at the La Mesa Dam.

Person: My loving grandma. She inspires me to do good things. I live with her in Bacoor,Cavite. My parents are in Spain for business. My friends Mylene Advincula, Catherine Anciro, Joylyn Santos, and Fredigail Buhain are also my favorites. We always support each other, especially with our school projects. I can also tell them about my problems.

Place: Spain. I spent my vacation there with my family last year.

Dream: To be a supermodel someday. I look up to Leticia Casta.

Song: “I Honestly Love You,” whose lyrics and melody move me.

Book: “Like Water for Chocolate.” I love the story. I can relate to it.

Movie: “Killing Me Softly.” I like it for Joseph Fiennes and its very romantic story. The guy showed how much he loved the girl.

Vacation: I just stay home. I’m a homebody. I enjoy watching TV and dancing.

Day of the week: Sunday. I go to church.

Time of the day: I like morning, when we go to church to give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for all the blessings he has given us, especially our life. I also like evening, when I can finally rest after a hard and long day in school.

Part of the year: December is when we get together. I also like the time of the year when I spend my birthday. It’s time to give thanks for another year of blessings.

Part of the house: My room, where I can relax. I have a Hello Kitty collection I started when I was in grade school. The walls are painted pink, my favorite color.

Part of the body (yours and opposite sex): Eyes, through which you can see the truth. I mean I can see if the person is telling the truth. Also, I consider my eyes as an asset. I like my boyfriend’s eyes, too.

Sport: Basketball. It’s fun. I play with my friends.

Food: I eat anything.

Restaurant: Max’s. The taste of their chicken there is incomparable.

Cartoon character: Hello Kitty. She’s always been my favorite since I was a child.

Brand of shoes: Mango.

Brand of watch: Gucci. My mom gave me this watch.

"Kahit Isang Saglit," one of the region’s biggest and much-awaited Asianovelas, will have its world premiere today on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida. With Asian hearth-throb Jericho Rosales and one of the brightest young TV stars and models of Malaysia Carmen Soo as topbillers, "Kahit Isang Saglit" is expected to

reign over the airwaves here and in Malaysia (where Jericho became a household word via the teleserye "Pangako Sa ‘Yo," which also starred Kristine Hermosa) and other countries starting this September.

"Kahit Isang Saglit" is ABS-CBN’s first collaboration with a foreign production outfit, Double Vision of Malaysia. Completing the powerhouse cast are Christopher de Leon, Albert Martinez, Cristine Reyes, Dick Israel, Malou de Guzman, Isabel Rivas, Wilma Doesn’t, Empoy, and Malaysian stars Louisa Chong, Soosan Hoh, and Awal Ashaari.
The late Manong Gilbert Perez first directed "Kahit Isang Saglit," and it is now under the helm of Jerry Sineneng. The title serves as a tribute to "Manong" since his first movie project under Star Cinema also had "Kahit Isang Saglit" as its title.

They say love knows no boundaries, and in "Kahit Isang Saglit," Jericho and Carmen play star-crossed lovers in this one-of-a-kind story that transcends culture, class, and the odds in between. Jericho as Rocky Santillan, a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent, is in pursuit of justice for his father’s death, while Carmen as Garie Hang-Li from a rich family is in search of her long-lost father. In their search of their individual goals, they found each other.

Jericho stands to gain a lot from "Kahit Isang Saglit" since it will serve as his comeback. He was out of the limelight for a year, during which he concentrated on his singing. But while on his musical journey of sort, he realized he has to do something to prove his mettle once more. "Minsan kasi may nagsabi sa akin, ‘Ano, musikero ka na lang ba?’ Nasaktan ako, not only for myself but for all (the) singers and musicians," Jericho related. "May purpose ang bawat tao…I realized my mistakes, I learned from them. I also learned how to let go…," he added.

Now about their roles:

As PDEA agent, Jericho’s goal and mission is to subdue Amorseko, the biggest drug syndicate in the Philippines in hopes that this will lead him to his father’s killers. This goal will bring him to Malaysia where he will find the love he has waited for in his life.

As Garie Hang-Li, Carmen is a nice lady, but she is also a fighter. Her goal is to go to the Philippines to look for her long-lost father.

Christopher de Leon is Anthony Mondragon, a man looked up to in society. He is influential and mighty, but his weakness is with the woman he loves.

Cristine Reyes is Alona Mondragon who feels unloved by her mother, but has full of love for Rocky. She provides the third side of the love triangle with Jericho and Carmen.

Albert Martinez is Ronaldo Dimaandal, who’s out to become the leader of Amorseko, but all his plans changed when he met Eunice (Soosan Hoh), an obedient daughter but who defied her mother when she met Ronaldo. Falling for him changed and destroyed her life, but she never regretted it because the product of her love affair with Ronaldo was Garie.

D!ck Israel is Mateo, Rocky’s commander at PDEA.

Isabel Rivas is Vivian Mondragon. All she wanted is to be loved by Anthony Mondragon. She’s willing to be a martyr just to be loved even just a little bit by her husband.

Malou de Guzman is Marian Dimaandal, Rocky’s loving aunt; Empoy Marquez is Nestor, the funny partner of Rocky at PDEA; Wilma Doesnt is Mona, who provides fun and laughter to Rocky and their friends.

Dennis Trillo on Cristine Reyes's reported suicide attempt: "Nagulat ako at natawa..."

Late na dumating sa grand presscon ng Mag-ingat Ka Sa... Kulam last Sunday, September 21, ang leading man ng pelikula na si Dennis Trillo. Nanggaling pa raw kasi siya sa isang provincial show.

Namangha naman si Dennis sa ganda ng trailer ng pelikula nila ni Judy Ann Santos at 48th anniversary offering ng Regal Entertainment.

"Ngayon ko lang napanood yung buong trailer talaga," sambit ni Dennis. "Sulit na ulit yung isang taon [na shooting] at mabigyan ng pagkakataon ng Regal na makatrabaho ko si Judy Ann. Sobrang suwerte ko dahil ang daming naghahangad na artistang lalaki na makatrabaho siya and napakasuwerte ko na isa ako doon sa mga lalaking yun."

Ayon kay Judy Ann, hindi sila nagkaroon ng chance ni Dennis na maging close dahil may sarling mundo ang aktor kapag nagsu-shooting sila. Ano ang masasabi ni Dennis dito?

"Hindi kasi, tahimik lang talaga ako, e. So, madalas nagkikita lang kami kapag nagyayaya siya madalas kumain. Marami kasi siyang dalang pagkain talaga. And sa set, halos lahat kami laging gutom palagi. So, every break, every lunch break, every dinner, merienda, 'ayun, pupunta ako sa kuwarto niya para makikain," lahad ng young actor.

Na-feel ba niya na isang Judy Ann Santos ang kapareha niya sa pelikula?

"Isa na rin yun siyempre. Kasi hanggang ngayon, every time na nakikita ko siya, kahit na pangalawang pelikula namin itong ginawa, nai-starsrtuck pa rin ako sa kanya dahil iba yung aura. Maganda yung level of confidence saka yun, ibang level, e. Ibang level yung Judy Ann talaga. Kaya napakasuwerte ko na nakatrabaho ko siya," pahayag ni Dennis, na unang nakasama si Judy Ann sa pelikulang Aishite Imasu.

ON CARLENE AGUILAR. Ano naman ang reaksiyon niya sa nababalitang may idini-date na raw ang ina ng anak niyang si Calix na si Carlene Aguilar na mayamang businessmn?

"Ah, talaga meron ba?" balik-tanong ni Dennis. "Wala akong balita. Pero siyempre, okey yun. Karapatan din naman niya na maging masaya sa buhay niya, di ba? At kailangan maka-move on ang bawat isa sa amin kaya mabuti na rin yun siguro."

Uso raw ngayon ang balikan sa showbiz gaya ni Mylene Dizon na nabuntis ulit courtesy of Paolo Paraiso.

"Ah, hindi ko alam, e. Hindi natin masasabi kung what the future holds, di ba? Pero ewan ko."

As of the moment, wala bang chance na magkabalikan sila ni Carlene?

"Ngayon kasi mas focus ako sa trabaho ko. Kumbaga, alaga doon sa anak ko and masaya ako sa ngayon. So, ganun muna ang ginagawa ko."

Hindi ba sila nagkaroon ng bonding ni Carlene nung pini-prepare nila ang first birthday party ni Calix?

"Nakakapag-usap kami nang maayos, lalo na sa pag-o-organize nung party nung anak namin. ‘Tsaka masaya kaming parati and proud parents kay Calix. Masayang-masaya rin si Calix sa birthday party niya kasi ano, e, kitang-kita sa mukha niya na nag-enjoy talaga siya nung araw na ‘yon," sabi ni Dennis.

Never ba pumasok sa isip nila ang ideya ng balikan?

"Sa ngayon, ano, e, katulad ng sinabi ko, mas focus ako ngayon sa career ko, sa pag-aalaga ng anak ko, although hindi kami magkasama. Pero hindi naman kailangang biglain lahat, e. Tingnan natin kung ano ang mangyayari. Pero sa ngayon career muna at maraming ginagawa."

Hindi rin daw niya napapanood si Carlene na kumakanta sa Celebrity Duets.

"Hindi talaga ako nakakapanood. Hindi naman sa sinasadya ko. Marami lang talagang commitment ngayon. Wala talaga akong pagkakataon makapanood. Pero marami nga ang pumupuri na magaling daw siya. Sa ngayon kasi, hindi talaga ako naghahanap kasi ayokong maghanap ng panibagong problema."

ON CRISTINE REYES. Nabalitaan ba niya ang balitang nag-attempt mag-suicide ng nakarelasyon niyang si Cristine Reyes?

"Sa pagkakaalam ko, naospital siya dahil sa sobrang pagod lang ‘ata or overfatigue. Pero yung pagsu-suicide, hindi ko alam. Hindi niya siguro gagawin yun at walang dahilan."

Paano niya nalaman?

"Nakibalita ako sa mga kaibigan din niya and nakausap ko rin siya. Tinanong ko siya and ano lang, parang sa sobrang pagod dahil nagti-taping siya palagi."

May communication pa rin ba sila ni Cristine?

"Yun lang. Yung time na yun. Dahil siyempre, nagulat ako nung makarating sa akin. ‘Totoo ba yun?'"

Dinalaw ba niya si Cristine nang maospital ito?

"Wala, parang sandali lang din ‘ata siya doon. Kinumusta lang."

Na-tense ba siya nung mabalitaan niya na nag-suicide raw si Cristine?

"Nagulat ako at natawa kasi wala naman siyang dahilan para gawin yun," sagot ni Dennis.

Sigurado siya na walang dahilan si Cristine para mag-suicide?

"Parang wala, wala naman."

Paano kung siya pala ang dahilan ng pagtatangka ni Cristine sa buhay niya, bagamat itinanggi na ng kampo ng young actress ang lumabas na report?

"Hindi siguro. Imposible," sabi ni Dennis.

Ano na ang situwasyon nila ngayon ni Cristine?

"Basta maayos kaming naghiwalay. Yun lang yun. Maayos, walang galit. Walang tampo."

Bakit nag-text pa rin siya kay Cristine?

"Dahil lang po nalaman ko na may ganung balita sa kanya. So, ako siyempre, concern din naman ako kahit paano kaya tinagawan ko siya," paliwanag niya.

“A lot of people love this work whether they’re in it or not. Whether they get breaks or not, there’s someone who loves this more than I do. I love it so much. It works well when you’re young because a lot of it is dependent on how you look, your energy, how you can cope and keep up with the time frames and the lack of sleep. I have crazy, crazy schedules but now us the best time to take on that kind of thing.”

Heartbreak
“In a way I’m a sucker for the pain. I actually like the feeling because then you feel alive. When I fall in love, I really give a lot and I go crazy when I fall all over.”

“If there’s anything that got to give, it would probably be my love life. Right now, I’m listening to mushy songs, fantasizing. “I always remind myself that movies and music are entertainment, but my work with the UN is reality. But I also know I wouldn’t have been in that position had I not been exposed in entertainment. So I know that they kind of work together in that way.”

Ending Child Hunger
“It’s the most basic need. It’s the most logical thing to fight for. To end hunger, you have to inform yourself, do research, know what the situation is, just how bad it is in the Philippines; or how much better or worse it is compared to Africa or Myanmar.”

“In general, people are losing hope and people feel that they can do more outside the country and are learning less about the workings of the Philippines. I only learned to appreciate this when I left because then I wanted to know more of what was going on here.

I’ve just been lucky enough to see different countries and meet different people and that helped me to stop judging people so much and boxing people I certain categories.”

“Up to this day, I still wonder; what did I do to deserve all these things I am doing now? (Doing my UN work) is just my way of giving back. I still see it that way-that with every good thing that comes in my life; I am humbled. Everything I do is personal to me so that’s why it’s hard for me to see it as a way to make money or a way to gain fame.”

“I’ve been writing songs since I was young. I grew up around musicians and artists, dancers. Music is a more personal medium because you actually create it. In a movie you play a role; you play someone else’s life. It’s an eclectic album and it’s meant to be that way.”

“ I was on my set shooting for my movie and it was really late-3am somewhere on Timog in QC. This 4x4 drives by with the windows rolled down and a song from my album, “It Must Have Been Love,” was playing really loud. I was really excited about that! And in the middle of the scene I’m like, “That’s my album! That’s me!” Of course, the director had to yell ‘Cut!’ ”

Fashion
“I like clothes that may not be high fashion but there’s still a punch and colors that give you energy. If I’m going to wear something loud, I like to keep the cut simple and not have too many things going on at one time. There are days when you want to blend in and days when you don’t. On the days that you don’t, you have to be careful because you don’t want to come on too strong.”

“I don’t know if I believe in ‘The One.’ The guy has to make me fall in love more than I fell in love the first time. That’s why I’m in trouble right? I don’t mean to be too idealistic. I’m just rockin’ and rollin’ right now. I haven’t met the guy either and I’m just so focused on work. It would be so unfair to the guy that we’re not spending time together. I don’t even know when I want to settle down.”

“I realize that the ‘love team’ is really a big part of Philippine pop culture. It’s unavoidable. At this point, we’re good friends and we are honest about whatever we feel. That we’re both young and we’re busy, I think that’s the great bit because then you’re productive.”

“It’s kind of like The Truman Show. When I saw that movie I was moved because I felt like a big chunk of my life isn’t like the rest. I started thinking of how people related to me in the context of ‘You came from two of our favorite movie stars’ and how I grew up with these people. I realized how much of my parents’ life was entertainment. But for me it was a really sensitive topic.”

“I look up to people who age gracefully because of their work for others like Audrey Hepburn and Angelina Jolie who come from different stages in their lives but end up being so committed to something. I can only wish to do half of what they’ve done.”

ABS-CBN finally broke its silence when it presented Bea Alonzo to the local media as the actress chosen to star in its biggest and most expensive franchised teleserye to date.

Although fans have come to love her tandem with John Lloyd Cruz, Bea will be paired with three other leading men this time around. Does she feel the pressure now that she won’t have Lloydy by her side? “Kinakabahan ako, yes. On my way here, para akong nawalan ng isang paa. Kasi wala akong ka-partner. For the first time ako lang mag-isa ang magpro-promote ng show.” But she quickly pushes such worries aside knowing that she has a lot of goals in taking on this project. “Gusto ko lang i-enjoy na ako lang ang nandito. How will I touch lives doing Betty? How will I make the Filipinos proud na meron tayong magandang version ng Betty La Fea… Dun ako mas excited.”

From the sophisticated Jackie Madrigal in Maging Sino Ka Man 1 & 2, Bea claims that she’s not afraid to be deglamorized for the role of the frumpy Betty. “Mas masarap yung feeling na pag pumasok ako ng grocery na pagusapan nila na, ‘Uy alam mo ba nangyari kay Betty kagabi?’ Kaysa sabihin nilang, ‘Uy si Bea! Sino ang last boyfriend niya?’ Mas masarap ang feeling na they see me as a character not as Bea, the actress.” Getting this role is definitely a dream come true for the talented actress, coming at a time when she’s raring to get back to work.
