cellity at the Mobile 2.0 event

Last week I represented cellity at the mobile 2.0 Europe event in Barcelona. The event took place at the ESADE business school and hosted people from all major mobile companies. On the main day the sessions were separated into Openness, Context (Location Based Services), Beyond free (how to earn money) and play (music). Beside those panels there were a couple of start up pitches.

The topic ‘connect’ was also very popular, there is a big need from users to find good solutions to manage their social networks and contacts from one central access point - as cellity is already offering very successfully. Overall a very good event about ‘the future of mobile’ as the subtitle was already suggesting.

Skyfire seals another mobile deal, with cellity

Mobile browser skyfire has announced a “cooperation” with mobile communications hub cellity. This deal means that users of each service will have easy access to the other - a link to cellity will appear in Skyfires bookmarks, and cellity will include a direct download link for the mobile browser…

Yesterday we announced that Skyfire (San Francisco) and cellity are working on a partnership together. We are happy that Skyfireusers can now access our cellity addressbook 2.0 directly within the Skyfire Browser for mobile phones (this mobile Browser enables for instance Flashcontent).

This cooperation makes very much sense since the Browser is the starting point for the Internet and the address book for any communication.

The cellity Communicator is now available for the popular Apple iPhone and Google’s G1. The software can be downloaded for free at iTunes App store and Android Market.

The intelligent contact data manager continuously and simultaneously provides up-to-date personal contact data from different sources i.e. cell phone address book, Outlook, Twitter and social networks such as Facebook.

With the integration of the famous smartphones from Apple and Google we have extended our service and will customize it to the newest mobile phones.

Thanks to a new cooperation with QYPE, cellity customers will be able to use the leading recommendation forum QYPE with its user generated reviews directly on the cellity Communicator. QYPE contacts from companies, locations and service providers - like restaurants, cinemas or hairdresser’s shops - can be put in the cellity Addressbook 2.0. The contacts will be automatically provided with the QYPE link so that the user can access the latest ratings at the QYPE forum.

cellity has closed a new cooperation with blau Mobilfunk. Both companies are going to give their customers more opportunities to join the mobile world of address management and communication. The addressbook 2.0 stores and updates contact data from many different sources (like Outlook, Twitter, social networks and email accounts) in just one place. This week, the co-operation between cellity and beta2go (E-Plus group) has been announced. I would like to take this opportunity to explain the main advantages of this co-operation for E-Plus customers.
E-Plus, BASE or simyo users can access cellity directly through beta2go in order to enjoy the first real web 2.0 address book. All of the user’s contacts will be organized in the one place, being accessible from both your mobile phone or computer.
The special advantage of beta2go is that users do not have to pay for the data connection whilst using one of the offered services: “Customers of one of the E-Plus group brands (E-Plus, BASE, simyo, AY YILDIZ, vybemobile) will not be charged for any data connections while they are using beta2go.de or one of the services.” This means that users don’t have to pay anything while they are using cellity. cellity addressbook 2.0 vs. Google Sync

Today, Google announced their new service called Google Sync. This service looks pretty similar to MyPhonebook from T- Mobile, except that Google is mainly focused on their own services whereas T-Mobile, for instance, is offering an Outlook plug-in.

Even if this might be a nice service for Google users, it is still not even close to a web 2.0 address book or in short ‘addressbook 2.0′. But there is another even more critical problem with Google. I do not have many contacts (except those uncountable automatically added email addresses I do not know whom they belong to) stored in Gmail and only the most important ones in my mobile phonebook. Most of my contacts are out there in social networks.

This is exactly where cellity has major advantages over Google. cellity has already evolved this idea to the next stage by merging traditional contacts and web 2.0 profiles in just one single service.
