So I am no longer accepting custom orders on my Etsy websites. If you already got your order in and spoke to me, you are fine.

I got swamped with orders and am working on those with about 4 weeks until teachers return to work.

Also, when I say that I am no longer accepting custom orders, this applies to individuals only. This does not include shops or wholesale, although that production will slow down significantly once I return to online classes on August 28th.

Cauldron incense burners ready to be fired in the kiln.

[Khari here--] Just finally got the electric kiln loaded and now firing to cone 6 electric (abt 2230 F). It will fire all day and then have to cool all day Sunday. We will have brand new cauldrons (with patterned scrolls), chalices, and square plates that can be used for candles, trinkets, soaps, crystal collections, and more! I am excited to have the first summer firing started!

Khari now has car charms (amulets/talismans) available on her Khari's Wiccan Treasures Etsy page.

The latest car charms that have been completed, including a few moon charms.

Originally, they started out as Christmas and Yule ornaments, then became Wiccan and pagan holiday ornaments. and then I decided that I wanted to hang one in the car--hence the car charm label.

Some of them are priced at $15 USD, and others at $20 USD, plus shipping and handling.

Each charm consists of a ceramic piece, with a design on one side (they are hand-stamped, so it is impossible to do the pattern on both sides), glazed and fired, combined with beads and/or small crystals on a copper wire link, and hang from a ribbon.

Khari also labelled them "prayer charms"--and they have their own little section in her Etsy shop.

Making an event flyer (four to a page)

This is the type of four flyer to page event flier we are making here.

Occasionally, it is necessary to make a flyer for your business. And if you are anything like me, you need to mutter to yourself, trying to remember the steps to take. Here are the steps to make a four flyers per page document in Microsoft Office--Word.

First open Word, hit the "file" tab, and select "new document." For this task, we are going to use a template. And in this case, our template is in the Small Business template folder.

Step one--get to the Small Business folder.

Once inside the Small Business template folder, stroll down until you find the desired template. In this case, it is "Event Flyer (4-up).

Step two--select desired flyer template.

After opening the flyer template, start editing the information fields. Do NOT turn off the Content Control--it needs to be on, so that all cells update with the desired information.

Step three--edit the information.

After this, it is a matter of proof reading and printing.

Step four--proof read and print.

Easy peasy--right?

[Of course, if you are anything like me, at some point in the process, you are screaming at the top of your lungs at Microsoft Word---I recommend a strong cup of tea for that.]

When pots go wrong (and we have to start all over again)

One of the hazards making handmade wheel thrown pottery is that occasionally the clay ends up being too thin in some places, requiring one to re-throw the piece. Here we have the bottom of a wheel thrown urn being too thin.

And this is just one of the reasons why handmade wheel thrown pottery takes so long to make. (It is a six stage process, requiring several days, even under the best of conditions, between the stages.)

The bottom of this wheel thrown urn was too thin.

Really, really too thin.
