Unreleased encore songs come to vinyl

Loreena is about to release two singles which were the encores at her original performance of Under A Winter’s Moon seasonal concert in 2021. They’ll be available Nov. 21 as a limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single featuring the popular hymn about love and global peace, “Silent Night,” and the rustic English song “The King,” which celebrates the New Year and is sung in wassail style, with the entire band joining in.

The newly-released encore songs will also be available to digital services Nov. 21st and Under A Winter’s Moon will be re-uploaded in an expanded edition with the two songs included.

Loreena first performed Under A Winter’s Moon in a historic church sanctuary, where it was recorded and later released as her 16th album in 2022 – but without the encore songs included. Dubbed ‘a love letter to the season,’ the performance is a mixture of music and spoken word that weaves together Celtic, Indigenous and Welsh cultures.

Live in Madrid captures it all. Offering an optimal listening experience, this album is the closest thing to being at Loreena’s July 2024 performance at the Noches del Botánico Festival. Her unforgettable performance was captured in stereo from the front-of house mixing desk.

The recording will be available as a numbered limited-edition, three-disc black vinyl set. It features the complete show with 17 songs across two 12-inch LPs, plus a bonus 10-inch EP which contains the three encores Loreena performed that night.

It is also available as a numbered, limited-edition two-CD set featuring all 20 songs performed that night.

"The Story"

In ancient times, there stood a "Dûvathar" called Eleriën... a noble "Dreamweaver" elf of pure heart,

lifting always her gaze to the starlit heavens, and imploring the universe to infuse him with the frequency of the harmonies of a true lover.

"Aranvalyë" tells the story when she finds herself lost in a boundless golden desert under the infinite sky, driven by a deeper quest for self-discovery and purpose. As she navigates the scorching sands, her spirit remains unbroken, tested by the stars' watchful gaze. Her journey culminates in discovering a hidden oasis, a haven amidst the dunes.

This original Elven song tells the story of Ithiliël, a maiden who yearns for her beloved Eliriël. She prays to the Star-Queen, Elbereth, and the Sacred Light, seeking guidance and reunion with her love.

As she follows the light of a star, Ithiliël is led to a secret haven where she is reunited with Eliriël, and they share a tender moment, meeting for the first time in pure innocence. The song culminates with the lovers embracing, and Eliriël whispering Ithiliël's name in a heartfelt moment.
