(CNN) -- "The Blind Side" could have been filmed anywhere, says Tim Bourne, an independent producer who worked on the film. But there's a reason producers brought the project to Georgia: money.

"There's nothing in [the movie] that couldn't have been shot in any midrange urban setting. The reason, and the sole reason, it was shot in Georgia was the tax incentives," he said.

'Alice in Wonderland' holds top spot at box office

(Entertainment Weekly) -- "Alice in Wonderland" proved this frame that it's no one-weekend phenomenon. The Tim Burton-Johnny Depp collaboration had audiences coming back for more. After holding extremely well throughout the week, the Disney film dropped a scant 47 percent its second weekend in theaters for an additional $62 million. It's 10-day total now adds up to $208 million--besting 2005's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" to become Burton's highest grossing film. A good 13 percent of its dollars came from its IMAX 3-D screens.

Alice's release far outshone any of the newcomers, with Matt Damon's "Green Zone" being the best performer of the bunch. Despite coming from Bourne director Paul Greengrass, this Iraq war drama didn't connect with audiences anywhere near as well as the duo's previous collaborations. The Universal film cost $100 million and only opened to $14.5 million, a gross below even the studio's modest expectations going into the weekend.

He came very close to dying once before, while touring with Radiohead in 1996; an overdose of pills, alcohol and anti-depressants caused him to lose consciousness in a London hotel room for 14 hours, with his legs pinned beneath him. His subsequent heart attack left him legally dead for several minutes, and the time he spent unconscious without circulation to his legs put him in a wheelchair for six months.

London, England (CNN) -- Saudi novelist Abdo Khal, who won the Arabic Booker prize for his novel depicting the ravaging effects of unlimited wealth, says he writes about the "double standards in our life."

Khal won the prestigious $60,000 International Prize for Arabic Fiction for his novel, "Spewing Sparks as Big as Castles."
