Chronic back pain can prevent a person from going about their daily duties, such as attending work, all the way to moments when we are supposed to be able to relax, like sitting back on the sofa or even when trying to sleep. If you suffer from this and there is no position where you feel comfortable, the many back pain treatment Warwickshire services available here at the Central Chiropractic Clinic could help you get back on top of the pain and go about your life again.

Depending on where this back pain is centralised and on other factors such as your age, our highly skilled chiropractors who all have a minimum four or five years of full-time chiropractic education and qualifications, will utilise a range of different treatments to ease the pain more and more as time goes on. Some regular treatments include:

Manual Adjustments

All treatments begin with your chiropractor taking your medical history, undertaking a full physical examination and then determining which course of treatment is best suited to you. Much of the time, a large aspect of your treatment will consist of manual adjustments that will use controlled and sudden force to manipulate your back into shape and improve quality of motion.

Nutritional & Exercise Rehabilitation

All of the treatment doesn’t just take place inside our state of the art clinic, as your chiropractor will advise on areas to look at on a daily basis. This could be anything from cutting out regular restaurant meals, to manageable exercises to perform each night.

Cold or Low Level Laser Therapy

At the forefront of chiropractic technology, this advanced therapy will use laser light energy to stimulate cells and help them function properly – especially suited to chronic back pain.

For the past 30 years the technology of Cold Laser Therapy (also known as Low Level Laser Therapy) has been formally accepted in North America and in many other parts of the world such as Europe, Russia and Japan. In all this time there have been no recorded long-term adverse effects from low level laser therapy. It is considered to be non-invasive, painless and safe.

Cold Laser Therapy uses laser light energy to stimulate cells to function optimally. In the body, light sensitive chromophores and other elements within the cell absorb energy, initiating a series of important photochemical changes such as increased production of ATP. The mitochondria and Kreb’s Cycle stimulation initiates the production of ATP, providing the cell with the extra energy needed to accelerate the healing process and positively influence pain. These activities can occur in all types of cells and includes, ligament, nerves, cartilage and muscle.

Low Level Cold Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a Handheld, non-invasive, light-emitting medical device which is used over different areas of the body. It provides an unmatched advantage in the treatment of conditions such as; Back pain, Slipped disc, prolapsed disc, herniated disc, Trapped nerves. Lower back pain.

Back pain is a common problem for many in today’s fast paced society; and if you, like so many others are experiencing back pain or you have previously been affected by pain, then we at Central Chiropractic Clinic can help you. We have devised this helpful guide filled with three tips on how you could prevent Warwickshire back pain from reoccurring.

Pain can have a severe impact on a person’s standard of living, and in some instances they require disability aids to help with day to day activities. To prevent back pain before it has a chance to impinge on your standard of living, there are a few simple tips that you can follow.

Tip One: A Healthy Lifestyle

Regular exercise can do wonders for the all-round health of your body including your back, and as a general rule, we should all be aiming to do roughly thirty minutes of exercise a day. This improves circulation and muscular strength, ensuring that your body is tougher and therefore less likely to develop back pain.

Tip Two: Posture

Your posture can have a profound effect on your back, producing pain if you are unbalanced. To prevent this from occurring we recommend that you avoid slouching in chairs, and when standing make a conscious effort to distribute weight evenly.

Tip Three: Seek Professional Help

If you are experiencing pain in your back, then you need to see a professional. Here at the Central Chiropractic Clinic we have the expertise to diagnose the cause of the problem, identify the right treatment to reduce the pain, and then implement the treatment.

By seeking help in the early stages of Warwickshire back pain, you will be able to treat it a lot quicker. With our help, you can get back to your daily routine, and be equipped with the latest preventative techniques to avert your back pain from reoccurring in the future. To get in touch, call us today on 02476 222 002.

Neck pain is a complaint which patients who visit the Central Chiropractic Clinic often suffer from. Muscular neck pain can range from slight discomfort whilst working at your desk, to a permanent ache which can make it difficult to sleep comfortably at night. When you can no longer endure the discomfort of tense muscles, and you are looking for neck pain treatment Warwickshire, look no further than our specialist clinic for simple yet effective pain relief.

Causes of Neck Pain

A number of factors can cause neck pain, and these can typically be organised into two groups: injuries, and general wear and tear. Contact sports, a personal injury Birmingham on the roads, or a fall can all cause injuries which result in neck pain. Even if you never experience one of these accidents, you could still find yourself suffering from neck pain. A modern lifestyle, an uncomfortable office chair or even a particularly cold winter could all cause painful muscles, whilst ageing can sometimes result in soft tissue damage which can lead to neck pain.

Your neck is less protected than the rest of your spine, and has to support the weight of your head, which makes it susceptible to injury. If you are suffering from neck pain as a result of any of these common factors, the Central Chiropractic Clinic can provide effective neck pain treatment Warwickshire.

Treatments for Neck Pain

Each of our patients will undergo a treatment which matches their specific diagnosis. Rest and relaxation can give your body time to recover from a neck injury, whilst chiropractic methods or physiotherapy can also offer great results for those suffering from neck pain.

Cold or low level laser therapy is the most effective neck pain treatment Warwickshire for the majority of patients. Using light energy to stimulate your cells in a non-invasive way, it can help to reduce inflammation, and in trials was found to reduce acute neck pain immediately.

For a neck pain treatment Warwickshire which can dramatically reduce your pain and discomfort, look no further than the specialist treatments on offer at the Central Chiropractic Clinic.

Read the latest Central Chiropractic post to find out exactly what is involved in physiotherapy to take any nerves away and so you know what to expect. Continue reading →

Everything involved in the physiotherapy practiced here at Central Chiropractic, is designed to ease the pain you are suffering from any area of your body. There is nothing to be anxious or worried about, as our team of friendly physiotherapists who are both male and female, will only give you the therapy that suits you and only you – taking into account your age, condition, mobility and anything else that will play a part in the treatment.

There are many different aspects of this type of treatment as it will vary depending on what area of your body is causing a problem and just how problematic it actually is; however, below are the main points about what is actually involved in physiotherapy, so you have a good idea about what to expect if you’ve just been referred to us or feel that physiotherapy may be the right method to solve your aches and pains.

Firstly, physiotherapy is a completely non-surgical approach that focuses on working with your body by using predominately manual-therapy and exercise-therapy, to ease and hopefully put an end to the specific pain. In many cases, lengthy surgery is unnecessary as our highly-qualified physiotherapists will formulate a strategy that can get you back to your best by using specially designed movement exercises – your own body being the best remedy.

The creation of this strategy is where everything will start, as the first thing your physiotherapist will need to do is examine where your pain is and diagnose exactly what is wrong with you, getting straight to the root of the problem. These problems can range from back pain caused by lifting heavy goods, to the freezing of shoulders and joints that comes with growing older. The most suitable treatment is then planned and delivered to you with a vast array of methods being used, to help you gain as much physical independence as possible.

Any type of pain can affect your enjoyment and ability to continue with most day-to-day activities, so whether you want to be able to sit easily and enjoy your cross stitch once again, or get back to work as soon as possible, the physiotherapy here at Central Chiropractic, involves the treatment you require.

Disclaimer of Endorsement: Reference herein to any specific commercial products, process, or service by trade name, trademark, manufacturer, or otherwise, does not necessarily constitute or imply its endorsement, recommendation, or favouring by Central Chiropractic. The views and opinions of authors expressed herein do not necessarily state or reflect those of Central Chiropractic, and shall not be used for advertising or product endorsement purposes.

Neck pain is a common problem which can dramatically reduce your quality of life. Sleepless nights and uncomfortable days can leave you feeling exhausted and depressed, and the longer you endure your neck pain Warwickshire without seeking treatment, the more serious it is likely to become. Central Physiotherapy & Chiropractic Clinic can provide a range of pain relief solutions which could help you to enjoy life again.

Our highly-qualified team can offer their expert advice to help you find the right treatment option for your requirements, and you can rest assured that your neck will be in safe hands with one of our physiotherapists.

What is Neck Pain?

Many people will suffer from neck pain at some time in their lives. Whether your neck feels tense in the evening after a long day sat at a desk, or you have been suffering for many months, an aching neck can cause real discomfort, even when you are sleeping on a memory foam mattress.

Your neck is less protected than your spine, and has to support the 5kg weight of your head, which makes it susceptible to a multitude of injuries. Muscles, ligaments and nerves can all become damaged, and soft tissue damage is one of the most common conditions experienced by sufferers of neck pain.

Back pain is a common problem which many of us contend with on a day to day basis, yet it is surprising how many people continue with their lives ignoring the physical stress and discomfort which this pain causes. To reduce the amount of pain you experience whilst performing routine tasks, we at Central Chiropractic & Physiotherapy Clinic have an array of treatments focused on back pain Warwickshire which aim to alleviate the amount pain you suffer with.

Causes of Back Pain

A fundamental aspect of our treatments evolves primarily upon our ability to identify the cause of the pain, so that we can effectively treat the problem. Common causes of back pain include posture, injury and stress, and all three have extremely different forms of treatment, which we have explained below.

Posture

Typically the cause of back pain for many of our patients, we treat the problem by structuring a program filled with physical exercise focused on building muscle strength and work on balancing weight distribution equally through the spine.

Injury

This is dependent on the injury, as someone who received an injury whilst performing roof repair Banbury will not have the same symptoms as someone who has lifted an object which was too heavy. However a mixture of physical exercise to build on physical strength and massages to reduce inflammation is used to reduce the amount of pain which is experienced.

Stress

When you become stressed your muscles will automatically contract and tighten in response, which over time can cause pain in the neck and lower region of your back. To combat this, we work on relaxing your muscles, by teaching you specialist techniques.

If you are suffering from back pain Warwickshire you need to talk to a qualified professional to discern the various options open to you. As professionals, we can identify the best way to treat the pain you are currently experiencing, and hopefully improve your standard of living. If you would like to talk to us about the pain you are experiencing, then be sure to get in touch with us today. You can contact us on 02476 222 002.

Trapped Nerve Nuneaton- Trapped Nerve, Entrapments around the Back, Neck and Shoulder

What is a back, neck or shoulder nerve entrapment?

Neck nerve entrapment or commonly known as a trapped or pinched nerve in most cases is an excruciating pain that may start in the neck and may radiate into one shoulder or the other as well as traveling into the arms and fingers. This is known as cervical radiculopathy. The pain from a trapped or pinched nerve can be relentless, excruciating and debilitating. Sleep is almost impossible to come by even with the strongest prescribed medication.

Prescribed Medication

Medications only mask the symptoms and rarely work or dull the pain, the medication that you have been prescribed may be so strong they will affect your daily actives, such as health and safety issues at work. These must be taken into account on grounds of safety. Driving on prescribed medication: to drive under the influence of drugs is a criminal offence - this also means prescribed medication.

Chiropractic and Cold or Low Level Laser Pain Relief

There is natural pain relief that has been proven to help relieve the pain that comes with a trapped nerve in the neck area. British Chiropractic Association registered Chiropractors are experts in dealing with a neck entrapment. A Chiropractor will gently manipulate the trapped or pinched nerve free. This is by far the fastest and most effective method, bringing fast effective pain relief. There is also further significant pain relief to be had through a modality known as Cold or low level laser therapy; this modality has five star rating for pain relief and is used at this clinic. Further information can be found under our listing “Pain Relief”. This must surely be the better way than taking the strongest of prescribed pain medication.

Causes of back or neck entrapment

There are many causes of trapped or pinched nerve that surrounds the neck area: some may occur as a result of an old or new injury such as whiplash (WAD) or a medical condition. However, for most people this could be the result of an injury known by various names such as a bulging, prolapsed, herniated or slipped disc. This condition involves the discs – the soft gel-like structures positioned between the vertebrae in your neck and spine. When one or more of them slips- the nerves around can get trapped or pinched in between the disc and the vertebrae resulting in excruciating pain.

A bulging, prolapsed, herniated or slipped disc is not the only cause of a trapped or pinched nerve in the area of the neck. Sleeping in an awkward position can cause trapped or pinched nerve leading to excruciating pain to the head, neck or shoulders. This is probably the most common cause of a trapped or pinched nerve in the neck. However, there is likely to be an excruciating pain for several weeks if not months. Ice packs will help to alleviate the swelling and the inflammation that accompany a trapped or pinched nerve.

How does it feel?

Sometimes the trapped nerve can be painless however, in the most cases the common symptom is severe pain. The pain may be felt in the neck arm, or chest. Weakness may occur in the shoulder.

What should you do?

Nerve entrapments in the neck do not get better on their own; they need manipulation and doctor prescribed medications will rarely work if the cause of the entrapment is not treated. If you have or suspect you have a nerve entrapment, consult a Chiropractor who is an expert in dealing with trapped nerves.

What shouldn’t you do?

If you have an entrapped nerve in the neck, do not ignore the problem. This can lead to a very long and very painful recovery.

Could there be any long-term effects?

Nerve entrapments in the neck may not produce any long-term effects as long as they are properly diagnosed and appropriately treated. If the source of the neck pain is not treated, a wasting of the muscles may occur.

Management

Seeking advice from a registered B C A. Chiropractor is important in the treatment of an entrapped nerve in the shoulder. Initially chiropractor can assist in diagnosing the cause of the problem and establishing its severity. Manipulation of the shoulder and the surrounding area will be the best course of action, and far better than the conventional route – “Surgery” or long term administration of “Prescribed Medication”. Cold or Low Level Laser Therapy is a modality with a five star rating for pain relief and the acceleration of the healing process. Cold laser Therapy: more information on this modality can be found listed under “Pain Relief “section

Nerve entrapments around the shoulder

What is it?

A nerve entrapment around the neck refers to when a nerve within the neck becomes trapped or compressed by tissues surrounding it.

How does it happen?

Nerves in the neck may become entrapped when adhesions develop between the nerve and muscles, tissues, discs or vertebrae that surround this area. These adhesions may restrict how much the nerve can move forwards and backwards as the arm is moved. This may cause overstretching of the nerve in the area of the adhesions resulting in the interference of signals being conducted by the nerve, or alternatively the nerves in the neck may become entrapped by extremely tight tissues surrounding this area.

These may compress the nerve and interfere with the conduction of its signals. In the Neck the most commonly entrapped nerve is the suprascapular nerve, entrapped may occur as it passes over the edges of the shoulder blade.

How does it feel?

When a nerve in the shoulder is entrapped may not be felt, however, the most common feeling is severe pain. This will occur for the suprascapular nerve pain will felt over the shoulder blade. However, pain may be felt in the arm, neck or chest. Weakness may occur in the shoulder.

What should you do?

Trapped or Pinched Nerve.

The term “trapped or pinched nerve” is commonly used to describe the pain associated with a variety of conditions from subluxations, to tunnel syndromes, and the referred pain from trigger points.

A trapped or pinched nerve is actually an irritated or inflamed nerve where the nerve itself is not actually trapped or pinched. It’s a fact in most cases, nerves become irritated and inflamed when the joints, muscles or bones of the spine are not in their original position and not moving properly, a condition which is called “subluxation”, and a chiropractor is a specialist in treating such a condition.

In many cases nerves that become ‘trapped or pinched’, as in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and Sciatica. In both cases, injury, spasm or inflammation of the surrounding muscles and connective tissue causes the nerve to become compressed, resulting in pain. This is a condition which is referred to as “tunnel syndromes”. The treatments of tunnel syndromes are more complex than treating a simple spinal subluxation, but they respond very well to chiropractic treatment.

Trigger points are tight “knots” formed when muscles are chronically overworked or injured, and are often experienced as a pinching, burning pain or occasionally as tingling sensation. Trigger points commonly cause pain that radiates to other parts of the body, which is known as referred pain. The treatment of trigger points usually requires a combination of chiropractic treatment and deep tissue massage called ‘trigger point therapy’.
