Este é um dos livros que mais gostei, trata do Pilates de forma simples e acessível. Os autores abordam desde a definição do método, seu histórico, o trabalho dos exercícios para uma integração total do corpo, até chegar na definição própria para sua técnica de treinamento. Traz atividades práticas acessíveis por meio de ilustrações. Recomendo!&lt;/div&gt;

Passados mais de sete anos sem ouvi-lo, pensei que fosse trazer algumas novidades, ainda que fosse uma pequena informação. Ao término da palestra me achei bipolar fui da tristeza à felicidade em segundos. Claro que nesse intervalo de sete anos houveram centenas de estudos, descobertas, mas no fundo nada mudou: prevalece o bom senso.&lt;br /&gt;

No excelente blog da Silvia Gomes, o texto &lt;a href="http://pilatespaco.blogspot.com/2011/12/exercicios-abdominais-repensando.html" target="_blank"&gt;Exercícios abdominais: repensando a prática&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;(o título do meu post foi altamente influenciado pelo título dela!), trás uma pequena amostra do que estou falando, que de certa forma, vai ao encontro da palestra que assisti com meu professor.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Na palestra, o Julio Serrão apresenta o resultado de alguns exercícios do pilates que do ponto de vista da eficiência, do recrutamento muscular são inferiores à outros usualmente feitos na sala de musculação, mas que são apresentados como a melhor solução pelos profissionais que atuam com pilates. No texto da Silvia Gomes ela questiona a execução de alguns exercícios abdominais característicos do pilates. Diante dessas e outras informações semelhantes o que fazer? Jogar fora nossa certificação no método pilates?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A resposta está no final da palestra do meu professor. Exceção feita às bizarrices que algumas vezes vemos por aí, exercício bom é aquele que está adequado à quem está executando. Nem sempre o melhor exercício do ponto de vista biomecânico é o mais adequado.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Precisamos repensar a prática do pilates a medida que nos últimos anos ele foi colocado como a &lt;a href="http://centraldopilates.blogspot.com/2010/06/pilates-cura-para-todos-os-males.html" target="_blank"&gt;cura para todos os males&lt;/a&gt;, a melhor e mais eficiente atividade. Pilates é bom, sim, como uma série de outras atividades. E como uma série de outras atividades ele tem pontos positivos e negativos. A ponte de ombros é um dos melhores exercícios para o fortalecimento da musculatura posterior, principalmente das pernas. Utilizo dois padrões de respiração, expirando ao elevar o quadril ou expirando durante o movimento, seja para cima ou para baixo.&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;li&gt;Realizar o movimentos com os pés apoiados em uma superfície instável como a &lt;a href="http://busca.corpoperfeito.com.br/?busca=bola+sui%C3%A7a"&gt;bola suiça&lt;/a&gt; ou o rolo.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Realizar o movimento com um dos pés apoiados em um disco proprioceptivo ou em uma over ball.&lt;/li&gt;

Para falar a verdade meu primeiro contato com aquela sala que mais parece uma sala de tortura se deu em meados de 2001, mas só muito tempo depois vim me dedicar à técnica. Comecei da maneira que muitos que trabalham em grandes academias começam: o professor de pilates faltou, entre lá e dê a aula!&lt;br /&gt;

Em uma mistura de aula de abdominais, aula de alongamento e do que já havia vivenciado nas aulas de pilates dos meu colegas, ministrei minha primeira "aula de mat pilates", mas aquilo não era pilates de verdade. Comecei a ler sobre o assunto e fazer mais aulas para ter um mínimo de preparo se precisassem de mim novamente e quando menos esperava ganhei minha primeira turma. Fazer um curso foi inevitável. Depois do primeiro, vieram outros, de studio, de props, com bola etc. Conheço inúmeras histórias como a minha, mas poucos buscaram se aprofundar na técnica.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
De 2001 pra cá o pilates cresceu muito no Brasil, virou moda, os cursos ficaram mais baratos e se proliferaram e como tudo que acontece dessa forma a qualidade caiu. O que vemos por aí, na maioria das vezes, é o que eu fiz inicialmente naquela aula em que substitui um colega, a mistura de técnicas, o que não está errado, mas não é pilates.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Não sou adepta do método puro, prefiro o método moderno por motivos que já foram explicados no texto &lt;a href="http://www.fiqueinforma.com/aulas-de-academia/pilates/pilates-o-exercicio-da-moda-puro-ou-generico/"&gt;Pilates: o exercício da moda. Puro ou genérico?&lt;/a&gt;. Acredito que um profissional com boa formação acadêmica e domínio dos princípios do método seja capaz de criar novos movimentos, novos desafios, adaptar materiais e exercícios, sem perder a essência do pilates.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Por outro lado sou totalmente a favor de se levar o pilates para dentro de outras práticas. Por que não usar a organização do corpo presente no pilates, nas aulas de musculação? Por que não usar alguns exercícios na bola que fortalecem glúteos e posteriores da coxa em uma aula de ginástica localizada? Por que não usar exercícios tão característicos, como o hundred, com o aluno de Personal? Há práticas interessantíssimas que fazem isso, como é o caso do &lt;a href="http://centraldopilates.blogspot.com/2011/06/x-tend-extensao-do-pilates.html"&gt;X-Tend&lt;/a&gt;, e como muito sucesso.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Pilates não se faz em grandes quantidades, em alta velocidade, em séries de 12, de 15. Pilates prima pela perfeição do movimento e isso se constrói respeitando seus princípios. A roupa ideal para fazer pilates deve ser justa ao corpo para evitar que se prenda ao equipamento e também deixe partes íntimas à vista, quando fazemos exercícios em posição invertida.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Calça bailarina, por exemplo, é muito ruim. A perna mais larga prende-se com facilidade atrapalhando a execução de muito exercícios. Camisetas largas sobem quando estamos em posição invertida, assim como shorts de pernas largas.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Uma boa opção, muito usada por professores de Pilates, é o macacão. Inteiro e colado ao corpo oferece conforto total na hora de se exercitar. Para quem não gosta desse tipo de roupa uma outra opção são as calças corsário e camisetas mais justas que podem ser presas dentro da calça quando virara de cabeça para baixo.&lt;br /&gt;

Fique atento às dicas verbais dadas durante os exercícios.&lt;br /&gt;

Perceba que como se trata de um desafio crescente, o grau de dificuldade dos exercícios vai aumentando, portanto só tente realizar um movimento se domina o anterior. Uma dica para quem ainda não tem muita prática é realizá-los separadamente, com pausas ou intercalando com outros exercícios. A execução não deve ser sofrida e tão pouco ocasionar dor ou desconforto, observe como o professor realiza o movimento suavemente mantendo-se estável durante toda a sequência.&lt;br /&gt;
