This exhibition is a retrospective show of classic Italian high fashion outfits from the fifties to modern day. A display of master piece dresses crafted by top renowned Italian designers such as Armani, Balestra, Capucci, Camerino, Alberta Ferretti, Gianfranco Ferré, Valentino, and Versace whose worn by royalty and important female icons and celebrities such as Princess Grace of Monaco, Princess Diana of Wales, Jacqueline Kennedy, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren.

Besides this amazing exhibition, Central Embassy recently arranged a fashion seminar on “Introducing Italian Designers” with Thailand’s Fashion Guru – Mr.Kullawit Laosuksri, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Magazine (Thailand) at workshop room.

Central Retail Corporation turns the page on a new chapter in the retail story of Asia by introducing the new, iconic retail landmark of Asia, “Central Embassy”. The night of February 10 marks the first of many steps in a journey both inspiring and historic, where the finest of art and culture will blend with an influential, individual shopping experience. It will be a unique first for Bangkok when Central Embassy opens its doors in 2013 to become the global core of the city.

The launch event takes on the theme of “The Infinite Nature of Possibilities”, a glimpse into the endless possibilities that Central Embassy will offer its patrons, once it opens its doors to welcome guests in late 2013. The collaboration with world-renowned artists who have worked tirelessly to showcase the best of contemporary Thai and global art at the launch event gives the first taste of the many more collaborations to come. Central Embassy will not only be Asia’s new retail landmark but also a stage where local and international artists will come to play and exhibit their finest, most creative work.

Tonight’s event offers us a peek at Central’s past and what is going to be its future. Central starts its journey through a “Time Tunnel” that displays the story of the glorious past of the Central Group, starting in 1947 as a small bookshop, leading to the present, 2011, where it has expanded to become the leading department store chain in Thailand.

The time tunnel brings guests into a capacious hexagonal chamber exploding with vivid, dramatic shapes and colors. This space is the canvas for famous illustrator “Pomme Thatchamapan Chanchamratsang”, who has worked to transform this chamber into an experience of colors that are deep, sumptuous, sparkling, and practically alive. Her masterpiece is titled “Unfold”. Walking into the chamber feels like walking into a dream; surrounded by wave upon wave of Pomme’s trademark flowers and geometric shapes in all colors of the spectrum.

The chamber leads to another, this time “Seamless Tunnel” created to resemble the sinuous wave of shingles that will anchor and wrap the Central Embassy architectural design. The tunnel leads guests into a green space – the Central Embassy gardens. The final design of Central Embassy places great value upon green, verdant spaces with ornate trees and water features which will be an integral part of Central Embassy. The flowers chosen for this event are mainly local Thai flora in varying shades of purple and white – the primary colors used in the design of the building.

Legendary musician “Jerry Byrd” and Paris-based “DJ Cleo Le Tan”, both of whom have worked the biggest and best parties and concerts around the world, provide the entertainment for the evening and ensure the night will be ‘one of a kind’ for every guest. Pastry chef “Will Goldfarb”, one of New York’s finest and most celebrated chefs, has created a special and dazzling menu featuring such aptly named Thai-inspired desserts as Siamese Red, Thai Tattoo and many more.
