Starting and ending in Hatfield. True 1* ride: comfortable pace throughout. Overall 37 kms, with coffee after 14.5 kms at the Popin Cafe & Restaurant, and lunch after 28 kms in St. Albans, where we will be joined by a surprise guest! Venue tbc. Post lunch bail out option for those who overindulge lol is to return to London from St. Albans. Otherwise even more leisurely 9 kms back to Hatfield along the Alban Way.
Reasonably early start to allow for leisurely coffee and lunch stops: meet King's Cross 08:50 for the 09:06 (09:12 Finsbury Park) arr. 09:31 Hatfield. FP/60+ extension required from Hadley Wood.

Pack a snack as we’ll stop for a relaxed lunch beside the River Brett in the charming village of Chelsworth.
Take the 9:30 train from London Liverpool Street station, also stopping at Stratford at 9:38, arriving in Colchester at 10:17. We're back in Colchester around 15:30.
