A 60km, with 640m of ascent, circular ride from Oxted through the rolling hills of Surrey and Kent!
We may stop by the old yew tree in Crowhurst—thought to be about 4,000 years old—and the furnace pond in Cowden, before having lunch in Chiddingstone Hoath at The Rock Inn. After lunch we will continue to the Bough Beech Reservoir and pass through Edenbridge before closing the loop in Oxted. Possible tea stop at The Nook in How Green or in Edenbridge.
Mostly quiet country lanes and great views throughout!
Catch the 10:21 Southern train from London Victoria (bound for East Grinstead), arriving at Oxted for an 11:00 start.
Inbound trains back to London Victoria run direct from Oxted every 30 minutes at xx:29 and xx:59.

Take 09.27 train from Kings Cross to Stevenage arriving at 10:02, calling at Finsbury Park at 09.33, where the leader joins. Buy a return to Stevenage.

A shortish 55km loop from Harpenden on mainly quiet lanes and with 600m of mostly not too severe undulations. Lunch will be at 33km at the Red Lion in Preston, a community-owned pub since 1982 and the first to be so owned in Great Britain. Due to the short afternoon of 22km, there will not be a tea stop.


Meet at St Pancras for the 09.36 (likely to be platform B) to Harpenden arriving at 10.01.
