October 2017 Sweepstakes

2017-10-29T23:07:00.002-07:00

Enter These October 2017 Sweepstakes

We've all heard the saying, " You can't win if don't play." Those are exactly my feelings when it comes to online sweepstakes. That said, not all online sweepstakes are created equal.

Personally, I like the sweepstakes that don't require any additional actions, like the ones with offers you must complete just to enter the damn thing.

So I've found some sweepstakes that are the ones I like, they just require your contact information (they got to know where, and how to tell you you've won, right?), and sometimes youre demographics( age, birthday, sex ), but that's it.

*REMINDER* If you've downloaded the RoboForm app I suggested in earlier posts, this will be a breeze.

And I decided to share them with all of you. Good Luck

Get paid to do reviews for Software Judge

2017-10-22T03:02:00.000-07:00

Software Judge is a site that pays you for reviewing different types of software. They will pay you $50 for each review, with the ability to cash out at $200 with Western Union being the sites current method of payment, or you have the option to purchase software titles from their site as long as you have at least $20 in your account.

This site has some strict expectations and guidelines, heres an excerpt from the site where I feel they are very straight forward and say it best:

"If you have strong opinions about software, whether positive or negative, and want to get paid for your reviews, you are in the right place. We pay up to 50 dollars for tell-it-like-it-is, no marketing BS, straight talking software reviews.
HOWEVER, it can't be just ANY review for ANY software. We only accept HONEST reviews for software LISTED at SOFTWAREJUDGE.COM (the list isn't huge, but you can pick what you like).
Obviously, your review has to be damn good for us to pay you fifty bucks and not every reviewer is going to get that much for a single review. However, you get paid at least a buck for any review published here. Ten reviews – ten bucks. Twenty reviews – twenty bucks. You do the math. The better your work, the more money you get for writing fewer reviews.

Here are simple rules.
First. Submit only original reviews that you wrote personally. If we find out that there is a sentence that’s not yours (it’s very easy to find that out with Google), you won’t get paid. Even if you previously submitted top notch reviews that we really liked. We always run reviews through web search before paying you or buying software you requested.

Second. Don’t submit more than three reviews in one day. Better yet, submit one review and see if it gets published or not. If it does not get published, it’s not good enough and we don’t want to spend several hours a day reading crappy reviews. Not everybody is good at this. But you have to be good to get published. Also, don’t bother us if your English is very bad. It’s fine if you make some mistakes (we all do), but a person who only had two years of English classes in high-school or college isn’t someone who is qualified for this job.

Third. Besides freebies, like free reg keys and free games that we give away to best contributors, there are two ways you get paid. If you have $200 in your account, contact us via the form with the complete personal information necessary for us to send you the money. Right now the default method is Western Union, because money can be sent anywhere in the world in 15 minutes. Again, the minimum amount is $200 (two hundred dollars) because we don’t want to spend all our time in the bank. If you have at least $20 in your account, you can request any software, game or an e-book to be purchased. You pick any product you want that costs as much money as is currently available in your account (or less) BUT it has to be a DOWNLOADABLE. We don’t want to deal with shipping costs (we’ve got a few reviewers who live in Australia) or spend time finding out why your package never arrived. In this day and age, you can pretty much buy any software in downloadable form, just send us the link and we’ll get it for you. We won’t buy anything off eBay for the same reason – we don’t want to deal with merchants we can’t trust.

Finally. Don’t be stupid. Don’t review software that you never tried. Don’t say software is good, if it’s bad. Don’t try to write only positive reviews. And never, never do anything that’ll piss us off.

PAID TO WRITE POETRY

VQR Online: Pays $200 -strives to publish the best writing we can find. While we have a long history of publishing accomplished and award-winning authors, we also seek and support emerging writers.

Submission Guidelines:( site excerpt)

We only consider unpublished work. Please do not submit previously published material, including work published in anthologies, chapbooks, or online.

We only accept submissions online via Submittable. We do not accept submissions via e-mail or post.

Please read past issues of VQR before submitting your work so you have a clear sense of our editorial focus. A portion of every issue is freely available on the site.

Submissions are limited to one prose piece and four poems per reading period. Please group poetry into one submission. Multiple submissions in the same genre will be returned unread.

Simultaneous submissions are permitted.

If work you have submitted to us is accepted elsewhere, please notify us immediately. For prose submissions, please use your Submittable account to withdraw your submission. For poetry submissions, please use your Submittable account to add a note to your submission listing the titles of works no longer available .

Three Penny Review: $200

Submission Guidelines:( site excerpt) Currently not accepting any work until their "reading" period which starts January 1,2018
3. All online submissions must consist of a single document in Word format (.doc or .docx). If you are submitting prose, the document should consist of a single article or a single story. If you are submitting poetry, please group your poems into one document containing no more than five poems, because the online system will not accept more than a single document from each person. Please include your name and address somewhere on the document as well as in our submission form.
4. We do not print material that has previously been published elsewhere, and we emphatically do not consider simultaneous submissions. We do our best to offer a quick turnaround time, so please allow us the privilege of sole consideration during that relatively brief period; writers who do not honor this request will not be published in the magazine.
5. Response time for submissions can range from two days to two months. Please do not submit more than a single story or article, or more than five poems, until you have heard back from us about your previous submission. If you have not heard from us within a couple of months, you should assume that either your communication or ours has gone astray.
6. We strongly recommend that you stay within our length limits. Poetry 100 lines or less.We prefer to read prose submissions that are double-spaced; poetry can be single-spaced or double-spaced.
7. Emailed submissions will be discarded unread. The only two ways to submit work to us are through the mail and via our online system.
**There is a format your must follow that they have explained on the submissions page of the site. It is strongly recommended you take a look before submitting**

Boulevard Magazine: Pays $25 to $250 -strives to publish only the finest in fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. While we frequently publish writers with previous credits, we are very interested in less experienced or unpublished writers with exceptional promise

Submission Guidelines:( site excerpt)Accepting submissions from October 1 to May 1

Submit online through Submittable (link below). No email submissions will be read.
Include author's name and contact information on all submissions.
We allow simultaneous submissions, but please immediately withdraw work that has been accepted elsewhere.
We accept multiple submissions but wait at least a month between entries.
Work submitted must be previously unpublished, print and online.
Authors retain rights to their work from the time of publication in Boulevard.
Please no handwritten submissions.
Cover letters with previous credits are not required.
We accept international subscriptions, for both the general submissions and the contests.
Submissions must be in English.
Our average response time is four months. Please do not query before then.
Send only complete, fully proofread work. We will not consider revisions--this is too difficult administratively for our small staff.
For response include a SASE.
There is a $3 fee to submit online. There is no fee to submit by post.

Dreams and Nightmares: Pays $10 - a print magazine of science fiction and fantasy poetry

Submission Guidelines:( site excerpt)The genres of fantasy and SF are preferred. I am interested in experimental formats and content, and prefer fantastic horror a la Lovecraft or Blackwood to the blood and gore type. Any SF or fantasy is appropriate if it isn't sappy or trite. If your poem rhymes, be sure that the rhymes are not forced, and that the meter is consistent.

Grain Literary Magazine: Pays $40 to $70- the journal of eclectic writing, is a literary quarterly that publishes engaging, diverse, and challenging writing and art.

Submission Guidelines:(site excerpt)

Please adhere to the following guidelines and do not submit more than twice in one submissions period (third and subsequent submissions will neither be read nor returned). If you have work currently under consideration by Grain, please do not submit again until you have received a response to that submission. Grain has a nine-month submissions period which runs from September 1st to May 31st. Manuscripts received between June 1 and August 31 will be automatically rejected.Send typed, unpublished material only (we consider work published on-line to be previously published). Simultaneous submissions will not be considered. Please only submit work in one genre at one time.
Poetry: Individual poems, sequences, or suites up to a maximum of six pages.

Antigonish Review: Pays $30 - quarterly literary journal published by St. Francis Xavier University

Submission Guidelines(site excerpt)

1. TAR is open to poetry on any subject written from any point of view and in any form. However, writers should expect their work to be considered within the full context of old and new poetry in English and other languages.
2. The amount of space TAR can devote to any one writer is usually limited to 5-6 pages at a maximum.
3. No more than 6-8 poems should be submitted at any one time. A preferable submission would be from 3-4 poems. Submitting more than 8 tends to conceal the merits of individual poems. The poet should also know, fairly clearly, what is or is not good work and send only that.
4. Poets should wait for response to a submission before submitting again.
PLEASE NOTE we do not accept submissions which have been previously published in any format.

The Pedestal Magazine: Pays $40 - All things literary

Submission Guidelines(site excerpt)-For the December 2017 issue (Pedestal 81), editors will be accepting submissions of poetry. No restrictions on theme, style, length, or genre. Please submit up to five (5) poems and include all work in a single file. Open for submissions November 6 – December 3 (2017).

Arc Poetry Magazine: Pays $50 per page- feature poetry that is woozy, cunning, shearing and wildlike, and prose that offers new perspectives on the verse you thought you knew.

Submission Guidelines (site excerpt)
Arc accepts unsolicited submissions of previously unpublished poems, on any subject, in any form.

Poets may only submit once each calendar year.

Poetry submissions must not exceed 3 poems total.

Submissions must be typed and single spaced (double spaces will be interpreted as blank lines). Include your name, email address, and mailing address on each page.

Submit each poem in a separate document along with the poet’s biography. Your submission will be grouped together in our submission platform.

Biographical statements should be two to three sentences or approximately 50 words.

Arc will respond to unsolicited submissions of poetry, artwork, and article queries within four to six months. Arc can’t promise to respond to inquiries regarding the status of submissions before the completion of an editorial cycle.

The Capilano Review: Pays $50 to $150 - publishes art, poetry, and criticism that inhabit and reflect our challenging times, resist convention and excite response

Submission Guidelines(site excerpt)

We only accept submissions through Submittable during our open submission windows.

Please make only one submission per upcoming issue.

For poetry, send up to 5 pages, for reviews, a maximum of 600 words

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Pays $200 -Chicken Soup for the Soul, the world’s favorite and most recognized storyteller, publishes the famous Chicken Soup for the Soul book series.

Guidelines for a Chicken Soup for the Soul poem (site excerpt)
1. We love poems that tell a story. A Chicken Soup for the Soul poem does the same job as a story. The reader goes away having learned your story, just through poetry instead of prose.
2. We do not publish poems that do not tell a story.
3. We also do not publish poems that seem overly focused on rhyming and read more like greeting cards.

Orion Magazine: Pays $100 -The editorial impulse of Orion lies at the nexus of ecology and the human experience. The magazine distinguishes itself from the din of common culture through its depth of inquiry, commitment to interdisciplinary thought, and an emphasis on insight and imagination alongside a big-picture approach to problem-solving. Orion considers unsolicited poems that offer fresh insight into the intersection of nature, culture, and place.

Submission Guidelines(site excerpt)Poetry submissions are currently closed

Orion accepts submissions during designated submission windows only. We can consider only one submission per person, per submission window—additional submissions will not be accepted. Simultaneous submissions to other publications are acceptable, so long as they are labeled as such, and we ask that you notify us if your submission needs to be withdrawn from consideration at Orion

Please submit 1-3 poems (max. 40 lines/each) in 12 pt. font, single spaced. We encourage you to keep your cover letter brief, but ask that you include the title(s) of your submission as well as your contact information (including full name and e-mail address). We do our best to respond to submissions within three months, but, in some cases, the wait may be longer

Ploughshares: Pays $45 to $450 - published by Emerson College in Boston

Submission Guidelines(site excerpt) accept submissions to the journal from June 1, to January 15, at noon EST
We do not consider multiple submissions, so please send only one manuscript at a time, either by mail or online. Do not send a second submission until you have heard about the first.
We encourage you to include a short cover letter with your submission. It should reference:

Major publications and awards
Any association or past correspondence with a guest or staff editor
Past publication in Ploughshares

Rattle: Pays $50 for online submissions – $100 for print submissions- publishes unsolicited poetry and translations of poetry.

Submission Guidelines(site excerpt)Submissions are open year-round, always welcomed, and always free
Rattle does not accept work that has been previously published, in print or online (we do consider self-publishing to blogs, message boards, or Facebook as publication if it can be viewed publicly without login).
Simultaneous submissions are encouraged. If the work is accepted elsewhere, just add a note through Submittable, or, if you submitted in hard copy, call or email to let us know.

The Sun Magazine: Pays $100 to $200 - Quote from the editor as to what she is looking for:

“I’m looking for a writer who doesn’t know where her sentence is leading her; a writer who starts with her obsessions and whose heart is bursting with love; a writer sly enough to give the slip to her secret police, the ones with the power to condemn in the blink of an eye. It’s all right that she doesn’t know what she’s thinking until she writes it, as if the words already exist somewhere and draw her to them. She may not know how she got there, but she knows when she’s arrived.”

Submission Guidelines(site excerpt)
Surprise us; we often don’t know what we’ll like until we read it.
We rarely run anything longer than seven thousand words; there’s no minimum length.
We discourage simultaneous submissions.

Poetry Foundation: Pays $150 -We examine all work received and accept that which seems best. We consider original works written in the English language as well as translations of poetry into English.

Submission Guidelines(site excerpt)
We accept submissions year round. We ask that you do not make multiple submissions: please wait for a response to your submission before sending new work.
We will do our best to respond within seven months from the day of receipt, but are sometimes slower in responding. Please be patient! It is our goal to make sure each submission gets a good read. Adhering to our single submission of four poems or fewer at a time will help insure a timely response to your work.
Please ensure that you set your e-mail spam filter to allow mail from both poetryfoundation.org and poetrymagazine.org; otherwise notification regarding your submission may be marked as junk mail.

Crazy Horse: Pays $20 to $200- welcomes general submissions of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry from September 1st through May 31st, with the exception of the month of January, during which we only accept entries for the Crazyhorse Prizes, and the month of July, during which we only accept entries for Crazyshorts!, our annual short-short fiction contest

Submission Guidelines(site excerpt)
For poetry, please submit a set of 3-5 poems.

Crazyhorse aims to publish work that reflects the multiple poetries of the twenty-first century. While our taste represents a wide range of aesthetics, from poets at all stages of their writing careers, we read with a discerning eye for poems that demonstrate a rhetorical and formal intelligence—that is, poems that know why they are written in the manner that they are. We seek poems that exhibit how content works symbiotically with form, evidenced in an intentional art of the poetic line or in poems that employ or stretch lyric modes. Along with this, poems that capture our attention enact the lyric utterance through musical textures, tone of voice, vivid language, reticence, and skillful syntax. For us, overall, the best poems do not idly tell the reader how to feel or think, they engender feeling and thought in the reader.

We are happy to accept simultaneous submissions of poetry. Should any of the poems in your submission be accepted elsewhere while under consideration with Crazyhorse, please add a note to your submission to alert us that they are no longer available.

Survey Savvy's New Program SavvyConnect

Survey Savvy is one of my top survey sites I list here on my blog, and they just gave me another reason I like this site so much. Survey Savvy has a new program called SavvyConnect which provides its members with an additional way to get paid.

SavvyConnect is a app/program you install on your devices, be that your phone, laptop, tablet, and computer and each month Survey Savvy will pay you $5 for each device you have their SavvyConnect installed on.

You must be a member first, so sign up here, and then install SavvyConnect on all your devices. I don't know about you, but that's $25 extra dollars each month that I cash in on.

Also right now, I just received a survey invite, that has something to do with their SavvyConnect program which was worth $25 will by itself. It says the projects is still open, so hurry and sign up.

PaidViewpoint.com will pay you real money to take surveys

2017-10-11T16:40:00.002-07:00

PaidViewpoint.com is another great survey site that will pay you, they have paid me straight to my paypal account. PaidViewpoint.com is a little different than most survey sites, because no where during the surveys they send do they ask your name or your address. Im unsure of why, considering the research market thrives off deompgraphics, but really who cares right?

PaidViewpoint also has an different sign up process, as you initially enter your email, and they follow up by sending you an activation code to activate your account, and its not always right away, I got mine the day after I applied. Once your activated though, it takes you to a handful of demographics questions, the cool thing is that all those questions are paid questions, so youll be earning just by answering the basic questions, the other sites don't pay you anything for.

At the end there is a phone number verification, and once your done with that, youre ready to begin taking surveys.

This site sends survey invites often, and the user interface is one of the simplest to use. You MUST make sure you enter your paypal address you want to be paid to correctly, because if you change it at any time, it zeros your balance when updated.

Besides that, this site has been very easy to work with, they have some awesome invites, and pay out when they say they will.

This site will definitely be included on my "survey sites that really pay" page.

Heres the link to sign up.

Increase your survey offers instantly!

Increase your survey offers instantly!

Survey offers that are actually worth your time seem few and far between at times, at least that's how it went for me, when I started with the survey sites four years ago.

I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong, I had filled out everything correctly, but was only getting offers from survey sites that offer less then a dollar a survey!

Frusrated, I decided to go back into each site and contact the administration of each site, and inquire if I had done something incorrectly.

It wasn't long until the emails came back in response to my question, and the answer?

I had not filled ALL the profile sections out, or I had chosen not to answer questions that strengthen my chances of being included in certain demographics, which drastically lowered my chances of their programs including me in the offers available.

Never would I have thought refusing to answer questions that I considered silly, or just none of their business was making the programs overlook my profile, and in result making the whole survey taking path a complete waste of time.

So I decided to suck it up, and get over my privacy issues, as I was informed more than once, that the survey answered compiled, almost never include your face for the companies to put a name or face with.

After I fully completed my profile on Survey Savvy within the hour I received a survey offer for $7 for a 20 minute survey!
That's all I needed to be motivated to go update all my survey profiles.

Make money online by learning to code

Make Money Online by Learning to Code

Saving money, and finding extra ways to earn money online is a passion of mine, but recently I decided to step up my game, and do something Ive always wanted to do, and that is code.

And Im happy to say its going good, Im halfway through a certification course in front end design.

Ive been reading online that certifications rarely hold and weight in this industry, so I decided to research exactly what skills I would need to know to get a front end developer/designer job, and I stumbled upon an awesome article by Tomislav Kozačinski, Croatia called How a Single Front-End Engineer Can Replace a Team of Two. I think this article is probably the first one Ive found that provided me with an awesome walkthrough of the process of building a site from two different prespectives.

The design aspect, which coming from a background in the arts, is the direction I am heading. And the development process, which was the general information I had been searching for, to be able to grasp how I would be combining the two completely different processes.

So, thank you Tomislav Kozacinski for providing that FREE information that very helped clarify things for me and my journey into the web developer world, which by the way is one of the TOP ways to earn real money online.

3 ESSENTIAL TOOLS FOR ANY SURVEY TAKER

2011-02-01T05:54:00.000-08:00

* Its been awhile since I posted this VERY important blogpost, and these three little steps are so HUGE in regards to making money online with the methods I post, and to helping save yourself ALOT of time and energy, at the very beginning of applying to many of this sites. Not to mention the fact that with these three steps all working together, AND all having the same email address linked to each account, you won't have to worry about any LOST payments, which is never a good thing, right? Right!

Three Essentials for Making Money Online

Roboform: This is probably the one of the most time saving downloads you will ever need on your online journey to money. Because of all the sites you will be applying to, this download allows you to save your personal information, securely on your computer. And when a form needs to be filled out, a simple press of a button, and instantly you are done. Now only if it had a demographics page you could save, oh well, maybe in the future.

Paypal: This is another MUST HAVE in the online money making world. There are alot of sites that will only pay you through paypal. The only thing you need to remember is to set up a paypal account with the email address of the email account you set up just for your surveys.

Hotmail: I personally have a Hotmail account. It has the best options when it comes to filtering emails into special folders, and its new "Sweeps" option is great. It allows you to erase all contents in a folder, which is great if your account accumulates thousands of emails, like mine.

TIPS ON IMPROVING YOUR SURVEY RESULTS

1)Answer as many personal questions in the application as possible. The more these companies know about you, the more often you will qualify and be invited to participate.

2)Do your best to answer honestly! These companies have extensive experience in working with participants and will eliminate people who lie on their applications and evaluations. Trying to "beat the system" will only hurt your chances of qualifying.

3)Set up a dedicated e-mail for your cash paid survey opportunities, you'll want to have a separate email account as you will get a LOT of new emails. So set up a DEDICATED EMAIL account and use it for your cash paid survey opportunities. New e-mail accounts are easy to setup and this will make managing and monitoring the various cash paid survey opportunities a lot easier. If you do want to make money online then you will need to be organized. If you don't have an e-mail account for this you can open a FREE account by going to Yahoo.com or Hotmail.com. (PERSONALLY, HOTMAIL HAS THE BEST FEATURES FOR A SURVEY EMAIL, THEY HAVE A GREAT FILTER OPTION, AND YOU CAN ERASE A BIG QUANITY OF EMAILS AT A TIME, WHICH IS VERY TIME SAVING...TRUST ME!)

4)Check your e-mail regularly for cash paid survey Opportunities, If you are serious and want to make money online from cash paid surveys, then you MUST CHECK YOUR E-MAIL at least ONCE or TWICE A DAY. You won't want to miss any cash paid survey opportunities to make money. The market research companies will stop sending you survey opportunities if you are slow to respond, never respond, or if their notifications are returned as undeliverable. But, that's not to say you have to take part in all the cash paid survey opportunities that you get offered. It is entirely over to you which of the survey opportunities you act on.

5)Clean your inbox regularly for cash paid survey opportunities if you are to make money online then you MUST keep your email inbox clean and able to receive email survey opportunities AT ALL TIMES. Having a separate email account will make this job easier and help you to stay organized by keeping your cash paid survey opportunities separated from your other emails.

6)Don't block cash paid survey opportunities this might sound a little bit strange, but you should TURN OFF your spam blocker for this particular email account. Spam blockers will keep emails for GOOD cash paid survey opportunities from reaching you. The problem is that this will happen invisibly and you won't ever know that you missed the cash paid survey opportunities. Losing even ONE survey opportunity could be a lost chance to make money online.

7)Despite that one little negative, the problems associated with cash paid surveys are only minor when compared to running a regular business. The main thing is to be organized so you can minimize or avoid any potential problems.

8)Treat this as a business, remember when you have a profile with 50 or 60 survey companies you will receive plenty of invitations to make this a part time business or a full time business if you prefer.

9)There are lots of excellent cash paid survey opportunities and they ARE a quick and easy way to make money online. TO KEEP UP-TO-DATE WITH THE VARIOUS WAYS TO ONLINE $$ MAKE SURE TO JOIN OUR SITE, AND/OR CHECK BACK FREQUENTLY..THANKS

10)Download Roboform, one of the most time saving downloads you'll EVER come across in this survey business!
