Kickstarter Video for Eclipse Chocolate

Well, it’s all over except for the funding. Actually that’s done too. Will contacted me for help on a little side project he had going called the “Eclipse Chocolate Winter 2012 Grand Expansion”. Not to swing hammers (fortunately for me) but rather to shoot and edit a video that would convince people to give him great sums of money to do what he does best – make delicious chocolate. And it worked, but I think it’s more due to the rewards rather than anything I did.

US Ambassadors Visit San Diego Chamber of Commerce and Qualcomm

This was the first time I was ever in the San Diego Chamber of Commerce. I’ve been to Qualcomm several times but this was the first time I ever got the official tour. It was to cover the arrival of three US ambassadors:

Daniel L. Shields – Brunei
David Adelman – Singapore

This is part of an ongoing series that celebrates the American Craftsmen (and women). These are the people who have struck out on their own to find their version of the american dream. I photograph them in the tintype process that was popularized here in the 1850′s. If you’ve seen photos of civil war soliders then you’ve probably seen a tintype.

Brian’s Farmers Markets

This is Brian. He spends his days organizing a means to unite farmers with buyers. He’s quite a jovial guy but when he’s in front of the camera something happens, he clams up. So the question is how do you get someone to loosen up? Throw vegetables at him of course. It gives a sense of context and also reminds me how much fun food fights were as a child.

Fast Food Unwrapped – Ongoing Project

I grew up in a small town in the middle of Iowa. In this town I watched fast food used as a means to placate screaming children – myself included. These high calorie foods are now a source of comfort for adults who instill the same bad habits in their children. This epidemic is sending this country’s weight up and health down.

What I’ve done here is single out a few of the various gross offenders and present them in all their glory. So here they are the highest calorie single entrée item from the big chains. Keep in mind this is an ongoing project and more will be added later.
