Hi, Everyone!Hartmut Kristen of Porsche shares details about the Porsche 918 RSR Hybrid in this video. Porsche unveiled the RSR racing variant of their 918 Spyder at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The RSR is powered by a 563- horsepower gasoline V8-engine driving the rear wheels, with dual electric motors driving the front, instead of being a plug-in hybrid. Power to the electric motors is provided by a fly-wheel accumulator Kinectic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) that sits beside the driver in the passenger area, and boosts the total power to 767-horsepower for up to eight seconds when fully charged!

Wow! This a powerful and beautiful automobile! Isn't that what we expect of a Porsche? I like the overall appearance of the car, a lot. However, a creamy pearl color is what I'd choose for the exterior of my own. I appreciate the view of the top of the car and the view of it when it spins on the platform. No matter which angle you view it from, it gorgeous. I think this may be the most exquisite Porsche I've seen, to-date; really outstanding car design!

Hello, Everyone! In this video Bugatti's Engineering Chief, Wolfgang Schreiber shares details about the Bugatti Veyron. The Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is a rear mid-engined supercar. It is priced at $2,600,000, which makes it the most expensive modern car in the world . With a top speed of 267.85 mph (431.07 km/h), the Super Sport version is the fastest, road-legal car in the world! The original version has a top speed of 253.52 mph (408.00 km/h).

The Veyron was designed and developed by the German Volkswagen Group and produced by Bugatti Automobiles SAS at their headquarters at Château St. Jean in Alsace, France. The Veyron's Chief Designer was Hartmut Warkuss, the exterior was designed by Jozef Kabaň of Volkswagen, and a lot of the engineering work was done under the guidance of Wolfgang Schreiber.

More Interesting Bugatti Facts
This Bugatti is named after the French race-driver Pierre Veyron. He's the one that won the 24-hours Le Mans in 1939, while racing for the original Bugatti company. Also, the Bugatti was named "Car of the Decade" (2000–2009) by the BBC television program 'Top Gear'.

Two targa tops are part of a number of special variants that have been produced for this car. In December 2010, Bugatti began offering prospective buyers the ability to customize exterior and interior colors by using the Veyron 16.4 Configurator application on Bugatti's official website. With the Configurator set for 'Exterior Colours' you can choose from a large range of colors for: 'Single Tone', 'A/B Split', 'Horizontal Split' and 'Pur Sang'. My favorite color is 'Polar M' for 'Single Tone'. My choice for 'A/B Split' is 'Bronze M' with 'Light Gold M'. For 'PurSang', I like the same combination of 'Bronze M' and 'Light Gold M', as well as 'Light Gold M' with 'Chocolate M'. With the Configurator set for 'Interior Colours' there are four categories to choose from, 'Option 1', 'Option 2', 'Option 3', and 'Option 4':

With 'Option 1' there's one row of many colors to choose from; the interior will be one color that you select.
With 'Option 2' there are two rows of numerous colors to choose from; the steering wheel and dashboard will be one color and the door panels another color (your choice).
With 'Option 3' there are two rows of numerous colors to choose from; the Bugatti's steering wheel and dashboard will be one color, and the door panels and back seats will change to the other color you choose.
With 'Option 4' there are two rows of several colors to choose from; you can watch the Bugatti in the Configurator to see what changes colors.

After trying the Veyron 16.4 Configurator out with several color combinations, I can tell you it has become another one of my favorite applications. It is a very nice tool for customizing the color(s) of your future Bugatti. If you've already tried it out, you know how nice it is. If you haven't tried it, you should go on over to the Configurator and select the colors of your Bugatti! I imagine you will really like using it. Also, while there, you can check out the ingenious innovations and technology of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport and Super Sport.

Using Ifttt to Make the Web Do What You Want

Hello, Everyone! In the following video, Ifttt Founder Linden Tibbets, shares how his web app allows users to connect the APIs of various services together in order to set-up automatic response actions from one service to another. 'Ifttt' is shorthand for the phrase "if this, then that". For example, if one service does this, then the other service will do that. Ifttt is in the private-beta stage of development right now. Tibbets' premier blog post is a great source for more information about Ifttt; I enjoyed it. I think Ifttt will become another valuable tool, if all goes well with it. I'm looking forward to its launch.

McLaren's New Tech-Savvy Sports Car

Hello, Everyone! Morgan Brennan, Forbes New York, talks with Frank Stephenson, Design Director McLaren Automotive and Anthony Joseph, Director for North America McLaren Automotive about the assets / features of the new McLaren MP4-12C sports car, by the elite race car maker.

In the video we get a look at McLaren's first, ever, production vehicle. As Stephenson states, "The whole concept was to develop a race car that has street-car legislation incorporated; a car that could very easily be tuned for the race track, yet is legal for the road." McLaren Automotive is preparing to release this production sports car this summer (2011). And it is gorgeous-beautiful! (my own hyphenated creation).

This mid-engine Formula One inspired MP4-12C weighs approximately 200lbs less than other cars and drives easily at 200mph. However, what makes this two-seater stand out, even more, is the technology:

Handle-less doors that only open with finger-tip sensors
Installed cameras that record your drive
A single windshield wiper that cleans better than two
The carbon-fiber tub, which is the heart of this car rather than the engine
Controls design inspired by the Apple iPod - the Touch-sensitive screen

Initially, production of only 1000 cars is planned, with 35% coming to North America. The McLaren MP4-12C costs approximately $225,000 to $250,000. This is one of the most visually-attractive cars I've ever seen. The technology, of course, is another asset of the MP4-12C. It is, to say the least, a 'brainy-beauty'!

Two of my favorites, Martha Stewart Living and Adobe, have joined forces to create an exceptional digital magazine (tablet edition) experience. If you haven't seen it yet, I think you'll be amazed at the combination of beauty, functionality and great content all designed with the reader/user in mind! I appreciate what I've seen of it, so far! Before this Adobe-developed digital edition of Martha Stewart Living magazine, I had no interest in the iPad!

Twitter Allows Video Embeds from Brightcove

Hello, Everyone! As many of you know, already, a new version of Twitter was launched in September. At that time selected, beta-version users were able to embed YouTube and Vimeo videos. As of last week, Brightcove was authorized by Twitter to have their videos embedded, as well. In the following video Brightcove's Jeff Whatcott, Marketing SVP, talks about the oppotunities for video publishers to share on Twitter. He mentions that:

~ On Twitter, the publisher's custom, branded player (plus advertising) is what shows
~ To add a video, the publisher can copy and paste the video's un-shortened URL into a Twitter post and the player is created when the Twitter post is published.

I already love using 'New Twitter' because of the logical link structure (including the way linked pages open up, now), the new design layout of most of the pages (which, among other things, makes more of a user's background visible); the overall increase in user-friendliness!

Being able to share video via Twitter posts, without having to go off-Twitter to do so, makes Twitter/'New Twitter' even more user-friendly and delightful to communicate with and share content through. Video embedding on Twitter is another reason to enjoy using 'New Twitter'!

YouTube introduced its new living room play "YouTube Lean Back" in anticipation of the launch of Google TV this fall, on Wednesday, July 7, 2010.

The service is available in beta online and will be built into Google TV. Daisy Whitney, BEET.TV Senior Producer, landed an exclusive video interview with YouTube's Interface Designer Julian Frumar, last Wednesday. They discussed the company's plans to expand Lean Back beyond Google TV and into consumer electronics devices from manufacturers.

"In addition to the partnership opportunities, Lean Back is also designed to be a simpler way to watch YouTube videos on the TV. The service is more intuitive and can recommend personalized videos for users. It can be used in a browser or via a connected TV. Users navigate solely with the keyboard's arrow keys." ~ BEET.TV
