Woah. How far has hair dying technology come since we all first started dying our hair? I think I started in about yr 7, which is… in the year 2000.

Since I can remember, I’ve watched my mum dye her hair endlessly – maybe every few months – with Henna, with burgundys, with reds, with blacks… I knew when I was “old enough”, I would definitely have to follow her footsteps.

When I hit the age of 13, I remember starting with “Sun In” – it was one of my favourite products because it caused no mess, but would allow your hair to slowly lighten. Then I realized how dry my hair got after a few applications, so I resorted to using box hair dyes… and I’ve come a long way from there.

Testing professional DIY hair colours, to foam hair dyes, to semi-permanents, to Fudge hair colour… I’ve tried everything.

In the end, they all resulted with dry split ends.

At age 24 (which is really only a few months ago, hehe), I decided to STOP dying my hair to grow out all of my dry split ends and chop them off.

BUT.. this all changed.. when Garnier introduced their Garnier Olia range. “Garnier Olia is the 1st home hair colour powered by oil” – INSTEAD of ammonia. The formula uses ODS technology by using four flower oils – camellia, sunflower, passionflower and limnanthes alba to propel colour deep into the hair fibre!

This means….

NO MORE DRY ENDS!

I will be putting this to the test really soon and I want you guys to follow my first hair dying session in a long, long time!

There.. may have been some sort of misunderstanding, but I still think it was quite rude for you to attack me as such. But that’s okay, because we are all entitled to judgement.

So these are my comments in my defense. I was not “against” the girl in the last but just “disagreed” with how she had layered on make up after having such a break out.

I believe that there could have been many ways to go out – such as wearing a face mask and glasses or a cap or even taking some time off work/school to treat the condition (which I believe she had already). I understand that it’s DIFFICULT to feel confident to go out and it must have been a hard time for her, but in no way am I trying to give her a hard time – but rather just saying that I disagree with the fact that she had put on “non-organic/mineral” makeup, which could have CAUSED her to break out further. Actually in fact, I only advised my readers to “ensure” they look at the products they are using are organic or mineral to prevent further irritations and break outs.

I also have had bad skin (refer to previous post) and I can relate to how painful it is inside and out.

HOWEVER, through experience, I think I am confident to say that I disagree with covering acne with more make up. I would much rather have people stare at me on the streets whilst wearing a face mask, big glasses and a cap than create more break outs with wearing more makeup which could possibly inflame my acne and in the worst case scenario cause scarring. But of course, that is ME and my PERSONAL OPINION. You do not have to agree.

I have recently read a blog post on another beauty blogger who has also had a really bad break out. You can refer to this article or click on the image below.

Although this girl has had such a bad experience, she focused on treating it day by day – rather than hiding it behind heavy foundation and concealer. She also gave her friend’s wedding a miss because she did not want to wear heavy makeup for the event. I proud of her for that.

Having bad skin can really stress you out and you can really start to see the world in a different light but like every problem in life, the most important solution is to “fix it”/”treat it”.

Of course I do hope that both girls will or have healed from their skin condition, but my argument is just simply that I do not agree with putting on make up during a break out so if you do not agree, then feel free to continue using products to irritate your skin, but I hope the rest of you will understand my side of the argument and realise that my blog post had nothing to do with “hating” on that girl.

Actually, I saw it about a week ago and posted it on my facebook page, but this is for those who didn’t see it!

I’ll say “angry” because it upsets me that girls.. I don’t want to generalise, so “some women” cannot take care of their skin properly.

I’ll let you watch this video before I proceed with my thoughts.

First of all, I want to stress the importance of taking care of your skin. It makes me cringe at the sight of women tugging onto their lower eyelids or rubbing their face with a harsh towel!!!

Back in November last year, I broke out quite badly. I started to stress about my skin and I made the mistake of caking on more concealer and foundation to cover up the flaws. As a consequence, I ended up breaking out even more than I had. And ofcourse because of this, I started to stress even more, and my skin had just turned into chaos.

This is a photo at the time it was the worst! I’m not afraid to put it up because I felt the need to tell others out there I don’t have perfect skin either!

I had cling wrap over my face because I was about to do “fraxel lite” – which will be covered in another blog post.

After seeing a dermatologist, I was recommended to use “less” rather than “more”. The use of “natural” products was also really important to ensure you do not clog up your pores, or infect the already existing acne. I listened to every word my dermatologist had told me, and now.. months later, my skin looks like… this.

Both photos are taken with the Iphone camera and yes, in the second photo I had some form of make up on, but it was only BB cream – which gives very little coverage. There is obviously still scarring but you can see that the surface of the flaws is quite flat compared to before.

I will blog more on my “acne break out” skin care routine and what I did to make it better in just a couple of months.

In the meantime, TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN.

Don’t peak! Don’t scroll down!!

Okay.. you might be able to see it infront of you anyway (if your screen is as big as my 24″ iMac screen). I’ve uploaded a new video! HELLO!

Not too exciting because it’s not a “tutorial”, yes yes, I’m getting to that, but it’s a haul video? *clap clap*

Let me introduce.. PLNDR.

PLNDR is the sister website of Karmaloop and is an exclusive “member’s only” area for Karmaloop customers! The concept is much like Ozsale, BrandsExclusive, and I’m sure many other websites out there. But the good thing with PLNDR is that it focuses on fashion.

The items I chose:

1. As Sweet As Sin dress ($44.99) – Size S

3. The Jack Ring in Silver ($36.00) – Size 7

4. The Made with Love Ziggy Tank Top ($19.98) – Size S/M

5. The Tell It to the Rain Top in Vanilla & Ivory ($27.00) – Size S

My thoughts?

I go into more detail in the video but in a few basic words, I think the site is “trendy”, “fun”, “affordable”. I will definitely repurchase.

My favourite pieces were definitely selection 6 – The Midnight Lullaby Playsuit in Chevron Print and selection 5 – The Tell It to the Rain Top in Vanilla & Ivory.

Which girl’s eyes don’t sparkle at the sight of glitter? Since I was 5, I’ve been a collector of glitter nail polish. But I can still remember all the nights I’ve spent trying to file and rub off the glitter with acetone. Not fun.

When Face of Australia introduced their Limited Edition line, Glitteri, I knew I couldn’t resist.

To be honest, I’m pretty anal about my glitter polishes. After owning so many, from cheapo brands to Butter Londons and OPIs, I’ve realised that there really is a huge amount of difference in quality! But it’s really a hit or a miss. I’ve also learnt to analyse the bottle of polish carefully and inspect the size of the glitters prior to purchasing!

The reason why I’m so over the moon with this new line of Face of Australia polishes is because it is just the perfect size of glitter.

My favourite.. is Disco Inferno.

With large specks of purple, red and blue glitters of different shapes and sizes, Disco Inferno is best topped over a darker polish! The pictures below really do not justify how much the glitter really shines!

About two months ago, I started a series of Advice posts for my readers who wanted to send me questions to reach out for my opinion – about anything! As a result, 100% of the questions I seemed to have received were about relationships. Through that experience, I realised how much “romantic relationships” have taken over young adult’s minds (I assume my readers are about ages 14-25).

Romantic relationships have taken such a large part of our lives that many girls (or boys) have even gone to the path of thinking about suicide for their failed relationships. I.. for one, am absolutely against this. Now, let’s talk more about this and share our experiences together to make sure no one follows the same path as us.

Do not let your partner cross the line (XTL).

Not just for girls, but also for boys. Naturally, women are ultra sensitive and we can also go overboard sometimes. It’s important to keep this in mind.

It’s ok for your boyfriend to raise their voice at you if the TV is on and he is on the other side of the room. But it is not ok if he throws a fork at you to get your attention.

It’s ok for your partner to fistbump you. But it is not ok if he punches you on any part of your body when he is angry. Whether you get bruises or not, it is not okay.

I’m sure we’ve all experienced or heard of an experience of an abusive relationship. Sometimes, it may not just be physcially abusive, but it could also be emotionally abusive, or vocally abusive.

Any of these abusive actions are able to make you feel “worse off” in the relationship and are therefore classified as XTL.

It’s always hard to bring up a past experience that has traumatised you.. but I think it’s necessary to face the past and be able to talk about it. It is good to talk about your experiences with others who may have shared the same kind of experience.. it’s always easier when you know you’re not alone.

We’ve all gone through bad break ups. I had a particular bad one.

I mean.. we were all young and silly at one time of our lives. We meet the wrong person, love the wrong person.. and when we realise it, we try to leave, and that’s when we get stuck. No break ups are easy. If it’s easy, deep feelings were never involved.

For me.. I had a very loving “summer-love-story” – but it lasted a lot longer than a Summer. I was 16 or 17 when I met him and we shared almost every minute possible together. We sneaked into the library to play and laugh, we sneaked into golf courses to cuddle, we sneaked into schools near my house to just sit around and talk, we climbed on rooftops to watch the stars, we… did amazing.. and ofcourse romantic but childish things together. And never was there a moment.. where I felt.. unloved.

We took hundreds and thousands of selfies together each day. We were young and poor, but we were able to purchase the sweetest and cutest little gifts with minimal money.

We were so perfect together..

When we both graduated from highschool, we went our separate ways. I started to hang around a new crowd at university and he left highschool and started to work. We had very different perspectives of how our life would be in the future. I turned 18, and I just wanted to have fun. He started to settle down because highschool was all the fun he had, and started to try to lock me down.

As an 18 year old girl who had just started uni and started to make all these new friends who ran clubbing communities, and dance classes, and other societies, I refused. Again and again, I refused to stay home, I refused to spend every minute possible together.. and we started to drift…

Immediately, he started to feel like he was losing me. With the love story we shared, he refused to believe that I wanted to spend time with my own friends, and I wanted to spend time with other people but him! He started to..

XTL

Now.. lucky for me, I had very loving friends and family who supported me.

He continuously threatened to do things to me had I left him, he waited around my house and my workplace to find me and talk to me.. When I had refused to stay with him, he would punch the wall and shout at me. I was frightened.

As an 18 year old girl who had just stepped into adulthood, I had no idea what to do. With the threatening, with the stalking, with the hundreds of calls I’d receive in a day…

I knew there was only one thing to do. I called 000 (for those who are not in Australia, 000 is the national police line). In the end, I commenced an AVO against him, and decided not to go ahead and we worked things out from there and are now actually friends again.

But the moral of the story is to “reach out to someone when someone else has XTL”

We need to reach out for help when someone else has XTL. We need to educate our friends and family – especially the young ones – to reach out for help. It’s not easy to be brave enough to tell someone what’s happened to us. It’s never easy to reach out for help but with the hundreds and thousands of helplines available in each country, with the hundreds and thousands of people we have who care for us every day, it is necessary.

If you have a story you’d like to share, please tell me in the comment box.

If you are in a situation where someone else has XTL, you can reach out to me.

I’m actually a little embarrassed that I haven’t blogged for such a long time. I want to have the perfect reason, but I don’t.. so I have come back with a Do-it-Yourself tutorial!!

Since purchasing hundreds of false lashes from Taiwan, I’ve realised that most of the ones I purchased are quite natural! I’m not a big fan of “thick thick” lashes because I feel like it drops my eyes down or looks really “fake”, but on occasions where you want to bring a little more attention to your eyes, the typical natural lash just isn’t enough.

This technique will also work for volumising your old false lashes which you’ve probably worn for about a week or two, and really need some freshening up!

It’s really a simple idea really, and I’ve definitely talked about it in my videos or posts before. The “doubling” technique.

By using this technique, you can upgrade the most simplest lashes to look more perky.

Lots of us spend hundreds on our favourite “style” of eyelashes, but we do not realise that these could be easily made ourselves with the hundreds of lashes we do not use.

Let me show you what I mean.

I’m taking the below two types of lashes.

The first box is a box I purchased from Taiwan. These lashes are extremely nice as they are long and really bring out the eyes, but after a few wears, I realised they didn’t have any volume in them. It was just long. I wanted to make a pair of lashes that would help my eyes stand out with miminal eyeliner and eyeshadow.

The second box is a box I purchased from Ebay. I’ve had a few of these sets of lashes for a long time. They were cheap but the band is stiff and really hard to wear. They would keep poking my eyes and I really did not find much use for them.

Our first step is to take the cheap ebay lashes and snip it in 3. I use a nail clipper because I find that it’s easier to cut. Ofcourse you can choose to use anything from a pair of kitchen scissors to a pair of nose hair clippers. ^O^

The step is to choose your piece. I like more volume in the centre because I feel like that creates more of a dolly (larger looking) eye. I know many of you may like more volume on the outer corner to create more of a sultry (sexy looking) eye so feel free to use the outer third of the lash.

I chose the middle piece.

Although this is a very simple technique, many people do not actually remember to “bend” the two lashes together. This will help to blend the lashes to help the lashes look more realistic and less “chunky”. It is almost to do so whilst it’s drying because once the lashes are dry, they will be stuck and will be hard to alter.
