Just over a year ago Little Mix became the first ever group to win the X Factor, and the girls have already set their sights on world domination: Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade have travelled across the Atlantic in an attempt to crack America.

I've been sick for a week and needed some fresh air so I texted my friend Rosemary if she wanted to accompany me to the park and do a really quick shoot. I did this to feel better and also have some girl time with her. Rosie makes me smile and her persona is so much fun. She has a great sense of style. She knows how to mix and match pieces that reflect her vibe. She's super.

My love for analog has been quite the obsession. Really happy that my ass became more involved in it than ever before. I run a site off campus, Queen of Anti-social. It's a photo diary of the things that I encounter. I don't ever get to showcase all the talented analog photographers and that there are others who share the same passion. So- I'll be incorporating it on Chainsaws and Jelly. The main purpose for this site is to introduce those talents, remember?

Why analog? I'm not trying to neglect the digital age, it's really beautiful. You see it everywhere. It's used the most. But there's just a difference with film and how it translates. The waiting for the outcome, patience, the disappointments and rewards. Let alone, all that money being spent! Still, that's some groovy love.

Anyway enough of the long nerdy talk. Camera Creeps hail from Los Angeles, California. 5 different photographers, styles, and cameras but all so dope.

In one day and one hour, these rusty cans will be up for purchase. Limited edition hand cut stencil spray cans.

"I first started working with rusty spray cans about 14 years ago but just recently (about three years ago) started knocking out the cans in this style. The concept for this ongoing series came about after one of my excursions to a well known graffiti spot in Downtown Jersey City. I discovered all of these discarded cans and thought to myself, 'This tool gave us life and here we are just discarding it's empty vessel.' So the idea was to harvest these rusty cans and give life back to them so that maybe they could be remembered again." - Ian Kuali'i

Mind Games. Everyone plays them, mostly with themselves. Black Scale brings out their long-time fam DJ Synapse, for their April mix to bring you Mind Games. These are the Mind Games of DJ Synapse, a New York stalwart, and brand developer of 15 years. The songs in this mix were blended live with two Technics, a Rane mixer and Pioneer EFX-500 box. The songs were completely new to Synapse when he mixed them, so it’s an improvisational affair. After blending the songs (22 in 30 minutes), Synapse laid his cut, paste and scratch flavor, to the mix, something he has always been known for. These Mind Games are an attempt at a new way of looking at mixing.

Welcome to the brave and dynamic = BAD PEGASUS

Stevie Lee isn't new here. She's been around for a while. Mister Lee, La, and I got the chance to work with her this past weekend. It was hella fun and we got to know Stevie a bit more. This talented lady has been dancing, singing, and creating at an early age. For this shoot - a lot of the inspiration came from 'Paris Is Burning' and a bit of 'Selena'.

We also got to hear Stevie's upcoming album which we will keep hush hush until the time comes.

BUT. I . WILL. SAY. THIS.

It was truly an amazing project. Stevie basically did her whole album on her own as far as producing, mixing , and all that jazz! She really showed her style and I love originality.

Miss Kali Uchis was kind enough to do a quick polite convo with me. I featured her as Ear Jelly last Wednesday, if you haven't checked that post out - Ear Jelly | Kali Uchis. Now peep below to get to know a bit about her.

Recently downloaded your mixtape - 'Drunken Babble' and is currently on repeat. You have such a dreamy, chill voice and vibe to your sounds. I did a bit of research and you - sing, rap, produce and you also made your videos. A one woman army, I like. How did you get started or what inspired you to this mixtape?

Thank you! I've been making songs since I was little, just playing the piano and writing lyrics as a creative outlet. Once I got my computer I started messing around with sampling old music and figuring out how to go on different beats. I have about 10 notebooks full of lyrics and drawings that came out of it. Recording and putting it all together was like having a live journal to me; it was really personal and I never showed it to anyone. Deciding to put out the mix-tape was really just me deciding not to keep to myself anymore and let go of that piece of my life.

How would you describe your personality? Do you try to translate that to your music?

I'd say my music is completely associated with my personality and my experiences with life.

On your day off - what does Kali like to indulge in?

Most of the time I'm doing something involved with music. I love putting things together, collaging, customizing clothes. If it's really nice outside I like to cruise in my car, smoke, go skating or biking, eat some good food. That's when I'm in VA.

You are currently in VA. Where are you originally from?

I was born in Virginia and I moved to Colombia, where my family is originally from, when I was three. The plan was to live there for the rest of my life, but I ended up coming back to America when I was seven.

Any upcoming projects?

I like to stay busy; to name a few things right now I definitely got some singles coming up, a short film, and a music video for one of my new singles shot in Florida.

Listening to your beats/instrumentals on your mixtape - I can hear a lot of different genres of music. What or who are you currently vibin' to? Anyone particular have a big influence on your sound?

Leo Dan, Vicky De Colombia, and Beto Villena to name a few. Of modern artists I love Azelia Banks, Twin Sister and Dom Kennedy.

As we end this convo - is there a certain mantra you go by?

Never doubt or fear what will become of you. The only one who can save us is ourselves.
