I tend to gravitate towards the peculiar and love clothing that are simple, flowing, and of course black.

Why you are creepy?: "Well, for starters, you sleep with your eyes wide open." - my fiance Mickey's response when I asked him what makes me creepy.

Anthony Pereira is a brother, a cousin..he is family. A driven and passionate artist and tattoo artist from NJ. You see NJ has so many talented hidden people and Chainsaws & Jelly always tries to display them in the mix of others. Today's muse is a bit different because I've featured many creative women in the past. For me, muses are all creative beings.

How'd you get into tattooing?

I got into tattooing first and foremost through my art. I have been drawing forever, but the first time I ever saw a well done tattoo I knew- this was exactly my calling. I quit my job and began my apprenticeship at Industrial Art in Harrison that lasted about a year. I am very grateful to all the guys at Industrial Art for teaching, motivating and challenging me. I love what I do, I like interpreting my client's ideas and developing a life long piece of art that represents them. I do this because I love the art down to the aesthetics of tattooing.

What do you enjoy most about the art form?

What I like most about the art form is the freedom and developing aspect. I can take any idea, process it in my mind and express it on paper then onto the body.

How would you describe your style?

In regards to my style, I am heavily influenced by Japanese art and American traditional. I am so inspired by Japanese art because of the culture and meanings behind each masterpiece. Everything about Japanese art appears to be free flowing and naturally fluid- it looks amazing and complimenting with the natural shape & curves of the human body. Now, as for American traditional what is there to not love about the perfect simplicity of each image. Anything that is imaginable can be transformed into a traditional piece of art. American traditional pieces make for long lasting tattoos that look just as good years later as it did on the first day.

Do you have a favorite tattoo artist?

There are so many artists that are ridiculously talented!!!!! I am inspired by so many but just to name a few: Shige , Mike Rubendall , Russ Abbott.

What did you like about the photoshoot?

I loved that it was personal and intimate. It was a humbling experience to have others be interested in what I do. I got to work with awesome people while doing what I love. Big shout out to you Wiggie, you've known me from even before the beginning of this journey and I thank you for always having faith and believing in me.

I stumble upon a lot of crappy shit and I love when I encounter originality. When I saw 'Yo Nikko' I can't get enough and look forward to more of his photos.

I've seen Nikko in action with an awesome film camera that takes multiple shots which creates the perfect template for some gif animations. I love point and shoots.

So simple but the outcome is always aces.

Dudes, I listened to the whole entire album in full without skipping. I even ran on the treadmill with it and this morning listened to it again. There are many reasons why I respect the album because Cidada x Eibol keep it humble with the lyrics and production. Nothing to flarey, nothing to hypebeast, just good ass music. Below you can read a little bit about the duo. I'll also attach the link for the free download.

"The story of Cidida x Eibol begins in the summer of 2006 while interning at Chung King, the pair squatted in an unused loft on the studio’s 11th floor. Every night after sessions they would write, record, and mix songs, which would begin the process that would later drive “Ludwig, Can You Hear Me?” Eibol had just wrapped up a nationwide tour for his self-written, self-produced release “Karma Kingdom” and was eager to get back into the studio, where he became an in-house engineer and further expanded his production techniques.

After gaining notoriety on BET’s Freestyle Friday, where he went undefeated for seven weeks, and appearing on both Terry Urban and Mick Boogie’s “The Great American Mixtape” and Talib Kweli’s “The Blacksmith Community Mixtape,” Cidida partnered with producer, Eibol, to create a refreshingly diverse record that transcends prior conceptions of traditional hip-hop.

The fateful union of these two powerhouses planted the seed of what has now become “Ludwig, Can You Hear Me?” a musically mature record that captures Cidida’s forceful lyrical prowess and pairs it with Eibol’s vocal styling’s and sophisticated musical arrangements. With it’s beautiful and sometimes haunting undertones, all 12 tracks take the listener beyond the sonic drapery of most hip-hop records and encompasses a sonically adventurous spectrum of music feels and remains fluid with the interplay of beats, keyboards, strings, and percussion.

Built on inspirations ranging from Beethoven to Marvin Gaye to J DILLA, “Ludwig, Can You Hear Me” manages to have something for all audiences, offering up “Jewels” for the hip-hop fan or “Sorry” for a pop track with an old-school feel. Almost immediately the grassroots approach to this record becomes obvious, in conveying not only compelling lyrics but also the powerful emotions behind them. In every track the feelings are raw and impossible to ignore. Staying in the Motown tradition, it was important that every aspect of the production of “Ludwig, Can You Hear Me?” remain in-house, with Eibol co-writing the lyrics, writing, and recording all instrumentation and outside talents coming from within their close knit Chung King family of friends, including the talents of female vocalist Key Huggins.

I don't want to call these "photoshoots" because it sounds too strategic. So instead, the photos that I do myself will be called "inspiration" because in reality they really are. If you know me by now, I don't like to be too serious and I keep it simple.

For these, I am thankful for my good friend, Delilah to be a part of the first set.

This is my first time posting on Chainsaws & Jelly of my own work aside from make-up. I am a fan of everything magic, mystical, fairy tales, and just always in a different world. The photos that came out made me smile because it reminds me of fair maidens and princess brides.

News | Two Fashion Brands Pushing the Envelope : G-Star & Timberland

In the world of fashion, things are constantly changing. Brands are continuously forced to try different things, in order to distinguish themselves from the competition. And that’s exactly what G-Star and Timberland boots for men are aiming to do this season. With so many exciting developments in the fashion world over the past few months – and the lead-up to the London Olympic Games ahead – now’s the time for brands to really put their weight behind two key aspects: advertising and innovation.

G-Star certainly has the advertising side of the equation under control, having recently launched a brand new campaign. They have enlisted the help of a new face, French actress and model Clémence Poésy, best known for her roles in Gossip Girl and Harry Potter.

Poésy is considered to bring a fresh look to a brand known for its tough, edgy and rock-chic designs. Poésy, alongside Vincent Gallo – the male face of G-Star – are on display on billboards across London, as part of the launch of their spring/summer 2012 campaign. And G-Star is making use of some of London’s most valuable real estate for advertising – public transport. The company has covered 30 taxis with their branding, as well as tube stations in and around Soho, Covent Garden and Mayfair.

Whilst G-Star is focusing on advertising, Timberland has decided to revolutionise one of their trail shoes. The new Radler Trail Camp model, from Timberland in Japan, makes it easier than ever to take rugged shoes with you, where ever you go. The shoes feature a built-in zip, which runs along the flange of the shoe, allowing them to be zipped up and effectively folded in half. This makes them perfect for the travelling adventurer – or anyone who likes to be prepared, just in case.

The shoes are available in a basic design – with a gold upper and black sole and trims – as well as a range of other colours. From pinks to whites and even camo, there’s something for everyone. The best thing about these shoes is the materials used to make them. The uppers are made from a breathable fibre, allowing for maximum aeration and comfort. The shoes also incorporate Timberland’s trademark “Green Rubber,” which is being used more and more frequently.

Fashion brands need to stay ahead of the game if they want to continue to succeed. And here are two prime examples of brands doing exactly that.
